We are going into our 4th season with CFAZ.
My daughter was 10 when she started competitive cheer. Prior to that, she tried dance and gymnastics. I could tell she was bored, and she was not progressing.
I had a friend whose girls had just finished their first year at CFAZ and she suggested I have my daughter go to some "level up" clinics and try out for a prep team. From the first day my daughter went to one clinic- she was HOOKED! She got into my car and I asked, "so how was it?" She replied,"I LOVED it!" She said she learned more in that one clinic session than she had all year in the other classes we had her enrolled in.
We never did end up doing that prep team, as she was placed on an elite travel team from the get go and we haven't looked back since. From that point on, she has progressed year over year. Started on a L1 youth and will be competing on a L5 Sr Coed this season.
For any newbies thinking about getting their kiddo involved in this sport-- like many other travel sports...your schedule will live and die by the schedule, it takes about a year of really settling in and figuring things out- But the growth you will see in your kids is unlimited.
For veterens who are thinking about coming over to CFAZ. We have friends now who have athletes at the other D1 programs in the valley and even the D2. The general consensus is that most D1 programs have a similar level of expectation when it comes to commitment.
3 years in...here are all the positives that we have experienced that I think sets CFAZ apart from the pack.
- The size
CFAZ is large enough to be competitive and pull in talented athletes and coaches-- but small enough where you can develop a 1:1 relationship with the owner and coaching staff. They will get to know your family and your athlete. This leads to proper placement, progression and just a better experience for your athlete to be seen as an individual and feel valued, rather than a number.
- Scheduling
CFAZ typically does choreo late Aug/Sept which means we get to actually enjoy summer as family time. We get so little time off during the school year and especially during comp season. I love that summer (while the teams still practice) is not as intense and you won't get penalized for missing a day or two.
Also, this could change- but we seem to travel less frequently for out of state comps, which saves time and money
- Family and community focused culture
Some of my daughter's best friends were made through cheer and I can say the same for my husband and I. CFAZ cheers for each other's teams at each comp and this fosters a sense of unity amongst the families and athletes at the gym. There are numerous team bondings that are scheduled early in the season so the girls get to know each other on and off the mat. The older teams started doing some community projects like running a toy drive for PCH. It allows them to give back, but also gives the younger kids at the gym positive role models to look up to.
- Recognition for special moments
This one sometimes I feel like is extra-- but I do appreciate the fun surprises they do for the "little things" like theme reveal, uniform reveal, summit bid reveals, ect. This is a hard sport and these kids are often left to face disappointment and challenges, so I love that the small things are celebrated in addition to the big things.
All in all, the world of competitive cheer is not for the faint of heart. Raising an All Star cheer athlete can be tough. There will be highs and lows. There will be some drama (EVERY gym has this), but I can personally say- the physical gains are evident- but the real value is in the intangibles. Cheer teaches the importance of team, discipline, navigating disappointments, humbly celebrating your successes, and most of all developing the mental toughness that every young child/adolescent needs to become a successful adult.

My daughter did 2 years of travel cheer at another gym. The last year, she was questioning cheer. Which was horrible to see because she is so talented and loves cheer. Long story short, it was a toxic gym.
Fast forward to Cheerforce. Trying out, to signing day was a blast! It was like a breath of fresh air. They make the girls feel so special and excited for their cheer adventure. You get sized, take pictures, meet coaches, meet teammates. It's a blast! It's like a pro signing day.
With this year coming to an end. I wish it could keep going. We are also already looking forward to next year. My daughter has grown tremendously! She has progressed so so much. Her cheer passion has come back! She is more confident in herself. This has been an amazing year. I love seeing my daughter have fun and passion for cheer once again.
DeeDee has been an amazing owner. She comes to each competition and you can see she is passionate about cheerforce and each team.
Marissa and Jermaine are phenomenal coaches! They bring the energy every practice and competition. They do an outstanding job preparing the girl's. They make it fun and exciting. The communication and preparation has been second to none. At the same time they get down to business and grind. They know how to push the team. They made changes to the routine after the first competition. They give us extra practices to perfect the routine. They put in the extra time and effort. I could go on and on. It's a commitment for sure! 100% worth every penny and memory.
I highly highly recommend Cheerforce. It's a very well put together organization. Communication is amazing, the coaches are amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better gym.

Cheerforce is a phenomenal gym - my daughter is 16 and she has grown leaps and bounds! She respects the coaches, and the coaches respect her and have for 3 seasons/years now - we are just starting our 4th season here! The coaches know what they are doing and I let them do their job! And I can't argue, this gym is winning at comps, and really moving up to the top quickly - and we love being on the ride up with them. This is more like a family than a gym. My daughter and I have made lifelong friends here, and I am so thankful for my "cheer family". After the seasons are
over, there are a few weeks where we all just miss each other like crazy and we can't wait for the kids to get back in the gym! I highly recommend this gym, and I thank them for the kindness AND hard work that they have shown my daughter since day 1!

My daughter was severely mistreated by this organization. She was bullied by her coach on multiple occasions, a type of bullying that far exceeds regular "coaching" behavior. in addition, she was repeatedly mocked and ridiculed in front of her group which includes children from her school. I attempted to discuss this with management and they simply ignored me. In addition, the program is extremely disorganized and poorly run, parents never know what to expect and communication is poor on every level. Finally, most classes are unavailable and children are waitlisted for months. There are many wonderful cheer organizations in the Valley, this is not one of them and your money is not well spent here.

We love cheerforce. Itβs the best cheer academy in Arizona. Dee Dee is wonderful and you couldnβt ask for a better place to take your little one to learn discipline and great life skills while learning a back handspring!

Absolutely love this gym!! All of the coaches and staff are professional, kind, and experienced. My 9 year old daughter looks forward to open gym every Friday and her tumbling practices every week. She truly enjoys every minute at Cheerforce and is so excited for the 2023-2024 cheer season. We are grateful and feel incredibly blessed to be a part of this wonderful gym. It has easily become our second home over the past couple of years. Highly recommend!!

This was our first season with CheerForce Arizona and it was fabulous experience. Cheer was one of our daughter's dream and after extremely positive experience at CheerForce our other daughter decided to join as well. They have thrived so much socially and physically since joining the program. Dee Dee the gym's owner really knows the cheer world in and out and is so amazing with the kids. Every single coach is experienced, dedicated, and inspiring! Extra skill development programs are real bonus. My kids and I are looking forward to another great year. CheerForce is by far the best Cheer Gym in the area!

The 21-22 season was a great season, already signed up for the next one! The coaches are absolutely amazing. We had a perfect season, zero drama, great communication by very friendly staff, always there for your question! The athletes really support each other, they started the season as teammates and now they are friends! My daughter is making so much progress year after year.Private or Tumbling classes, Flyer classes, stretch classes and jumps classes are available to your athletes! They always offer camps, clinics or fun stuff for the athletes! They prepare your kid for sure all parts of cheerleading not just tumbling or flying! I love the ethic, the communication and the great atmosphere!

The kid loves to train there, I had a struggle to establish communication with trainers to receive an information on time. It was resolved after 1.5 month of me trying every week.

I was reading through the reviews and very surprised at some of the negative comments, so I'm just going to write these post off as angry parents not getting their way. For all reading this review, every gym has their set of "angry parents" that try to stir up trouble.
Here is the CheerForce my daughter and I are experiencing.
Mid-season for 20-21, the gym we were at had a lot of upsets, coaches leaving (yes mid-season), etc...
My daughter lost the only coach she wanted to take privates with...so what do we do, right.
I contacted Dee Dee at CheerForce and started asking questions. She was fairly quick to respond and after a few text messages we talked on the phone. We were looking to get my daughter some private tumbling sessions, understandable, private sessions go to gym athletes first, but Dee Dee said we could do it on the weekends...AWESOME.
After a few months of tumbling with Coach Kyle (great coach), my daughter started improving again. She was tumbling at a 4-5 level and was making no progress at her gym last year during the 2 years we were there.
Fast forward past the horrible 20-21 season with COVID.
As cheer families, we all know that tryouts basically occur at the same time for all of the gyms. So of course we had conflicts with time. Dee Dee was gracious enough to let my daughter arrive 30 minutes late to the first day of Worlds tryouts. Who does that? I was greatly impressed at this point, with Dee Dee, Kyle and the gym in general.
When I dropped off my daughter, I had intended to leave, but started talking to the owners. What a nice group of people, very friendly.
Now we are starting the 21-22 season. LOVE THE GYM AND STAFF.
My daughters tumbling has never been better .
She comes home daily a little sore but has a huge smile on her face.
Dee Dee has a class act gym. We have friends with cheer athletes around the valley and the are amazed at what CF offers.
If you want your athlete to progress and hopefully have the same experience that my daughter is having, I would definitely give CF a look.

It sounds like some people were asked to make generic bad post here, I would disregard these as they are vague in every aspect.
We have had nothing put a great experience at CheerForce. We came from another gym, that during COVID had many downturns, which do not need to be discussed.
Dee Dee and her staff are nothing but professional and very responsive.
My daughters main coaching contacts have been Coach Kyle and Dee Dee. She absolutely loves them. There is always positive support and encouragement.
I love the fact that when she gets home from CF (either classes or practice) she is a bit sore and tired. She was lacking that at her last gym, where she came home in a bad mood and unmotivated.
We have had nothing but excellent encounters and communication with the gym. Keep up the great work Dee Dee.
As far as tumbling goes, at our last gym, my daughter had basically stalled in her ability (Level 4-5) for about 2 years. The coaching staff was just not able to coach her in the way she needed (Yes every athlete is different), now she is excelling in her tumbling and I have not seen it any better or cleaner, great job Coach Kyle.
The athletes are welcoming and push each other to do better. Love that as well.
My daughter has been with CF since mid-20\21 season for private tumbling coaching. So glad we found CF as this was the only gym she was interested in to represent in the 21-22 season.
As far a facilities go, love it. The gym is bright, wide open and in great condition.
If your athlete is like my daughter and thrives when she is pushed, I would highly recommend taking the time to check out CheerForce.

I scheduled my daughter for 2 private lessons. The first one they told me they had to cancel or reschedule, so I canceled it 3 days prior. The other private training I canceled as well, and I NEVER got a refund for either one that I paid for in advance. They also do not like to talk on the phone, they prefer to text or email. I do not recommend Cheer Force

My daughter started with DSE and had moved thru the different programs now on elite travel. 2020 was a rough year for everyone and between Covid and the change of ownership CF AZ had its bumps along the way. However, you can tell the core of the gym is kind, supportive and the ownership has learned a lot of lessons in the past year. This season is already off to a better start. The coaches want the best for the athletes. Most importantly the gym is safe, clean and a positive group of athletes. We look forward to the direction the gym is going and has been in all a positive experience for my daughter which is what it is all about.

I cannot say enough about this gym and how they helped my daughter find her passion. She started a few years ago with tumbling and quickly decided she wanted to be a cheerleader. We dove in head first this last year and are now all in. The change in management from Desert Storm to Cheerforce was seamless and the coaches are amazing. My daughter loves going to the gym, which makes my mom heart happy. Itβs always a blessing when your children find something they love with people they love and truly enjoy it. The whole community is amazing from the cheer leaders, to coaches, to cheer parents. A big shout out to coach Tiffanie, Coach Sierra, and Coach Eric. Thank you all for making me a cheer mom, and helping my daughter find her passion.

I love this gym. Both of my daughters loved it before and after change of ownership. I donβt micromanage what the coaches do and assume they know how to do their job better than anything I can tell them. My daughter is there almost 4 nights a week and happy.

The new owners do not know how to run a good cheer gym. The coaches are mean, and the owner will not respond to your emails and will get mad when you do ask a question. There is a serious lack of communication and ethics here. There are plenty of other great cheer gyms in the valley to choose from.
