I came in person to cancel my membership and I had my 3 year old with me because I just picked her up from school.

They wouldn't let her use the bathroom.

It's not like she was going to get on the workout equipment. Just let the kid go pee.

Anyone who has toddlers understands that denying a toddler immediate access to a toilet is a guaranteed pee/poop mess. Toddlers can't hold their bladder.

Obviously, none of these staff have children or have a heart. I just finished paying this establishment $90 and not even a minute later the staff made my child pee her pants in the lobby because she's "too young".

I know this place isn't supposed to be for children, and this was obviously a unique situation. But have some human decency, at least.

I workout at the Planet Fitness in Anchorage. I am moving closer to this gym( In Eagle River ) and thought I would go in and tour this gym, being closer and all. I was very pleased to see a very spacious establishment. I was greeted by staff shortly after walking in the door. The associate was very knowledgeable about the equipment. It wasn't too crowded. The floors, machines and restroom were clean and tidy. And I didn't smell any odors like you can in some gyms. I will definitely be working out there.

I love the Planet Fitness at Eagle River AK. It is clean and big with lots of windows. The staff is amazing. I love Cameron and Ben. I’ve tried Planet Fitness in another state and like ours the best. In 9 months I brought my a1c down from 6.7 to 6.2. Thanks to my workouts. I avoid SAD, seasonal affective disorder by using the tanning facilities. It’s got to the point I go 5 days a week.

Top Notch! Were members of the Alaska Club for 5 years moving up here The facilities were fantastic at that place but the cleanliness and attentiveness of staff of Planet Fitness is unmatched! And the no judgment zone that Planet Fitness upholds throughout the entire facility is comfortable especially to someone that's not as fit as they would like to be. It's hard enough sometimes to walk in the door of your gym when you don't have self-body positivity, Planet Fitness excels in so many ways with this!
I miss not having a pool available but for the price per month we can easily stay in a hotel for the weekend every two months and enjoy that pool!

I’ve enjoyed my few times there immensely. I generally don’t make the most of my gym memberships and therefore feel guilty for joining and then wasting money. Here that is not the case. The fees are low (at all levels) and I can bring a guest each time I go. The network is international, so there are even potential benefits when I travel. 24 hours a day five days a week and extended hours the other two makes working out easy for even those with the busiest schedules. In addition, the location is staffed whenever open, which is great as well. You won’t find a pool or racquetball court here, but it is a great place for those who want access to a vast variety of machines and free weights. If you have a specific training routine or want to circuit train, you will find everything you need here and more. They also generally try to offer exercise classes many days a week as well, my understanding is that their trainer is typically available to help those new to the gym too. They are hiring a trainer right now, so if you have experience you might want to drop off a resume. For students, those on a budget or those who don’t need a lot of extras, I’d recommend taking a look at their website and visiting their gym.

Favorite Planet Fitness location. Alisha as well as the other evening management that I have met have all been very accommodating, helpful, and welcoming. They do a great job of explaining answers to questions people have about the amenities and services PF offers. Staff are great (kind/helpful but not annoying), place is clean, overall affordable and I'm happy there are stair climbers but for the love of fitness bring back squat racks and get some spin bikes please. This is easily the best of the planet fitness in Alaska. Not to crowded and good range of available stuff to use. Only thing holding back the 5 star is that its pretty consistently dirty.

Edit: This location has taken a turn in the last 6 months ish. The worst is the training team. They force other paying members out of areas of the gym they have decided give their clients the best workouts even though there is no verbiage or policy stating this is a thing anywhere! I have read the entire agreement. In fact is states that black card members should be given reciprocal use for all equipment. Several times I have been working out and been told I have to leave the area because 1 client wants training. So, the only way to accomplish this is to vacate everyone in an area that is arguably the highest used in the gym, even though it is NOT part of the 30 min training area. I've seen the training even move people off of equipment that is no where near the "training area" so his clients can tandem use the machines. I talked to the manager and he stated to watch the training board for times. That didn't matter. I got there at 2, training didn't start till 330 but someone signed up last second and I got told to leave. When I asked the trainer how I'm suppose to be able to time my workout he said "I make 15 dollars and hour, not my problem, your affecting other members". Not sure how planet fitness feels about employees opening complaining about the wage to members but whatever. Pretty petulant response. All I want is a firm schedule. No deviation so I can time my workouts. I'm will to make it work but he isn't.

Love this gym. Not too crowded. Downside is they really don't have a stretch area despite the sign. There isn't enough room for alot of people, then if there is a class they block off the whole area so there isn't anywhere to stretch! If you want to stretch you have to interrupt the class to get a mat and find somewhere in the gym to akwardly stretch. I just to go home and do my stretches now.

I love how clean everything is. Other members AND staff are always out and cleaning objects touched and used regularly. Everything is functional. Hardly any of the machines are out of order or down, and most every machine available has a duplicate in case of failure. Wait times are minimal. Very rarely do I have to wait to use a specific machine. When I do, the wait is minimal. The environment is very positive. There is no pressure on me or others to hurry, no strange competition in movement or weights, no creepers. I enjoy the music played at the volume played, and the minimal distractions. The parking lot can get a bit chaotic sometimes at peak hours, one of the few cons of this location. The rate of what I pay for membership is very fair and I love that there are no cancelation fees. I am excited to travel with my membership to other states and enjoy the benefits beyond home while out of town or state. I would be fairly likely to refer friends to this gym. I would just advise them what times to avoid going to avoid waits on machines and parking conundrums.

I did a couple month membership. If you know what you are doing lifting wise this is not the place for you. The free weights section is a joke. These “inclement” weather closures are at least an inconvenience. DO NOT JOIN THIS PLACE. They hire children and treat you as such. If you are on the Do Not Call list, they will still liter you with spam emails, texts, and phone calls. I never provided my number, but they still found me and continue to spam me. If you want to go back to high school gym class- this is your place. The children behind the front desk will harass you every time you come to upgrade your membership. If you ask for a manager, they will lie to you and say they are one. Very unprofessional! To Whom this may concern,
I am wondering why PF is not closing at 10pm as PF online hours state. After driving 15 miles to use a treadmill at the Eagle River, Alaska, Planet fitness, arriving just after 4pm I was told that Planet Fitness closes early at 5pm today. When I asked, - "I thought Planet Fitness was 24hrs", I was told the Planet fitness IS open 24hrs a day, just not on this day because of a Staff Meeting. Still trying to understand how a staff meeting closes a business designed to be operate 24 hours a day.
Not sure what is correct or true regarding Planet Fitness as Planet Fitness states in advertisements that they are a 24hr gym.
These buisness practices are unpredictable, unprofessional and definitely let me know not to renew my membership with Planet Fitness!
I just wasted time and gas, because nowhere does it state that on Saturday September 17 2022 that Planet Fitness closes at 5pm for a staff meeting.

This is my gym , everything from the staff to the equipment is great, its always clean and its never too busy ! Buttt.... my favorite thing about planet fitness has to be that the machines show a picture of exactly what you're working out. Its amazing ! The gym is what you get for the $10 ... if you want a tan , a massage, or good deals and free online workouts you have to upgrade to the PF Black Card . Its $23 a month and both have an annual fee of $39 ... it is totally worth it to upgrade ! Hope my review helps ... Thanks planet fitness 💪
