This place has TONS of machines. Plenty of free weights and a couple racks. It's run by one of the nicest guys ever. It has been a really long time since I've walked into a business and had the owner ask how my day was. That is this guy. It's clean and affordable. We were so happy to find a great gym so close to the house. You get 24-hour access. GREAT music playing while you work out. A separate cardio area. I haven't checked out the tanning aspect. Make sure to check out the wrestling show every other Saturday night also. Very very happy with all facets of this establishment.

This isn’t a paid review. I’m not “friends” with the owner, even though he’s a hell of a nice guy. Just signed up less than a week ago with my spouse and I like it here.

I hate that random people leave reviews because they read someone’s bad experience. And remember, there are three sides to every story. Each side and the truth.

Edit: We still use this gym and I still stand by my review. If you’re looking for fancy super, shiny new equipment, and bougie classes, this isn’t the gym for you. It’s a solid gym with tons of machines, free weights, and a cardio area.

Do not pay for a year membership. After paying for a year membership my job caused me to be relocated. Per the contract I provided all necessary information showing I was no longer in the state so, that I could get a portion of my money back. When I asked when I would get a portion I was told that I wouldn't. I paid almost $800 up front and got nothing back.

Was in the area for a few days and checked this gym out. The owner is a really cool guy and the gym has everything you need! They have a lat pullover machine which I haven’t seen in years. I have been working out for 20+ years, definitely worth your time.

Best owner ever, completely understanding so thrilled with the place (being better than planet fitness by a long shot). I love going and feeling comfortable, on top of the sauna and tanning bed all included in member price. Also family plans available. And a small sitting area for 1-5 kids. (No kids on equipment areas). LOVE THIS GYM AND MR BARRY!!!

Never had an issue with my contract and my fiancé and I travel for work. Owner is always friendly to us and hes shown us different ways to do exercises which I appreciate. Overall a great gym for the equipment and price, he also said he’d cancel our contract with change of address so I’m confident when we get back to HG we will have no issues. Love this gym

I seen this post before about Cosmos. I've never had a problem with Cosmos. All I know is for $25 a month per person. You get a lot compare to gym cost at some other gyms. Sure, tanning bed area could be a little better but again its included in the $25 a month. Barry cleans the place daily. So, if some things are dirty it's because a lot of nasty people don't pick up after themselves. I've been going to for 4 years. I have seen a lot of people not pick up after themselves. I've seen a lot of people not know gym etiquette of re-racking weights. There is apparently a lot of people in Hazel Green that never figured out that round peg square hole deal when they were a baby. My son signed a contract and only went for a year before joining the military. He brought his military orders to the gym and Barry canceled his membership that day with no issues. As far as signing a contract with a GYM, any GYM. When you sign that contract, they usually charge you for the duration of the contract even if you decide to quit going before the contract time is complete. Before deciding to sign a contract, I suggest paying the daily or weekly fee before signing the contract for the first month or 2. Because most that sign a 2 year contract end up going to the gym a month or 2 and then quitting. Wasting their money for the next 22 months.

Just moved to the Area. I love this gym. It has everything you could want. The owner seems like a really good dude. Friendly to all at any level of experience. 25$ a month for two year contract 35 for 1 year. This is the gym atmosphere you are looking for. My only criticism is the dumbell weight markings are all worn off so it's difficult to know what weight your using.

Great Gym I've lived here whole life been in most gyms around. Except this one. My oldest son has expressed instrest in lifting and he lives on. Charity Ln. In HG so Cosmos is super convenient they got every style and type of work out equipment ever. I mean a lot so your workouts never get boring. WOULD NOT recommend. Went to gym maybe three or four times. Was told I could try tanning beds out and see how I liked them before I committed myself. Well apparently the paper I signed, which I thought was a document for tanning / gym liability, was a contract. Gym wasn't clean. I have not been there since February 2020, COVID hit and besides that I wasn't planning to visit again anyways. They have been charging my account every since. I called several times and was told "well pay me for nine more months and you wont have to worry with it anymore" and "well you wouldn't be paying for nothing if you came in here" Horrible customer service and rude staff. I was not satisfied with COSMOS prior to the charges and rude staff.

When I lift at Cosmos I feel great. Lots of machine variety that supports any type of workout I want to do. I like to mix things up so I never plateau and Cosmos supports that. Plus, it's a friendly place to workout. Sometimes I do heavy bench and I never had a problem getting a spot. The clientele is very good about cleaning the equipment after each use which is nice in these trying times. Plus, they have pro wrestling guys coming in and out which is pretty cool. I love this gym.

The gym itself is ok (some of the cardio equipment is wore out and some of the tanning beds are cracked or missing bulbs). My problem is I was continued to be charged even after mailing a letter stating I wished to cancel my membership (was told by the owner to do this after confirming that my 2 year contract was satisfied). Now I have to go through the hassle of calling my bank and put in a fraud report and stop payment so I won't be charged again. I'm sad... I really wanted this to be a good experience but other reviewers were right about shady business practices here :(

Dude if you are going to be a douche own it. Signed up for the gym in 2018, and moved 600 miles away in February 2019. Repeatedly attempted to contact the owner via text and phone to no avail. I continued to pay the membership until February of 2020 to avoid collections, as I could not reach the owner. When I finally change my bank card, the owner sends my account to collections. I am a disabled veteran who will now have to deal with a collections agency in the middle of a pandemic.

I rarely do reviews but this establishment has pushed me to the edge. Just dont go here! Not only are the facilities not up to par in comparison to other gyms, but you have to jump through hoops to end your membership even after your 2 yrs are up! He just continues billing you without a renewal. There must be some fine print on that contract!? Then once you jump through his hoops he will make it not effective for 30 days. He will wring every last penny out of you! I think it's terrible to take advantage of people that way especially when they have done what is right and completed their 2 year agreement with no questions asked!

***BEWARE*** Company has unethical business practices. I canceled my membership in April 2016 and have continuously been billed up to this point. I have contacted the gym and they refuse to refund bank drafts after cancellation even though calls and letters of cancellation have been sent.
