I moved back to Milwaukee WI from Scottsdale AZ back in 2019. Between 2011-2019, I’ve been coming to this place periodically and I miss it. There is one special guy named JONATHON with brown hair who was a pro at pumping me up. I have to stop by if I return town for a visit.

Great gym for the price! Plenty and variety of machines and great, friendly owner who offered a tour. Nice interconnected community and separate room with plenty of available equipment. It’s not too busy if you know when to come! Amazing experience even for teens!

I recently visited Scottsdale and was looking for a gym to continue my work outs, particularly running. (Which wasn’t going to happen in 100+ degree heat for this Midwestern lady!). I was super impressed with the staff and facility in general. A daily guest pass was very reasonably priced. There were several cardio machines, free weights, and machines, in addition to I’m sure many other things I didn’t even utilize. Thank you so much for being so welcoming! I would go back in a heartbeat when I visit again.

It used to be a boxing gym, but the trophys are all gone, the bell doesn't ring, and the bags have all been relegated to a side room. They no longer offer boxing classes either. Instead, they offer yoga, barre and pilates. Why not just put a sign on the door woman only.

I love this place! I take the fitness classes, specifically Kickboxing with Michelle. She is amazing and very motivating. Also, rowing class with J. is awesome. The equipment is high-quality and there’s plenty of sanitizer and cleaning supplies to keep everything sanitized. Going to Club‘s or has helped me reach my fitness goals.

I first trained at SAR in 1999. Over the last 20 years the gym has remained the same & it’s been fairly well maintained. Last week thy took away the speed bags. Very poor management decision. They took away the bags because the gym has turned into the geriatric olympics & the old lady’s that have no business in a boxing gym complained about the noise.
Very sad , very poor management

Nice place to train. Not the biggest place for weightlifting but they had pretty much everything you needed to get a workout in. The gym has a lot of boxing equipment so if you're looking to practice boxing or kickboxing this is a good gym for this. The price is good as well.

Haven been taking kickboxing and rowing there for a while. People are super nice; there's a woman coach there, about 40 or so, blonde hair and tanned. She is THE COOLEST coach from my experience ever. Then again, none of the others are bad from what I've seen.

Also good just to go do your own cardio, weights, and basketball (yes they have a court). Prices aren't bad either; probably 1/4 what LA fitness charged my friend for the same thing.

Club SAR has a wide range of classes in the afternoon which are available to all members for the ridiculously low rate of $99 / year (as of 2016-09). Equipment that I've used and seen looks decent (freestanding kickboxing bags, weight balls, floor mats, etc.) It's also walking distance for me so it s no-brainer.

Note: sometimes there isn't parking available in the lot when afternoon/evening classes are held. This is especially true between classes when one class has recently stopped and another is beginning.

Very cheap no frills gym, just the way it should be. They recently upgraded all the weight plates so they're no longer rusty ancient iron disks, but now they have handles so that's a plus. Everyone is friendly. Most nights have some pretty competitive basketball games going on. I used to do the boxing classes regularly and got in the best shape of my life doing so. Love this place, would definitely tell my friends to sign up if they were looking for a gym in Scottsdale

The price is FANTASTIC. That I will not deny. This is a no frills gym with old equipment. I found the appeal of this gym was the yoga classes. However in July they went from 13 classes to 3. This is no longer a good value for me. Any holiday the classes are cancelled all week or several days before.

I am not renewing my membership.
