All I saw is that this school just cares about money . Every year you have to pay a “ membership” for around 200 bucks plus 129.99 a month . They have just around two packages to choose . Not considering that you also paid for uniforms , gear , etc ... Totally a rip off . I had a different concept about this school and I know we all work and get pay , but considering that there was so much investment already , they were the only memberships they offer plus yours 200 bucks each year.

Mr. Okamoto was kind and professional when we had my son there, but he mocked me when I pulled my son out.
For that reason I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Okamoto’s is a welcoming, friendly dojo to improve yourself. I started at age 38 with no idea about martial arts except from the movies. Even though I have been a long distance runner for years, training here challenged me in many ways and improved my fitness. I learned a lot about myself and many areas of my life have benefited from learning karate at Okamoto’s.

I signed up my son with Okamoto’s Karate when he was 6. My wife and I would go watch with the other parents. After seeing him do exercises and katas we talked it over and joined up ourselves. The boy was doing great, but we were huffing and puffing. I never realized how out of shape I was. After a few months that began to change. The three of us would go to class together as a family. We were all having a good time. Mr. Okamoto is very patient with the kids (and parents too). There was one side effect that I did not expect. Focus is a key element in Karate. Mr. Okamoto taught my son to ‘focus’. This has helped him immensely through school and life in general. Now my son is grown. He is a second degree black belt. When I look back I am pleased that Karate is something we did together.

I love training here! I have been training with Okamoto Sensei since I was 16 years old. I have had the opportunity to teach classes and grow in many different areas. As a teenager and as an adult I have learned valuable lessons about life and how to treat others. I searched for and tried several dojos before finding this one and never left. If you are looking for a dojo please give this one a try. I believe you won't regret it.

My kids have attended Okamoto's School of Karate for nine years. I appreciate how well Mr. Okamoto and his staff work with kids. They were very patient with my son who struggled athletically, but was finally able to get his black belt in 2015. Mr. Okamoto put a lot of extra effort into guiding my son through many ups and downs learning the art of karate. The staff has also been great with my daughter, encouraging and kind. I've noticed Mr. Okamoto pays attention to each students abilities and works with them where they're at without making students feel more or less based on they're skill, but rather they're effort. My kids have gained a lot of self-confidence from training at Okamoto's dojo.

My son loves training at Okamoto’s. It is always fun and interesting while challenging at the same time. The instructors are very positive and patient with students. The experience has made my son more disciplined and respectful at home and in school. I highly recommend Okamoto’s.

Okamoto's Karate is phenomenal! I started training in 2007 and have definitely gained many experiences from training here. Okamoto's Karate developed my discipline and sense of responsibility as well as respect towards others. I carry those virtues with me to this day and implement them in my educational and professional relations in the medical field. Okamoto's allowed me to open doors to my own potential and now I can say that I have been successful in martial arts tournaments as well: 2013 Jr. Olympic Gold Medalist, 7 International Championship Titles and 4-0 in amateur mixed martial arts. Training here was a big piece of my childhood that I will never forget. This is the place to be if you want to go far! Oose.

I’ve grown up as a student at this dojo. It’s amazing how you can be treated like family while learning about respect for self and others. The staff at this dojo help students set and achieve goals. The amount of discipline that is gained from the practices here is helpful for anyone. Families and individuals are welcome and everyone is able to learn at their own pace. This is a great place for kids too! Love it here!

I signed my daughter up with Okamotos School of Karate when she was 8-years-old. She loved it so much that I signed up my 5-year-old son. They were both having so much fun, I signed myself up too! It was one of the best decisions I ever made as a father. We eventually all earned our black belts. The workouts were challenging, the comradeship wonderful, and the values taught priceless. Yoshiro Okamoto Sensi is an amazing mentor to children and adults alike. Okamoto’s School of Karaté is one of the most positive and valuable experiences a child, or adult, can have.

Great, welcoming place for kids to learn karate in a friendly environment. All the instructors are wonderful and really connect with each student. They offer a trial session which we took advantage of for our 6 and 4 year old, and they made us all feel very comfortable. They also make sure students are prepared for belt testing and tournaments. Highly recommended Okamoto's!
