I'm extremely disappointed with how this swim school handled my billing and withdrawal process. I notified them in advance that I would be submitting a withdrawal form for my daughter.

Despite that, I was charged $177 on August 1st. When I asked why, I was told August had five weeks. However, their own 30-day notice policy only covers four weeks, not five. I was then offered a makeup class, even after clearly stating that I would be out of state and unable to attend. Also their withdrawal form states a makeup class cannot be used after the last day stated on the withdrawal form.

That solution made no sense and felt like a way to avoid addressing the real issue. When I asked to escalate the matter, the manager rudely told me there was no one above her and claimed not to know how to contact corporate. I've since tried reaching out to corporate myself and have heard nothing back.

This experience showed me that they do not value customer service or accountability. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

We couldn't be happier with our goldfish experience! All of the instructors are wonderful and very knowledgeable. Our daughter is actively excited for lessons every week. Her swimming skills have come extremely far since she started lessons and her confidence in the water has as well. We could not recommend them more.

I had no idea this was even here! It is so cute! The pool is perfectly warm. It feels safe. The staff is welcoming. It has dressing rooms, showers to rinse off when finished with lessons or Family Swim, hair dyers as well as swimsuit dryers. We will be coming here year round! Did I mention they’re open year round?!!

We absolutely love this swim school for our 2-year-old daughter! From day one, the staff has been incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. It’s always the same friendly faces at the same times, which creates a comforting and consistent environment—not just for the kids, but for the parents too.

The classes are well-structured and follow the same routine each time, which is so helpful for little ones who thrive on predictability. There are never any surprises, and that has made our daughter feel safe and confident in the water.

One of our favorite parts of the program is the family swim days—they’re such a fun, relaxed way to enjoy time in the water together outside of class. We look forward to them every week!

We’re so grateful to have found this swim school and highly recommend it to any parent looking for a supportive and consistent place for their child to learn and grow in the water.

We had a great experience here for two of our kids. The instructors Kylie and Isaac were phenomenal and my kids progressed during our time here. There are always atleast 2 (most of the time 3) instructors/lifeguards watching for safety and instructional purposes. The class sizes are super small (mostly either 1 on 1 but we had a max of 3 kids in class once) so each kid can be instructed and progress as they need. I loved that the instructors stayed consistent throughout the week. The facilities are really clean, the water is warm, the shower and dressing areas are great. We have even gone back for family swim times because it is such a fun place to be. I highly recommend doing swim lessons here.

My daughter is overcoming her fear of water and learning how to safely float and swim. Her confidence has grown in a little over a month and I couldn’t be happier with the progress. If you have a child who is fearful I highly suggest starting with just the private lessons. Yes it is expensive but I believe it is worth the cost. You can always change it once you see progression. But I believe the extra time with the instructor is what has brought my daughter so far so quickly.

I am not the happiest with my experience. I specifically asked when we signed up if my child would see the same coach every week. I received a resounding YES unless the coach is sick or on vacation. He has not seen the same coach since his first lesson. And he has been there, the original coach. Nor the same any of those other coaches. Also there are only supposed to be 4 kids at the most per lane per lesson, there was 5. It’s just not the experience I was hoping for. We will be going elsewhere.

We've been going since January and love it. I have two ages going at the same time, 4 and 7. It's up to 4 max in each class with 1-2 instructors. There is a lifeguard on constant rotation and there is also someone walking around ready to do observations for any student that needs it. They update the progress each lesson and always let you know what they're still working on and also what they're doing well. You can see their progress on the app and you can also let them know, through the app, if you have to miss a class and you'll receive make up token. You have a year to use the make up token but it has to be used while you're still a member, which makes sense.

My kids look forward to it every week and it's fun to watch them grow their confidence in the water.

Bonus, they are also learning how to navigate wet bathing suits and get ready on their own in different ways. 😃

Our girls have progressed far beyond expectations. The teachers have been phenomenal and have really helped them conquer their fears and grow a passion for swim! They also do a good job of helping kids who are panicking or extremely fearful by adding an extra teacher to the lane so that the other kids aren’t impacted for their lesson and they can 1:1 help the nervous kiddo.

My daughter has been attending Goldfish group classes for 1 year now. She has progressed from not wanting to put her face in the water (at 3 years old) to now doing backstroke and freestyle independently. My husband and I are very impressed with her progress! She will be trying out for summer league team next year!

The staff and facilities are very nice! They have shampoo, hair dryers, and diapers for guests. We have had favorite instructors and some that haven’t been her favorite. But the friendly staff, has worked with us and even helped re-book classes and make-up classes. We really enjoy coming to classes during the day when it isn’t so crowded. We have gotten a great value and our daughter loves swimming now!

I would give this place a negative 100 rating if I could.

We took our granddaughter (toddler) to her very first swim lesson today. After the instructor got her in the pool, he let her float while he held her up. He then set her on a little step and turned chatting with another swim instructor in the next lane. My granddaughter steps in, not knowing any better and immediately starts drowning (she is underwater and struggling) less than a foot away from the instructor while he engages in conversation. He had no clue this baby was drowning!

I rushed in, yelling and going for my granddaughter, he notices my yelling, turns around and lifts her from the water. This all happens in less than a minute of her very first time in their pool. This little girl is traumatized.

We get her and immediately go to the counter and cancel anymore lessons for her. They did agree to refund the money we had already paid them, but their negligence is unforgivable in my eyes. The instructor was young, but where was the supervision? Where were the adults?

I do not recommend anyone take someone they love to this place. They are irresponsible, lack supervision and in my opinion dangerous.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE USE THESE PEOPLE.

We've done lessons and a jump start clinic - highly recommend both. Family swim times are amazing - my swimmers beg to go every week to play and show me their skills.
I have two swimmers in the 5-12 classes and they both love going to swim lessons. We all love the swim skills and the confidence they are gaining. The staff is awesome - welcoming and encouraging. My kids display their level up ribbons to family and friends with pride.
I appreciate all the (parent) interactions I've had with staff - everyone is polite, friendly, helpful, happy to help and get back to me as needed.
And last but not least my kids feel community at Goldfish swim school. "There's mr/ms !! hi!!!"

The employees don't communicate with each other.
We were a customer for a few months, and unfortunately, my toddler seemed to hit a wall in not wanting to have anything to do with the classes all the sudden. We got to the point to where she flat out refused to do it, with screaming and crying every time. Kylie, the general manager saw everything on one of the last classes, and was talking with me (mom) on the pool deck about how kids have bad days just like adults and how she understands and that this can just be converted into a makeup token for a better day, etc. I told her it's gotten worse and she said that they can waive our 30 day cancellation notice, given the circumstances. She seemed very nice and understanding. She told us to go inside and talk to Val at the front desk, and she'd take care of it. After that, the only person I could get a hold of was Val.
Later that week, I realized I had already been charged for the next month, and I knew that there was no way we'd be able to use it. I called and spoke with Val and she said she'd get back with me. Never did. I called again a few days later (I get people forget, it happens) and was told no one was there that I could speak to and to leave a message for a return call. No return call happened. Finally, I think it was the third try calling again, I got a hold of Val and was told I could do two options: 1- use the charge as makeup credits, 2-get reimbursed.
I told Val that it'd be best to get reimbursed unfortunately, because I don't know when we'll have a willing toddler to go back in the water.
Val said she understood and I should see my reimbursement in 7-10 business days.

Fast forward two weeks later, I called this morning to inquire on the status of my reimbursement and spoke with Courtney, the sales manager from what she told me, and said she'd return my call in a few hours.
Surprisingly, I actually did get a return call, so that was nice. She said that she spoke with Kylie and what was offered to me was makeup credits. I told her what Val said, and she asked if I was aware Goldfish doesn't offer refunds/reimbursements. She then asked me if I signed the agreement when we first enrolled. I really don't care for passive aggression, especially when a business can't keep their own stories in line with each other.
Miss Courtney finally said that she put in the reimbursement and I'll see it within 3-5 business days.

If I had never called to follow up, I never would have had neither make-up credits, nor my money back. Their poor processing (or lack of) of financial and business protocols is not at all how a business should operate. Very poor communication not only with the customer, but internally as well leaves me today, deciding that we will not be returning, regardless of how my little one feels about it.

I will say that her actual instructor, Ava has been very sweet and kind, and while my daughter has enjoyed seeing her consistently, there really wasn't much of any progression in swim skills...

Try this place out if you're curious, but it's not for everyone.

My grandson is loving the Goldfish Swim School. They only teach in small classes, so each student gets quality time. Very organized and streamlined. At the end of class, they speak to each parent to tell how the child is doing and what they are having trouble with. They hand out ribbons when you advance. They have showers at one end of the pool to wash their hair and bodies free of the chlorine. Clean individual changing rooms where they can lock the door and feel safe, not little closets with a curtain. A machine that wrings and almost completely dries their swimsuit in under 10 seconds as well as a hair drying station.
Also, I love that for the parents, they have a gigantic picture window and chairs where the parents can watch their swimers. Very colorful, bright, and clean facility.

Two years of summer lessons, countless hours in friends' pools while living in FL, and my daughter reached 10 yrs old without being able to do a basic crawl because of her anxiety getting water in her eyes. We moved here in Jan and when I saw GSS, I was desperate. They worked a miracle. One jump start clinic (one week) and less than a month afterwards, she went from glider 1 to glider 2, and is close to advancing to glider 3 after a few weeks.  I know this is a long review,  but I wanted to reach anyone who is like me, and has tried more traditional methods of swim lessons. Their safety protocols are outstanding.  There are 2 teachers (usually) per class, which only has up to 4 students. They seem to know how to teach to remove fear from both child and anxious parent. The facility is amazing. Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth it if you have a similar situation to mine. The negative reviews seem to stem from a lack of understanding the procedures (I always read the fine print on everything). The staff have always been polite and courteous. There was one incident when they had to cancel a class because of unforeseen circumstances and they were very accommodating. Things happen. I'm not affiliated with them in any way nor do I know any of the staff personally. I'm just a regular customer who is happy that her girls are finally swimming.

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone ! The instructors don’t know how to swim , most couldn’t even swim the distance of the lane in a simple back stroke , once they found out that my child was leaving ( 30 day notice as per their rules ), they refused to move her on, yet advanced all others ( even after telling others she is the best swimmer ). Always something . She went from 3 stars down to 2 all month long . Plus , their ability to schedule is HORRIFIC!!! Classes are super hard and at horrible times . Not 1 class for anything during the day , all starting at 430 pm or later with select dates . Plus , there is no wait list , ANd when your child advances you have to choose another time and date ! You can’t ever keep a schedule! Not to mention the hidden charges ! We did everything they told us too and then they tried to charge us an additional $35.00! Their excuse being “ well your end date was after X date - that they put down as the end date !
In all honesty , wait for Dublin , or the Y, or even Madison hospital ( which also has swim lessons ), and avoid all this . It’s not worth it .

We signed up for a free family swim day for my two children (3 and 1 years old). We had a great time! There are changing rooms and lockers to store our belongings. The pool area and water was a nice comfortable temperature. They had toys and floatation devices in the pool for the children to use and play with. The staff were all very friendly and there were at least 2 lifeguards in the pool area at all times. I would definitely consider signing up for swim lessons in the future. Thanks for letting us enjoy this experience!

Disappointed with the teaching structure.

I signed my 6 yr old up for the jumpstart program which was 5 consecutive days of swim lessons 50 mins/day according to my confirmation email after paying $200...
We live about 35 minutes away from the facility which is not too far but is enough to matter. I don't think there was one day out of the 5 days that they were actually in the water the entire 50 minutes of class the classes were about 30 minutes long actually in the water which was really disappointing. I'm not sure what the other 20 minutes out of the 50 was supposed to be used for, but I feel like it could have been used still teaching my child what he needed to practice on rather than us changing clothes and leaving during the last 20 minutes. I probably would not have paid $200 for five 30 minute lessons as I don't really think that's enough time to gain the child's focus on actually learning to swim. His teacher gave very limited feedback other than "he needs to work on holding his breath" which could have been practiced in the list 20 mins I paid for. Whenever I went inside the pool deck to pick him up on day 3 she didn't say anything to me at all he just got out of the pool he showered off and then we left...

Now I want to say how incredibly nice everyone that works at the Madison location is every time we went there for class. Customer service is top notch. The facility was also really clean and the design of the building was perfect for the Madison area.

The best part is the pool is 4 ft deep all around so it's perfect for teaching the kids to swim while having fun with lots of pool toys available. Plus, the lifeguards are constantly keeping an eye on all of the kids to ensure everyone is safe so we only have great things to say and really enjoy our experiences each week we go!!!

The staff are very friendly and facility top notch but the length of instruction and curriculum not the best. My daughter was in the water maybe only 5 minutes in the water for a 25 minute class due to teacher to student ratio. Typical class size is 4 students and ages can range from young to older. My daughter was 5 and would have kids as old as 10 in her class at one time. They could all barely fit in the swim lane. After a few months of instruction at $140 month she was not improving due to lack of time in the water. I switched to another swim facility for private lessons. Also, I had two makeup sessions (total value $70) that I couldn’t use after I stopped paying the monthly membership. That was disappointing as well.
