I have been a member of anytime fitness for years this location in particular has instrumental in changing my life, I like to refer to it as the church, this gym has all the equipment you need to get the job done love the environment , staff in attentive and knowledgeable and the owner in amazing and cares about his clients like family, I definitely give this gym a 💯

Regardless of how good a gym is or isn't, subscriptions are bad. Period. Almost everywhere else has stopped doing this because it's wrong. This specific location is fine enough, to answer the employee's question. They have what they need to in order to charge what they charge for membership. Back when their plans were affordable (they cost MUCH more now 2 years later), I was a member in Mesa. I'd occasionally visit the other locations, this one among them. I didn't have any problems with the facilities but they were missing a few pieces of equipment I expected them to have and the showers were often iffy if you'd get hot water, but they are private. Just expect to pay a lot and get locked in for long periods of time if you don't want to pay even more. Also, plans are specific to each location. By and large, Anytime Fitness is entrapment-based so if there is ANY REASON WHATSOEVER why you might not be able to pay, choose a different gym. Anytime Fitness is also one of the worst gyms to be indebted to. Their fines are extreme and they delight in using them freely. Also it's a huge pain in the butt to cancel your membership, even when you have every right to. I had to physically be present in the office to cancel, which is absurd. It's the worst gym chain I've ever been a member of in about 20 years of going to the gym. There, I added additional details about this specific location.

Always dirty. Weights never reracked. Nothing ever put back where it should be. People on the phone in the gym regularly. It's clear no one here cares about their gym and it's super disappointing. Would not recommend.

Visiting from out of town, checking out some AF gyms in the area. Had a good AF app workout at this location on Chandler Ave.
This gym is nicely equipped. Well-kept machines/equipment, no dust or sweat droplets. :D
Spacious gym, not too big to get lost in. Roomy enough that I did not bump into the other 4 or 5 members there.
The bathrooms/showers were very clean.
There are cubbies for your belongings, not locked lockers.
I will be back for another workout here !

Synopsis: Quiet gym with plenty of equipment, space, and amenities.

Girlfriend and I were vacationing in the Phoenix area and needed to continue training even while away from home. I reached out to the manager a few days before leaving to make sure our memberships would be good in AZ and got a response the next day.

The gym is great. There is plenty of space for a small spot and a variety of machines, dumbbells, and free weight areas to do just about anything. We never had to wait for anything during our trips to the gym as there were never many people there. Twice during the week we trained completely alone and never saw more than 5 people in the gym at one time.

Highly recommend this Anytime spot if you are in the area and looking for a spot to train.

I usually go to another location in Tempe but stopped in today. I never leave google reviews but thought this one needed it. Place was in shambles. Weights were next to nonexistant. I walked around the whole gym looking for 10lb plates and after I found two (which was all I needed) I kept looking and only saw two more.....in the whole gym. I'm a big fan of Anytime Fitness I've been a member for 4 or 5 years and most locations I've been to are clean and have everything you need but this location needs some work.

I’ve been coming to this gym for a few months since moving to Arizona. It’s always organized and I can find everything I need easily. I’ve been visiting the greater Phoenix area spending time in a few areas. I’ve been lucky enough to train with some friends whom have a membership, and in turn I’ve paid the guest fees to train. BUT not until today. Whomever the person in charge was in this facility, I interrupted his workout, and didn’t allow me in. On top of that the THREE actual anytime members that I came with were then made to feel uncomfortable while they trained.
The gentleman didn’t introduce himself, just rudely brushed me off and said we don’t allow guests. Then why have a guest form out on the table? And why turn down a daily or weekly fee I was willing to pay?
I’ve been in the industry for over 20+ years, and actually own my own Athlete Training Center back home…I’ve never been turned down, let alone by an employee whom didn’t introduce himself or even effort any customer service.
I calmly left and gave my business to Eos down the street which had much better customer service.
Hopefully whomever checks this, may want to have a chat and work the customer service a touch better, so this doesn’t happen to a willing paying customer.

DO NOT JOIN AT THIS LOCATION!! Or anytime at all. I have been trying to cancel my membership for a month now, via email, call, txt and visiting the location and each time I go there nobody is in office, mind you I go during business hours. I had to call abc financial to try to get someone to help me cancel my membership. They said they will try on their end to reach out to anytime via email. I am leaving a review as well with BBB because I’m done with anytime fitness and I hope this review helps someone in the near future

Potential customers beware; I made an agreement with the previous owner Jen. New owner Brian was going to honor deal at first. Once we sat down in the club he said he wasn’t able to honor that deal. I was upset but figured it was his business and his decision. I let him know I would cancel my membership. He replied, “you’re in a contract”. I let him know I agreed to a different price. He replied the contracted said otherwise. I left and disputed with my credit card company. A couple of months later he tried through another credit card processing company. I again disputed. He then sent me to collections. Keep in mind I was a “member” less then two weeks and used the gym twice in the first 5 days. I feel bad you bought a business at the top of the market and are going through financial trouble due to COVID. It just doesn’t make good business sense to treat people like this. I hope you’re able to turn things around.

Great place to workout, it has all the equipment you need, it's not packed at all and the people who go to the gym are friendly but not so friendly to where they talk to you the whole time and you cant get a workout in. It has tons of cleaning bottles with rags all over the gym. Staff is very friendly, they offer personal training sessions, if you're interested in that. They also have a machine that acts as a personal trainer inside that is completely free to use. It's open 24/7.

Dark and dingy! I've been to 22 different Anytime gyms across the country and this one unfortunately was at the bottom of the list. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon at 3:30, and it was empty! It was so dark I thought it was closed. The energy saving bulbs are a cheap way to go and not bright enough which makes it very dark and dingy. There wasn't even a manager or trainer on staff and this should have been peak hours for the gym. Spend the money to upgrade your lighting. Give it a boost and you'll increase business.

I had held out hope that they where not like the other big box gyms. I prepaid for my membership when I went to tell them that I had financial changes and would not renew my membership they said no problem we will freeze your account until you can pre pay another year... three months later the collection calls began... no help from the staff/manager on resolving the issue so now I am expected to pay some collection agency for months of membership that I was never even able to use?? Good luck extorting money from me!! Lol

Stay stay stay AWAY from this location. The “manager” here has NO IDEA what they are doing. They will not let you cancel your membership and will totally give you the runaround. I actually happen to run into another couple who had the same problem. It’s AWFUL. Anytime is a FRANCHISE and corporate absolutely will not step in. I have documentation of cancellation and they are telling me “oh no sorry, can’t help you”.

This is not my "home" Anytime, but because it's close to my work I will often drop in a couple of times a week. It's a bit of an odd club and far from being on par with many of the Anytime's I've been too (and I've been to many). It's dark and too small and I would never pay to workout at this specific location.

THE BAD -

Did I mention it is dark? Uh, yeah, is this club tying to save $$$ by slumming on the electric bill and a/c? Me thinks yes. It is very dim and hot (that's why they have those fans everywhere). I don't mind that much on either personally, but if you like or need a bright, cheery place with ice cold a/c to get your workout on, then look elsewhere. Don't even bother.

Also, it is poorly laid out, has very little room for free weight training with benches, has no Smith machine, and would make any Planet Fitness proud by comparison with its dearth of 10 lb, 25 lb and 45 lb plates. Worse, there is no tree or stack for the few plates the gym has. The barbell preacher curl is in the middle of the gym, which forces you to walk all the way over to the squat rack to get even a 10 lb weight (of which the entire gym might have fewer than 7 or 8 of total!). Where is the centrally located plate tree?? I'm not being lazy, it's just it's inconvenient and requires you to walk past and through other lifers and possibly interfere with them just to get a few 25 lb plates. What's that all about?

This gym has no Hammer Strength equipment because, well, err, uh, it doesn't have room for it. Gotta have that wasted 30 feet by 30 feet lobby space that corporate requires to give that first impression of spaciousness, together with that meaningless trophy shelf? And of course the trainer, who should be, I don't know, maybe, "training", has an office that also takes up previous floorspace.

Two more quick "bads". The TVs are connected to over-the-air antennas only (presumably to save even more $$$ on cable), so no catching that ESPN game live if you happen to be at the gym at that time. Also, what in the name of any and all that is decent are all those disinfectant spray bottles doing on literally EVERY machine. I am big on spraying and wiping my machines after each use (common gym courtesy), but having these ugly bottles with rags on the back of every machine is unsightly. Don't know about you, but I don't keep cleaning products visible in my home (yet, remarkably my house is clean, huh, go figure). I realize some people need more of a "reminder" but most people that don't spray and won't aren't going to bother doing it even if you hand it to them. The end result is a few of these bottles could be placed at random, more hidden away and less bothersome places in the club and the machines would probably be just as clean. Instead we are treated to a giant eye sore that messes with my workout vibe.

THE GOOD -

if all you want or primarily need is cardio then this might be the gym for you. There have an entire wall of nice Precor treadmills with plenty of lifespan left. The opposite wall has several ellipticals and bikes. Again, all top notch. The gym does have Precor strength training equipment as well, which I very much like over LifeFitness (brand most Anytime Fitness have), but I prefer the slightly older school models of this brand. But that's a personal quibble.

OVERALL -

I've never been in this gym with more than 1 or 2 other people, but cannot even dare to imagine what it would be like if there are more than 3 or 4 dudes in the strength area. I'll give 2 stars for the cardio options, and most of the strength equipment is decent, but overall this gym just has a substandard vibe. Been a member for years, mostly due to no serious competitors. They still struggle to provide basic stuff like paper towels and disinfectant spray to wipe down equipment. Gyms have a lot of germs. How hard it's it to make sure to have plenty for your clients!!!

I come here every so often and was a little disappointed with my visit early this morning. I needed to run to keep up my training for the Full Marathon in October. My reason for going to the gym in first place was due to the extreme heat. The gym was just as hot as it was outside and stuffy to boot. I wasn't impressed with the lack of cleaning either. However, they have a huge roadwork project going on Chandler Blvd. so that must create quite the mess. Ugh! Maybe next time. Their equipment is impressive though.

This is a decent small gym but the personal trainer I signed up for was terrible. All she is talked about is the bar she started working at and how much she liked going out to drink... I tried it for a month but I seen no results. Most likely due to the amount of time she wanted to bullshit more than workout.. She even invited me to go out with her to drink.. Something I definitely was not interested in.. I'm trying to get in shape and having someone so immature did not work. Owners seemed really nice but I wouldn't ask for Erica again. I understand the reason for her lack of clients. Other than that If you want a quiet small gym this is great as it gets the job done. I would of given the gym more stars but due to my experience I couldn't.

This Hands down has to be the best gym ive been to in Arizona. They live up to the convenience they preach. I live down the road and love the way I have a key and I can come and go when ever I want or need.

Visiting in town for business and after looking around at the other gyms in Arizona this is easily the best one! The managers (Stephen and Erica) took very good care of me. They were not salesmen but rather very up front and seemed to be there to help me not sell! this gym provided me a very clean and hassle free place to workout. I have been going to this specific gym for quite awhile now. Love the atmosphere at the gym, everyone is friendly and always is willing to spot you! Its never too busy so rarely do I have to wait for equipment, which is VERY important to me. It also offers very cool classes like Zumba, Pound fitness and bootcamp, also the personal trainers are also very knowledgeable. The owner Jay is very laid back and approachable and has a awesome SUPER friendly dog named Iko that chills at the gym, he always brightens my mood when going to the gym and I think he does the same for everyone else.
