Scammers, told me it was a trial and I can cancel whenever I wanted. When it was time to cancel they wanted a bill which I did not have yet. I asked them several times to cancel my account I only went to their location one time. Now I have a 700 dollar collection on my account I refuse to pay. I have already reached out to the BBB. From what I’ve seen on Reddit is they do this a lot.supposedly this is a family owned business well I hope yall go bankrupt .

Extremely dissatisfied in the customer service. The regional manger is a misleading manipulative salesman. Was told a cancelation form would be filled out for me since I just wanted a membership for the summer to walk. Now getting charged an extra month due to the form never being filled out like I was promised it would be. Their WiFi was down the day I signed up and was told it would be filled out for me after it was back up. Now I’ll be losing money because he “doesn’t remember” any of this.

Been with Anytime fitness for over 10 years through various states and countries and this is by far the nicest and biggest gym I’ve ever had the pleasure to train at! Was in Phoenix on business and trained here for three nights and I found myself more sore than I’ve ever gotten on a business trip with the diverse equipment they have here! Gym is so incredibly expansive with brand new and even niche training equipment. If there is a particular piece of equipment you’re looking for at a gym, they have it, I promise. Thanks for a great workout and I’m truly jealous - I wish my local anytime fitness was as nice as this location!

I've actually filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Of course, the management lied to them about their mistreatment of me. DO NOT TRUST THESE UNETHICAL JERKS!! Stay clear of this place, the staff is dishonest, they had me sign up for an extra 6 months that they knew I couldn't use, telling me that I could use them somewhere else, or that I could get my money back if I didn't. And now they're going back on that verbal agreement with me. So I wouldn't trust these people as far as I can throw them, and they have the business morals like we see in Washington DC currently. Very clear this place, and because of that I would probably stay clear of anytime fitness! I hear Orange Theory is nice!

I’m not sure what’s changed over the past year, but this gym is consistently packed. I only use the treadmills for running. A year ago, only 1/2 the treadmills were used at most. Now, I consistently have to wait for the treadmills—even with changing my workout schedule. I’m considering cancelling my membership to find a gym with more equipment. Definitely disappointed.

I was in Phoenix for one week for a family memorial and needed a place for stress relief. The staff at Anytime Fitness gave me a great deal on a week membership, and were always welcoming and kind to me during a time when I really needed it (thank you so much to manager Nick (?)). I am a member of two nice gyms back home, including one at a university - and I found this Anytime Fitness location to have a fine selection of machines and weights. There was also a staff member constantly cleaning during each of my four visits. I had some great workouts here and never experienced the crowding that others mentioned , even when working out at peak after-work times. Highly recommend!

Sadly, I am writing this review on the day I had to cancel but I had to say it at least once—this is one of the best gyms I’ve joined. From the state of the equipment to the staff. Shoutout to Nick, especially, who always greets his members with a smile. I can’t think of a time that I sat near the office (just to rest) and a staff member didn’t come up to me to ask me if I needed anything. They’re all very attentive and helpful. I was never a part of the group classes but I’ve always watched and admired how the trainers are so inclusive of everyone, young and older. Yes the membership may be on the pricier end, but I’ve always felt it was for good reason. Hardly ever a wait on machines and the premises are always kept clean. Belongings are safe here too. I’ve left my phone/AirPods a few times and came back way later to find it in the exact same spot. Counting the days for when I’ll be able to rejoin again!

After attending a year here it was actually a really decent gym at first , enough space / plenty of machines not that crowded. Now it’s ridiculous, I’m not sure if I walk into a gym or a day care . PACKED so crowded with not just people and their kids working out but stacking machines so close as they are getting more feels like each day . They have also added so much light and just feels like a hospital now . Many of the people that were here have moved to different gyms like myself as they to hate the vibe . Good luck going when it’s not packed into a hospital bright gym with little kids working out next to you. 2 stars as the bathrooms do stay clean that’s about it

They will trap you into an expensive contract here. They do not care about you, they will at first, a few calls to check on you to make you feel welcomed. Some time goes by and they worry about the payments more, they overcharge for training and classes. I was paying over $250 a month for 3 trainer sessions? When other gyms charge $150 for unlimited training. I sent them a letter to discontinue in 2023 and they still charged me even when I had 3 surgeries when they charged me. No call, no email, no voicemail.

Now, they are putting $3,000+ on my credit because of it. Don't trust them. No matter how sweet, how nice, they just want your money. They wiped my bank account out to negative before.

I'd give a negative five stars if I could. I canceled my membership due to a move for work. I had no anytime fitness option within 50 miles from where I was moving. I was continuing to get billed, when asked to cancel again they refused to recognize I canceled and then sent my son who is a minor to collections. We had to get the attorney general involved to get his credit cleared and now they are s ending me to collections. I am disputing it on principle. A business is willing to alienate someone that may be a potential future member again over $400 dollars in dues that were for months that were never even used is criminal. These guys are crooks only do month to month and don't give them your debit card information. Use a credit card so you have a way to dispute the charges. Or even better find a gym that is not a bunch of thieves!

They don't hold their end of the contract. My first trainer was more interested in being popular with a very few people than to actually train me. My second trainer lasted one day. I showed up on the second day and he had quit, with no substitute available. Third trainer lasted two sessions and quit. Again I showed up and nobody was available to substitute accept my first trainer who I refuse to work with. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH ANYTIME FITNESS ARCADIA. They will continually fail to honor their end of the contract. You will repeatedly show up and be left standing there alone with no trainer.

I’ve a 54-year old man who’s trying to age well and am aware of the importance of diet and resistance training. I’ve always been active and engaged in weight training. However in my 50’s I’ve struggled being consistent. I hired Ivan Lopez at Anytime Fitness and have been a client for over a year. The results are amazing as I’m adding muscle. I don’t get dude much anymore despite increasing resistance. Diet is key as is sleep!! Highly recommend Anytime Fitness and Personal Trainer Ivan Lopez.

I've seen a bunch of anytime fitness locations across North America. The best one atmosphere wise so far has been Cochrane Alberta Canada as its a second floor gym with 180 degree glass overlooking the Rocky mountains.

But... for the desert... THIS particular Anytime fitness is high level. First, they have parking shades for your car in a bunch of the spots. I know this isn't uncommon in Phoenix but still. Entry way outside well lit and not sketchy. Secondly, the Gym layout makes sense. If you work out a lot you'll understand what I mean. The gym is clean and the equipment is in good condition and they have all the basics anyone needs to get jacked. Decent location for water fountain too, being a central location, as are the washrooms. My interaction with Staff has also been very good.

There's zero reason not to join this location. Anytime fitness on average is a no brainer for someone like me who travels and works out more than 3 times a week... and this location in particular scores very high.

This is another gym that will not let members cancel. Another gym that intentionally requires members to come physically into the gym to cancel, in violation of Arizona.

ARS § 44-1793(I)(3) states: "A health spa must notify a customer of the methods to cancel or suspend the customer's contract that are described in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of this subsection. A customer may cancel or suspend the customer's contract by notifying the health spa of the cancellation or suspension by any of the following methods: (3) Emailing a notice to the email address that is specified in the contract or, if there is not an email address specified, to any email address that is used by the health spa for customer service."

This law was enacted because gyms, like this one, have long practiced these dishonest and underhanded tactics when it comes to membership cancellations. They refuse to let you cancel. They ignore your request to cancel. And you will have to waste your time dealing with their resistance and sales pitch when you capitulate and go into the gym to cancel.

I emailed my cancellation notice to ABC Fitness, which is the billing company for Anytime Fitness. I submitted my cancellation notice to this gym via their web contact form. Not surprisingly, this gym does have any publicly displayed email address, only because they want to prevent members from cancelling. However, their web contact form is titled as "Email" so it satisfies the statute.

Even though I requested responses and confirmations from ABC and Anytime, Anytime has ignored my messages despite me sending 3 of them on different days. ABC responded to my email 3 business days later stating that I had to physically go into the gym and "fill out paperwork" to cancel my membership.

It's the same old run around from a gym when a member tries to cancel. Many people do not realize that there are specific laws enacted to handle these types of situations, and the gyms rely on this ignorance to bully people.

To preface, I come from one of the top Anytime Fitness locations in the US (shoutout to AF Dyer), so my standards are really high. This ATF in Phoenix has the most welcoming and service oriented management. However, this is not the spot for my fellow cardio bunnies. The treads and other cardio equipment are super outdated, and my knees say the tread belts haven’t been replaced in awhile…if at all. Don’t plan on connecting to any of your smart devices to track any metrics either. But if you’re a heavy lifter or care more about your strength days then I would def recommend.

I really thought this gym was nice. The equipment is new and I believe there are more machines compared to some gyms. If it was just using the equipment to work out I would have no issues. However, I tried their personal fitness programs which while nice to have at first just turned into problems later down the road. The owner/manager is an awesome guy who knows all the regulars by name and always has a smile on his face. I have called and left 4 voicemails (over the span of 2 months) asking for someone to return my call and no one has as well as stopping in twice but there is never anyone available to help. Since I have signed up, I moved out of the area, nowhere near an anytime but after reading the terms, I was locked in to a year contact with them (stupid me) so been paying $22/biweekly for nothing as my gym has a great gym! I signed up online for a 7 day pass to try the gym out. It then required me to choose a day and time to come by to pick up my fob and get a “tour”. Really limited time selection, so I decided to cut my work break early to squeeze it in.

When I got there I was informed this location “doesn’t participate in the 7 day trial pass, but we can give you a tour.”. While that’s fully understandable it’s equally understandable why making me drive over to inform me of that is asinine. If you can send me multiple texts confirming the appointment, you can call me to tell me you don’t participate in the pass, but are happy to offer a tour.

It’s a scummy sales tactic, and immediately left a bad taste in my mouth.

(Please note the dude I spoke with was very nice and polite. This wasn’t about the treatment or tone when I got there, it’s about not wasting peoples time when you have the ability to just call and clarify.)

My son in law has been trying to cancel his membership for months. They moved out of state and have found the process impossible.

He finally got the cancellation form in August after MONTHS of trying. Even though the form was completed and immediately sent, they were just charged over $100 today, in OCTOBER!

He is in law school and they are living on one income and yet this greedy franchise keeps stealing money from their pockets with their predatory practices.

Do not join this gym unless you want to die with your estate continuing to pay your gym fee…because death probably isn’t enough to cancel this membership.

I grew up in this area and of all the gyms around here, Anytime is top tier. The management is a joy to interact with and has been fair with me as I've dealt with some hiccups throughout my time there. I really enjoy having access to a fitness center at any hour of the day, I used to go to planet fitness which offers this, but my fitness habits outgrew their lack of equipment. I have now been a member here for almost 4 years and it has been consistently great. The staff is very friendly and do their best to accommodate any feedback and requests members have. This gym used to be so much better a few years ago! I find it very disappointing that a lot of the machines are probably within inches of each other. Which makes it feel very cramped while working out. I’m also sad they made that little studio open rather it being enclosed like it was a few years back. Can’t recommend this place enough! A hidden gem for sure. I was recently traveling to Phoenix and needed a gym to get a lift in - I’m old school, really only needed a barbell and plates. I called a gym very near my hotel, but the day pass was exorbitantly pricey. I called Anytime which was just a tiny bit farther away, but Nick was super friendly and accommodating and happened to be there in the hours I was able to come in. And the price was totally reasonable for a guest pass. On top of all that - this is one of the nicest Anytimes I’ve seen! It’s huge - 5 (maybe more?!) squat racks, free weights, a weight machine for almost everything, and just enough cardio equipment (the way I like it!). Super well maintained, too. I happened to be there around peak hours, but it was not overly crowded and everyone was courteous. The community itself seemed cool too - lots of fit folks/athletes, people who get it. Nick even stopped by to say hi and check in during my lift. I’ve definitely found my “go to” gym whenever I’m in town!

First time at this location. I travel extensively all over the country and this is the best Anytime I've experienced in 13 years, by a wide margin.. nice people, lots of space and a huge selection of gear. The members seem to take fitness seriously and are respectful of others in their proximity. Impressive!

I appreciate the gym giving us our right to either wear a mask or not!! If you're scared to workout in the gym with maskless people, then stay home or wear your mask! The governor has lifted the mask mandate, he is allowing businesses to make there own policy.

Staying for a week in Phoenix and I am glad that this wasn't too far from the hotel. Big facility! Very clean and just a whole array of equipment to use! I mask up when I go to the gyms, granted it was 2 am, but def saving this one for future use in my travels.

Great gym. One of the better Anytime. Clean. Good equipment. The only gym in a AZ that I've found that has heat in the winter. Nice to be warm. If you worry about mask, go outside or stay home.

Very close to 5 stars here. What strikes me most about this particular Anytime, is the acceptance of serious lifters. It is very hard to come by a chain gym that allows for serious lifting. Most gyms I go to I get warned for grunting when I’m pushing myself very very hard. Not at this gym though, and it is greatly appreciated to lift at a gym I feel welcomed at. In addition, the trainers are always very friendly, and when I sometimes do go a touch too far, they let me know in a kind manner without being stand-off-ish. The equipment here is phenomenal, as good if not better than you can find at higher priced gyms. The only drawback is that it is so cold! It’s gotta be in the 50’s in there which makes it insanely difficult to keep a pump throughout your lift and keep your core temperature up. Other than that it is for sure 5 stars. Very good gym, very good staff, and a good place for serious or recreational lifters alike.

I have been to many gyms before this and the by far is the most friendly team and atmosphere I have ever been to!! Nate is the best coach and personal trainer I have ever worked with! His BURN, BASE, and BUILD classes are what keep me in the best shape! He is so motivational during the class and really keeps you going strong till the time is up! 5 star review 100%!

I stopped into this location while in town on business. I had some time to kill before my flight and was able to get my workout in, grab a shower, and go. Great selection of equipment, clean showers, plenty of shower/restroom availability. The building was a little warm but it was Phoenix in the summer, so I'm sure that's hard to manage.

I have been to a lot of gyms here in Phoenix in the past few years and the best thing is that they honestly do not pressure you into anything which is a lot said for them. And the place was always quiet enough that you could get a good workout in. I would still be there but when I joined I was only working 1 job, but I eventually had to work 2 jobs and just couldn't find time to get a workout in. Seriously they are the best gym, great people. I highly recommend Anytime Fitness.

i would not recommend this gym to even my worst enemy. i have not been charged more then any other gym. if you are looking for a honest gym with good rates and nice employees then this anytime fitness is not your gym. they will take away your whole checking account and when you're canceling they will smile and be rude to you, just cause they know that they charged you way more then you should of paid. i was very eager to start working out so i made all the signatures, my fault they won. but never again will i sign myself into a contract in a gym where the owner doesn't care about their attendees. they only care about charging to as much money as possible. do yourself a favor and do not attend this anytime fitness or any other one.

My experience was PERFECT! In my city we don't have these types of gyms and installations, you gave another experience, I went for almost 1 month at 5 am, it was super clean, I loved the machines, the staff was so nice, the parking lot was empty and I enjoyed every second of it!
