This gym is amazing. Eagle River has needed a gym of this caliber for a long time and Mac’s does a great job. It’s probably the nicest civilian gym in the state. I used to work out at Buckner gym on JBER for years until I aged out of having base access. Mac’s is basically a mini Buckner gym which is amazing and truly says a lot. And I don’t say mini as a bad thing because Mac’s utilizes their space incredibly well. There really isn’t a single piece of equipment that they don’t have. No expense was spared here, it’s incredibly clean and well kept. The fact that it’s a true 24hr gym is amazing for those who don’t work typical schedules or just want more flexibility. I also really appreciate the fact that the owners do a good job enforcing good gym etiquette but they aren’t overbearing. This is a fantastic place to lift for any serious lifter or beginners too. I had been out of weight lifting for about 2 years and I wish I had gone to Mac’s sooner. All of the equipment is top notch hammer strength, life fitness, etc.. Absolutely love this gym!

I'm not the gym type. I prefer to do most of my strength training and cardio outdoors, mostly because of the stigmas that plague the vast majority of gyms. I can, with impartiality, attest to the fact that Mac's is a personable, first-rate, clean gym that upholds values of discipline, support, and fairness. They take care of their customers and ensure the best service is provided. It's a fun gym with a diverse crowd that's more like a family. Their rates are one of the most reasonable in Eagle River, Anchorage, Palmer, and Wasilla. I recommend trying Mac's out for yourself.

This gym is the bees knee's! The variety of the equipment is excellent, it's always clean, and the staff are so kind and accommodating. The ability to come and go whenever you want is also a nice touch! The owner is very active in the fitness community, hosting powerlifting meets and sponsoring body building shows, so it shows their dedication to the community and the sports. Highly recommend for whatever your fitness goals might be!

This gym has high quality equipment and a great variety of equipment too! The owners stay on top of gym etiquette to ensure each client has the best gym experience possible! I have visited most gyms in the Anchorage/Eagle River area and Mac’s is by far the best out there!

I have only worked out here once. Although I was new and only went once, my experience at this establishment was outstanding. The staff is super helpful and applying for a membership was fast and easy. I would highly recommend this place to not only everyday lifters but for newcomers as well.

Mac’s Strength and Fitness…where do I begin. Before you I was a lost soul, adrift in the cosmos, nervous, weak, small….alone. By happenstance or perhaps fate I ended up at your glorious gates. “They would never let a beta like me in” I said to myself. Suddenly like angels, the two guardians (owners) of the gym gravitated towards me…, “the gain god brought you here for a reason” they told me. I knew then that this would be my temple. Using the equipment crafted in Nidavellir, I was able to sharpen my mind like a blade, harden my body like iron, and free my soul like a lion returning to his grassy kingdom. Now I stand proud, a warrior of Mac’s strength ready to come to its aid any hour any day. When the banners are raised I will protect my home…all in all…

This gym is great! The facility is always clean, the members are very kind and friendly, and they have a great equipment. With a sauna, two showers, and three bathrooms they also have plenty of personal hygiene amenities. The owners are very kind and flexible!

This gym LITERALLY changed my life. I went from feeling like a nobody to a somebody. The welcoming I receive everyday when I come to the gym is the reason I explore the world of gains. I can’t believe I ever paid for a membership at Alaska Club. This is by far the best gym in Anchorage/Eagle River. Not only is all the equipment state of the art but it’s the other members that make this gym special. I highly recommend.

I was an out of town guest who purchased a week pass for this gym. I called the gym and spoke with the owner who was very informative and inviting. When purchasing my week pass, it was extremely easy to utilize and scan into the facility. When attending the gym, the gym was very clean, organized, and spacious. I found myself wanting to go back to the gym everyday and found it to be a highlight of my whole vacation. The gym has plenty of equipment to use and all the gym members where very friendly. My experience was phenomenal and honestly wished this gym was in my hometown. This was the best gym I have ever attended.

Such a nice facility and easy to sign up! Facility is very clean and of course all equipment is brand new which makes everything better. Love the ability to have 24/7 access and the barcode system is nice to have. Communication with staff has been great and they have answered any and every question I've had. I'm so thankful this place is now in ER and recommend it to all my friends. Very reasonable price for location and amount of equipment! Definitely the best gym in ER!
