I go here to watch the fireworks when they have them. The parking is sufficient there and they have decent fireworks. It's not as nice as Nashville...but okay. They do need their firework operators to learn how to shoot them where they are upright and not sideways and upside down...I know it doesn't matter for some, but it does for smileys. They should open the bathrooms for this event and also allow people to sit in the stands. I saw people sitting closer than the stands last time. They also were a bit late last time shooting them. The place does look nice and out together. I give it 4 stars mainly because of that.

Such a cute spot for my kiddos to play at the park! They have upgraded a lot of the wooden picnic tables with metal ones. One recommendation that I have is that the picnic tables be bolted to the ground. We had multiple children, myself and my husband sitting at the table. (Meaning there was enough room for all of us to sit) BUT when weight distribution was greater on one side than the other, the picnic table almost flipped over. 😳 Just my observation. Other “sue-happy, more-miserable, drama-seeking” people may use this as an opportunity to ruin a sweet community play spot!

Our grandsons played soccer here this Spring and the fields were always very well maintained. Decent parking although it does get congested with so much going on here. Nice concession stand with limited items, most reasonably priced. Bathrooms were always clean and well stocked.

Hot as a mugg today!! Forecast was for clouds and low 80's so I walked the track. Sun shining bright and almost 90. I made it! 😝 Needless to say, not many people outside. Still enjoyed and feel safe walking here, the water in the creek was rolling today!

I love this place i just wished they had rec ball for older kids. Rec ball isn't as much stress I think they should go up to 18U a lot of kids can't play travel ball cause they can't afford it and some kids just wasn't something to do and that could keep a lot of kids out of trouble or away from an unhealthy place for a few hours. There's nothing else but ball in Athens to do for kids. It would bring in more money for the city and give more job opportunities for people who would like to try umpiring.

I loooove the sportsplex! Hiking, Frisbee golf, all beautify maintained. I am also a member of the gym and couldent be happier. Super clean! Danielle and Phil are always a pleasure to see in the morning. If you want Athens best kept secret gym, look no further.

Love to bring my granddaughters here. The playground is for everyone even for kid's in wheelchairs. You can have birthday party's here to. It also has soccer field's, ball field's, city swimming pool and a gym.

I have been playing disc golf at the Athens Sportsplex for many years. It is extra challenging on windy days with a number of "death putts" by the waters edge.

I take my grandson here every chance I get. He loves it! There's a rock wall, some bongos to bang on, a sliding puzzle, a swinging bridge in the middle of a wooden castle!
There are also wooden and metal xylophones to make music on and, of course swings.
There are also three baseball fields and two soccer fields and a walking trail (5mi?).
The city's recreation building is located on the left as you enter the park. We haven't visited there yet.

The pool was nice but did need a little attention because it seemed to have several leaves in the bottom of the pool. My only complaint would be that my niece rented the pool for her daughter's birthday party and the trash receptacles we're full and we had to ask for garbage bags to use for our trash. The bathrooms are absolutely filthy! The floor looks stained and nasty,none of the toilets had been flushed, toilets were dirty and long story short, they need a good clean overhaul. Come on City of Athens and let's keep our only public pool in a little bit better shape! I understand that the citizens should do their part and not be so nasty but the city does need to get a cleaning crew out there.

The facilities are awesome . They are not user friendly. The staff are a total waste of facility use and tax payers dollars. Why have something if you can't use it ? ( batting cages )

Excellent sports fields. Brand new tennis courts that are fun to play on. Large, open fields for miscellaneous recreation. Scenic walking trail. It has a 9 hole disc golf course with 2 goals at each hole so you can have an 18-hole experience if you play through twice.

I give kids dugout 4 instead of 5 stars because the moving bridge in the top level of the play area, we're the big slides start, was missing a couple panels. My 1 yr old didn't wanna walk over it. But other then that the place have grown since the last time I had been out there. They have wheelchair accessible swing, and a marry-go-round. And 2 music areas, swings, slides of all sizes for all ages. They have sections. Play areas for asorted age groups. Working restrooms, and eating areas. It really is a awesome place 4 the youngens 2 go run out energy. Really is.

This place is amazing. I am so thankful that our kids have this place to play sports. They have tons of fitness classes and childcare. They even have a walking track that you can use for free. All this in air conditioned comfort.

As a younger boy I helped in the assembly of the play equipment. I have enjoy bringing my children over the years. It is a very fun place for them to play. I am a little saddened however to see things falling apart and missing. I feel like the attention given to the upgrades,(which are fantastic) should also be given to restoring the original equipment.
