I really loved trying yoga with Casey Porter, so I decided to try again with a new instructor. With Katie Holbrook we didn't really feel welcomed. I have started practicing for my mental and physical health. When we arrived she asked us our experience level and we were honest and it felt like she did not want us there because we weren't as advanced in our practice. She continued to state how difficult the class would be and stopped speaking as if expecting us to say never mind. She spoke discouragingly as if we wouldn’t be able to keep up with her. As a studio that states they are inclusive and all levels are welcome, we really expected to feel welcomed and it was the opposite. We paid the same amount as everyone else there and even though I may be a beginner, I should be allowed to express my practice the way everyone else gets to. I would come back but I don’t believe I will try again with Katie Holbrook.

Katie Holbrook, Elizabeth, Becca and among many others teaching at kindred are an absolute grace. Would highly recommend to anyone who’s willing to put in mindfulness for themselves. The wisdom and patience that is continuing from all of this is amazing. Thank you guys for you.

I cannot say adequately how wonderful it has been to practice yoga at Kindred, so conveniently located in Midtown. The instructors are all terrific, and they each bring to the studio a unique perspective and style of teaching. The classes are diverse and the curriculum well-balanced, hosting athletic power classes and nourishing restorative sessions alike. Experienced yogis and new students both will feel welcome and engaged at Kindred. The studio itself is lovely and lush with plant life, and the heating technology is pleasantly effective when used during the power yoga classes. (How convenient that the studio offers complementary towels for cooling and drying off.) We all could use to breathe deeper and find in our bodies buoyancy, healing, and a bit more grace. I can promise you'll find just this on your mat at Kindred Yoga.

Kindred is my favorite yoga studio and one of my favorite spaces in all of Mobile. I'm not a typical yoga-goer but at Kindred, I feel so safe and welcomed that for the first time in my life I truly love yoga. Kindred's teachers are open, communicative, and warm. There's an easy sense of belonging and community here. I've attended Kindred Yoga, Kindred Power, Kindred Yin and many workshops here and highly recommend them all. If you need a yoga home or want to explore, Kindred is for you.

Such a nice space with a kind owner who led a wonderful class. Recommend this space for those who are new to yoga or have practiced for years. I am a RYT500 and YTT leader based in Denver.

Kindred is a space of tranquility in the midst of Midtown. The individualism of the teacher makes each class different, yet they maintain a connection of togetherness to ensure the vibe is warm and inviting.

My favorite class is Kindred Immersion; an intermediate level- for sure!

LoFi Yin always has the greatest chill music and flow to start the week off in a nirvana state of mind.

Love this yoga studio. There’s a little something for everybody here. The practice space is one of the best anywhere on the Gulf Coast.

I thought I hated yoga until I went to Kindred. The instructors are wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable. The classes are always different while still building upon what you learned in the previous class. The community and people who practice here are so lovely. I never thought I’d ever have a membership to a yoga studio, but now I’m here at least three days a week. I couldn’t ask for more from a yoga practice. Super thankful for Kindred and everything the instructors do!

I had the pleasure of attending a session at Kindred with a group I mentor with. I am so happy to say that I truly enjoyed every minute. Allison is so kind, she meets you where you are and is so knowledgeable on yoga and breath work. Can not wait to attend on my own in the future!

Kindred is my most favorite space to practice yoga in town! Elizabeth and Alison have curated the most beautiful space that really encapsulates the minimalist, peaceful atmosphere and experience you have while doing a practice there. The studio is community oriented and they have events monthly (live music on Fridays, book club, monthly workshops, wine tastings, volunteering/fundraising opportunities, and a community pot luck to name a few!) And there are classes for everyone! From gentle yin, to slower non-heated and heated power yoga, there is a practice here literally for every body, age and skill level. Be sure to stop by and see it for yourself- you won't be disappointed :)

Elizabeth was so informative and helpful with tips and the “whys” of each pose. Perfect combo of a good workout and a great stretch. I highly recommend the hot yoga!

I was lucky enough to attend a class here on their first day and it was so wonderful! Both of the owners have made this into a peaceful and welcoming refuge. Elizabeth’s energy brought me a yoga experience I’d never had before. I can’t wait to spend each week in this magical place!

Elizabeth is the BEST!!! I usually don’t like to try new things alone but she made me feel so welcomed! I love that yoga was just yoga not talking about getting skinny like some yoga classes do. The space is gorgeous and definitely worth it!

Such a beautiful space, and the best instructors! They are all so welcoming and inclusive, and offer so many tips to make poses work for wherever you are in your yoga practice. It’s been a while since I’ve attended a yoga class, and I left feeling so relaxed and energized at the same time! So excited to have Kindred in Midtown 🧡
