Me and my husband are in here regularly and I have to say I truly adore the staff. Jarrell, Courtney, and Brittany always greet us with a smile and warmth and things like that truly make a difference. Even the cleaning staff is great, they maintain a clean facility and there is a vast array of equipment to use so it never feels too crowded. The gym is great, but the staff is what truly makes it special, please pass on our compliments!

This gym is disgusting. It is not clean both inside and out. Caked feces in toilets, caked dust in vents, excessive trash outside, sauna wood falling off, nails sticking up in sauna, overflowing trash cans, poorly stocked sanitation stations, side rooms with goodness only knows what pouring out. Completely unorganized. The manager “Tay” is absolutely out of her mind so I can see why the issues persist.

This is the worst fitness center. They don't let me cancel my membership. I'm in Korea now but they force me to come into the club or mail to their address for the cancelation. I can't send the paper mail or come into the club. I'm in Korea! They're ignoring my emails what I sent.

My agreement says "In the event that Member/Buyer's moves out of town and there exists no affiliated facility within a 15-mile radius of buyers's new location the contract or Membership agreement may be cancelled at buyer's option."

They don't follow it. It's unfair. What a scam!

I canceled my membership November 2024. And have not returned there. After 9 months they try to deduct $300 from my bank account. One in the amount of $100 and the other $200. Like I wasn't going to miss $300. Called the bank and reported fraudulent charges. Went up there and they said it was for personal training. I canceled that via email. They don't have access to the emails but you have access to everything else. I call BS.

I have had a very frustrating experience with Crunch Fitness. I canceled my personal training contract in November 2024, but I was charged five times afterward. I called multiple times (left three messages), and no one got back to me. When I finally reached someone at the front desk, I was told I had to email instead. I’ve now emailed nearly twenty times. The personal training manager admitted the trainer never actually processed my cancellation and only put the account on pause, which led to continued charges. They acknowledged it was their trainer’s mistake but are refusing to reimburse me and have since stopped responding. Based on this experience, I would not recommend joining this gym. Horrible customer service.

I've been a member of this Crunch for a while and I must say that over the last couple years the staff has improved. They usually fix broken equipment pretty quickly. I'm comfortable working out here and I've learned a lot about weight lifting. I don't feel like anyone is judging me, which is nice.

This Crunch in Montgomery AL needs the district manager and or upper management to come and walk this gym. They have only 100lb dumbell for at least 3 years. Every machine is broke, missing pieces and or not well maintained. To pay for a membership and not have the equipment accessible is a problem. Someone needs to address this problem because I feel members need some type of refund and or acknowledgement that this gym is not where it needs to be. It is regular maintenance and taking time to fix the equipment. Someone needs to take the time and really make the effort to at the minimum maintain this gym for their members.

Her name could be an acronym for a Totally Awesome Experience!!! Because TAE is who welcomed me and she is why my I brought family members to join.
I was visiting the Montgomery Crunch but I was already a member, Tae’s FIVE STAR treatment wasn’t to get me to join because I let her know I was visiting from SC where I am member and just wanted to come in and work out while I was here… she took that personal and made my visits top notch, not because she wanted me to join, she knew I was a member but because that’s who she is and that’s why I recommended joining Crunch to my family there and I recommend it to anyone reading this!!! The classes were GREAT, I was there for 10 days snd went to several, including two classes she taught!!! It has been great and whenever I’m visiting, Montgomery Crunch will be one of my go to places because of Tae~ I had a Crunch TAE ~ Totally Awesome Experience ♥️💪🏽♥️

I started with Ashley my trainer two months ago, and she is very knowledgeable of all the equipment at the facility, she is very patient also with me. I did not know how to use the all equipment at the gym, but with her help I am confident when I come to the gym to not only take the classes but to work out on the equipment. Crunch has always been my Go-To Gym for the last 2 years. I will say that since the recent changes in staff has been a plus bec customer service has improved alot. I do like the fact that they offer a wide variety of equipment but the negative to that is that the more highly used pieces are consistently OUT OF ORDER and it takes forever for them to address the issues. I don't understand why the OWNERS can't hire a active technician or number of technicians who can tackle the job and FIX things in a timely fashion. Weekly or Biweekly preventive maintenance reports will help alot and they can be used by the Repair Techs to see what's going on.
Other than that, I'd say Crunch is a pretty good gym and has potential to grow even more if the small details are addressed, and cleansing and equipment maintenance should be the 2 top priorities to help get them there

Note: One small detail that over been seeing for years is the dirty furniture up front that needs to be replaced ASAP with something that's not of the same material that collect dirt germs, and grit that makes you itch...

Edit: unfortunately after being a member a bit longer, interacting directly with the manager and visiting other locations, I had to edit my review to lower the score from a 4 to 2. Trash outside is STILL ridiculous. This location is not cleaned frequently enough given the amount of traffic it receives. The showers are full of MOLD and dirty vents. The cleaning spray is often empty at the cleaning stations on the gym floor. The toilets in the ladies locker room have caked feces that remains for several WEEKS. The rooms in the back are overflowing with random clutter. The ventilation system throughout the gym is absolutely FULL of thick dust. The trash is often left overflowing in the ladies locker room. The manager is completely delusional and will flat out gaslight members who try to bring issues to her attention. These issues are not even hard to resolve. She said the gym was clean but, if she thinks this is clean I would HATE to see what her own house looks like. This is pathetic.

Original: I just joined yesterday for the sauna and classes which is something you cannot get at PF. I got to the gym around 7p. I stayed until closing around 11p. Typical evening crowd. The sauna was working and clean. The gym & locker rooms were clean. I gave a 4/5 because there was a significant amount of trash outside of the building on the sides that needs to be cleaned up. It really looks bad. I realize Crunch may not own the building but, I would get that cleaned up ASAP since it reflects poorly on Crunch. Hopefully, that will improve and the sauna will continue working.

I really dont like this place. 2 things frustrate me. Pe I ple dont te rack the weights. To be honest the person at the front isn't doing much they could help out with that if instructed to buy what really frustrates me is the gym doesn't have clamps for the weights I had to buy my own and some of the equipment that I want to use has been out of commission for almost a month. I feel like I can do better some where else. I hate working out so when I go to workout amd something frustrates me like the equipment not working as expected or you dont have clamps, it makes me wanna quit for the day because already I wasn't in the mood. I need a gym that is prepares with everything you need to workout. Something as simple as the clamps is just unacceptable.

This gym had some pros and cons when I first visited a few weeks ago . The women’s sauna did not work. I found out by another member that it works sometimes but it was no sign on the door saying it’s not working. It was so cold in the sauna room that it would have taken a long time to warm up to the correct degree. I tried multiple times to cut the sauna heat on with the control pad on the wall but it was still cold in the sauna. This should be fixed or at least have a sign up stating out of order. Also, if it does work then the staff need to cut it on when the gym opens and keep it on during the operating hours then recheck to make sure it stays on or placed a sign on the door if it wasn’t working.

Went to tour the Crunch open house yesterda (3.24.25) and was immediately turned away at the door. The front desk attendant said the only way my friend and I could participate in the event was if one of us was already a member. Since we attended the event to inquire about a membership, we left with a sour taste in our mouths. Oh well, guess we’ll stick to PF and Orange Theory. Crunch, that was a missed opportunity!

March 2025: they're doing things like locking the doors 25 min early. I do a ten minute hydromassage due to athletic injuries. It doesn't require anything from them except to let me walk in and walk out.

The gym itself is ok in opinion, yes the sauna has been an issue being up and running consistently. The main issue for me is the "Trash" in the Parking Lot is God Awful. I caught a Flat tire here on 2 occasions. Once buy broken glass the second by a piece of metal. I brought it to the attention of the front desk. The gentleman stated between them and Aldi's next door neither will not accept Accountablity for picking up and sweeping the lot. They overcharge for membership fees. Then they won't properly close your account, instead, they will keep charging every month. I went to this gym 3 times and they charge over $200 in membership fees, when my original fee was suppose to be $26.99.
On top of this, I had to physically go to the gym 4 times just to close my membership because the associate double charge the wrong account. When I mentioned this to them they said " you still have a balance and owe us". Which I replied, " no, because you double charge me and still didn't close the account ."
Now, I am in the process of trying to get a refund for $211 overcharged to my bank. I have waited 2 months for this to get resolved and haven't received anything back. This is the worse gym experience I have ever had, save your money and go somewhere else.

I joined Crunch earlier this year for the 24/7 access and the sauna. The sauna hasn't worked in months and now the gym is no longer 24/7. Went to workout this morning at 5 when the gym is supposed to be open and it was a ghost town. If this was planned, I didn't see any notice. I went to cancel my membership on August 8th and filled out a cancelation form, they kept one half and another half was giving to me.September 6th I was billed $70 even though I came in and filled out the form a month prior and canceled it. I misplaced my receipt and I'm in a current financial hardship with medical bills pilling up and they just took additional funds that was not for that. I was going to come back at a later time but now I just rather not. I appreciate Mary doing her diligence of looking for my form, But there's no reason why my time was wasted filling out a form if they were just going to throw it away and charge me anyway. There's no integrity here and they passed the buck for me speaking with a manager everyday for a week. When and if you cancel your membership hold on to the receipt or have them do it right there in your face. That's the last dime they will ever get from me. Do not recommend.

This gym is one of the best gym that I have been to. The staff acts like real people and develop connections with the members. And the space they have for equipment is bigger than other gyms. You don’t feel like you are on top of someone else when you are trying to do a workout even if you are on the turf in the HIIT zone or pressing weights. There is no judgement from the members and most are willing to help each other out. Also when the staff walks the floor to ensure cleanliness and safety they also talk to members to see if they can help in any way.

Then there is the personal trainers. These guys/girls take this task to heart. They don’t beat around the bush and give you actual advice and exercises to help you with your goals not the generic speech or workout regime. They tailor each workout session to how you are feeling that day and are great at pushing you through what you think you can do to show you what you can actually accomplish. They even have a body scan to show where you are losing fat and building muscle.

So overall this is again one of the top gyms I have been to. Second only to LA fitness in my eyes.

Since coming to this Crunch location, I can count on one hand how many good experiences I’ve had. I understand this Crunch frequently goes through managers, but it’s clear to me that they need to keep looking. The current manager Tee, is not personable, and that is potentially driving away new members. I was a member for 2 years, but due to the continued unprofessionalism, will be getting a membership at Amped, and hope to have a better experience. They are currently trying to boost their Google reviews with giveaways, instead of making necessary changes to the gym, that would benefit all members. There is a lack of weight lifting equipment, and it’s clear that the size of the gym and equipment can’t support those who come. In addition, the gym as a whole is not clean, the floors are always dirty, and if the equipment isn’t cleaned by members, then staff won’t do it. The reviews may look good, but consider taking your money to a gym that meets cleanliness standards and has enough equipment to support their members.

It’s an amazing gym the staff is super friendly and supportive. They also push you to be your best you . Taes class is a 10/10 recommend definitely a confidence booster. Also Mary the personal trainer is a beast pushes you to keep going and stay consistent love her personality as well all around great gym don’t regret joining

They advertise a $10/month membership. You end up paying 50 something to sign up, 40 something every year as an annual fee, and then 100 something if you try to cancel your membership within a year. Then, after you wait your year to cancel, they will still charge you whatever they were gonna charge you 30 days after cancellation, which resulted in another monthly payment and annual fee coming out of my bank. The gym is almost always over crowded.

The bald over night manager named Greg , was very rude when I was trying to renew my membership . But if that wasn’t bad enough. He spoke to the workers like they were not even human . Absolutely horrific experience and I will never go back .

Do NOT sign up for this gym. My wife and I moved away and wanted to cancel our membership, but they refuse to do so unless we come in person. We have to cancel our card number so they can no longer use it.

Its ok to a certain extent, I've learned when to go and not. I don't like the atmosphere to be honest, don't have that family oriented feel.I go to 2A also once I leave there I head to crunch to tan and hydro massage 💆‍♀️. I like the fact its a 24 hour gym

If you are looking for a gym that is clean, safe (emotionally and physically) that offers flexible hours, personal trainers, encouraging instructors that keep you involved, diverse payment plans and values YOU as a member…. Crunch Fitness Montgomery is JUST that place!! Tae Watson is truly a great manager there and exemplifies all the great qualities of a Phenomenal Leader! She is an active listener, great and timely communicator, believes in covering in her employees absences (no task to beneath her), will discuss all options available to you…. You feel like you have a health and exercise program structured just for YOU. With her, you see what you get….a Champion for the little people!!!

Its a clean gym with ac, daycare (per your gym membership package), classes, and other amenities that are considerably boujee for Montgomery, Alabama.

Their one-time annual fee is decently priced, but I'm not personally a fan when I'm paying monthly in addition to it.

If you're looking for a decently priced gym with showers and a few extra things, not a bad place to go.

I've been a member for almost two years, and I started with their personal training program. They do focus their entire pitch of the place to sell you on training and the ameneties, but honestly it was a good transition into working out regularly. Since their help getting me on my feet, I quit their training and my primary criticism with the place is that their equipment is broken often and for long stretches. They have plenty of treadmills and elipticals, too many for the amount they're used, and only 4 stairmasters, 2 of which are constantly broken. None of the rowing machines are both mechanically or electrically functional as well, and have uncomfortably worn bearings. The staff is extremely unhelpful and indifferent to their equipment issue, which just adds insult to injury. I'm exploring other gym options, and am only staying for the time being because of their 24 hour access, which is their biggest draw since gyms in the area open before 7am are hard to come by in the area.

It's ok. The 29.99 membership isn't worth it. They only try to sale you on a trainer. No one shows you what machines or how to use them without offering you to purchase a trainer. At 29.99, what do I get.... I get to lay on a massage bed or go into a sauna that may not be working. It's really not wroth the extra money. The 9.99 will do.

It was horrible man😂. No workers at any desks(personal trainer desk included). Trash everywhere. 6 full trash bags near the yoga studio. The machine I tried to use was broken for some time now. This location is in the worst shape I ever seen for a gym that recently open less than 5 years ago. Hecklers walking in since nobody’s at the desk asking for spare change. I see why the folks in the know go to other gyms.

The staff has zero integrity! Every staff member knows how to open new accounts. But, when the time to cancel, some employees will say a manager needs to be present. There was no manager on duty when I went in person. I call the next day and I was told the manager is busy and will call me back. I decided to go in person again and a staff member who I talked with in the past closed my account without a problem. The employee who helped me said all employees can close accounts when requested.

I made two trips for no reason. Avoid this place at all close! 1. They have no integrity. 2. Plus, the place is falling apart anyway!

I'm cancelling my membership here. I contacted crunch two months ago because the machines I enjoy have been broken for months, literally. They claim there were working on it. Two months later the machines are still broken. They took one of the out of order signs down on one of the Stairmasters and it's still broken...it skips. I'm just waiting for someone to fall off of it for being defective.

And guess what?!! Now the Sauna is also closed.

Worst gym I've ever been to. Only thing I love are the classes. They will be missed but I will spend my money where I can get the full benefits of what I am paying for.

Wow, I went in as a guest this morning and was very impressed -- clean and had many elliptical machines open. The weight room was well organized. I'm definitely considering changing my gym membership

I have been a member for a yr now. I enjoy Crunch but recently there seems to be more broken machines than not. When I asked at the desk today about the situation, she said we are waiting for parts. Some of the machines have been down now for 5 weeks. Come on Crunch!

New member as of Jan 1st, 2023' and have visited at least 5x per week. The staff are very nice and the trainers seem to be extremely involved. The equipment is generally in excellent condition--a few broken pieces but to be expected with the amount of people working out. I paid for the top membership and have access to the massage chairs, tanning, beds and infrared sauna. The chairs are GREAT! I haven't used the tanning beds but they look nice. The infrared sauna is capped at 12 minutes--not nearly enough to realize benefits. A quick internet search for their specific equipment recommends a minimum of 15-20 minutes per session--the staff seems unable to bump the time up. Next, we have the Men's locker room: this is by far the only negative thing I have to say about the gym. There's no hot water (or at least when I tried two separate showers). Two of the door handles are broken in the showers. The sauna only goes up to 115 degrees--I stayed in for 45 minuets and barely broke a sweat. Overall, the equipment is great and the staff is friendly/knowledgable, but paying for the top membership w/ associated benefits doesn't seem to be worth it yet.
