Snap Fitness – Calera, AL

Snap Fitness in Calera has honestly been such a great find. I love that it’s open 24/7 — it makes it easy to fit a workout in no matter what kind of day I’ve had. The space is always clean, the equipment’s solid, and the atmosphere is super comfortable and welcoming.

One thing I really appreciate is that there are two separate workout rooms, so if you want a little extra privacy or a quieter space, you’ve got that option. It never feels crowded or chaotic — just relaxed and easy to enjoy.

And I have to say, the owner really goes above and beyond. He’s always around checking in, chatting with members, and making sure everything’s running smoothly. You can tell he genuinely cares about the gym and the people in it — always helpful, always kind.

If you’re in or around Calera and want a gym that’s convenient, clean, and has great people behind it, this is the one.

I have been a member at Snap Fitness for several months and have enjoyed my membership so far. Jesse does a great job keeping the gym clean, and I have noticed that when things break he’s very quick to have the issue fixed. I appreciate that the gym and all bathrooms stay clean. Other members have all been kind and courteous. It’s not a huge gym but you have enough to get what you need. I feel like the price point is very fair for the product you receive.

This gym has been awesome for the year I have been attending here. The owner is very professional and welcoming to the gym. The equipment stays in great shape year round and it is very clean. The environment is very positive and it isn’t really crowded either. I have watched the owner come in and really put hard work into keeping the place organized. So after the last owner was doing a awful job the new owner jesse came in and fix alot if stuff he listened to the members. Fix the projector room. I’m only on my free trial and I already feel so safe at this gym. Jesse is so down to earth and personable, he truly makes the gym feel comfortable and unproblematic. He has also gone to lengths to renovate the gym and make it a safe space for all, something I value a lot as a woman. I plan on getting a membership once my free trial is over, and I can’t thank him enough for extending his kindness to me to give me a personal tour and to offer up his support if I have any issues. Outstanding gym. Has everything you in a nice size space that doesn’t make you feel like you’re in an auditorium. Easy and safe to get in and out on your time schedule.

Back in the 2010s, I tried this place twice several years apart and never felt welcome or safe, but under Jeese's new management I have rejoined and been using Snap Fitness for over 3 months now. The rates are fair, the camera's keep your protected, and the access is easy. He has also done some work inside to make it a little nicer. Would recommend.

I had a membership at Calera Snap Fitness for probably about a year. Management is very poor at communicating, taking care of equipment, and canceling your membership when requested. I canceled my membership in May of 2020 and still got billed for June, July, and August. I had to put a stop payment on my account and they changed their merchant name so they could start billing me again. I am not the only one this was done to. Since my email in May I was also contacted two other times about my membership and needing payment. I reiterated that my account should already be canceled and they proceeded to tell me it is now canceled but do not mention a word about my refund.

This gym is horrible. If I could give it negative stars I would. Initially I had to drop by several times for someone to be there for me to join. I should have known then that this was a terrible establishment. I've been trying to cancel my membership since March and yet I can't get in contact with anyone to do that. I've called and left voicemails and even emailed with no response. I'm simply fed up. On top of that half the machines didn't work and the cable was off half the time. Don't waste your time or money here.

Purchased membership online. Have not been able to get into the gym once. Door is locked. Apparently the water has been cut off, the staff has all quit, the phone doesn’t work, and the owner has been AWOL for months. I’ve paid for a membership and am literally unable to use it or cancel it. Going to charge back the original payment and block any future payments.

Can not recommend this location as long as the manager (Karen) is still there.
I called and spoke with her to cancel membership in May said she would.
DID NOT HAPPEN. My bank acct was charged 30.00. Called back left VM and email. NO RESPONSE. I have had issues before I cancelled of her not responding to my emails or VM said she was having trouble with emails what about VM pretty sad if cant get to the MANAGER.

Miss Pamela, Snap Fitness Calera, AL gym manager always says hello and makes me feel special! I have met so many nice people! A huge thank you and appreciation to Rick Anderson, Snap Fitness Calera, AL Personal Trainer for without his guidance, positive enthusiasm, and extensive knowledge and experience i couldn't have lost the so far 40 lbs since I joined the gym in February. I have been trying to cancel my membership for the past month and a half. I do not live in the area anymore and was not able to come to the location. After countless phone calls and leaving voicemail after voicemail (which prompts I will be called back within 24 hours) I finally called during the magic time to reach an employee to cancel. If you want to cancel your membership and you cannot visit the location be prepared to be charged 2 months worth of membership fees before you actually reach someone.

The new manager Pamela has turned this place around. We stopped going to this location while ago because it was filthy and dark. Now she has cleaned everything spotless and much brighter. She also enforces that everyone entering must be a member. Really like the new atmosphere. From 1 star to 5 star. Recommend

The facility it's self is nice enough not exactly clean but its a gym.... the staff is awful, other members of the gym showed me equipment, how to use the key pass, and tanning bed.
the hours they have posted of the website mean nothing I had to call 3 times between 9 - 11 before I could get someone to answer. The women there, pamela could not answer any of my questions without asking "the guys" I assume she meant management or perhaps an owner and when I requested to cancel my membership she insisted that I come to the location. When I made her aware that it wasn't possible for me to get there or even leave my home she was persistent in finding out why as if it was any of her business and still refused to cancel my membership after calling 5 times in a month I eventually had to cancel my credit card to keep them from charging me.

As an attending member for six years or better, SNAP has a welcome atmosphere and a friendly staff. The management there has been the same management since I started, and he's a stand up guy.

Clean facilities, good equipment, and an excellent video program to go on.

Sometimes a bit crowded, and no showers, but all in all an excellent place to work out!

2019 UPDATE: There's a new manager in place, and she's even better than before! The facility is cleaner, and just as happy as always!
