Fantastic gym and community! This place has everything you could want — it’s clean, well maintained, and clearly run by an owner who genuinely cares about his members. The equipment is top quality and covers every goal: cardio, mobility, strength, and even dedicated areas for heavy or Olympic-style lifting. It’s open 24/7 with secure access and full audio/video monitoring, so you can train confidently any time. The owner, a seasoned strength athlete, brings real knowledge and passion to the gym, creating a supportive, high-performance environment. I’ve also heard great things about the martial arts academy hosted here — another awesome bonus. Highly recommend this gym for anyone looking for a serious, welcoming place to train!

My workouts no longer suffer when I visit home. I've used nearly every major gym chain across the country and prices are among the most reasonable I've seen for temporary passes. Passes are simple to purchase and the building is easy to access using the phone app. If you aren't getting a student/military discount their regular monthly membership seems a bit high for the area (there is no competition nearby) because gyms with pools/courts/saunas/free guests etc can be had in major cities for less. However you still get what you pay for because you will never have to wait for equipment. I was skeptical when I saw only two squat racks but it never gets crowded. I don't feel like I'm hogging a rack when I bench press in it to have safety bars because the other rack is always open. I went nearly every day for a month long visit and never had to wait for a piece of equipment or modify my routine.

Their martial arts classes are also incredible value and my favorite part of Bison. I used to pay for classes at a UFC branded gym and Bison is much better value. Its almost a no-brainer to pay the $30 above base membership cost to get unlimited classes of a martial art of your choice. The owner Sam has let me purchase a single month of that as well so they are extremely flexible and personable to your lifestyle in a way that a chain gym would not be. It's nice to see the owner/instructors there and talk to them about the gym business/fitness/life etc. Sam responds immediately to any membership or technical problems with the 24/7 access. There is much more of a community feel especially with the martial arts classes.

I would choose Bison over any other gym if it was near me and it makes want to extend my Kiel stays. Bison is a much needed addition to Kiel!

Fantastic privately owned gym! Has a wide variety of fitness equipment for any skill and fitness level. Atmosphere is very relaxed but motivating. Staff is extremely knowledgeable on overall health and workout routine, from kids to adults.
