The upgrades are money well spent. There are still a few minor issues like some of the handlebars cushions need to be replaced and there are never any sanitizing wipes when I workout. I'm hoping classes will be added and the rock wall will open next. There are 2 additional rooms in the back that can be utilized as well.

Great gym, amazing staff, people say the gym is small but it really isn't and it has all the equipment you need to gain muscle and get fit , it's small but it's perfect, size don't matterπͺ

It's getting better but only because of the activism of the members of the HOA pushing back against those whom declare to represent us. Currently, depending on who is working the front will determine the kind of experience you're able to enjoy at the pool. Most of the time they leave gym users alone. However, the pool is open season with varying degrees of 'karen' like behaviors from a small majority.

I've NEVER been so disrespected before in my entire life! Went to the pool on 4/23 between 12- 2:30pm. The staff was so disrespectful. I've never been so discriminated before. My 2 year old daughter was playing with toys in the swimming pool when the staff lady rudly comes over and tells us that NO toys were allowed in the pool. My poor daughter was so heart broken that she couldn't play with any toys in the water but yet the other little kids at the pool continued to play with all their toys but my daughter couldn't. I felt that the staff 2 younger guys at the counter that initially got worked up with us in regards to us being new residents and not having a key pass yet took the opportunity to discriminate/ single out our family. If you have rules regarding toys I totally understand. However to not clarify these rules and be completely rude to our family and not saying anything else to any other family there was beyond disrespectful. We moved here over a month ago with a new build. We paid for a full month of HOA and got nothing out of it because no one has given us a key pass. We called HOA and they told us that we could go to the pool regarding our situation and the staff would kindly help us. They were not kind. They were rude. The singled out our family. They raised their voice at my family prior to leaving. I told them that I would love to discuss our visit with their boss and they wouldn't give me their names..probably because they know that they were wrong with handling the situation. I've been in customer service jobs before. I have came across many situations of upset customers you don't handle it that way. These people need some serious training or they need to be replaced.

Great home town neighborhood gym. Everything you need. Including a heated pool/lap pool, jacuzzi, locker rooms, studios, full gym with treadmills, rower and ellipticals, stair climber, and even a rock wall. The HOA offices are also located here. Must be residents to use the facilities.

Two stars because the gym and changing rooms are nice..
Other than that itβs really not a great ymca. There is a young man employed who is rude to the kids at the pool, told my daughter she couldnβt wear a t-shirt over her bathing suit in the pool. He also told my kids they couldnβt throw a frisbee to each other (they are small and about only 6ft from each other.) they have a bin of pool toys but yell at the kids if they grab any of them. Pool is super small given that it supports one of the largest communities in San tan valley, and is only 3ft deep except the lap area which is about 4ft deep. Canβt use that area unless you are doing laps, even if itβs emptyβ¦

I work overseas for the government. Due to recent significant events, I was required to travel without much notice. With that in mind, I contacted establishments where I had a membership based on my ability to use the facility, including this YMCA. They informed me that the only way to cancel my membership, was to appear in person and fill out a cancellation form. After finally returning, I made my way to the Y and filled out the form. Due to my inability to use the facility, and my geographic location which prevented me from cancelling in person, I asked if I could recover any of the many months of membership that I was charged for. They stated that neither my government job, nor my ability to cancel in person, affects their decision to cancel or refund. Not really mad or anything, just expected to be at least treated fairly if my job took me out of the country, to a pretty bad place for a few months. Oh well.

If I could put less I would. Very unhappy there and they could care less. They wonβt allow me to cancel over the phone, but yet for over a year of not coming here... they wonβt refund a penny. Not even the months I been in hospitals, through two rough surgeries and awful recovery , etc. Manager sucks and their actual gym wasnβt even great. Donβt have much and short hours. They could care less about you, just want money and thatβs it.

My family and I have been longtime members of Ymca not only here but elsewhere. My son has grown to the point that Ymca is just a part of our lives. The Ymca was in part why we moved to copper basin. I should have checked it out first.
Not impressed with staff, first of all my wife requested a trainer call her to set up training. (The trainer was the one that told her to leave her name with reception for trainer to call) that was six months ago and to this date no return call even after reminders to reception.
As of today my son asked me to take him swimming of course as the weather is getting warmer. I did not even have a chance to get in water before rude lifeguard started yelling at my 9 year old son to get out of pool without life jacket on. ( now my son is a very good swimmer) that he must take swimming test or wear life jacket. Ok fine, my son did the test received green wrist band. We could not help but notice that there was little boy in pool without wristband and no life jacket, when I asked about this to lifeguard on duty she replied that she knew the adult with her and it was alright. Well Ymca is suppose to be fair and same rules apply to all when it comes to policy of Ymca. It is clear at this Ymca they definitely play favorites.
We couldnβt be anymore disappointed in the quality of staff employed at copper basin Ymca.
Just wish we would have checked it out prior to moving there.

The price for the location and services is good. The people are friendly, and if you're into classes, they offer them. If you live down in Copper Basin, they are super convenient. And their size and amenities are much better than any other gym I know of within 15 minutes drive.

It's a great place to exercise. Staff is great and they have decent equipment and the place is maintained. Just wish the hours were a little later since that's what I am use to. Also, it may just be a local thing bit fitness centers around here are a little more expensive than what I am use to. It's 42 a month for a single person and that's not bad. Especially for somewhere that has a pool and hot tub in the area. It's just i am use to paying around 20 - 25 bucks in California and those would be open until 11pm or later. Still, highly recommend.

The hours are weak, especially for accessing the pool in summer on weekends. Childcare isn't available during all open hours either making it challenging for people who work and pay to use the facility who have children and no other childcare options. The pool policies are a bit excessive as well.

Lifeguards don't keep the kids out of the laps lanes when people are trying to swim laps. To dangerous to swim laps when kids are in and out of them. Collisions are inevitable. Not happy with my recent visit.

We joined this YMCA as a family fitness opportunity. However, the first time we used the children's' fitness class, my daughter was punched twice by the same child so hard she is bruised. The teacher, who appeared to be about 15 or 16, seemed to not care. The supervisor on duty said she would report it to the director and then sent me over to director's voice mail. My son heard children using the f word in the same class. Beware, your children are AT RISK here.

Terrible customer service. If the hours are posted to 9pm and I'm there 10 minutes early to ask about membership and you lock the doors in my face as I'm trying to come in and just look at me and turn around and go about your business you don't deserve my business. Ever.
