Suibukan Karate has been a fantastic experience for my son. Since joining, I've seen a remarkable boost in his confidence, discipline, and respect for others. The Senseis are knowledgeable and create a welcoming environment that emphasizes both martial arts skills and important life lessons.

My son has made great friends and enjoys every class. The structured curriculum allows him to progress at his own pace, and I appreciate the individual attention he receives. I highly recommend Suibukan Karate for any child looking to grow both physically and personally!

As a parent, finding a program that builds confidence, discipline, and respect in children is priceless—and that’s exactly what we found at Suibukan of West Virginia.

If you’re looking for a martial arts program that emphasizes perseverance, strong leadership, and personal development, we wholeheartedly recommend Suibukan of WV. It’s more than a dojo—it’s a community that helps children thrive.

My son has been doing karate with this dojo for 3 years now. The growth and maturity I've seen in him has been nothing but astonishing. He has been offered so many amazing opportunities to meet special martial artists around the world and train with them. Jennica and Brian are always pouring out all thy have into these students to make them succeed and give them life long lessons to carry throughout their lives. It's more than just karate. It's a second family. If your thinking about joining, don't hesitate. We would love to have you and your kiddoes be a part of the dojo!

Took my son to try it out for a few weeks, and he absolutely loved it !! The Sensis are amazing and caring and the student’s are so encouraging and positive !! My son is always so excited and always looking forward to going to his classes. He talked me into trying it out and now it’s something we do together!! It’s one of the best decisions I could have made for us both !!! I am so blessed to have my family be apart of the Suibukan Family !!!

Our children have grown so much at this dojo. Instructors are great with kids and adults. You can even take karate along side your children if you’d like. They bring even bring in Sensei Yamashita! Rates are great! As a parent there are fitness classes offered downstairs during karate you can check into also.
We truly appreciate all the time they put in to each student.
Give it a try for a week…you’ll be back!

My son has found his sport. He has tried wrestling and Tball. He was ok with doing them for a season. But when we introduced him to karate and told him, that it is yr around/2 days a week or more, he was game.
He has been doing karate since Sept. 2021. He has learned so much and it would not have been so able without his Sensei and Sempai. The whole dojo in fact. They truly treat you like family. It may have taken us a few years to find his place in the sport world but we are so happy we did. He has even made it look interesting to his sister( who I have no pics of because she shys from the camera.
If you are looking for an activity for your child but aren’t sure if they will like it. Come down and check out Suibikan karate, you’ll leave wanting to come back.

Where to start… Suibukan of WV is wonderful! They have taught my son so much in a year and a half. It’s not just the skills taught; it’s determination, grit, focus, physical strength, and mental strength. I put my son in physical therapy to help with balance issues, it was a struggle. I put him in karate, and he’s practicing (and improving) balance without even knowing! My son also struggles with focus, I’ve seen an improvement with this as well.

Sensei Brian, Senpai Jenica, and Miss Betsy are wonderful in teaching and caring. The prices are reasonable (currently 5 dollars a class), making it far more affordable than other karate schools in the area. You pay PER class, so no need to worry if you have to miss a few classes here and there. The first week is free, so you can see if your child likes it! I’m so glad we did. Now we feel like we are part of a (growing) family. :)

Excellent environment for everyone involved! The kids learn structure and are taught how to respect each other. The Sensei & Sempai are amazing! The know how to keep karate fun but still keep them in line when it's time to be serious. I love watching the students blossom from super shy & unsure of themselves to confident, happy kids. Everyone is so welcoming and quick to help each other that it's hard not to become a super fanatic karate mom. I highly recommend Suibukan of West Virginia for anyone wanting to learn karate. The adults class looks the same. Everyone already seems to know each other really well.

Our eight year old daughter started a year & a half ago right after they opened. She absolutely loves the classes, sensei Brian, senpai Jenica, Miss Betsy, and the other kids, teens, and adults. I recommend this school to every parent & adult that I meet or know that talks about joining karate or an activity for their child.

Our child started training in this dojo with Sensei Brian and Senpai Jenica March of 2020!. Since last March Kiara has ranked up to a yellow belt at 7 years old. With such great instructors who provide a serious, but fun atmosphere I would recommend this dojo to any parent looking for an activity for their child or even for themselves.

Great instructors!! If I could give 10 stars I would. They are always willing to take the time to help break down the moves. It is a great environment that I have seen the growth of my children’s confidence in karate and just in themselves. I am so happy that we decided to join!
