SLAM is such a great experience, both physically and mentally! It’s encouraging to workout with Women in all seasons of life and strength. The workouts are scalable to get the most out of every session and push all individuals! The coaches are kind, knowledgeable, and understanding! While kids are encouraged to stay by their grown up, there’s plenty of opportunity for them to get a workout in, too, or hang with their friends in a safe space! Highly recommend SLAM to anyone looking for a great workout and an even better community!

Malia made it clear how to complete each exercise move, which was helpful to me as a beginner. She also performed all the exercises with us, which I respected - she was willing to do every exercise she asked us to do.

I’ve seen this group for years and couldn’t be happier now that I took the chance and joined. Fun workouts that are as challenging or as adaptive as you want to make them. The ladies there are so very welcoming and as a new Mom I feel like I was able to find my tribe. So if you’re looking for Moms who get it, while wanting to work out, this is your place.

As a mom of 3, it's so nice to just show up to a workout and not have to put in any mental energy to thinking through what I need to do. The instructors are great and are really good about providing different modifications for the exercises (and there is no shame from anyone when you do modify!) There is always a focus on doing movements that increase your strength and stability from your current ability level. Very kid/baby friendly too! The community and support is amazing.

Been going to SLAM for a while, even if not super consistent. Everyone is supportive, kind and it's never awkward either. I ALWAYS recommend it to others who want to work out and are worried about childcare.

I started going in January 2024 and love that the night classes are an option especially as a teacher. All three coaches (Malia, Katy, and Lillian) are knowledgeable and help adapt exercises to how you’re feeling that day to still push you but in a safe way.

S.L.A.M. Fairbanks has provided the perfect workout opportunity and community I was looking when we first moved to the area. I love the amazing women I’ve met and the immediate group of friends I have now! There are a variety of instructors and I love each of them. It’s hard to get to the gym with littles AND finding someone to watch your littles so you can go to the gym. I love that I can get a workout in and bring my kids. Not only do they enjoy it, they get to see mama getting strong 💪🏼 It truly is a class for all fitness levels. It’s inviting + judgement free. Mamas GET it 🤍

The instructors are super welcoming and inclusive of ladies from all walks of life. This group will help push you to work hard but to also understand your body, especially if postpartum or pregnant. S.L.A.M. has personally helped me in the winter with my energy levels, getting out of the house, and getting a great workout! I love how the workouts can easily be tailored to meet your needs for the day.
