I'm really unhappy with this gym.. first off, when we signed up, nobody explained that I was stuck in a 2-year contract that you either have to move or die to escape. So, when we walked into the gym two months ago and it smelled like urine (and still does), my wife and I tried to cancel and switch to another location. We were told we couldn't cancel unless we paid a hefty fee or moved or died. I checked the contract, and it actually says that if you're an open-ended customer like us, you can cancel after being paid up for two months. But I was told that was wrong and that I'd have to cough up $500 to cancel.. So here I am, waiting to use the tanning bed because I guess I might as well use something if I'm paying for it. But I can't even tan yet because it hasn't been 24 hours, and I have to wait 15 minutes to use it. So, I'm taking this time to warn anyone looking for a gym: steer clear of one with a 2-year lease!!! The pressure and harassment mentioned in another review were also spot on and super annoying. They also talked about new equipment since the other location closed, but nope, they just put in a machine we already had.

Canceled my training in April and they continue to charge me. I am not even in the state and they continue to charge for services not rendered. I continue to be harassed by Quinn…multiple phone calls and emails. Do not join Anytime Fitness

Also, was anyone else forced to give a positive review while sitting in front of Quinn at time of sign up with the promise of waiving a sign up fee? I did what I had to do while sitting in the office and deleted it later.

Worst Anytime Fitness I've ever been to. All the equipment feels like rejects from other clubs that decided to get something nice. The TVs suck and you can't change the channel. Not a single decent bench in this building. The ones they have shake or fold when you try to use them and compress your middle back uncomfortably. I basically come here to use the treadmills which I also dislike but it's the closest Anytime Fitness to the hospital where I currently work.

They are not for the customers whatsoever. Been trying to cancel my services for 3 months. Now that they finally did their job after 3 months, I still have to pay another month. They care more about screwing people over than what is good for the community and I refuse to support a business like that. I don’t recommend anyone go there unless you like throwing your money towards a business that is bad for our community.

One of my worst experience at a gym. If you wanna go to this gym beware that they will make you sign a contract for over 1-2 years. So even if you don't work out no more in those periods they will still charge you, and FYI, their price is way too expensive. If I remember I had to pay 22 bucks ever 2 weeks totaling to 44 bucks a month. Unlike any other gyms where they have monthly paid services, with this gym you are stuck for a year or two. The gym wasn't even big and only 2 bench press making you have to wait for almost half an hour to use a bench.

My “home” gym is Anytime Fitness in Wausau. Jeremiah and Stacy are the two staff here that I’ve interacted with the most and they’re both helpful and wonderful people. I’ve rejoined after about a 6-month break from a shoulder surgery recovery and I was surprised/pleased to find that they both remembered me. I’ve been to several other Anytime Fitness locations around Wisconsin and they’ve all been exceptional. I feel welcome in every one whether it’s other clients or staff.

This is a great community gym. The group classes are a fantastic way to challenge yourself and keep yourself accountable without the cost of a personal trainer if you aren’t ready for that yet. The coaches are excellent as well. I’ve been friends with Jeremiah since Jan 2023 and always look forward to seeing him, getting my butt kicked a bit, and learning something new. I joined AF in May 2022 and I met with a coach to discuss what my goals were. My son's wedding was coming up in June and I wanted to lose about 30lbs by then to feel good and look nice and I had 6 weeks to do it. Not a realistic goal but with really hard work it was possible. They set up a workout plan along with a healthy way of eating. When the wedding time came I had lost around 19lbs and I was thrilled my dress had to be taken a whole size in and I felt amazing. To date I have lost 25lbs and have had many set backs causing me to plateau. I lost my self esteem and was also losing the pride I had in myself. I met with the coaches and together we came up with another plan/goals to work towards but not until after they took the time to hear my feelings struggles and anything else that got me in my 'slump'. The coaches here truly care about my well being and always have the right words to keep me on my game. 8 months after I joined I wanted my husband to join and he was skeptical because he has a lot of physical restrictions. I arranged for him to meet with a coach and again they took the time to listen to him learn about his health and limitations. He was shown around the gym and educated on what he can and cannot do. He was very impressed and he is now a member of AF along with me. I cannot express enough how great the coaches here are and I would recommend to anyone that wants to better themselves to join this gym!

My favorite thing about Anytime Fitness Wausau is the people. They really provide the support, motivation, and accountability that I need to keep working toward my goal. The trainers are professional and friendly, and the clients are supportive of each other. I’ve made several new friends in the 6 months that I have gone there.
I enjoy the team workouts because they accommodate every fitness level so you never feel out of place. As you improve you can do the more advanced movements or use a heavier weight. They have classes several times a week, so I can always find one to fit my schedule.
The gym is nearby, so I can swing by and get a quick workout in anytime I want. There is a variety of equipment available. They have safety measures in place, and everything is clean.
