Overall the gym is SO GOOD, but the Manager of this establishment sucks and needs to be fired. He doesn’t do good job at all with updating/responding to his members. The employees are just as clueless but are very nice and respectful especially the black guy and the blonde. They made sure I was always okay and everything is good, but their manager is Wack!

Jordyn was very helpful when walking me through the process for my first session. I had a free session which I enjoyed, because it allowed for me to see if this was for me. After trying a yoga workout I know I will definitely continue enjoying this concept. The combination of heat and yoga is the way to go. You can control the temp in the sauna which is great for those who need it cooler or want it hotter (I think the hottest it went was 130F). I would recommend this, it will s a great way to feel like your work out is actually working.

I just rejoined Hotworx in July, and I am so glad I did. Mallory was very helpful in getting me signed up again, and everyone there has been friendly and supportive. The gym is always clean and welcoming, and signing up for workouts on the app is quick and easy. There are several different 40-minute isometric workouts to choose from, including yoga and a core workout, and two 15-minute rowing or cycling workouts. I enjoy the video instructors for each of the workouts, and I always look forward to the classes when I go.

Finding a workout gym with the benefits of location, parking, Covid protections were all important no choosing hot works as my regular gym. Other gyms within close proximity did not offer What I was saying has significant benefits as well as the owners form of interaction, knowledge, high energy and owner focus on member satisfaction.
During my visit, speaking with the franchise owner Directly, I voiced my concerns with regard to my own lack of familiarity or due diligence on the underlying use of science and technology behind HotWorx.
In response to my concerns, the owner promised me a month to month membership and the option to leave at any time with no penalty. Because of Covid in so many gyms closed at that point in time I reasoned this set up, The owners personal Assurance and guarantee of no penalty in trying, and I desire to support a new local business, joining at that time worth the risk.
What I did not know at the time of my joining was that it would be a musical chairs type of management on site during most of my visits to the facility. The manager of the Tuscaloosa hot works location often was there in the beginning of my membership period boat as the franchise owner got apparently closer and closer to the opening of her Trussville location, staffing was seemingly being picked and pulled from her Tuscaloosa and UAB locations to assist with the Smith opening of the third location, in Trussville. As a somewhat regular gym user by this time things began changing at the gym. At first a constant level of staff changes, (there was only one attendant so it was very noticeable) cleanliness, equipment wipe down, shower and changing area unkempt and lacking what I had come to expect which in the past had been customary supplies for the showering, Knobs missing for controlling speaker sound, less and less staff availability and Something I had brought to the owners attention during my initial walk-through with her was that there was exposed electrical equipment in close proximity to the shower, ineffective moisture removal in the showering area Which may or may not have been within code, the Open electrical equipment adjacent to running water and significant amounts of moisture began to concern me. I had mentioned my concern on 4 to 5 different occasions requesting a manager to contact me for the purpose of perhaps explaining the potential danger but definitely ensure a plan was in place to address this safety concern as use of the gym showering facility was growing. Additional deferred maintenance issues arrows and ignored giving the appearance of a lack of cash flow, based on my experience owning my own safety sensitive service business, this seemed the most likely scenario.
With no return phone calls and a lack of responding to/cleaning up/maintaining the facility I made the decision to notify the staff of my intent to end my membership immediately prior to my Membership anniversary in the start of a new month and additional membership charge for the next month.
I made s intent of giving notice of my termination of membership. With each attempt, the third attempt in writing end each with a request to speak with the franchise owner who I had only seen on one occasion during my prior month use of the gym (she was speaking with a staff member) as I stood nearby but not within earshot however the owner nodded in acknowledgment of my waiting to speak with her, she answered a cell call, terminated her conversation and left the building. The purpose of my wanting to speak with her-to voice my safety concerns and remind her of our agreement has not been afforded to this point.
60 days later the owner, communicating through the location attendant denied her promise. She added I would be charged 2 Additional months, “per the contract.” This entire process resulted in five months of gym membership, unused and no loss of confidence in her keeping her word when she needed members. This saddens me even now.

No, Hotworx is much hotter than Bikram Yoga. You can adjust the temperature and volume in each sauna. I prefer 115-120°F, but they recommend 120-125°F for the best results. There are usually 6 saunas, but machines are in the last two saunas. The first four offer 40-minute isometeic sessions. The last two are for 15-minute seated hot spin or hot blast HIIT sessions. There's also an air conditioned FX zone with free weights.

On my first visit, Jen & Joe were super friendly and showed my cousin and I around the studio before our session. The saunas are extremely clean and we both really enjoyed the sweaty work out! It was over before we knew it. I am excited to explore Hotworx in other cities since their membership includes a ton of states. Highly recommend!

It is a great concept and so I can not speak for all franchises. You will do great unless you ever want to cancel, even if you are moving out of state or it doesn’t fit into your budget. No one returns calls/emails. I have been trying to cancel for two months now yet they are still taking my money however no one returns my calls or emails. I have even gone to the center and the person I need to speak with is never there. Extreme poor customer service

Can I just say the service I received at this business was remarkable. By far some of the best service I’ve received from any gym. Hunter Smith I believe was the manager and was more than helpful. I will definitely recommend to all my friends and family.

Sauna workouts are fun, esp in winter. Staff is nice. Price point isn’t bad for 24 hour access, but instructional videos do not change often enough, app is clunky, and cancellation process takes forever + you have to give 60-day notice to cancel.

I have been going to HotWorx since December 2017. I haven't stuck with a constant work out/gym since I can remember, but have been so pleased with my consistency with HotWorx! I love the length of time of the workouts and feel like I can push myself harder because I know it will be over soon. I love how the trainers say, "more workout for less time". Everyone who works at the midtown location is super friendly! Royal is one of my favorites because he is so genuine, kind, and seems to really love working there and has an overall wonderfully cheerful presence!

This is my favorite kind of exercise and I am so glad someone created this concept. As a dancer I have back and joint probs so this gives me the intensity of a great workout without hard impact and stress on my body. The staff is super helpful and always very friendly. My one complaint would be that there is only one shower for both men and women but I see myself coming here for a long time!

Hotworx is the best gym I’ve ever been to! With the amazing staff and the flexible hours, this gym has something for everyone. Every time I go, the staff has always been so nice. The general manager Hunter was so helpful when I was on the fence about joining. Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!

This is a good gym for people who are new to fitness and for those who want to get into a regular routine! The scheduled classes gave me a concrete workout routine and time so I didn’t have to worry about what I was doing and when. However, I don’t see it as a long-term gym.
I have been a member since April and the workout videos have not changed since I joined... I often would do my own routines while in the sauna to get the benefits but lately have been just doing my workouts at home. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to find a spot in class during peak hours.
The general manager needs up-training on customer service and politeness. When I signed up for my membership he paced from foot to foot, seemed erratic and like he didn’t know what he was doing. He is very by the books and to the point when he speaks, to the extent where it is even rude.
There was a policy change where members were not allowed to use the bands for the buns class .... first paying $60/month and I can’t use the equipment for the gym? Note that this policy is not in place at the Vestavia location... second when I asked about the policy, hunter repeated multiple times “you can buy them!” And refused to say anything else. Extremely rude seeing as I am paying so much and was not rude to him when asking questions.
All in all, I would not recommend this gym. Saunas are available at other gyms and There are other means of obtaining daily workouts.

Simply put, everything about this place is amazing. Not only are the workouts intense and enjoyable, but the variety of the classes offered and the convenience of 24/7 access to said classes put Hotworx above the rest. My favorite one I’ve tried is the hot warrior. It’s an advanced isometrics class that doubles as a full body workout as well. The staff is equally as phenomenal as the classes offered. Both Hunter, the manager, and his employee Royal are some of the friendliest and most professional people I have ever met. They treated me and everyone around me with the upmost respect. I recommend to anyone who lives/works in the downtown Birmingham area to try it out immediately.

Fun workout and a nice sweat! However, the manager, Hunter, is one of the most immature, irresponsible, and rude people I’ve ever come in contact with. His arrogant attitude towards women and ignorance about how to manage a fitness studio are front and center at the midtown location. I switched from this studio to another where I pay triple the monthly rate all in effort to distance myself from the Hotworx franchise. I’ve never in my life left a negative business review because I realize one bad apple shouldn’t spoil the whole bunch and sometimes people have bad days, but Hunter’s actions and management style are inexcusable.

Great place to add to my exercise routine! I burned up to 400 calories in the HOTROW excercise workout in a Sauna!!! Intense! They also have HOT Yoga and Pilates. 24/7 access for members. This downtown location is great for people that work around the area! Never knew a place like this existed. Talk to Mike or Anna and set up a Free VIP session. They are the best.

I love this place!!! Right behind the Kirklin Clinic in the middle of 5th Ave., S, HotWorx is Brand New Chic Hot Studio for all kinds of workouts!! Hot Yoga, Hot cycle, and Hot Band Resistance, each workout is in its own little InfraRed Sauna Room (mine was set at 125 degrees.). I got this session for free from an invite from Facebook. The Staff was very informative and polite.
Michael explained all the specials and membership offers, and I thought it was really cool they have an app members use to schedule their sessions. Also, members can come anytime- Literally 24/7. There’s a code for the door and a security alarm if you feel in danger.
