Pain in the butt to cancel. You can’t talk with anyone on the phone to cancel, it is all through email. You cannot cancel directly through your club location even though you can sign up there. The corporate customer service is not able to help cancel either. Literally only done through email. They get your information wrong too. The gym is fine… but doesn’t have enough stuff in my opinion for the price. They should have a month to month option. I only got a membership here, because it was closer to my house than EOS. I’ve struggled to work out since getting a membership here because this gym is NOT motivating to be in. I’m going back to EOS, where I would go everyday.

Lies lies lies! Their website says open 24 hours but that’s only for members. They only have staff on site from 9-5. I’m visiting from out of town and went through all of the trouble of driving there only to find out there’s no access for me. I’m only annoyed because it’s not on the website and because I have a two hour break between meetings and was so psyched to get a workout in. So I wasted the only time I had for a workout. False advertising.

Go there a few times a week, and another gym the other days from work/travel. I consider this my “home” gym, besides proximity to my home, it’s clean, comfortable, same faces, managers are great, friendly and accessible. Had some issues canceling a membership from an ex, but they were always helpful and got me through it. I’d definitely recommend them,a little on the smaller side, but they have everything you need for a great workout.

One of the best run and kept up gym in the entire valley. I've been to at least 10 others and feel the professionalism and cleanliness are second to none. Also, the Silver Sneaker transition went swiftly and easily. The positive attitude of this management team is contagious. Just try working out there a few weeks and experience it.

Cancel my membership. I had a stroke and two brain surgeries and spent two months in the hospital. I'm on an IV twice a day and can't even go to the bathroom or dress myself. I am confined to home. I can't speak. I have aphasia. I asked you two months ago to cancel my membership and you people sent me to collections??? JFC. Like I don't have enough going on in my life right now. Just stop.

I was excited to give this gym a try because of the location and accessibility, which are the reasons for the 2 stars I gave. However, this gym is dirty, rundown, in need of repairs and a deep cleaning. I also observed numerous people not wiping down the equipment after use. I have not returned since my first visit and am extremely disappointed since there are no other options in the area.

I recently visited Anytime Fitness and had an unpleasant experience. A guy in the gym was repeatedly slamming around 500 pounds on the thin carpet -concrete while doing deadlifts. It was so disruptive that I had to leave. Since it takes me about 30 minutes to get to the gym and another 15 minutes to travel to a different one, it was frustrating to have my workout derailed like this.

When I reached out to the gym about it, they informed me that they (the owner) don’t have any policies or rules against this kind of behavior. While I understand people are passionate about their workouts, this kind of environment isn’t what I’m looking for in a gym.

I’m reaching out to corporate about this and for now plan on going to another Anytime Fitness location. I've been going to anytime for 4-5 years now and never had a bad experience. It’s not a huge deal, but I’ve never experienced something like this at a gym before. Crazy loud.

Sorry, this will be long. Be wary of unexplained charges, and not providing you with your contract up front, as well as forging your initials on the contract. I first joined at the other San Tan location back in June. My health insurance offers a program for certain gyms where you get to join for $28/month and you can cancel at any time. I wanted to check it out in person first. At that time, the program was going through system maintenance so I'd have to wait a week to sign up. When I told the guy, he said he could give me a discount to sign up that day. It wouldn't be as low cost, and it wouldn't be through that program, but it was the lowest he could go. I was excited to join so I said yes. I've been paying $20 bi-weekly on auto payments since then. One day, out of the blue I had a charge of $39.99. I sent an email, and they said to contact my home gym. This location is now my home gym because they will switch you if you attend one more often than others, and this one is closest to my house. The response to my ticket was to contact my home gym for billing questions. I called, and the lady seemed confused. She said she would enter a ticket. I waited 10 days with no response from either, so I disputed with my bank. They cancelled my debit card, due to potential fraud. Not surprisingly, the gym finally contacted me, to say my account was past due. It wasn't, because my auto payments were still going through. When I called, they finally explained the fee was for "gym enhancement." I asked if I could cancel and they said they would notify member support. Today, the new manager of this gym emailed me to say that I agreed to the fee when I first joined the other gym, and that I would have to pay $250.00 to cancel. I told them that no one ever gave me a copy of my contract. They never explained the enhancement fee, the cancellation fee, or that your home gym gets switched if you visit one more than others. They did send me my contract today, and each page requires initials that the guy clearly just drew a squiggly on. Sorry for the long story, but please beware! Ask for a copy of your contract. I was excited to get healthy and made a bad decision to let this guy take me for a ride. I liked the gym well enough otherwise. Just shady business practices.

Moved and no longer go to anytime fitness. Gym isn't bad but forget about trying to cancel your membership. I've been trying for months to get them to cancel but can never reach anyone monday through friday at this location by phone and i don't live near here. Corporate wouldn't help either as they say each location is individually owned and operated and they would have to deal with cancellations. Just love being charged because management won't answer the phone ever and never responds back to my request to cancel my membership.

I have relocated to another state right after signing up for this membership- knowing that my contract was for a year, I have waited it out. I was going to this gym for a year and a half before I relocated to South Carolina so I cancelled my membership at the end of March I signed the paperwork and the lady told me I was good to go but she didn't send the cancelation paperwork through and I'm still being charged for the monthly fees, if anyone is going to cancel their membership at this location or any other locations make sure to take a pic of the cancelation paperwork that way you have proof. I'm still waiting to hear back from this gym to discuss why the cancelation was not processed.

Went to sign up for my free trial, gym is only staffed 9-5 Monday through Friday and you can't get in otherwise unless you're already a member. So unless you want to quit your day job to sign up, find a different gym.

Did Samuel Beckett have a gym membership? If he did, I suspect it was at Anytime fitness San Tan Valley. The days, weeks, months of waiting may have inspired Waiting for Godot.

My sister-in-law, quite reasonably, needed to cut short her membership because of covid. Quite reasonably, not wanting to die for her fitness.

Many, many calls later, she never did manage to speak to the manager.

But they were super-efficient at taking her to collection.

So be sure to get your fitness up, to run a mile from this sketchy business, and maybe try LA Fitness nearby, with no contract.

I have never had any issues with anytime other then this location. The manage approached me and said she saw me on the camera the day before and didn't take 100s off the leg press. Well they were on there before I got on it. She said she went to work out and was upset they were on the press so she looked up on the camera to see who used it last. Seriously???? This is a far better place than a large gym like mountain or LA Fitness. It is much smaller and sometimes you have to wait for a piece of equipment but the people there are just there to work out and not stand around or sit around on equipment talking on phones. The only drawback sometimes would be people on the machines working out and talking on their phones at the same time. Otherwise, I find it enjoying and I am able to just concentrate on a workout. The best thing I of found are the 2 trainers that I work out with twice a week. I never had such good diversity of workouts and the experience that they share. They're very positive and Encouraging that helps you push to your goal.

I would like to join this gym. I've been trying. I've left four messages last month and still have yet to receive any response. I've gone by four times as well and no manager has ever been there. The door is locked so a member let me in and told me that the manager wasn't there. The gym looks very nice and I'm anxious to start working out but how do I do that after four of my messages have not been answered? My nurse practitioner knows Lauren and referred me but I've had no success reaching anyone. Extremely frustrating and unprofessional in my opinion. I don't know what to do. I have a busy schedule. It's not like I can keep dropping by every hour of the day to see if the manager is there. I don't understand why four of my messages have not been answered. I joined this gym when I moved into San Tan Valley almost a couple years now. It was super convenient for me and my wife because of where we live. A few months ago I cancelled because I got a free membership at another gym that I started working at part time. I was given the option to freeze my membership first which was a great idea to buy me some time to see if the part time worked out, so I did that first. When it came time to cancel Lauren helped me out and she was very helpful. Well I'm not at my part time anymore so I will be going back to this gym this week. This location is small but they have what you need to get a good workout in, not to mention the classes, which are included. And if that's not enough they have other locations you can go to if you're on a different side of town or you'd rather workout, like I've done for example, upper body here and lower body at another location or vice versa. The truth is that it's not bad at all, it's 24/7 and it's great whether you're just starting to workout or have been for a very long time. If you're a beginner there is plenty of equipment that you haven't used and if you've been working out a long time you will definitely find what you need here to get a great workout in. And for cardio there's plenty of options. Parking is close to the gym so you don't have to walk very far and because it's in the Fry's parking lot you have easy access to do some food shopping or grab a bite before or after the gym.
