Gentle Rain Yoga began in the home of founder Cindy Phillips in the bucolic Trimble community in Cullman County, AL. After a year, the studio moved into the City of Cullman. Cindy is an E-RYT 500 certified yoga instructor with over 11 years of yoga teaching experience. She earned her 200 hour certification in 2012 at the Savannah Yoga Center, and later earned a 300 hour certification in 2020 with Yoga Farm Ithaca. Cindy leads classes in Beginner, Gentle, Chair, Restorative, Level 1 & 2, Slow Flow, and Stress Release Yoga & teaches private lessons, striving to widen the accessibility of yoga practices to more people. Come try a class that is sure to nourish you, body, mind and spirit.

Cindy is an outstanding yoga instructor, she is very attentive to the needs of her students and always asks before class if we have specific exercises we would like for her to incorporate into the class. I started practicing with Cindy during Covid shutdown as I had recently moved to Las Vegas from AL and knew few people here. She is now the first person I pay every month. I’m 61 and want to remain as flexible and strong in mind and body as I can while avoiding injury. Cindy is knowledgeable in anatomy, the yoga practice, and in meditation. Highly recommended!

I have been wanting to try yoga for several years and decided that now is the time. I located Cindy through social media and made the call to her. Cindy was very informative, helpful and encouraging. She is a wonderful teacher and instructor and clearly talks you through each pose and teaches you the proper position, balance and form to benefit each student and for you to be the best you can be. She has brought balance, restoration and an eagerness to my well being and has helped me be a better and healthier person.
I am so thankful that I found Cindy and the new network of yogi friends I’ve made through her has been wonderful.
I’m so happy that I took the step and contacted her. I love each class and eagerly await for the next one.

I’ve been practicing with Cindy for over a year now. First is was with and for my child who was going through some medical issues. Two times a week and it was great. We felt safe, comfortable and welcomed. Not long before Covid-19 happened we switched to private lessons. We actually kept with the private lessons as we were able to be socially distant and outside. My child has since stopped doing yoga, but I now do private lessons with Cindy. She is easy to talk to and great to be around. She is a great teacher and is always looking to make sure you are comfortable in class and at your pace and stretch level.
