Could be a nice gym. Too small, machines are either broken or occupied, steam/sauna rooms are gross at best, and its always full of early 20 somethings that are more concerned with the mirror than getting through a set. I got pulled into a year contract, so thankful it is over this month. If you like Chuze, go to the location on Oracle near the Tucson Mall, its bigger, cleaner, and has better clientele.

I have been a member of this south side club for over 2 years and for most of the time I have been happy with the staff and the amenities. I notice that about a year ago the club has been getting insane busy. The facility is supper small for the amount of people that goes to work out. you have to make time during lunch hr if you want to work out and not stand in line with other 20 people. and let's not talk about the machines that are getting damage and warned out for months without fixing or replacing. The evening classes are always full and the most frustrating about the classes is people in the inside of classes sitting down on the chairs or on the ground just hanging around. how is that fair for the rest of us that want to be in the class?!. Now let's go to the "BIG Hight Ligh of the club". the sauna and steam room. is completely a dump, the smell is discussing to the point that you not even want to go in there for healthy concerns. I see the employees cleaning the sauna and steam room but come on Chuze! they are not professional cleaning crew. don't be cheap and hire someone to clean it. It gets so much use that at least cleaning has to happen every day!. I have been in all the clubs in Tucson, and this one is a shame to our south side community. I hope that Chuze do something about these issues. I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks this way.

It’s really small in here, a lot of the machines are broken,I wouldn’t recommend there are so many other gyms with better amenities, cleanliness and their machines all work. Really disappointed as I just moved to this side of town and hoped to find a nice gym like VASA.

I have been with this gym for over 2 years... now I'm having seizures not able to work or work out . I asked them if there was a way that I could do payments on my bill. They sent a law office after me instead... I just got off the phone with a guy. Who said hes from the law office? That collects the debt from them on a Saturday. But there's no managers to speak to on the weekend at chuze. Go ahead and take me to court guys. Just woooow

Today was my first day at this location, which is closer to my home. The music is blaring and the music is awful! It was blaring even in the women's locker rooms! I've been coming to the Chuze on grant and craycroft and it feels so much better, you can hear music, but not crazy loud.

Ajo and 16th location used to be the cleanest and biggest Chuze in Tucson. Then oracle location relocated to a bigger facility. The NE location open a bigger facility and Ajo remained the same. Recently remodeled the cinema room into a leg dedicated room. New squat racks new hip thrusters machine. Although it’s a great addition to the Ajo and 16th location it is still too small for the demographic. I pay for the top membership with all amenities child care, etc. unfortunately I have to drive 30 to 45 mins to the other locations on oracle or on grant because Ajo and 16th do not offer childcare. There are many people on the south side of Tucson with this membership but like me have to drive out of there way to fir the amenity of childcare. There are many requests for a bigger facility with the availability of amenities that other locations offer. There are also many buildings ready to be rented or bought for a bigger facility on the south side of Tucson. A bigger facility wi also help with the overly crowded gym at rush hour times. It will also help with parking. Having to park at the bowling alley next door or chase bank. I’m writing this review also as request for for a bigger facility that has childcare that I pay for. A new bigger gym for the south side of Tucson!

I normally attend early mornings and I love all the classes that are offered with great instructors. I am also enjoying the new Lab with top of the line equipment. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, they are always willing to help. The staff are always cleaning, which gives me peace of mind. I love my gym!❤️

I have had issues with the friendliness of gym staff members in the past at other locations. This is definitely the best staff they have had in a minute! Whether it is the curly haired girl with glasses with an enthusiastic warm greeting every time I see her, or the extremely polite gentlemen cleaning and assisting costumers. I have never felt so welcomed in a gym environment.

Outstanding Management at Chuze Fitness (Ajo & 16th)

Javi, the manager at Chuze Fitness on Ajo and 16th, is truly exceptional. Every time I’m at the gym, he’s actively doing something—cleaning machines, wiping down equipment, helping members, or handling calls. I’d recommend attending during the mornings - middays. Staff are super friendly, and equipment stays clean. However, two things to improved on. Space: too small, not enough room to workout (recently the theater room was made into a lift lab room but in order to get in you need to upgrade to the highest membership). I think the room needed to be used as extra space to workout-stretch, etc. And lastly, one of the monitor TVs are constantly showing music videos with sexual content. I seen young kids working out with their parents while being exposed to this content. I, as an adult, find it quite disturbing as well.

I work out in the evenings. This gym frequently has overflowing trash cans with empty wipe stations. When there are wipes most people still do not wipe down the machines. People sit on work out equipment on their phones surfing TikTok more than they do reps. Doesn't matter if people are waiting to use the equipment. There is zero gym etiquette, and employees are not walking around enforcing any of the rules or emptying trash cans. Just disappointed overall. I will be investing in a home gym before long, so it's a win for the company who will sell me gym equipment.

Always overcrowded. Dead lift platforms are facing the entire gym, particularly the people benching, so you have to stare at each other. It's very awkward. There's no paper towels in the bathroom. So good luck if you need to wipe off sweat. Very hard to get equipment. Either you go in the morning/noon or you're screwed.

It's just so small and cramped. Not enough cable areas. The regulars just think they can hog 3 machines/ areas at once going back and forth using them or just talking to others not acknowledging other people want to use the equipment. Just always so busy for how small it is. Staff hardly recognize you are there.

Nice place to workout. I’ll come to this one when I don’t feel like using the pool. I honestly like the newer ones better, with the pool/spa and smoothie bar. I am choosing to go to Tucson Mall more, even though it’s 15 min further away from me. The newer ones feel more fun and nicer to go to and are a lot bigger. Ajo gets pretty crowded, because it’s small and in a really populated area. I hope they build another big Chuze with a pool, spa, and smoothie bar on the South/West side of town. I think it would do well!

Do the sauna and steam room close early on Sundays? It’s 5 PM on Sunday and the sauna was already closed. This is the second time this happens, there is only a mop bucket blocking the entrance, no out of order sign either. If your not into what I would call Rap music , and at times very loud and annoying, think about bringing your own music.
The shower stalls on the men's side are generally clean could could be better..
There are 3 sinks but generally between 1 and 2 are always down for repairs..this has gone on for years..
Generally there hasn't been anyone really on the floor to follow up with the companies rules for using the equipment. Signs are posted but inforcement sometimes is lacking..
The other Chuze locations have features that this location will unfortunately probably never obtain.. very friendly front desk employees

People do not know how to use the machines they just sit there on there phone instead of working out I just want to go work out get out not wait 20 minutes to use a machine because someone is sitting scrolling on their phone. And the circuit machine no one follows the rules. It’s beyond annoying.

There is plenty of equipment in a very large area. The place is always clean. They open early and close late. The temperature in the gym is perfect for a work out. The staff members are always warm and pleasant. The sauna, steam room, and restroom facilities are clean. The steam room and sauna are a great way to relax after a good work out. The hydro massage is a good enough reason to have a membership even if you don't exercise. The water fountains give cold water most of the time. It's a great place to get fit. I can do what I need to do and have a great time doing it.

Chuze at Ajo is an amazing place. I used to rate it 4 stars because it doesn't have enough space and equipment for the amount of people that come to it. They need more cable machines and areas for trx, pull ups, and free weights.

However recently it's 3 stars because lots of things break and it takes them months to fix it (water fountains, bathroom sinks, and sometimes even machines).

Outside of that, the gym is great. The equipment variety is designed for all levels of fitness. The atmosphere is what makes it amazing. They have a wide range of people - people losing weight, young people wanting to improve health, older folks that are scary strong, older folks that are starting their fitness journey, athletes, and friends having fun. They don't have a whole lot of ego driven folks who are on their phones more than lifting and not a whole lot of folks that constantly ego lift. Most everyone is friendly and considerate.

Place is clean and bathrooms are kept up. Staff is friendly and helpful. They enforce most rules and etiquette but not in a way that makes it inflexible.

If you are an athlete that has a specific routine due to your strength and conditioning needs, make sure you come at less busy time. Otherwise, you need an alternative work out if you are pressed for time.

I pay around $30 for steam room and sauna. It's 11pm and they shut the steam room off. I asked them to turn it on and they said it was a system error. I asked them to fix it and the guy went into a room and came out said it should start “working soon”. Pretty sure he finished turning it off. It never came back on. Every single time I come to this gym somthingbis wrong with the steam room or sauna! I'm really sick of it.

I’ve been coming to the gym over two years. The majority of the stuff is friendly, but we beware of the manager! He is power hungry and will happily exercise his power to bully people. I came in today for my routine workout, and he said that I was parked in correctly, and he demanded for me to adjust my vehicle. I kindly told him that there was nothing wrong with my parking, but he insisted, at which point I asked my wife for the car keys so that I can move it since he was being a unreasonable. At that time, he said that I needed to go home for the day, and that he will not allow me to work out. I move the car came back in and he said that he was going to revoke my membership and for me to leave the premises or he was going to call the police. He escalated the situation unless in 30 seconds I look like usually poor mood. My friends and fellow gym goers were shocked what he was doing. I told him I wanted to speak to his superior into corporate indicated that he was the manager, and there was no one else I could speak to. He then asked me to leave after calling the police. Beside that the Lockers typically smell, a lot of the equipment is worn and broken, and I’ve never been able to use the steamer. Watch out, and keep out
