Gymnastics centerAbout the Club
Huntsville Gymnastics has been the leading gymnastics center in North Alabama since it opened in 1993. We offer a wide range of class times for all ages, while maintaining the lowest coach/student ratios in the area.
Our team program turns out top-notch gymnasts at all levels, bringing home over 50 Gold Medals at State this past year, but it is our recreational program, the boys and girls who come for just an hour or two a week, for which we are best-known.
We focus on teaching gymnastics skills in the best possible environment. We maintain very small teaching groups. We believe these are the keys to our success, and the reason for our continual growth over the last 28 years. We warmly invite you to come by to register at any time

The most important aspectβthe instructionβhas been mostly good.
However, their outdated registration processes are so burdensome thatβs they are bordering on prohibitive. Itβs not the 1980s anymore. Making people spend 2 hours to sign up in person, even if you are just continuing in your current classes, seems intentionally difficult. Why not just allow people to register online like every other youth sport or organization? It is almost as if they are intentionally screening out families that canβt afford to spend an entire Monday morning signing up their children.
CORRECTION: I made my initial posting while standing in line. I estimated it would take me 2 hours to get through the line. The owner correctly called me out that the wait wasnβt 2 hours. My wait was 1 hour and 48 minutes (9:17-11:05).

Great gymnastics- but an absolutely horrible registration process. I arrived 10 minutes after 9 AM today and was surprised to see the line wrapped around the inside of the building 3x, and then out the door. We waited almost 2.5 hours to register my child. Everyone around me was beyond frustrated, and some mothers had to leave because they had infants or small children that could not handle waiting for that long. I called a friend, who was told she could leave a voice message to enroll since she was out of town, and she said that each time she called it would just hang up and wouldn't allow her to leave a message. I am assuming the voice mailbox was full, and that was only an hour or so after registration opened.
I saw a review from earlier today, and the owner said they have tried enrollment software systems before and it came with problems. I feel like the owner needs to consult with other dance studios in the area that have success using online enrollment and registration for multiple branches/locations. Something has to give, because this enrollment process is going to turn people away. It's unacceptable that someone should have to wait in a line for 2.5 hours just to re-register a current student.

When I spoke to the owner about an issue I had, he immediately became defensive and dismissive. He stated that I was the only complaint in x amount of people/years, which apparently justifies not truly hearing my concerns and I know for a fact is not true because I spoke with others who have also had poor experiences. The way the owner conducted himself during our conversation really made me rethink taking my daughter to this business. I am very understanding of mistakes and oversight. However, when oversight happens, taking the time to fully understand the issue and taking responsibility for it, is good business. He also informed me that one of the employees told him that she did follow up with me when in fact, she did not. Whatever she told him did not align with my phone, email, and voicemail records but he did not want to hear any of that. It was clear that he had already heard from the woman at Hampton Cove and had made his mind up about what happened. Therefore, during our call, he was completely non-receptive. I have been on 3 waitlists since October 2022. I was an oversight on the first one, I was not given a proper follow up or given important information on the second one, and the third list is now null and void. I was only bringing my grievances to light in order to find a remedy so that my daughter could start gymnastics with them and to let the owner know what happend so that he had the opportunity to improve any holes in his business process so that what happened to us does not happen to any one else. I was treated like Karen for doing so. Even if I could not have gotten my daughter in despite the issues, had the owner listened to understand, took responsibility for their part of the issue, and just sincerely apologized, I would have been sad but completely satisfied by the way it was handled. If you get in and have zero issues with them, I'm sure this is a wonderful place to be. But, if you are like us and have a not so good experience, you might as well find somewhere else because the owner won't listen to it. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Huntsville Gymnastics is awesome. They work well with our daughter. She absolutely loves it and just started competing. She has developed and learned so much from the coaches. We have no complaints they are friendly and communication from them is great. We would recommend anyone wanting to do gymnastics to take their child there.

My daughter started out at the Huntsville Gymnastics Center, attended classes at the Madison location for years and she is back at the HGC, completing her first year on the Huntsville Gymnastics team. At first, she was a little intimidated working with official "team" coaches, but the camaraderie of the team girls and the care from the coaches, I believe, are what she loves, as well as being challenged at every session to improve and that the results are worth it. They work hard, but you can see and feel the excitement and encouraging environment they are in here. I think that sometimes you don't see what you've been blessed with until you compare it with other gyms. We knew it was a great program as she has progressed through it, but when you see their overall strength and fitness, cleanness of routines, professionalism and respect, and team spirit they are taught relative to other programs, you realize you may have taken it for granted.

Both my girls have taken gymnastics as HGC since they were very young. They have top notch coaches and train them to be the best athletes that they can be. Highly recommend checking them out if interested in gymnastics!

My daughter has been with HGC for 8 years now, and we cannot say enough about the positive experience we have had there. They are her second family. Her teammates are her best friends, and she prefers being at the gym than just about anywhere else. Her coaches love and encourage her while setting achievable expectations for her. They are focused on not only the sport, but also making sure the kids are safe, healthy, and focused on school. I could talk about it all day. We love it!!

We've been going to Huntsville Gymnastics Center for about 4 years now after moving from a gym in Nashville. My daughter absolutely loves this gymnastics center, and as a parent, I couldn't be happier with our experience here. From the moment we walked in, it felt like joining a family rather than just another gym. The staff goes above and beyond to create a warm, supportive environment where every gymnast feels valued and encouraged even when something seems really tough and insurmountable.
One thing that stands out is their commitment to safety. They ensure that training is conducted at a steady pace, prioritizing proper technique and form to prevent injuries. It's gymnastics, so there are definitely injuries from time to time, but I think they really try to work on conditioning as a baseline before trying out crazy skills they aren't ready for.
What truly sets this gym apart is the genuine care they have for each gymnast. Whether it's providing personalized feedback, cheering them on during competitions, or simply offering a word of encouragement, it's evident that they are invested in the success and happiness of every child.
Overall, I can't recommend this gymnastics center highly enough. It's not just a place for gymnastics training; it's a community where my daughter feels supported, challenged, and inspired to reach her full potential. We're grateful to be a part of it.

We love HGC, my daughter has been in classes for about a year, the coaches and staff are wonderful!!! I have enjoyed watching my daughter grow and can't wait to see what is to come!! My daughter happens to be double jointed in multiple places and that can either be a blessing or a curse, choosing a gym for her is more difficult to ensure its a blessing and not an injury waiting to happen. HGC is the only place I would put her in the area, she is being slowly taught proper strengthening and flexibility to avoid injury 5-10yrs from now. Her younger sister just joined the mommy & me class and both look forward to class and love their coaches, everyone is available should we need something, we couldn't ask for more!!!

We could not be happier with this place! The structure and method to slowly advance the athletes as they become strong enough to learn and not to rush them into dangerous maneuvers is perfect for my daughter. She is excited to go to class every week!

Our daughter has been taking classes for about two years now and loves HGC. The staff has always made my daughter feel welcomed and they seem to be able to bring out the best in her. Our son started at HGC this summer and he loves it as well.

Love it! Thanks, James for giving our kids a safe, encouraging, and demanding environment to learn gymnastics. Both my 8 yr old boy and 6 yr old girl asked specifically to come back this fall. Keep up the great work.
