I’m in my second month now. I’ve enjoyed the class immensely and it’s helping me overcome several physical challenges I’ve endured through the years.
Master Kim and the staff are fun and engaging. They encourage the students to challenge themselves and each challenge brings benefits.
The dojo is brimming with healing energy! This is not an easy class but anyone can learn. The rewards are endless, great for stress relief. And healing the body and soul.
The more you put in the better it becomes, highly recommended!*

*Out of respect for the actual exercises, I would still recommend the daily classes.
However, there’s really no way I can leave this a five-star review.
Firstly, I do not want to be pushed into workshops where the lessons are underwhelming.
Secondly, I expressed some issues with the Master through an email and yet, he did the opposite of what I thought I asked for.
From day one, I made it clear that I took several martial arts for more than 20 years and had an accident and other life events get me off track.
They assume a lot and listen poorly.
The daily exercises did help me get back on track. However, I actually know a lot of things that are the complete forms.
I learned from a few Masters that did not lock information behind paywalls and who genuinely knew me and respected me.
The final straw for me to change my review is how Master Kim was teaching self defense that could only get a person seriously wounded or in a box. My wife was learning that?
I’m sure my comments might hit a few nerves. Imagine standing there unable to intervene while this guy gaslights everyone?
Tai Chi is movement of body, breath and spirt, yoga is for resistance and flexibility. For these things Body Brain is good, but as for self defense, they should have respect for others and not teach techniques that will get someone hurt.

I have been attending Body and Brain yoga for approximately 9 months now. I am in my mid sixties and have found the practices very beneficial in my life. I had a l4-l5 fusion back in 2019. After trying many different modalities, none which were benefitting me, I asked my surgeon what he recommended and he suggested yoga. I joined a yoga practice and did find it beneficial but not life changing and was far from my home. Practiced their for about 2 1/2 years. Do to the time constraints and my job, I began looking for an alternative closer to home. I tried body and Brain yoga and am making it my new home. I am physically stronger, more cognitive, more flexible and challenged then ever before. I feel like I'm getting younger and becoming a better me. The healing benefits are amazing. I have more energy, sleep better and learning more day by day. A lot of small steps create big steps, even at a senior age. Movement is medicine.

I have been practicing Body and Brain Yoga Taichi since 2008. On that time of my life I see no hope. Feeling so alone fighting day by day doing life routines as a mother of 2 little babies,a wife, working as a restaurant manager. My parents passed, I was not able to go and see both of them.

Great place to learn about yoga and Tai-chi. They follow their own way of using your brain and body to achieve a healthy life. The practice methods are simple and easy to follow, yet very effective. I started about a year ago after being diagnosed with Parkinsons. With an open mind and a desire to better myself physically with Master Kim's teaching. I soon learned the mental teaching on quieting my mind and focusing on my wellbeing.

I've been going for about 10 months after my friends came for visit, saying I needed to go. Can't say enough about what it has done for me. I no longer feel my knees giving way, now only once in a while. More endurance, better posture and overall better mental health. Even my arthritis is better. Awesome! Master Kim makes the class fun and easy.

I also would like to add that I talked to my pcp today and she asked how and what I was doing. I told her I was doing taichi 5 times a week and she said EVERYONE should be doing it. My blood work was perfect and she saw no problems whatsoever. We both agreed that it was too bad the insurance companies didn't pay for it.

I was led to body and brain yoga after a recent back issue that put me in a place of immobility and a lot of pain. What I love about this space is that Master Kim makes each and every class a surprise. He is always switching it up and making it FUN. πŸ€— Keeping us engaged and sharing stories and tidbits of wisdom for us to take home and incorporate into our own lives. After 30 years of living in a pretty stagnant place, having gone through a major depression, my body and brain are now thanking me for β€œwaking them back up” again.
We end each class in a circle holding hands and sharing what we experienced at that particular class/progress, etc. I am often emotional because the energy generated in that class between us all is a beautiful thing. Feels like FAMILY.

I started going to Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi seven or eight months ago and love it! The sense of community is strong with people of all walks of life attending and learning right beside me. The Head of the Center, Master Kim is friendly, skilled, knowledgeable, caring and always has us focused in a lighthearted way. There are smiles all around when a class is being led by Master Kim!
Personally, I underwent brain surgery in October of 2023. Part of being accepted for the procedure was a lengthy cognitive assessment to be used as a baseline for additional testing after the brain implant was complete and I had fully recovered.
When given the follow up evaluation, most patients experience a decline of some degree (it's brain surgery after all!). It may be short-term memory, speech, spatial recall, etc.
When my results came in, I had stayed the same or even improved in some areas! The doctors were quite excited and said this result was not expected.
The only explanation I have is the overall benefit I'm receiving from Master Kim and Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi!

As a senior citizen and recently retired, I began to experience health and physical problems related to my age. I looked for a tai chi class nearby as a supplement to a strictly medical solution and found Body and Brain Yoga Tai Chi. It has only been 2 months but I have an increase in energy and less tiredness. Focus is better, too. My flexibility has improved as has my sense of balance. Master Kim's approach is to focus on the body, mind and chi energy aspects of the tai chi moves which makes the approach easy to jump into and clearly realize benefits. The school also has many other classes to focus on other aspects of development which I plan to explore as I, myself, develop and improve as I will. Every once in a while life gives you a gift. The gift of a body that is touch with the brain. Through "Body & Brain's" teachings, which incorporates Yoga & Taichi, one is much more able to communicate and build health and a healthy lifestyle from within.
I was fortunate enough to meet Master Kim. 35 years before my first meeting with Master Kim I had a 300 lb box fall directly on the top of my head from 8 feet high. Luckily I was young... about 36 years old and I was fortunate enough not to have broken my neck. However, for the next 35 years I was unable to turn my head more than 15 degrees to either side. Sure, one learns to live with it and that range of motion became the norm for me. Util I walked into Body & Brain... which my wife has been attending classes for years, and spent just an hour with Master Kim. Yeah, I know you are thinking snake oil or some kind of temporary adjustment and pseudo psychological healing.... Same thing I thought when my wife used to beg me to go in and see Master Kim.
I am here to tell you that within an hour my head would turn to the right and left at a full 45 degrees. You know how it is an effort to get up off the floor even though you are not overweight? You know that old bones and old body excuse. Yes, in that same first hour, I learned to stand from sitting position with ease. One hour of my afternoon made a drastic change in my life.
So... retiring very soon and yes, I will take Master Kim's classes to get even better and take this 67 year old bodybuilder body and turn it into a flexible machine. My 66 year old wife can do it and so will I. Like they say... al the money in the world doesn't do you a bit of good if you are not well enough or strong enough to spend it!

In 2017 I was going through some tough times emotionally. I had been trying to find a therapist without much luck and my weekly yoga class lost their space. I found the Body and Brain Center on a search and made an appointment. I signed up after one session and am now halfway through my third year. My doctor recommended Thai Chi to help control the aggravation of every day life. Sufferinig IBS from not handling stress well, I agreed to try anything. This was the very best advice I've ever gotten from a medical professional. The folks at Body and Brain at 59th and Bell in Glendale understood exactly what I was suffering and how to make it better. After a year of classes only twice a week, (one can go take classes every day if they have the time) I am controlling my health and well being by having learned to understand my body and how to help it work. The instructors are skilled and communicative. They listen and offer solutions for various pains, aches and the plain ol' blahs. The classes are wonderful. No forcing of moves, you do what you can as close to what is demonstrated. It works. I feel great when I leave, I do moves while at home whenever it's convenient. It feels so good to relieve my arthritic pain and digestive problems and not have to take any meds. I have always felt welcome at the 59th st location. The folks there are real, alert and ready to listen and help. It all makes sense if you give it a chance. I'm 74 and still getting around just fine. - with their help!

The classes offered at this center are fun and effective! The classes differ depending on the day of the week, and all are designed to promote good fitness through body awareness, balance and relaxation. Classes are offered both in the mornings and evenings so they are easy to fit into most schedules.

The yoga classes are wonderful. My body has been detoxified so much after taking classes at Glendale center. Over last two years, my body has been craving less and less meat while detoxified. My life before Dahn Yoga was heading for a complete out-of-control melt down. I've always pride myself in having my act together. When I step into the Glendale Dahn Yoga Center I was close to tears. July 2014 was the start of a new journey for me. Within 3 months of signing up I can honestly say I have got control of my life and moving forward to a better and brighter future. The first improvement I noticed was almost immediate and I was thrilled! I started sleeping better!
When I started Dahn Yoga I was not sleeping well, was having problems with my balance and was very fatigued. Like I said, I started sleeping better almost immediately. I haven't fallen down in months which, let me tell you, is awesome! I feel better overall and my body is definitely in a better condition.
Besides the physical improvements I am also better able to handle stress and I am generally calmer overall.

Dahn Yoga is a Korean-based blend of Yoga, Tai-Chi, and energy and chakra work.

I first experienced Hatha Yoga in Singpoare with an Indian instructor. From then on, for me, Yoga was not genuine unless I (for lack of a better description) have trouble understanding my instructor. When I found Dahn Yoga in Las Vegas and later moved and transferred to Glendale, Arizona, I knew I found home.

The classes always go over the traditional 60 minute Yoga class, and often with warmups will approach or exceed 90 minutes. I feel I get such a great value for my membership at Dahn Yoga, as I can pick any of the 11 classes they offer per week, plus private healing sessions and additional workshops, both at the Glendale facility and in the parent Sedona meditation retreat.

This is a place of great healing for me, as the instructors are always very caring and sensitive to my needs. I am never forced to do a stretch or exercise that is uncomfortable or painful. I love my spiritual journey with Dahn Yoga added to it, and I invite anyone looking for "more than just" Yoga to give Dahn Yoga a try. Travis and Master Yewon at the Glendale facility are always very welcoming.

I started doing Dahn Yoga a little over a year and a half ago, since then I have seen an improvement in my flexibility, my stress level has went way down, and the shortness of breath that I use to get if I overexerted myself has greatly improved. I look forward to coming to class because I know that I will leave feeling refresh and having this sense of peacefulness. I have been a happy member of Dahn Yoga now for 4 months. I have done other yoga classes but none compare to this experience. It is a total body and mind exercise with professional, caring, knowledgeable masters. It has helped me be more flexible and be able to focus on my core which has provided more relaxation than I have never felt before. The classes are warm, friendly, and unintimidating. At the end of class, we sit in a circle and share our feelings of the exercise while sipping our special brew of tea. I have committed to the studio for 2 years and hope to improve in mind and body. There are numerous seminars to attend to fully understand the Dahn Yoga teachings, which I plan on attending to take advantage of the full fealings. I give a 10+ to Masters M Sooah and Travis. I highly recommend Dahn Yoga to everyone! I have been a member for over 3 years now. If I could, I would go to class every day. I try to go on regular basis, and always feel better when I am able to do so. The instructors are fabulous and patient, yet definitely give you a good workout. However, they also work with you and your physical abilities and gradually over time, you will find improvement in your balance, and flexibility. There is a definite mind/body connection and I always feel so relaxed when I leave. Be sure to give this a try!

I've only been going to Dahn Yoga for a month, but I love it! As other reviewers have mentioned, the instructors are caring and intuitive. They try to learn as much as they can about each student's health in order to provide the best experience possible. I did hatha yoga for ten years, and what I love about Dahn yoga is that it's so holistic. It's very interested in the mind, as well as the body. I first stumbled into Dahn Yoga through a Groupon deal almost exactly 2 years ago. It took me a while to finally enter the place, since I had never practiced yoga before. I had recently been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and found that the yoga, deep stretching, and meditation was actually helping alleviate my symptoms of RA. I have full motion in my shoulders now and I have not had any flare ups for a year now. My next goal is to get off my harsh RA medication, and I believe I can do that through the Dahn Yoga practice. The instructors are caring and are intuitive enough to come up with a personal plan for each one who comes into the center. Dahn Yoga Glendale is definitely a welcoming and healing place for all walks of life and whatever ails you. I definitely recommend it to anyone who needs healing, whether it be physical, emotional, spiritual, or intellectual.

I started Dahn Yoga a few months ago. I was use to pushing my body physically and feeling exhausted after a workout. The very first session confused me because it was not a brutal physical workout but my body felt stronger. I continued to experience this with each class. I learned how to really pay attention to my physical body and my life energy. I noticed I was more clear mentally, relaxed physically, and had more energy over all. Joining Dahn Yoga I thought I was adopting a healthy exercise routine, what I found was that I was adopting a healthy lifestyle and a journey of self exploration. I came to Dahn Yoga after spending over 28 years in a high stress management position. I carried most of my stress in my neck and shoulders. I suffered from headaches and awoke many times throughout the night, which left me extremely tired the next day. I was tense, anxious and just plain "worn out". What a difference I have experienced since beginning Dahn Yoga in January 2007. Quite simply, I love the classes, love the instructors and cherish the friendships I have made. I found out about Dahn Yoga after attending a Health/Fitness Fair. I have been experiencing some tension, stiffness & discomfort in my shoulder area. Having an exercise regimen at home already, mine did not include the wonderful breathing and stretching that is offered at this center. In addition, I have been introduced to the incredibly captivating area of working with and feeling ones own energy field. I have been a Dahn Yoga member for almost 7 years. It has been a life-changing experience for me. The instructors are excellent and always seem to know just what you need. I have received so much from my experiences at the Glendale center. I manage stress so much better than I used to and the health of my body has improved dramatically. I sleep so much better on the days I attend class. I've learned to take control of my life and find ways to connect with and help others.
Master Yewon and Master Travis are great instructors. Master Yewon's classes are challenging, unique, fun, and I always feel rejuvenated afterwards. Whenever I have some issue with my body or just have some problem I've been carrying around for the day, it just seems to disappear by the end of class. Master Travis packs a lot of energy and hard work into every class and we definitely reap the benefits. You know that both really care about your progress and are there for you.
I highly recommend Dahn Yoga for anyone, all ages, to help rejuvenate their body, mind and spirit. I plan to continue attending the Glendale center for a very long time.
