I’ve had membership with this gym over 2 years and have never had issues. Love the gym. I’m in the process of moving to a different state cross country. I called at the beginning of the month to cancel my membership which they informed me needed to be done in person. I asked the employee over the phone if I had to do it by a certain date. He said no. I came in today on the 22nd to sign the paper and it specifically states that it needed to be done before the 15th or I would get charged for another month. I’m very irritated because I feel like I did my part and even looked on the website. Nothing on there states about canceling before the 15th. I would suggest to the owner to better train their employees and maybe put it on the website for clarification.

I’ve been in various gyms throughout my military a career and throughout California but this gym is amazing! I’ll be gone 2025 because of relocation but I am leaving a review for new potential members!

It’s worth it! It’s NEVER packed because the gym is so big with so much equipment that you can get your work out in in Peace!

Now closing THE ONLY REASON I was compelled by the Lord to leave a review is the cleanliness of this place ! I’ve seen janitors in many gyms but not like the LADY older white lady! When I see her she’s deep cleaning machines I mean DEEP CLEANING. This lady earns her paycheck! I’ve never seen anyone work at a gym as a janitor and PERSISTENTLY work the same way! I see her work hard sometimes waiting for her ride think! If the owner sees this or not but I hope he does LORD WILLING she gets the acknowledgment she deserves! I’ll see you guys in a year!

Edit: The owner called me and made it right. Like his response says he calmly explained that the employee I spoke to had the wrong information. The owner was kind and apologetic about the whole situation and took steps to solve it for me.

Original: The gym itself is good, but make sure you cancel your membership in person if you have to move away, when I signed up they did not make this clear, and now I have a 40$ charge every month that I cannot cancel unless I fly or drive there (a 20 hour drive) to cancel my membership in person, when I talked to them on the phone about canceling my membership was the first time I heard about this rule, and when I tried to see if there were any other solutions, he interrupted with “have a good one!” And immediately hung up. This rule really just makes it feel like they’re out to scam you out of your money, especially since they would not take the time to figure out any other solutions.

Hands down the best freakin gym I've ever had the privilege to work out in. I'm visiting my daughter and her family....and definitely didn't believe her when she told me how awesome it is. Crowed at times but when its not its great, plenty of room, large gym. The music though...seems like same 15 songs on repeat we are forced to listen to, and very loud. air pods cannot compete with overhead volume which makes it annoying. looking around everyone is wearing earbuds or headphones while working out. please turn off the overheads and allow us to listen & enjoy whatever we decide to put in our ears. thank you.

The staff if very friendly and the gym rats aren’t rude at all they’re actually helpful if you ask for anything. The equipment is well maintained and the environment is generally very clean. Only gripe about this place is that it’s usually packed but besides that even with it being packed you can always find something to do.

Months ago, I deleted a review based on some of the things that I saw after stepping foot inside the gym. After a few minutes of being inside, I left and never went back. The owner contacted me right away, explained his method behind the issues I saw, so I deleted the post. But the one thing that has been itching at my conscience is what the owner told me as to the main issue I had. What was that issue? The fact that this gym uses microfiber towels to clean the equipment. This an absolutely disputing practice that I saw in small town/gyms such as Calexico and even here Border Gym. The owners answer? To save money? No expensive disinfectant our there is strong enough to kill the millions of germs that will cultivate on a microfiber towel. What about all the people who do not wash their hands when they go to restroom? Wipe their nose with their hands or touch another body or infested surface? By the way, I would have expected these towels to be changed at least once an hour which he informed me they were not. Let us not forget about the respiratory trifecta COVID, FLU, and COLD. All these are still a thing and two of them still kill people every year. When someone says they care more about saving money than the public health of the customer, is just wrong. How this is not an issue with the Yuma County Public Health services is beyond me. In my opinion, this a great gym and I see why it is so popular. But as a former military veteran who has been a member of gyms all over, and safety professional who has personally lost family members to COVID, I cannot condone this action.

To the owner: I know you still have my information. All I ask is that you protect the people that go to your gym by providing them the sanitary means of cleaning the equipment like hundreds of other gyms around the country. You have a great gym. You have permission to call me if this policy ever change and I will in good faith, delete my post permanently. To the owners reply: Thank you for your reply. I understand that changing the towels every hour might seem like a valid idea but as busy as your gym is, they are still bacteria sponges. When you spray a surface (porous/non-porous) you are sanitizing, not desinfecting. There is a reason why most gyms dont use this method. The chemical you use does not kill the virus or bacteria on the towel. Nor does it clean all the sweat and other germs being absorbed.

This gym does get really busy some days and we end up needing to park in the back, but honestly I'm just lazy sometimes. I would give a 5 but the only issue I am running into is the cleanliness of the girls shower stalls. In the 2nd shower stall there was a huge wad of hair on the wall that I noticed and when I came back after a day or so it was still there. Same goes for a piece of gum. The lady (I'm sorry I don't know her name) that normally cleans the gym does a great job. But when she isn't working it seems like nothing is getting cleaned or looked at. There is also always a bunch of people taking mirror selfies in the changing rooms and that just makes me uncomfortable because I will be half dressed and worried I'm in the background of someones selfies. No hate to the self love ladies out there, I just have a lot of poor angles I really don't want captured.

The actual gym does have a multitude of machines and weights though. And the staff is always really kind to us. I love the towel service they have, I think it is an extra $5 a month for 1 sweat and 1 regular towel a day. Super convenient.

This is the brand new version of the old school 4th Ave. Jim. They have more weights and machines than I can count. You are better off spending your money here than planet fitness or any other fitness place. It's only 40 bucks a month and you get access to over 100 different types of equipment

I've been visiting gyms for 40 years and this is my favorite.its family owned. It's not pretty, plenty of iron for powerlifters. People are there to work. The giant mural of Arnold Schwarzenegger in the middle of gym. The music, the equipment ,the staff gave me a free week pass with a Yuma address because it is a tax incentive for them. Locker room is clean. It's a huge gym but easy to navigate. Noone is on top of anyone else. I wish I lived in Yuma only to be able to workout here.

This gym has everything. They have expanded the size by 5k Sq ft and even when it is busy you can find everything you need. 2 separate areas with dumbells from 5-150 lbs. Tons of machines and cardio equipment. A turf field area, basketball court, saunas, massage beds, tanning beds..

These folks are smart, They offer all sorts of memberships!
In our case we're in Yuma for only 2 weeks on assignment and needed a gym. #4thavegym sells 2 week family passes at a bargain price in light of the quality experience this gym offers.

4th Avenue gym we will honestly state is the top gym experience we've had, and this includes Mountainside Fitness (they dont have the variable memberships).

This facility is beyond top notch, with amenities like you've always dreamed of. Only thing not here is a pool and jacuzzi; oh well, no time for that anyway.

4 full areas of equipment and endless opportunities for everyone's idea of fitness.

Great friendly staff, and sanitizing staff on duty every time I visited. Props to the lady who tirelessly cleans equipment, thank you so much.

It's a nice gym I find it to be too expensive people that work out here are very serious I'd rather go to Planet Fitness 10 bucks that's more my style Planet Fitness charges $10 and this place charges 45 it's the same workout they both have nice equipment I don't understand why they're more expensive I guess it's a more serious environment but I'm not sure just had a hip replacement when I'm well enough I'll go to Planet Fitness I'd rather pay $10 a month of course that's up to you

The gym is always clean and the staff is always friendly. Tons of space and good mix of stations for almost any workout. I recommend Neal for anyone with serious physical fitness aspirations, but honestly all the trainers are great. Would be great if they had a pool and rock wall as well, but the aforementioned amenities more than make up for it.

I've been coming to this gym for the past few months. It's a fantastic gym with plenty of space and a huge variety of equipment. What attracted me most was the number of squat racks and deadlift platforms, which can be hard to come by at other gyms in this area. Despite being extremely busy throughout the day, I have found that even during peak hours I can always find something to do if I'm willing to improvise, modify my exercises, or wait for a few minutes. It helps that a new section of the gym just opened up. It is pricier than other options in the foothills, which made me hesitant to sign up, but so far has been well worth the price. In addition to all of the awesome features of this gym, all of the front desk staff are very welcoming and greet me with a smile whenever I come and go.

My first experience with 4th ave gym and have not been disappointed! I train here about 5-6 times a week and find the consistent positive trainers, awesome music and participants who take class create a perfect workout environment. I love that they provide a spacious parking lot, towels for workouts, water and most importantly the same group of quality trainers are there to personally get to know you and push you in the right way. It’s a hard workout with happy people! And I am seeing results for sure.

Top of the line equipment, good spacing between equipment. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, overall fantastic gym. The only thing that would make this a total experience would be an indoor pool at least 30 yards with some lap lanes. LVAC (Las Vegas Athletic Clubs) all have them, but their facilities are warehouse sized, literally. Other than that, this is the best facility in the area.
