I would confidently rate Dysfunctional Fitness a 5 out of 5 for numerous reasons. The evening crew fosters an inviting and encouraging environment, making every session a positive experience.

Initially, stepping into a fitness center was outside my comfort zone. However, Megan has a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, regardless of their fitness level. The workouts are thoughtfully designed to ensure a full-body workout, and while some movements may seem challenging at first, Megan’s motivation and hands-on support make all the difference.

Through my time at Dysfunctional Fitness, I have gained valuable knowledge about fitness and strength training. More importantly, this community has become much more than just a workout space—it is a supportive and inspiring group that I am grateful to be part of.

Dysfunctional fitness is a game changer! I’m almost 50 and have regularly exercised all my adult life. I’ve belonged to numerous gyms over the years, including top-rated ones in Madison. They were good, but Dysfunction Fitness is great! I hadn’t realized how much I was missing until I joined and met Megan. She challenges her members and ensures they get the most out of the routines. I noticed significant improvements in my strength and muscle tone in just a few weeks. After being a member for 3 months, I committed to 1 year and look forward to it. This gym is different from others and so is the attention and direction from Megan. If you want REAL RESULTS, you’ll definitely get them here!

Dysfunctional fitness is a great place to workout. When your beginning Megan helps with form so you do the exercises correctly. As you progress and get use to the exercises she tells you how to make it more challenging. It's fun everyday and everyone there is nice. Don't worry if you think you can't work out, everyone can workout at dysfunctional fitness.

Dysfunctional fitness is an awesome place for group fitness! I had carpal tunnel surgery one year ago and have balance issues. Coach Megan is often asking does that hurt your wrists or when you get to this movement I have a shorter step or hang on to the rack when you lunge. She is motivating, encouraging and is a seasoned exercise Coach!!
I love it here and the community that Megan has built!!

Love this place! It’s a welcoming environment, the workouts are all different and challenging, and I always leave feeling better. Also, Megan and Hudsyn are authentic (none of that weird fake over enthusiasm/praise when doing the workout). Evansville is lucky to have a fitness place like this.

I was brought to DF by a friend just for a drop in class. I was barely 10 minutes into the drop in class before I knew I wanted to sign up for a membership. I now drive 25 minutes every morning to come to class because I am hooked! Megan, the owner, was and continues to be extremely kind, inviting, and supportive throughout my fitness and health journey. She teaches with her heart and you can see this with EVERY single workout. She puts thought into each move and designs each day to better each and every person. She will adjust your weight as tolerated, fix your form, encourage you to do one more rep, and she will give you alternatives for moves that you are not able to do- without question. I have been to several gyms in the past (commercial, personal trainer, self-run heavy lifting gyms, HIIT) and nothing compares to the experience I have had here. I look forward to my 5:15 am classes. The environment is supportive and energetic. The experience Megan brings to the table is unmatched and she provides knowledge and workouts you have never seen nor done!! This place will get you to your fitness goals. Try it out if you want someone who will give you their all!

After trying many different gyms, I finally found a place where I feel comfortable, motivated, and supported. Megan is amazing at helping you get started with a warm welcome and her supportive, high energy mentality. My schedule is crazy so the variety of class times has been a good fit for me and my family. The group environment is encouraging and inspires me to push myself harder than working out by myself at a Big Box gym.

I can’t leave out Hudsyn who is simply fabulous. He is caring and helps build my confidence. You can’t not be happy around Hudsyn! Which brings me to what I feel is the most important part of this review. Mentally, this gym and family I stumbled upon has allowed me to shed some of life’s madness. Whether it’s hitting a bag, celebrating my own and our groups accomplishments, or simply heckling Megan, I leave with the mental reset we all need.

If you are looking to start your day by feeling your best you or get out of your head after a long day, Dysfunctional Fitness is the place to go. It’s like the Cheers of gyms. Give it a try… you won’t regret it!

I have been a member for just over a week now and I wish I joined sooner. I thought I would be intimidated by the "group" class aspect, but not at all. It's a group class, but we all workout individually at our own pace. I have been members of many gyms in Chicago and in the local areas and I have to say that Megan is the real deal. She makes the workouts fun, she actually walks around to correct and prompt you. She is high energy, has a great sense of humor and is a great coach. She starts each class by demonstrating the moves and is constantly monitoring to give pointers. Over the past week, I have participated in many different workouts. Boxing has been my favorite. All the classes are great. I love that the classes are 45 mins long. They might seem short, but I always leave feeling like I got a great GREAT workout. All in all, I am very happy that I joined. I'd give 10 stars if I could 😀

DF is a hidden gem in small-town Evansville! If you need a place to practice self-care, improve your overall health or like to exercise in a group setting, this is where you need to be. Don’t let the group fitness aspect intimidate you as each person has their own goals and journey that has led them to DF. Megan is an exceptional trainer and unbelievably knowledgeable. Each and every week brings a new challenge and it’s what keeps me coming back each and every week.

Aside from the exceptional training and guided instruction I receive, the facility is clean. You can tell keeping the gym clean is a top priority, which I appreciate.

Coach Megan is extremely knowledgeable and supportive, offering modifications and encouragement to suit everyone’s needs. I have had the pleasure of taking classes at Dysfunctional Fitness for several months now. Megan is a fantastic instructor, without her energy, enthusiasm and expertise, I would not be where I am today in my fitness journey.

I cannot say enough good things about DF. I had thought about finding a personal trainer for years but didn’t pull the trigger until Megan brought DF to Evansville. It just felt right. I have been going to group fitness classes for over 20 years at various athletic clubs. Every place has been great but Dysfunctional Fitness by far has been my favorite. I’ve consistently worked out in the morning for many years so not only do I love the early morning class options, but that is my ‘me time.’ It’s the one hour of the day that I can focus on myself. Our fitness instructor, Megan, is extremely knowledgeable and very supportive of bringing us higher weights if she knows we can lift more and I love the challenge of that! She is always walking around correcting our form when needed. She pushes everyone individually based on their goals as everybody’s physical fitness level is different which is also motivating in itself. You will never regret it - the best start to your day! I read a quote today that said, “Working out changes more than your body. It transforms your habits, confidence, your mentality and life.”

I have always hated the gym, but DF is completely different than the typical gym/fitness experience. It is a one of a kind group fitness with an incredible trainer. Megan, owner and personal trainer provides a wide variety of workouts (HIIT, strength training, boxing), expertise, honesty, motivation and an incredibly supportive and non-judgmental community. She meets you where you are at and then works with you to help support your fitness and wellness goals (handing you heavier weights to ensure you keep progressing, demonstrating and coaching proper form, and being that motivating voice when your mind is telling your body to quit.) Dysfunctional Fitness is unlike any other gym I’ve ever been part of. Megan creates workouts that are challenging, fun, creative, and comprehensive. While the format is group fitness, it’s not a class where everyone is doing the same thing at the same time. And there’s no partner work!! This helps each member focus on themselves while she trains, corrects, and encourages every step of the way.
It’s been years since I last took the time to work on myself, and the investment has been huge. I haven’t lost crazy pounds in the past two and a half months (not that I expected to do so), but my clothes fit better, I sleep better, I feel more confident, and my husband swears my attitude has improved. The upper 40s are rough on women, but being part of DF has brought renewed sense of self, capacity, and growth as I look towards 50.
Oh, and the people there are fantastic! You’re not going to feel judged, you’re going to feel empowered!! Megan, Hudsyn, and the entire DF family motivate me to go to class, even on the crappiest of days!!

Strength training at its finest! DF structures their group classes so that each individual can push themselves to their own limits, while being surrounded by inspiring people. Megan's depth of knowledge is truly impressive. Her workouts are calculated and challenging everyday. She is always throwing something new at us, knows what our abilities are and will challenge you to take that next step. As someone who has little experience at the gym, I have felt welcome here from day one. Each class has people who have been going to the gym for years and people who have never been to the gym, and it is a great workout for everyone. Megan explains every move, every single class AND will help you throughout. I have been going since dysfunctional fitness opened and not one class has been the same. Megan switches it up day after day and it never gets boring or repetitive. As a working mom, getting exercise was always a struggle to fit into my schedule, so the 45 minute classes are perfect. I am SO thankful we have something like this in Evansville!

Great classes, great atmosphere. If you are on the fence about joining this gym, don’t be! It’s awesome! I was a little apprehensive at first, just because I have been lazy for awhile, but there was no reason to be. There is no judgement, no one is watching how much you lift or comparing. Everyone is just there for themselves. Classes are great, time flies, and you get a great workout! Megan is very helpful and knowledgeable! You won’t be disappointed!

Joining Dysfunctional fitness has truly been the best choice I have made for myself. Megan the owner is absolutely amazing. She offers a wide variety of classes that offer you exactly what you need to achieve the goals. It is like no environment that I have never experienced before. Everyone is friendly, nonjudgmental, and truly has turned into a second family to me. Megan is always there to guide you and to give feedback and encouragement to make sure your body mechanics and technique are correct so that you get the most benefit from the workouts and also assures with proper technique you are staying safe to avoid injury due to incorrect body mechanics. I have never went to a class and left disappointed. Every class no matter if it’s lower body day, HITT or boxing is the same. You will never get bored and you will leave feeling amazing about how you completed and put the upmost effort into your workout.
