Alysa has worked with all of our kids, and is not only an amazing coach, but incredible role model, as well. Our middle school aged kids spent a lot of time playing basketball, and Alysa has helped with the shooting details, thereby improving shot accuracy. Our daughter specifically has participated in the "Shooting coaching" 1:1 sessions for almost a year now. Alysa is patient and makes the work fun, while also honing in on small details that make a huge difference! Thanks, Alysa!

Picklefit is an incredible strength and conditioning class tailored specifically for pickleball enthusiasts! It’s so much fun and focuses on agility, stretching, and core work, which really helps target the muscles we use the most during games. The classes are always different so it’s always exciting what you’re going to do next session! The atmosphere is fantastic, with participants ranging from their 20s to 60s, making it adaptable for all fitness levels. I love that I can enjoy this class with my Dad, Vito, and all my pickleball friends. I highly recommend Picklefit to anyone looking to enhance their game while having a great time! I can already feel my game and fitness level improving! They also have the best coaches where you automatically feel like family!❤️

I have been coming for a couple weeks to the strength and conditioning classes. The programming and coaches are top notch, and the community is welcoming. I’m very pleased with the quality of training. I’ve gone to many CrossFit and strength gyms over the years and not many have the level of expertise sweat lab offers. I’m really glad I found it

I highly recommend The Sweat Lab! As a practicing Chiropractor in Anchorage I know how essential exercise is to health. Coach Horn and her team are exceptional at creating an effective, appropriate, and fun routine to help you reach your health goals. I personally trained with Coach Horn for several years and I can tell you from my experience that her professionalism and knowledge base is equal to her kindness and dedication to helping others. Please check them out of you want to get in shape, stay in shape, or just make exercise fun again!

My daughters, who both play volleyball, have been training at The Sweat Lab for 3 years. They look forward to classes every week. It's fun to see their progress, and I really appreciate the relationships they have developed with the training staff. Having female athletes that my girls look up to, pushing them for improvement, is really a highlight for me!

I have two who participate in the elementary basketball sessions, and they love it. They are always looking forward to the next session. Coach Alysa does a tremendous job of infusing fun and structure into her sessions while holding the players accountable and allowing them to grow at their own pace. Through my work at middle school, I have met players who have also attended the AKademy and have noticed the jump in their skills from their workouts over the summer. I recommend any of the programs from The Sweat Lab & Coach Alysa!

Not all coaches or gyms are created equal.
Gyms look similar from the outside, but it is the coaches that create its ethos. The typical coach is usually an athlete with a trainer certification, but this doesn’t necessarily make them good teachers.
At the Sweat Lab, the coaching and programming are exceptional. Each workout builds functional fitness through flexibility, strength training and conditioning. Alysa and her team at the Sweat Lab are knowledgeable and skilled mentors who are committed to wellness and prioritize correct technique and form. All gyms offer a chance to sweat, but the Sweat Lab offers a chance to be transformed.

My 11 year old son attended a 2 week winter break camp w/ Alyssa. Every session was fun. He came away from the experience with better a better mindset and self awareness, a basic understanding of nutrition, and some exercises that he's been doing on his own in our gym. Well done Alyssa. Thank you for offering this opportunity for our kids!

Wonderful coaching, lots of one-on-one help when needed. I like that the focus is also on proper execution of the movements to keep us strong and injury free. It's a positive environment too
Esther is proficient in explaining movements and making sure each team member can do them safely. She is able to come up with alternatives if a movement is too difficult or needs to be scaled to the meet the individuals needs

Alyssa has the technical skills and ability to teach her trade, but more importantly, she prioritizes emphasis on the the whole athlete. Often times, the hardest part of a sport can be the people you are working with, from teammates to coaches to parents and teachers. She focuses on individual mental strength and building strong relationships, and that is why we choose this camp over all others.

Our son could not get ENOUGH of your basketball camp! He wanted to go EVERY day for the rest of his life! He had the BEST time! You are amazing coaches who instill drive, dedication, and love of the game into each player. We are so thankful you came to our little island to share the STOKE of this sport. Thank you & we can't wait until next year!

Every day at this camp was amazing. They had great coaches from all over Alaska and all of them were very helpful and understanding. The breakout sessions were also great as they had information that ranged from a variety of topics. When going into this camp you don’t have to have friends you know going there but it definitely makes the camp experience better if you do have at least one friend going.

Training with Alysa at Make Yourself is always time well spent. I know I am in safe hands due to her extensive educational background and personal athleticism. Alysa has been a supportive coach to me after breaking my arm, helping me to rehabilitate at my own pace. She has a knack for writing programming to suit my specific needs, allowing me to return to full strength and range of motion. Her charismatic personality is infectious, and she has the BEST sense of humor – which helps me to push through the more challenging training sessions. I always leave my workouts feeling infinitely better than not working out. I am so grateful to call Alysa my coach, and look forward to training with her for years to come.

Alysa is a terrific coach. Tired of modifying my workouts because of a slowly recovering knee injury and the constant pain, I reached out to Alysa to help me with strengthening workouts. She helped get back to a painless squat in 2.5 months! I remember after my first assessment she asked me to accept the upcoming changes to my workouts and just commit to the programming. That is exactly what I did and could not be happier with the results!
Alysa is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled; she helped me progress towards my goals when it seemed like a long impossible road. She is kind, funny, always encouraging and great at checking in and keeping me accountable! Her customized program meets you where you’re at and it has something for everyone. My most favorite part is that this a wholesome program that focuses on recovery, mobility, strengthening and stamina-all of it,consistently! I’d absolutely recommend this program!

Alysa has been doing my individualized Fitness programming for a long time now. My lifts have improved, my cardiovascular endurance is the best its ever been, and on a daily basis I feel like I have someone in my corner that wants the best for me. This is not one size fits all. Alysa listens to your needs and goals and does everything in her power to make them a reality. I highly reccomend.

Alysa has been a tremendous supplemental coach for both my kids. It’s extremely important that both my son and daughter have positive role models to look up to, and Alysa teaches them the importance of working hard and putting the time in to get better. They respect her and look forward to her sessions and their athleticism is improving the more they work with her.

My son has been a client of Make Yourself for a year now. His trainer Alysa connected very early on. She's given him exercises and drills during one on one sessions that have his shirt dripping with sweat. He has also attended group sessions and clinics that Alysa has hosted and has come away with a better appreciation of what his future will look like as a professional athlete. He has changed his mindset; both physically and mentally. Alysa is kind, hard working, and a consummate professional! I only wish there were more of her! Her e-mail updates are critical in these times of COVID-19 and am always appreciative of her updates. I'm only hesitant of a 5 STAR because my preference for my son would to have to ability of more one on one sessions but know we have to share Alysa.

Coach Alysa is such a positive role model for so many!! She has worked with many of my teams and encourages each player to better their game by taking the time to explain each drill and constantly is pushing to make things harder each session. She holds each player accountable and shares with them their progress they make, all while making it fun as she pushes them physically and mentally. Her love and sacrifice for training is clear and I would recommend any person wanting to improve their whole game to contact Coach Alysa.

If you would like to have your son or daughter improve in the sport of Basketball, regardless of current skill level or athleticism, Alysa Horn is the best value available. She helps all skill levels and she is loved by all the kids. I have referred many and they all love her sessions and continue to go. I as a Coach get to see their individual improvements every time I see them after their training with Alysa Horn.
