If you are looking for a space to start, continue, or maintain your sparkle, Transformation Fitness is the space. I Joined TF in September and started the 8 Week Challenge. The 8 Week Challenges are a great way to get the wheels back on the track if they have fallen off. When I joined I didn't realize that my wheels were all about off, I was at a point in my life where I was working out really hard, but not being accountable with my food consumption, and I didn't feel good so it was impacting the way I felt about myself.
The 8 week program matches you with a coach/trainer and you are given an easy nutrition plan to follow (you have to meet the plan more than half way for success). The 6 checkins throughout the challenge create a safe place where you and your coach and track your progress and readjust if needed. I'm incredibly hard on myself and when I wasn't seeing the scale move I was a little down. However the results from InBody scan and Joanie explaining the fat loss and muscle gain started to change my thought process and knowing Joanie is the expert, I trusted the process. I ended up winning the Challenge!!! I met my goal of being able to fit my clothes and be confident in my own skin again.
When I started TF my range of motion from an Achilles tear was very limited, I could barely do lunges, and my hip mobility was limited. I was also swollen from stress, the sugar consumption, and gorging at night for my one meal a day. At the end of week 8 my range of motion was back and weighted lunges became a movement I didn't loath. My hips were not angry at my, I was no longer swollen, and I was getting my strength and confidence in movement back.
TF provides every opportunity to succeed, whether you are a early riser, a mid morning person, or need something after work hours. I enjoy the 5:30 am classes and appreciate the opportunity to come in mid morning and evening.
Every trainer/coach is welcoming, empowering, motivating and has their own effective style of teaching. It's more than just a space to toss the weights around, it is a community where everyone is working on the best version of themselves and you leave feeling empowered and ready to conquer the world!

Joanie is my favorite! although I had the pleasure of working out with a number of the staff at TF, they are all great.
Joanie helped me find a level of health and fitness I had not experienced since I was in my 30’s. (60’ish now but I don’t act it😊)

If you are on the fence about weather to have a trainer or not, I can tell you that it makes a difference. Joanie is the best for a lot of reasons. I just want to take a moment to give a review and to thank Mark he is a great trainer, very knowledgeable, educated in his craft, and has a great way of connecting with his clients. My son is a D1 athlete, Mark trained him prior to him leaving for his first year, he got him so prepared that when he arrived at his college and began workouts with his team the coaches called me to tell me that whoever had been working my son out should be thanked because he showed up in shape at the right weight they wanted him to be at and ready to hit the ground running on day 1. I started in April of this year by signing up for their 8 week Challenge and my body changed drastically, At 52 , I learned how to count Macros and do it right. I drive four times a week to workout at the 530am and 600am class with trainers Corey or Lisa. Oh and I drive from North End of Tacoma, 30min each way. I have found a welcoming, professional, energetic, clean and results at Transformation Fitness. I couldn’t find a wonderful place like this in Tacoma. I looked for a year.
I have used workout equipment that I never knew existed and I now know what a HITT class should be like. I have met with Amy Jo , the owner and her enthusiasm and dedication to being healthy, fit and never giving up is reflected in the trainers that have helped and guided me, and her Saturday boot camp classes! I found this place through Facebook and I am very happy I did.
I have been training with Myra for about a month and I have had a great experience with her. She is very enthusiastic, nice, friendly, experienced, and most importantly, a very professional trainer. Corey is a phenomenal trainer who always mixes it it up with the workouts so it’s never boring or predictable. Also gets me using muscle groups I probably haven’t used in years while also focusing on coordination and form over all else. My goal was to just lean out and cut and I’m already noticing big improvements after 6 weeks of 1/2 hour sessions from the penguin shaped dad-bod that’s cursed me for years!

I started coming here in November of 2018. I was nearly 400 lbs and 50% body fat. I struggled with performing normal daily tasks because I was so out of shape. When I decided that I needed a trainer and a nutritionist to help me start building a new a way of life, I looked into Transformation Fitness.
Right from the beginning, all of the trainers were incredibly kind and did not treat me harshly for how heavy I was. I never felt out of place there, and everyone, even other clients, were incredibly supportive and encouraging.
I've lost over 130 lbs and almost 30% body fat, I've been able to participate in multiple fun runs, and even placed in a Powerlifting Competition that TF hosted. I have been a TF regular for almost two years now and I absolutely love it. The classes are amazing, fun, and will get you sweating real quick. All the trainers are very personable (they make a note to say hi and introduce themselves to all the new customers.) and simply amazing. They make sure to cater to each individual’s needs whether in personal training or in classes. Plus they make sure to let their clients know
they are always willing to modify to accommodate all fitness levels and any injuries. All the classes are open to all fitness levels as well. Overall the gym atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly (both the trainers and the clients). I’ve also worked with Amy Jo for my nutrition this past year and loved it. We were able to set some goals together for where I wanted to be at a certain date. She catered my meal plan not only around how active I am but also to what I like to eat. I was able to enjoy my meals because I was eating food I enjoyed and still got the results I wanted. Overall, I’m glad I discovered this studio that really kickstarted my fitness journey. The people here are not just my friends but my family.

EDITED: I am still going to this amazing establishment. I stopped for a little bit after having my son but got back in it when they were offering mommy and me boot camps. And now I’m doing personal training which I opted for as a Mother’s Day gift. I needed something to help me get back to working out and keeping me accountable. Cody is one of their personal trainers who is excellent. The focus is to increase muscle through lifting weights- intentionally and guided!
They also have excellent classes but I prefer to get in and focus 1:1. No wasting time wandering around a gym wondering what to do.
I love that when I workout the only people there are coaches or people working with coaches. It’s a positive, encouraging environment focused on individual progress. I’m a “slow learner” and have still lost over 15 lbs and 10% body fat. I’m stronger and have completely changed (simplifies) the way I think about and manage what I eat.

I paid for a two week trial to check this place out. At the end of my trial, a fat loss challenge was beginning, so I thought, why not, and I signed up. In the first four weeks of the challenge I saw great results. This was not because of some magic pill or fad diet but from great advice and encouragement from the trainers and the other great people who attend classes there.
I struggled when I first started because my body was having a hard time keeping up with the cardio, but now I look forward to going to each class. I love the variety of classes and I never know what to expect when I show up. When I leave, I’m sweating bullets! Amy Jo is very intelligent in all aspects of fitness. She works with you and your individual goals (not what she thinks your goal should be.Which I fell is important), and coaches each person differently based on their goals.

I first started with Amy Jo over two years ago. I knew little to nothing of her and was skeptical. I had lost the weight (size 16 to 2) but was plateauing in trying to get into a more athletic shape. I told myself six month was all I would pay. However, over two years later and I am still there! Even with my AVERAGE COMMUTE ONE WAY TO T.F. IS 1 HOUR 20 MIN with no traffic.

I did the "nutrition/workout/ check in" with her for two straight year. I not only dramatically changed my physique but gained the knowledge to continue this on my own. Through those two years I did the "do it for your photo shoot" package with Paul Buceta and Strongcamp. Both experiences were extraordinary and would do every week if I could. Recently in the past few months, I switched over to "1 on 1 personal training" to try something different . Each session is amazing, different, and pushes me. I cannot wait for my next session as soon as I leave!

The atmosphere at Transformation Fitness is always upbeat and positive. Amy Jo cares who she hires and invites into T.F. for events. The other trainers there are astute and do amazing work as well. Amy hires people who are genuinely passionate and care about there clients as much as she does. I've grown to really appreciate the whole T.F. family.

Not only do I have access to extremely knowledgeable trainers, I have a whole support group to help me stay motivated and continue to achieve my goals. After having two kiddos, it was hard getting back into the swing of a healthy routine. However after joining TF, I realized that I needed to put in the hard work and adjust my nutrition. After 4 months, I found the unfortunate struggle of having to update my wardrobe because all of my clothes were just too dang baggy.

The positive vibes from fellow gym rats and amazing leadership from the TF trainers have created a safe and fun but most of all productive atmosphere. I assure you, when you leave after your first class you will want to come back.

I've seen Amy Jo for nutrition for a little over a year and have seen dramatic changes in my energy levels and body shape.
