I usually try to give the benefit of the doubt when it comes to youth programs, but after our experience with California All-Stars, I feel compelled to speak up. My daughter joined with high hopes, excited to grow as an athlete and teammate. Unfortunately, what she experienced instead was borderline bullying from her peers, a toxic environment enabled—and at times encouraged—by the coaching staff.

The coaching team was not only unhelpful and disorganized but also unkind. They showed little concern for the emotional well-being of the athletes and were consistently dismissive when issues were brought up. Worst of all, there were several instances that suggested clear prejudice from both coaches and teammates toward my daughter because of her asian heritage. Subtle comments, exclusion from group activities, and overall cold behavior made it clear that she was being treated differently—and unfairly.

We approached the staff to express concerns more than once, and each time, we were met with indifference or defensiveness. There was no attempt to mediate the situation, let alone create a more inclusive or supportive environment.

No child should have to feel singled out or mistreated in a place that is supposed to be about teamwork, encouragement, and growth. I hope this review serves as a warning to other families who are considering this program and encourages the organization to reflect on how it treats its athletes—especially those from diverse backgrounds.

We’ve had an amazing experience with The California All Stars! In just one year, my daughter has grown tremendously—not only in her cheer skills but in her confidence, discipline, and teamwork. The coaches are exactly what you hope for: tough when they need to be, but always kind and encouraging. They push the athletes to be their best while creating a positive, supportive environment. We couldn’t be happier with the progress we’ve seen and are so thankful to be part of this incredible program! Wish we would have joined the gym sooner! 💙🖤

The Absolute Best Competitive Allstar Cheerleading Program In Arizona! My daughter has attended other gyms, and this program has not only pushed her from a mediocre level 2 to a solid level 5 athlete but also has ignited a passion for the sport fostered through FAITH, and absolute love from coaches! If you want a program that will push your athlete to the next level, who breeds Champions this is the place to be!

The staff attitudes need to be adjusted. You don't put down kids, teams, or coaches from other clubs. Poor sportsmanship is not the way to teach. We left here because of that.

My daughter has cheered here for the past year and I couldn’t be happier. The coaches are tough but kind, their desire for excellence is apparent, and their expertise is unmatched. Highly recommend.

This is not the Cali, we signed up for. Complete waste of talent, resources and parent's time. I doubt they keep their affiliation with Tannaz long. Horrendous and embarrassing lack of respect on all fronts. Keep your athlete far away!!

One of the best decisions I made, was allowing my daughter to cheer at this gym. She grew so much emotionally, physically and socially. It’s hard work and a major time commitment, but oh so worth it!!

Beware! Though you make think WOW it is nice to have your child part of a team experience. The owner/manager does not have the best intentions for anyone's child they will string you along in attempts to gain your money. False hopes and shattered dreams is expected, then to get personal with you and downplay your child's ability and not take their coaching abilities into consideration (coming from a person who doesn't have any). I would like to give no stars but it isn't an option. However if you pamper the coaches with gifts you are more likely to succeed with them. I wish those young ladies that train hard the best and really hope they do not have to experience the condemning behavior from the owner/manager at this location.

I only wish they had 100 stars to rate CA Allstars; they most certainly deserve it!
My daughter is on ‘Special Forces’ - CA AllStars ‘cheerabilities’ (special needs) team.
Not only is the CA AllStars’ other teams helping our special needs team financially, but ALL of the other teams and their coaches - including the CA AllStars teams across California and Nevada - have given our kids emotional and social support as well. My daughter has been welcomed and treated like a ‘rock star’ by the typical kids and their coaches as well!
Special Forces’ is based in Arizona, and is CA AllStars’ first special needs team (so far). Hopefully the program will expand.
Everyone has far exceeded all of my expectations!
If you know of someone with special needs around the Phoenix metro area who may be interested in participating, CA AllStars is the gym that you want to be at! Your child will be welcomed by peers, parents, coaches and typical kids from all the other teams. You won’t be disappointed!
