Just started going and so far it has been a wonderful experience. Instructors have been friendly and welcoming, prices are reasonable, attendees have been nice. Planning on continuing to make it an ongoing part of my week.

Excellent massage therapist!! I just had a massage with Danielle at the Tacoma location and I feel great! She was able to pinpoint exactly where I was having issues and used deep soothing pressure and guided breath work to ease the tension out of my neck and shoulders. Danielle hold space well and created an environment that was relaxing and safe. I would book again with her in a heartbeat!

This yoga studio is truly one of a kind! The teachers are so talented, and every class feels intentional, well thought out, and deeply nourishing. There’s such a wonderful variety of class styles to choose from, so there’s always something to fit your mood or need. The community here is absolutely magical—welcoming, supportive, and full of good energy. The massage therapist is incredible, and the events the studio hosts are always inspiring. Honestly, it’s the best yoga studio around—the classes, the massage therapy, and the community are all exceptional. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Tuladhara Yoga has become a central fixture in my life over the past 4 years. The instructors have consistently challenged my asana practice and my spiritual practice off the mat. I have faced and overcome many fears with the patient support of Tuladhara community members. I love entering one of the sister studios and seeing familiar faces. I love how my body feels after practice and the relationship I have with my body today. This is the first time in my life that I’ve felt a genuine part of something bigger than me and felt uplifted by other women. Through this kula, I’m learning to tap into my own personal power and own it with discernment. Thank you Tuladhara!

One of the best yoga studios I've been to. Good for all levels and you can still really stretch yourself in the mixed classes. Have been out of practice after post kiddo/+pandemic and now feel much more in my body thanks to their intentional approach.

I have only taken a handful of classes here over the years. It’s not my vibe. I prefer hot yoga, but really the space itself, is what I don’t love. It’s a great location, but the old house, is literally that. You can hear all the noises from the street, the restaurant upstairs, the squeaky door to the restroom, and in the sound bath class today a woman was texting with sound on. I know I will never find complete silence to practice in, but is it too much to ask to practice without someone stomping on the floor above your head? This was too much today and I couldn’t relax. The sound bath was amazing, but not in that space. I almost invited a friend for their first sound bath, and am so glad I didn’t. I will stick with the Lakewood location for meditation and other studios for my yoga practice.

I really like the yoga + meditation day classes with Megan Hart and Vinyasa with Katie Holbrook. I don’t work Mondays so it puts me in the right headspace to start my week. Day classes are best because it’s less noisy with the tenants upstairs. 6 pm classes are okay when medium energy because your moving more and it doesn’t need to be as quiet

The staff, the variety of classes and workshops offered, and the serene space are what keep my husband and I coming back to Tuladhara. The classes aren’t intimidating for newcomers, and all of the teachers I’ve practiced with have been fun and welcoming. As I’ve committed more to practicing, I’ve noticed a higher level of strength and vitality in my body. I really can’t recommend yoga at Tuladhara enough!

I have been going to the studio for almost 3 months. I tried almost all the teachers. I love it! Every one is really attempting and respectful. I never took any class in a studio before but I hear horrible stories about how plus side people can be insulted and humiliated . I never felt nothing else than respect and kindness. The place is also pretty and clean. Thank you for the great classes! Love the Ganesha statue by the way 🥰

This studio is amazing!! I’ve been out of touch with yoga since having a baby so I love that there’s a nice variety of yoga classes, especially yin! I went to Story’s (love her) Sunday class and it whooped my butt!!! I burnt 403 calories! I love that there’s nice beginner classes, intermediate, restorative, and workshops. There’s something for everyone! I’m super thankful for finding this studio and teachers. Each of them offer something super unique :)

I highly recommend this yoga studio! The instructors are very high quality and the classes are thoughtful, always integrating mind and body. I learn something new with every class I take, whether it be about yoga or about myself. Starting a regular practice and joining tacOMa yoga by Tuladhara as a member has kept me mentally grounded during the pandemic. I've particularly enjoyed classes with Lynette (yin and nidra), Sierra (vinyasa), and Shannen (vinyasa). I'm sure the other instructors are great too, these are just the ones I've taken from consistently and would recommend. The studio is accepting of all bodies and all levels and I have not come across an "inner circle" clique of students that I've run into at other studios. The studio has been great with covid precautions and clear communication as state regulations have changed. Definitely worth the money on so many levels.

I have been coming since January (when i “officially” started doing yoga, and I really love the space and the instructors. I haven’t had any bad classes, with yoga I’ve just found some styles of class and teaching are the right fit while others may be great but not for me. I consistently take the align and flow classes, as well as a yin class sometimes to help me get relief from the stress that I put on my body with heavy weight lifting.

Hands down, or downward dog down the best studio in Tacoma and beyond! Even when on vacation I have trouble finding studios that compare to TY. The teachers are incredibly knowledgeable and there's a great mix of flow, strength and variety that go beyond sun salutations. The staff are really warm and inviting and I always look forward to my time here.

I fell in love with Tacoma Yoga right away, the space radiates goodness! I especially love that the variety of classes so I have the chance to give myself something different if I’m needing it, and each teacher is so thoughtful with their offerings, and still let me know I can do what my body needs! Such a great community :)

Just moved to town the other day and my wife and I really needed a nice stretch and relax. The location is great for us and the space is nice, but they really should name their classes more appropriately. We went to a Flow class which began in down dog and within 20 minutes were invited to include crow in a sequence. From there it turned into more of a pose workshop that was definitely on the more advanced side. We both thought the class should have been called Advanced Flow or Flow Level 2 or 3. We’ll probably try a class with a different teacher but I’m not optimistic. Being a teacher myself a class should progress more thoughtfully, warming the body up sufficiently first, and incorporating awareness, relaxation, breath work and meditation.

A great community fills this studio. I have so many wonderful friends and moments of discovery with them. When it started about 3 years ago, it brought along many of the devotees of Amy Petty. Even when she later moved along, the quality of instruction was outstanding with Eva, Erynn and Rebeca as my favorites.
With new ownership as of December 2017, the dynamics are shifting. Teachers have left or been shifted down the schedule to times that are unavailable to me. The new owners favor a younger, more athletic style of yoga and more hip new teachers have been added.
Given this shift in focus, I have moved away from Tacoma Yoga and can't recommend it at this time. I would say two stars but Eva is worth one on her own so I'll give it 3.

I can't speak highly enough about this studio and the ownership. I have never been to a studio where I have felt as welcomed, and as taken care of as I do at tacOMa yoga.
The teachers are highly knowledgeable, warm and inviting. The studio itself is clean and beautiful. Exactly the type of space I want to practice in.
As someone who considers myself athletic, I typically would find myself drawn to more "challenging" classes. But in my time practicing at tacOma yoga, and specifically when working with Shawnda, my most rewarding experiences have been in Yin classes or Yin experiences. Shawnda has the most radiant energy, and a way of connecting into exactly what part of you needs attention, wether it is physical or emotional.
If you are looking for a studio that cares for your physical, spiritual and emotional needs tacOma yoga is the spot for you!

I LOVE TacOMa Yoga!! I've practiced yoga at a few other places, and this studio is by far my favorite. It has a cozy community feel and a variety of levels and types of yoga. Rachel's Align class and Shawnda's yin class are my two favorites, but every class I've taken has been great!

tacOMa yoga is the only studio I will ever practice at!! I enjoy the teachers, the variety of classes and the convenient location. I own a small personal training studio in the north end, and I refer all of my clients to take classes at tacOMa yoga. I have taken many yin classes with Shawnda and Jamie, and flow classes with Andre, Rachel, Melissa and Rebecca. All of the teachers are great and I’m excited to continue my practice going into 2018!

I love tacOMa yoga, the teachers, and what this studio stands for!! A few years ago, I started practicing at this studio (when it was yoga palace). It was the first (and has been the only) yoga studio I have practiced at. I was burnt out with my job and decided I needed to recenter myself. I did the “intro series” class with Greg and absolutely loved it! After the intro class, I started taking classes with a variety of teachers (Rachel, Shawnda, Andre, Jamie, Melissa, Greg and Rebecca), all of whom are still teaching as the business has transitioned from yoga palace to tacOMa yoga. All of these teachers are open, kind, compassionate and fun people to be around. Technically, all of the teachers are well educated in yoga practices and make it a priority for people to listen to their bodies (i.e. understand that each student has their own goals, limits, body type, etc).
The location is convenient and easily accessible. Not to mention, it’s close to local coffee shops, restaurants and bars (fun pre and post yoga hang out spots). In addition, it is clear that the owners of tacOMa yoga are making a focused effort to provide reasonably priced class options, along with “specials” from time to time (all of which are available on their website or advertised on social media). This is especially important for me, as I feel it makes this studio accessible to all people who are interested in practicing here.
Overall, tacOMa yoga is an accepting and inclusive place to start or continue your yoga practice. I am very pleased to see this business transition from yoga palace to tacOMa yoga, as I know the new owners will continue to prioritize the happiness and growth of their students.

I've had chronic back pain since an injury from 2008. Through yoga, especially the Align classes, I've found so much relief. The instructors at Tacoma Yoga are world class and give solid instruction, having thorough knowledge of the body. Most of the instructors have advanced training above and beyond the industry standard. I recommend this studio to all my friends.

I was introduced to the studio when I took Greg’s intro to yoga series. He was very good at explaining basic poses and fundamentals of yoga. He made it fun and it really helped when I started taking the weekly offered classes.
Skip forward to almost a year and a half later and I go regularly to an average 2-3 classes a week now. Switching between vinyasa and yin. The teachers are all friendly and really make yoga accessible for everyone. I have found it really helps me in other areas of my life such as rock climbing and hiking.
I fully recommend this studio to anyone who is starting out or who has an advanced practice.

I have been practicing yoga for ten years and I can honestly say that Yoga Palace is my favorite studio by far. When I uprooted myself from the Bay Area this past September to help my parents, I came with absolutely nothing. So, the first thing I did was seek out a yoga studio. I was instantly welcomed not only by their amazing teachers but the students as well. Now I have a wonderful place to practice yoga and a warm community of friends.
