I have been dancing at The Dancing House for around 4 years now. I started at the home studio with private lessons, and I adore how it has come full circle back to MULTIPLE home studios now at 451 Stageline Road. Not many dance studios have gorgeous window views of the outdoors (and deer families on occasion). Miss Melissa is the most patient, kind, and welcoming teacher. I started late in the dance world, and never once did I feel like I did not belong in the TDH family. Miss Melissa encourages her students to set goals, and beyond that she will work with them to achieve what they want. She taught me my first plié, and she was with me when I earned my pointe shoes. Another thing that really highlights the uplifting atmosphere at TDH is when I am taking ballet class and do something technically wrong. Miss Melissa never says "that is wrong" she will always tell us "that's a different dance class." I love when she says this because it highlights how in mistakes we always look for the teachable moment. I am so grateful to be a part of The Dancing House family!

We had an amazing birthday party experience for our daughter's 6th birthday. We found the The Dancing House in 2021 after our 9 year old showed interest in starting dance. We weren't sure how well she'd do and I was worried that she was starting dance late, so a studio specializing in beginners of all ages was perfect for us. The Dancing House has given our daughter such a positive start to our daughter’s dance career! My husband and I have been talking ever since our daughter’s recital how impressed we are with our experience so far, and even more importantly our daughter absolutely loves it! She is only two years old, but she will ask us in the middle of the week if she can go to dance (she has a weekend class) and she does not have any issues going to sleep the night before dance when I tell her we get to go when she wakes up!

We love The Dancing House!! Several years ago, my daughter and I were at the Hudson library and happened to stumble upon Miss Melissa’s music and movement class so we decided to give it a try. My daughter was two at the time and had a great experience! We immediately signed up for 2 Too Cute and never looked back. This was a great class to get into swing dancing or even brush up on the moves. The instructors were absolutely amazing. They did an great job of demonstrating moves and then circulated between the couples to answer any questions and provide guidance on each sequence.

Wow!! We are brand new to dancing and starting a little later than most. My daughter is 9. After her first class, she was a little overwhelmed. We started looking for dance lessons because my daughter wanted to try ballet. We found The Dancing House and specifically chose it because I wanted my daughter to be able to try dance in an environment that focused more on enjoying it and less on the stress of competition (so she would have choice about how invested she wants to be). I truly love everything it has given her - quality instruction, warm and friendly teachers, the joy of dancing. We’ve seen incredible impact in other areas though, too. Little Miss was diagnosed recently with dyslexia, dysgraphia and discalculia. Having the opportunity to participate in an activity that incorporates music and movement has positively impacted her learning as well. She’s thriving in school and her memory is improving as well. We had a wonderful time at our 4-year-old's birthday party at TDH! At that young age you never know how well kids will do, but Melissa was exceptional at gaining their attention to learn a choreographed dance all while having fun!

The dancing space was perfect to let them play and move, and the other larger lobby and kitchen rooms were great for others to lounge and visit without feeling crowded.

I, being a mom of a newborn, especially loved the smaller toddler/ infant room in back. I was able to sneak away from the noise to feed & rock the baby as needed.

I would definitely recommend TDH for events/ birthday parties. Fun atmosphere and easy to find location.

We love The Dancing House, especially their common-sense COVID precautions. We've been so glad to have in-person classes, opportunities for parents to watch, Zoom options on days we can't attend in-person, etc. My 7-year-old is enrolled in the ballet/tap class and looks forward to her class every week. We have even had the chance to see a few "mini-recitals" to see progress and performance, which is so needed after last year's dance classes and recitals were all completely cancelled when she was enrolled at the Phipps.

My 4-year-old attends the monthly Wiggles and Giggles with owner Melissa - what a blessing to have something for our little ones that is still in-person and normal during all the cancellations!

We have also used the monthly drop-and-go date night. Our kids ages 3-9 had loads of fun with the sitters and kids, even though it was a late evening for them. They can't wait to go back!

Our girls have loved their time at The Dancing House! Melissa is a patient and energetic instructor. We love how she’s created an environment to support their growth as dancers and build their self esteem. Plus the convenient class times are a major benefit. As a mom, I appreciate that she has a low-key, but disciplined, atmosphere and lets little kids be little kids. My daughter has been taking the VIP and ME class since she was 13 months old. At first, I wasn't sure how much she could understand and retain but at 19 months old, she can perform the dances and moves to all of the songs from the class on her own. Melissa does such a great job of incorporating different concepts and elements to the littles through song and dance (rhythm, balance, bonding, musicality, and just plain FUN!). As an added bonus, this class is a great way for the children to interact with others their age.

My 4 yr old loved her dance/tumble experience at The Dancing House! You can tell Melissa has a lot of experience teaching, engaging and focusing energy for the 3-4 yr olds to keep it fun and upbeat while introducing them to the basics of tap. My daughter loved going every week and we look forward to the next session! I really wanted an intro class that would introduce us to dance without the craziness of some studios (i.e. extra expense of costumes, hair and make up, etc), so after several recommendations, we gave it a try and so glad we did, it's perfect for us! Melissa even lent the beginner students shoes to borrow for their entire session so you don't have that expense before knowing your child will like it. All around, a great experience: quality lessons without the huge expense. Highly recommend!

My third kiddo is now enjoying Miss Melissa's 3-4 year old dance classes and LOVES them. The first day, she was shy and sad for a lot of it, but Miss Melissa handled it perfectly, and my daughter felt comfortable from there on out. Excited for her to do a camp this summer and to continue classes next year! The setting is so comfortable and Miss Melissa is so kind, and is firm in just the right way when necessary.

For my three year old, I wanted to make sure dance would be a truly positive experience, one that introduces her to dancing in a fun and enjoyable way.
