This place has gotten so busy over the years it makes me not want to even go cause you can Barley walk in some area it's so busy. The prices are outrageous now, it's almost the same price as club! Most of the staff are rude. Oh and forget trying to get your kid on a team, especially volleyball! Everything is waitlisted in less then 15minutes.

No A/C ? I've been bringing my kids here since 2016 and the past summer it has gotten ridiculous hot on the in-door soccer area. For the prices that we are all paying that shouldn't be a issue. Both the little kickers and the youth soccer have doubled in price and not to mention the over priced food they sell just to have my kids play uncomfortable due to the lack of circulating air.

Im not sure why this place has many high reviews. It's an affordable place, but that's just it. In my experience, volleyball at this location is the worst I've seen. Some coaches don't seem to have much experience. In addition, the teams are coed but not evenly distributed by gender. Therefore, a team of girls can find themselves playing against mostly boys. I watched too many girls get hit in the face just because of a boy. Talk about safety issues. Yet this place will just have you sign the waiver, collect the fee, and the rest is your problem. Furthermore, they say all levels welcome, but nope. Volleyball here is not for beginners. Since not all coaches have experience being one, they don't know what to do with beginners. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way. My youngest was basically being laughed at by her own team. The final straw was when they decided to do it in a game as they yelled at her for missing the ball. My daughter basically just froze in the game by everything being said and done. What did the coach do? She came over after the game to say, "Good job hanging in there. I know the girls said many things, but you did great pushing through it. I just wanted you to know that's the one good thing you did. " The one good thing? You mean let her own team bully her? How about talking to girls for their behavior? Because of this, she is no longer finishing the season. She's just another player this place collected easy money from.

The coach if any depending on the team your kids are on.The staff not very helpful when you have a problem had a championship coach kicked out for protecting his kids when the referee refused to do it. My last straw was my kid being red carded in a game for pushing after the other player called him a curse word.only thing the ref could say he was pushing so always the second person caught.then to escort a 11 year old out the building for that not let him celebrate with his team he worked all season for. I will never return there again there not building up the kids there breaking them down. They need direction not to be treated like cattle.so 1 star from me . Melvin

Signed my four year old up here for the summer soccer program. He’s attended one class so far and he had the best time. I love how it’s extremely affordable and only once a week. They offer flexible times too. He definitely wants to make coming here a regular thing. It’s a great environment for young children. My son was removed on the list because they refused to take an over the phone payment and when by the time I went in person to make that payment he was already removed off the list.It happened several times to the point of instead of making this place a relaxing area it is now a frustration for kids knowing that today they might be playing today and lose a spot tomorrow

My only experience here is for gymnastics, and it's a terrible venue for the sport. Cramped, uncomfortable. I can't imagine it is fire marshal approved.
The parking lot is like they forgot to pay the pavement crew and they came back and tore it out. Gymnastics gyms should look elsewhere to host a meet.

This establishment hires teenagers to "coach" teams of every sport, trust me when I tell you there is no "coaching" going on. They are not even managing the teams. There is nothing fundamental being taught about any sport, your child is just allowed to run around and throw a ball around aimlessly. It is a complete waste of money, the paid staff are literally making easy money left and right! It would be cheaper to take your child to the Boys and Girls Club. I don't understand why an organization such as this would not want to hire athletes who have an actual interest in sharing their skills and knowledge with children. They choose to hire and pay for young individuals who simply entertain and play with your child for one hour a week, then for another hour on game day, they stand on the sidelines and critize the children on their own team or better yet just look at their phone annoyed and bored - trust me, I've seen both and it's so disgusting and disturbing. There is no set curriculum or standards for practice. Games are horrible, some kids are naturals and do well, while the others who desperately need guidiance and to be taught basic skills are humiliated week after week. It is so sad. Save you money and frustration and avoid this place! You owe it to your child.

I had high hopes for Avondale sports center, but unfortunately, our experience has been far from positive. The league has shown unfair practices that not only affect the kids' enjoyment but also undermine the spirit of sportsmanship.

From the start, it seemed clear that favoritism was at play. Some teams received preferential treatment during games, with biased officiating that consistently favored them, impacting the outcomes unfairly especially those that are employees coaching teams in the league. It's disheartening to see the hard work of our kids overshadowed by what feels like an unjust system.

Moreover, the communication from the league’s coordinator, Leia Walton, who is at the forefront of all this chaos. Her communication has been lacking. Instead of fostering a supportive environment for all teams, there have been instances where it appeared they had a clear preference for certain teams. This not only demoralizes the players but also leaves parents frustrated and confused.

I do want to thank, John, the owner for always being supportive but as an owner he cannot run the facility on his own. Unfortunately the coordinator has made this experience one that I would not wish on any parent trying to show their child a positive environment with valuable life lessons through competition and teamwork. Unfortunately, it seems to be more about politics than fairness. I would not recommend American sports center - Avondale. if you’re looking for a meaningful and equitable experience for your kids. Unfortunately it’s been a major disappointment.

Experienced a week long summer sports camp and was disappointed to say the least. Coaches were inconsistent throughout the week, they called instructions out to the campers while sitting in a chair off to the side on their phones. One coach in particular was constantly on her phone, texting and making calls. She even took a 5 minute phone call and left the kids standing there wondering what to do. Coaches were rolling their eyes and gave off the vibe that they would rather be anywhere else, and the campers definitely picked up on it. The coaches allowed campers to boss each other around and make fun of each other without redirection. Gave two stars because the facility itself is nice and well maintained.

Was there for a basketball tournament awesome place. They have a food court if you're hungry. 4 basketball courts. Great viewing of all the courts
If you're a player, the temperature is perfect. Spectaculars might get a little chilly but not too bad if you like cooler temperatures. I saw a lot of folks wearing long sleeve shirts. Bathrooms are very clean. Parking for tournaments, you might want to leave early to get a closer parking space.

They make you pay a membership fee but if you don’t sign up for each season within literal minutes of it being available your child can’t get a slot! Watching teens play basketball and found the Ref,s call fouls one sided and when fans complained he called a stop to game and had all the people, spectators kicked out of the building for yelling that they didn't call fouls, the female manager just took the Ref,s side and ordered everyone to leave ,that the ref,s were fed up with everyone telling them to call the fouls both ways.i had 2 grandsons playing that night Wednesday October 25th approximately 6:30am

Overall, the facility is great, especially as a local place where kids from 5 years to 95 years can participate in league sports. The coaching staff is excellent, the facility is huge with ample space for multiple teams to play concurrently.

This is the desert, one of the hottest municipal areas in the country. Finding a safe place to play sports in the summer is a challenge. ASC meets that challenge well. Great air conditioning, decent spectator seating, good washrooms, and a bonus snack bar that is efficient and friendly.

My only complaint is cleanliness and maintenance. There is significant cost to the player for the use of the facility and as such, there is an expectation that the facility should be clean and the equipment in good repair. Someone should be inspecting the courts, nets, and surfaces weekly and that isn’t happening. Or the inspectors are lazy or blind. The courts have some damage as well. Keep it nice, ASC

Also - this is a city sports club. Charging $2.50 for a bottle of water that costs .50 cents is disgraceful. It should be more affordable.

Overall I think that this is a very good and clean environment. The place is well managed and there are multiple courts. What I wish they would have is something similar to other places like RioVista Park. In someone places there are a certain time where they have open gym however, it cost 5 dollar or more for day use, during those times. I believe it's a great thing they have it because some people don't want to pay a lot of money to rent the court and play by themselves. And they might not want a membership. Open gym can help them come play and meet with other people and help the community. More people will come to use the place if they are not limited by the membership, I believe those with membership can have more privileges in some things. The Sport Center also don't have to take away those that rent the court, they could dedicate 1 court for open gym at a certain time and after, teams can come practice or play their games. I think there could be improvement especially financially wise, to help bring the community more.

Hello, this review is based off specifically the lack of passion for coaching on Paige’s part. She coaches for Orlando City ages 5-6. Paige allows the kids to run around while she is on her phone and/or talking to her friends. Paige doesn’t provide the kids with any sort direction whatsoever during practices or games. As a parent it is very disappointing as all we wanted is for our child to start understanding the concept of the game. Parents make sure if you sign up your child for soccer please make sure Paige is not the coach it will be a waste of your child’s and your time plus waste of your money.
