I booked a birthday party here for my child and their friends to swim. I was pleased with the party room and our party host was fine. She left us alone mostly which I didn’t have any problem with. I’m glad all of our party goers were ready with wearing swimsuits before our swim time started because I was not aware that they blow the whistle to get out for a break at 5 minutes to the hour. So had we not have been ready to go at 12 the kids would’ve probably had closer to 45 minutes to swim. The reason I will not be booking another party at this facility is because of the lifeguard on duty. She was like a drill sergeant yelling at my child and their friends over the smallest things. And I meaning YELLING! A swimming birthday party is supposed to be filled with fun times and memories and unfortunately the way that lifeguard yelled ruined that. It wasn’t just our group she was yelling at either. She was yelling at other kids and adults as well. I understand there is a need for safety in places like these but I watched our group and that lifeguard and I wasn’t pleased with her reactions to the kids. There’s a polite way to enforce rules and there’s the opposite. She was the opposite. My child doesn’t care to ever go back to this facility which is unfortunate.

I would give 10 stars if I could. The manager Jeff always greets everyone so cheerfully and is a bright spot to my day each time I visit. The facilities are kept immaculately and a great representation of our small town amenities. He really helps to foster a sense of community with his friendliness and positive attitude. Rude and condescending employees that give inconsistent information regarding party itinerary. Staff was extremely rude when we went in early to ask if we could see the room so we could have an idea on how to decorate it. We asked if we could come in early to decorate the room since it was not being used for anything or by anyone else for the remainder of the day. We were told, after some back and forth, that we could come in 15 minutes early to setup and decorate. This was basically the amount of time it took me to unload the car and carry the decorations through the twisting maze of that building.

The whole party was rushed due to a myriad of issues that I place squarely on the staff of this establishment but the worst of it was that the inflatable bounce house for the kids was setup 20 minutes late and we were only allowed one hour to use it. By the time it was ready the kids only had around 20 minutes to jump in it. We were not given extra time and the lady at the front desk seemed unhinged and extremely unaccommodating when we spoke to her. No apology was given to me and we were not offered anything to make up for this error. The woman at the front desk is an utter failure at providing any level of reasonable customer service and lacks basic manners. She rude to her own staff on top of being rude to members of our party as well.

Basically the whole time we were there it felt like they were rushing to get us out as soon as possible. They made us feel like we were an inconvenience and nearly ruined my son’s first birthday with their lack of hospitality.

The contract we signed never stipulated the length of the party nor were we provided documentation in our signed paperwork about the duration of the party. We were told at the venue that we would be allowed to use the room until 5PM. Much to our surprise staff started taking away tables and folding chairs to put away an hour and a half before the time we were verbally told to vacate.

A comment I heard staff tell a member of our party was that they close at 5:45PM so we need to be out of there at 4PM. This literally made no sense on any level especially when many people from our party stayed behind to clean the room we were in.

This place should be absolutely embarrassed with the service they provide, the lack of basic kindness, and especially with how awful the woman at the front desk was due to how she treats her own staff as well as how she treats paying guests.

0/10 will never go back and will never recommend.

Nice clean facilities, staff is very friendly and I general enjoy the experience working out here. My only complaint is all of the middle/highschool kids left unattended in the waiting areas, I and people I know have had numerous issues with them including food and objects thrown, personal items all over the floor, and lewd inappropriate comments towards myself and other members to name a few. They also take up spaces in the weight and strength rooms just to mess around and not actually use the machines, they just sit on them and laugh at and mock other members and sit on their phones, and sometimes refuse to move off of the machines despite not actually using them. Some stricter rules with the training rooms and general etiquette would be highly appreciated, I want to work out, not parent other people's children.

These people are rude and immune to constructive criticism. They never take accountability for bad experiences, its always an excuse or justification. They know they can get away with things because its New Richmond Wisconsin, they’re not held to any high standard. Nothing but stares as you walk in, rude condescending answers, and “INFRACTION!”(s). I read a review that an employee put a 5 year old in a jiu-jitsu hold, for what reason would you need to put a 35 pound girl through something like that, let alone run away from taking accountability or at the very least apologize for the entire situation, instead they gaslight the poor kid and her parents and threaten a lawsuit. Smh, not everyone has this experience im sure most wont, but if you come close do not expect any professionalism.

Never again!
I have had numerous birthday parties for my children here and each and every time I have been told that adults won't count towards the total. I had eight kids two under what you are allowed without going over. My wife, sister and myself, along with my 67 year old mother in her walker and 90 year grandmother. And your going to charge me extra for those two to be at my 8 year olds party. I will find somewhere else to spend my $200 for each of my children's parties from now on

As a parent, my experience with the Centre has been one of the worst, most disappointing I've had to unfortunately encounter.

My family were loyal members for about 5 years and used Kid's Cove probably 100 times without any issue.

My wife called me one day and told me she walked into Kid's Cove to find an adult staff member on top of my 5-year-old daughter, physically restraining her.

That didn't sound right and my gut told me to look into it.

Long story short, the Centre tried to cover up their adult staff member physically grabbing, dragging, and repeated illegally restraining my 5-year-old daughter against her will for over 4 minutes.

At one point, the 60-year-old staff member put my daughter in a Brazilian Jui-Jitsu style hold for over 40 seconds.

It's disgusting.

I got no cooperation from Darian Blattner (the director) or the members of the board. I requested to see the footage of the incident, to review the incident reports, and for a copy of the Centre's policy on their staff physically touching children.

Darian told me no to all the above, which raised a red flag.

I had to go to the police to get the video footage, and it's disgusting to watch a grown woman repeatedly physically abuse and emotionally traumatize my child.

The Centre has taken zero accountability for this and won't respond to my emails.

Rather than apologize or ask how my child is doing, they sent me an email letting me know they've kicked my family out of the gym.

This is the most unbelievable situation I've ever personally encountered as a parent and I am at a loss for how this could happen in this community.

My child was abused in their facility and they've not only taken no responsibility for it, their insurance adjuster also threatened me that if I posted anything online they'd get a lawyer. How terribly can you treat a family that were loyal members of your facility?

The community deserves to know what's happening in your facility AND how you handle things like this so absolutely awfully.

Kid's Cove is an unlicensed childcare which means they have no oversight or entity that regulates them.

In other words, they can get away with things like this because there's no license on the line for incidents like this.

I will NEVER allow my children in an unlicensed childcare again, ever.

The video is very clear. My child was retreating multiple times and the staff in Kid's Cove repeated stalked, charged after her, and corporally punished her for more than 4 minutes.

My concern and opinion is that children are not safe in this facility.

If you find this hard to believe, like I did, you should see the video for yourself. I would absolutely NOT allow my kids in Kid's Cove if I was you.

The basketball courts are so dusty and are so hard to play on, made me get injured and fall multiple times. Literally zero traction, terrible courts. They really need to redo the courts. If there was a different in door court then I would definitely go there instead. Literally the worst courts I ever played on.

Came here for my son's birthday party and the life guards on duty refused to open the water slide when it was supposed to open from noon-5pm. This was at 3. Instead they decided to relax in the Jacuzzi and do nothing. I also took pictures of them sitting there relaxing instead of doing their job.

Great people, always ready to be helpful. Life guard pool girls sure like to blow their whistles.. holy cow.. I accidentally went under a rope a few inches by the unopened slide; not knowing is was right behind me since I had chlorine burning my contacts and couldn't see outta my eyes for a few minutes.. just blowing that whistle as hard as she could til I could see thru my burning eyes why someone's goin postal on this annoying whistle..took me a minute but yep- it was for me as shes got this face like-DUH IT'S YOU!!. ....thought my 30some year old butt was going to prison lol. She probably was just having a bad day and let the deafening whistle take charge. Only negative experience though... Not bad. I really love this place. Everything they have to offer should be checked out at least every other month..ya never know what could happen for you or loved ones. Thank you.

This place is amazing they have affordable memberships, they have an amazing big pool area with a whole area for children, plus there is a pretty good gym and a lounge area. This place is a wonderful community option for older individuals that want to exercise in a smaller venue. Also a less expensive place for kids to swim inside and play at the splash pad outside. My husband and I got a membership here mainly because they offered child care and we have a 5 month old baby. Unfortunately when we brought her to kids cove, there was only one adult (looked to be very young) in charge of watching several kids. As soon as we put our baby down in her car seat, one of the kids threw a ball at her (no idea if it was intentional but it hit her). While the staff member was helping us, there was no one else there to watch what was happening behind her. We just didn’t feel comfortable leaving our baby there so we called a friend to watch her since we already drove all the way there. Seemed strange that during the busiest time of the day when kids cove is open (4-7) there’s only one person in there with the kids. Other than that, it’s a neat facility. We just won’t be able to utilize it as often as we had hoped.

I really wish they would redo the locker rooms and showers. The water is always cold and comes out in a straight painful stream. Some of the handles to turn the shower on are broken and have been for years. The floors are slimy and gross. I think therr could definitely be improvements to the whole locker room situation. The staff in the cardio room have always been accommodating and friendly. Front desk staff has occasionally been snippy and less than nice, however they always make sure to wish you a good night when you leave. The equipment and changing room has always been clean and I have often seen staff wiping down equipment. There is a start-up fee and a fee to put your membership on hold. My name was entered incorrectly into the system and they lost my paper file, which made putting my membership on hold and then later canceling it quite the headache. It's also important to note that the pool and all workout areas actually close 15 minutes prior to the facilities closing time.

Great place for family fun! There's an awesome pool with slides and it's a walk in type so it's great for little kids to adults with physical limitations. There's other daily/weekly special activities for seniors, kids & families. The staff was nice.
