An outstanding facility that is run by an individual (Patrick) who takes great pride in ensuring all equipment is in great working order. The not so busy facility allows for very minimal wait times on equipment which is unlike any other gyms in the Fox Valley area. No expense was/is spared when it comes to acquiring the proper equipment for multiple options when working out a certain body part. Highly recommend this facility for anyone looking for a quiet and non crowded gym.

Physics Of Fitness is truly a standout gym, offering a Grade A experience to anyone who walks through its doors. Whether you’re an experienced gym-goer or someone just beginning to get back into fitness, this gym offers everything you need to feel comfortable, motivated, and supported.
One of the first things you’ll notice is the welcoming atmosphere. Everyone you encounter, from staff to fellow gym members, is friendly and helpful. This sense of community makes working out at Physics Of Fitness an enjoyable experience, no matter your fitness level.
The equipment is top-notch, offering a wide range of modern machines and free weights that cater to every type of workout. Whether you’re focused on strength training, cardio, or functional fitness, you’ll find the tools and space you need to reach your goals.
What really sets Physics Of Fitness apart, though, is the inspiring environment that the owner, Patrick, has cultivated. Patrick’s dedication to fostering a positive and encouraging space is evident in every aspect of the gym, from the clean, well-organized layout to the energetic vibe that keeps you pushing toward your best self.
If you’re looking for a gym that combines a high-quality facility with a motivating, friendly atmosphere, Physics Of Fitness is the perfect choice. It’s more than just a place to work out—it’s a community where you can thrive.

I have been a member at Physics of Fitness for almost 2 years now. Prior to being a member at Physics, I was a loyal member to a larger scale gym. Health and wellness has been a priority for most of my life, so I do not take lightly the environment in which I perform my physical activity. Moving to Physics was one of the best decisions I have made for myself and both my physical/mental health.
The environment of Physics is much more personal, with knowledgeable members and the owner, Patrick, who is almost always available to help. The facility is much cleaner than others, as members are aware of (and follow through with) cleaning of equipment after use. I frequently see Patrick vacuuming or spraying down equipment as well if he is not assisting another member. All of the other members I have interacted with are polite and friendly, no matter what the age range may be!
The large amount of space and variety of different equipment makes it so much easier to work out and make the most use out of the gym. At my former bog box gym, I experienced a lack of motivation due to the crowding or member, lack of equipment, and overall clutter. Another pro of Physics are the 3 private bathrooms within the facility; 2 of which have showers. This is especially nice if you prefer privacy when changing/freshening up.
Another pro is that Physics is very tech-friendly! With WiFi available to members as well as charger ports, I am able to charge my devices as needed and use my phone to catch up on things i have neglected throughout the day. If I don’t have my earbuds by chance, there is always some good rock music playing on the speakers!
I would recommend Physics of Fitness to anyone looking to take their health and fitness more seriously. I foresee myself being a member here for years to come. Truly a great community to be a part of!

Context: this review is from the viewpoint of a serious bodybuilder, who has been to some of the most famous and popular gyms in the country. I have been a loyal member at Physics of Fitness for over a year, averaging attendance of five days per week, in the evenings. As I spend much of my time here, there are some observations I would like to share, in descending priority:
Pros:
1) There are fewer members than most gyms in the area. Oftentimes there is no waiting for equipment, and sometimes there a no others in the gym.
2) The equipment selection is good. Patrick (the owner) has covered all of the bases plus some exciting pieces. The Arsenal-brand equipment is good and reflects well of quality of the gym.
3) The equipment is well-maintained. I cannot recall a time when a piece of equipment has been unusable for an extended period of time; all breaks are fixed quickly.
4) The gym is overall cleaner than most. Regular equipment maintenance and cleaning practices are kept up; wiping down of equipment is practiced by most members (~60%); bathrooms and facilities are well-kept
Cons:
1) There is no air conditioning. I did not suspect this to be an issue, but this summer has been especially humid; working out whilst hot and unnecessarily sweaty detracts from the quality of my workouts. The fans only move around the hot air and the small dehumidifier just makes the air hotter.
2) Questionable choices are made when it comes to membership. Allowing inconsiderate high schoolers and others who do not respect the gym environment brings down the gym experience for others. It's annoying to work around obnoxious groups and individuals who do not practice decent or courteous gym etiquette.
3) Management seems to both trust too much and not enough. None of the individuals recruited to develop the business have followed through with promises or have significantly contributed to the gym. Conversely, good members are punished for the actions of bad members (for example, the garage doors can no longer be opened/closed by anyone, contributing to Con #1).
4) The owner is frequently not present, especially at peak times. This not only prevents good service availability and an issue for prospective members, but also allows for frequent violation of member-only access, with irresponsible members frequently allowing in non-members for free with no enforcement.
5) No rules or guidelines are posted anywhere. Good gym etiquette is apparently not common knowledge, and there feels to be a zero-tolerance practice about breaking rules that aren't communicated or published.
5) Continuous technology issues. The Wi-Fi and music frequently cut out or get tampered with.
Overall, I think Physics of Fitness has the potential to become the best-quality gym in the area, and could support a very good gym culture and community. Unfortunately some decisions and shortcomings make it an average gym that doesn't stand out in any particular way. My recommendations for improvement would be:
1) Install air conditioning of appropriate capacity.
2) Hire trustworthy part-time staff for during peak times to monitor members, facilitate sign-ups, and maintain and enforce an appropriate fitness environment.
3) Post signage of rules and guidelines for proper gym etiquette and Physics of Fitness-specific rules. Personally I would like to see rules against working out shirtless and without permissible fitness attire; pajamas, "wife beater" tank tops, Crocs, and sandals, which are not appropriate in a gym.
This published review is meant to be a posting for prospective members and as praise & critiques for the owner. It can be revised as the addressed issues are resolved or as new issues arise.
