I do love this gym, only a handful of times has it been uncomfortably crowded... the majority of the time it is easy to get to the equipment I need. I'd like to give a shout out to their employee Triya who is such a hard worker and she has such a sunny personality. I swear, I came in the gym and she greeted everyone...while she was also cleaning the door and then not even 45 minutes later, she was cleaning up the shower area. Seriously, give this woman a raise. It is so nice to have employees who really take pride in the gym that they work for. It makes a real difference.

The staff kicked one of my kids out for sitting in their lobby without a membership?! Are you serious? I have valid reason to believe it was not just “enforcing” rules but backed with malice towards people of color. Get your staff straightened out, it’s disgusting to see people treating kids like this. I have also been to many Planet Fitness’s and this is by far the absolute worst. The bathroom was filthy, and the price of their membership is not worth the number and variety of machines/ weights and hours of operation.

So it’s says open 24/5 on the door but they close at 9pm during the week and 7pm on weekends so I asked him why it’s says open 24hrs 5 days a week and dude said I was confused 😂😂 dude if you’re not open 24hrs any day then don’t advertise as open 24hrs 5 days a week. They keep reducing their hours, but they're increasing their prices. I pay so I can go late at night, now there's almost no advantage to the other gyms I have access to.

This also means more people in the gym during the limited operating hours, meaning more time waiting on workout stations.

I always did enjoy coming to this location sometimes it was quite crowded in the evenings and decided to try it one time and in the morning came in took a shower and wanted to start tanning I suffered from psoriasis and the tanning actually helps keep it at Bay I requested a particular bed which I knew had new bulbs and the radio worked with other features and the attended refused told me I had to take a lesser bed which one that I know the radio does not work half the bulbs are not as hot and when I tried to switch from a bed to a stand-up booth just to be able to get the vitamin d that my skin needs he refused told me that I could not because I had already booked one 24 hours in 24 hours and he could not change it it's only bad thing I've ever had to say about this place was definitely the gentleman named Jacob what a little kindness would have went a long ways

I was a member of Planet Fitness in different states, but the Fairbanks location is the worst. It’s more expensive, and it’s not worth the price at all. The workers seem unhelpful—whenever I ask something, they make things more difficult and enforce senseless rules for no good reason.

Gym has just what my husband and I need for our daily workouts. Atmosphere is chill where everyone keeps to themselves. I used planet fitness in the valley for a long time. The Fairbanks club is absolutely dismal by comparison. Every single bathroom stall had visible grime everywhere the floors were dirty. All the equipment and surrounding areas were visibly filthy. I used to clean gyms and it's very obvious that there hasn't been a legitimate deep cleaning in months. With the volume of people that were in there I had to turn around and walk out immediately because it's a health risk.

Granted I belong to Planet fitness in the lower 48 so visited here since I was in town. The gym had plenty of room for most items but the stretching area definitely was on the tight side. However everything was clean and the equipment was in good working order. The locker rooms were a little bit smaller too but once again everything was clean and the showers had really great water pressure. Overall I went there a few times while in town and definitely was happy with my experience.

Very disappointment with PF. I understand the rule about how you can only use your none home gyms up to 10 time with the black membership but I don’t understand turning away a paying customer without a warning. Not a problem for me to switch my home gym but a big problem when the staff is saying pay 5 dollars right now or you can’t even use the bathroom. Like what happened to enjoy your workout and don’t forget to switch over your home gym to avoid issues the next time.

Convenient place to exercise. Customer service needs improvement; the manager especially needs a customer svc workshop.
A few months ago my workout partner & I noticed the music had gotten much louder. I asked about it and was told they were working on it. The next few visits it was still loud enough that I had a hard time hearing sound from my headphones. I spoke with the manager who told m that volume hadn’t changed and I could wear headphones. I had already told him I had to turn my headphones up uncomfortably loud to hear over their music. He went on to argue with me until I gave up & left. Returned today, music still too loud & I’m thinking of ending my membership. I’ll give management one more chance to make it right.

Decent amenities and a clean gym. It's pretty convenient for the price as they're open Monday though Friday around the clock, then close early at 7 Saturday and Sunday. You really can't beat the price of the black card considering a tanning membership at any local salon would likely run you $60+ for a daily package matching the same level of the beds at PF. 3×! The price of a membership at PF without the extras. You also get a discount on all the drinks and merch after becoming a black member, making all the Gatorade cost less than it does at a gas station or anywhere else.

What I'm saying is that soon that the membership pays for itself and is ultimately great for folks who's free time isn't until later in the evening.

My first Planet Fitness experience--I liked it a lot! My sole complaint is the lack of barbells. Smith Machines are fine, but nothing beats squatting or deadlifting with an actual bar. Otherwise the facility was immaculate and the staff was great! I'm looking forward to going back:-)

The only issue I had was I went to go tanning and it only was on for 2 minutes when I went to go to ft desk she had no idea how to fix the issues and I was only allowed to go tanning once so I waisted 7 dollars on tanning. AWFUL. Do not bother with Fairbanks Planet Fitness. Terrible customer service. Day one after signing up: I get picture taken. Go workout on cardio machines, everything is fine. Sweating and tired, I go to get a drink of water. Fountains are off. I asked the gentleman working and he said “the fountains are off because of COVID”. Ok. Understandable. I told
him I had no cash on hand nor did I bring a water bottle to fill since this was my first day and I saw no signs mentioning this. I asked if I could at least get a courtesy bottle. Nope. I walked away semi surprised and then shook my head. He then whispered “shake your head all you want man, deal with it”. Unacceptable behavior. I didn’t catch his name but it was the evening worker with a beard. Signed up, went in, and after first visit immediately canceled my membership. I recommend you save time and go elsewhere.

Apparently planet fitness doesn't care about handicapped peoples privacy in the shower. 3 times I have complained that the shower curtains in the handicapped stall are almost 2 feet too narrow.
I have been told they are not available from corporate.
A good store manager would go buy a curtain locally, I guess this hasn't occurred to them.
So....if you want a shower in the handicapped stall be prepared to be in every person's view, cold from the draft.

These idiots have been charging my husband for TWO YEARS even though he cancelled his membership and moved across the country. Every time we call they put us through hoops that do absolutely nothing. Always saying they will have a manager call us back which has not happened. We had asked to transfer the membership to the state we currently live in & they said that isn’t possible so we asked to just cancel it instead. They claim that we would literally have to fly to Alaska and cancel the membership in person even though that was ALREADY done and they messed it up. Now they’re calling & emailing saying that the payments aren’t going through because we reported the fraud charges to our bank and blocked the payments from going through. The only downside is a couple of the employees seem to have a lil bit of a chip on the shoulder,...maybe alil too judgemental? The gym is clean, very convenient, and works just fine for me and my fiancé. I realize everyone has a different workout routine and we have ours...15 min. on the treadmill and then we hit the Express Workout room hard. We see the benefits of following the Express routine, but are rarely able to utilize it in the manner in which it was designed. It is very frustrating to have to adjust the order of equipment because of members using the "heavily monitored" area as if it were the main floor and then side-eyeing us like we're rushing them (BTW...WE ARE :). It's a great concept just frustrating for those of us that joined specifically for that area. This has been mentioned on my way out of the gym on at least three occasions. Not the greatest tragedy in this world for sure, just disappointing is all.

I lived in alaska two years ago. I canceleld my gym membershio. Fiund out from my bank now, that under a different name planet fitness has been charging my bank account different amounts for all the past two years. I have called and tried to cancel multiple times but everytime they say oh we dont have a record for you. Well i have been keeping a phone record and email record. Also they want me to cancel at that specific planet fitness , i live 3,000 miles away. Dont go to planet fitness. When i calle my bank they said i was not the only one, and that there were several lawsuits against planet fitness now. Dont trust them i signed up for the black card. 10 dollars a month. When i cancelled two years ago till now they have charged my account over 2,000 dollars. Shouldnt it be 240 dollars. Anyways dont join. Please dont or youll never get out

Terrible management and bad business plans. Told the employee a week in advance we’d just need a gym pass for a week and she checked, double and then TRIPLE checked that it would be $10/day with no extra fees. Come to find it’s a $50 application fee that was hidden. On top of that the employee working the desk had a “rules trump customers” mentality. We’re a pretty unique situation but normal or not , this is a business. And this business failed to put the customer first. Found 4 other gyms around that could HAPPILY accommodate our situation and had the sense of business to hear us out. Does policy and rule win? I’d say the customer should.

I joined the gym in 2015 and recently moved to Anchorage. It was clean throughout that time, and folks were, for the most part, kind and helpful.

In spite of COVID-19, there is a policy in place requiring folks to visit in-person, provide a doctor's note stating that you are immunocompromised, or physically send a piece of mail to their address to cancel your membership. I didn't appreciate being told any of the above when I tried to call and cancel my membership like folks generally do in the 21st century. I suggest offering a cancellation option online or over the phone in the very near future.

Straight forward, the gym equipment is typical planet fitness 5 star but leaving a 2 star rating because the front desk is a gym vibe killer and feels like the damn “planet fitness principals.“ I’ve traveled to over 15 different locations all over the country & the Fairbanks one is a freaking strict joke. If you’re an actual lifter, go and feel their eyes watching you. Might even feel them breathe down your neck of you’re lucky.
