If I could give zero stars, I would.
I would strongly advise against doing business with Dance Deluxe. Our experience has been nothing but unprofessional, unethical, unorganized and frustrating. They have been deceitful about fees, restricting access to our payment records, and refusing to provide a clear breakdown of charges.

Despite their claim that we owed costume fees, I reviewed my payment records (before they suspiciously revoked my access to the parent portal) and confirmed that all costume fees had already been paid. When we challenged them on this, instead of addressing our concerns, they shut down communication and made it unnecessarily difficult—seemingly because we decided to discontinue dance.

Additionally, they are refusing to refund summer recital costume fees, yet won’t provide any information on when we can pick them up. If the recital fees won’t be refunded either, they should at least refund the remaining balance on our account. But instead of handling this professionally, they simply refuse to engage.

Beyond the financial issues, there is a lot of favoritism at this studio. Certain dancers and families are clearly prioritized, while others are treated unfairly. When concerns are brought up, the staff is always extremely defensive instead of being open to feedback or resolution.

Another major issue is their staffing. Instead of hiring experienced instructors, they rely on their older teenage dancers to teach classes. While some of these teens may be talented dancers, they are not trained teachers. I often found that if I wasn’t sitting outside the room, the young instructors wouldn’t effectively manage the class or keep students engaged. It’s completely unprofessional to expect parents to monitor the instructors just to ensure they do their jobs.

On top of that, the instructors are rude, unprofessional, and even make fun of students instead of creating a supportive learning environment. Rather than being encouraging, they act dismissively and unkindly toward certain dancers. No child should feel uncomfortable or belittled at a place that is supposed to foster growth and confidence.

The facility itself is also disgusting. Its like they never clean or sanitize the dance rooms or dressing rooms, and the whole place smells like urine and feet. For a place where kids are constantly moving, stretching, and sitting on the floors, basic hygiene should be a priority—but clearly, it isn’t.

A professional business should be willing to justify its charges, provide qualified instructors, and treat all customers with respect—even if they choose to leave. Instead, Dance Deluxe operates in a way that feels dishonest and retaliatory.

If you’re considering this studio, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere to avoid the same headaches we’ve experienced.

Also, be aware that they actively remove negative Google reviews to hide the truth about their business. For that reason I will also be posting this on Yelp, where they can't manipulate the reviews.

I waited to post a review until we've been going at least a year. Not because they weren't all wonderful from the beginning, because they were, but I wanted to be able to have enough history to actually write something helpful.

I really like this studio a lot! I tried others, and they weren't as friendly, didn't seem to care about me but especially my children. This studio bothered to learn not only the name of my child who is in dance, but my other children as well. They're constantly made to feel important and special by all the staff, simply by being noticed and greeting them using their names.

On top of it all, they're very skilled teachers. My daughter has improved so much in just a year. I am very proud of all that she has accomplished through this studio. But I am even more happy with how happy she is. She asks me is she can live there sometimes (with our whole family of course haha). She's 4.

To sum this up. We love Dance Deluxe, and I think you will too!

My daughter has been dancing here since she was 2.5 and she’s now 4. As you can imagine that’s a rough age to teach. Alexis has always gone above and beyond to make the experience for the kids magical! She’s also probably the most patient person I’ve ever met. My daughter begs to come here even on her days off. She also has classes with Ariel who is such an amazing teacher. And acro with Austin. Which most dance studios don’t offer acro, you have to find a gymnastic place outside of dance to learn tricks. This is a one stop shop which is very convenient for me! I always recommend this studio to anyone who’s looking for a great place to learn, grow as a dancer and really have fun! I can’t say enough about Dance Deluxe so I’ll get started we have been going to Dance Deluxe for three seasons recreation/ glitter girls/ and Pre company our first Daughter is 6 and now we have our 2 yr Toddler in the 2’s class This place has become our Second home and we love everyone we have met here and consider them all Family. The owners are the Nicest people I have ever met and all of The teachers are top notch watching the two year old class is always painful and there’s at least one child always crying but Ms. Kelsey/Melissa/paisley are all so patient and great with these little ones while still maintaining the learning atmosphere mine my little one is a fireball that never slows down and cry’s a lot but they are always understanding and do great at lifting these little girls spirits. Miss Alexis, Miss Ariel, and Mr. Austin have been the best instructors and role models for my little girls. And Miss Brynn and miss Kelsey are just an Amazing addition to the squad when we started here it was just a thing to do to keep our energetic girl involved and happy and we had know idea it would turn into me becoming a full blown “Dance Dad” spending over 15 hours a week and loving every minute. I don’t know what we would do without this place. All these girls/boys grow so much and they Win and win a lot! And there is nothing greater than to see your child on stage and beaming with excitement. They only let me choose five stars but they deserve 10/10

IMPORTANT
There is malicious harassment of this business from a family that is purposely trying to lower the studio online ratings to hurt the business out of spite for getting kicked out. If you want realistic reviews read only the ones which the studio doesn't point out that the fake accounts of kids who've never attended (often of people from other states) or go to Groupon since its more controlled because you have to actually pay to leave a review. One of the perpetrators actually admits he's been leaving multiple negative reviews that Google no longer allows him to submit anymore so he uses an alternate account.

The 5 stars I give are well deserved. My daughter has attended DD for the last year and I have been thoroughly impressed by her growth as a dancer and kid. She has learned valuable lessons such as being more confident, integrity to team commitments, and working hard towards goals, like getting her splits. The staff has been exceptional! I remember being impressed with Linda from my very first phone call. She answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly and emailed me to follow up. She remembered me and my daughter's name the day of our trial lesson and she lent Kira some ballet slippers. The staff is both professional and kind. You can tell they all love what they do! I believe this excellence in management fosters the environment the parents have here. There are no judgmental moms and prima donna dancers. The moms all support each other making usually stressful events such as competitions run smooth. It is such a pleasure to have my child in a safe environment for her esteem and that still trains to a high caliber skillfully. I have now attempted to leave a review on google multiple times and for whatever reason it won't show up. Do yourself a favor go to yelp and read those reviews for a more accurate information, for whatever reason I had to significantly trim my review down to get it to show and use my secondary account.

This studio has very shady practices, from offering a chance at free tuition for providing reviews, to lying about the age of my child at competitions. They sent cease and desist letters to multiple customers including us for simply reviewing them and posting about our personal experience on our own Facebook pages. (I provided picture proof in my yelp review) They have given new customers old solos, recycling dances year after year. yelling and belittling children, telling them they have ugly smiles. Just do yourself a favor and find a different studio this place is not worth it, and again I strongly suggest looking at yelp where the studio has less control over the reviews being posted.

We have been looking for a dance studio to enroll our daughter. We did the free trial to see if this studio and my daughter would be a good fit. I’m glad it was a free trial because I would NEVER pay money to this studio for how horrible and disrespectful the teacher is. The instructor was the owner of the studio (Alexis?) in my opinion if you are the owner you should have better business ethics and treat people with respect. She had an attitude and would roll her eyes when another little girl was crying. She kept telling me to just leave my daughter when she would cry and that it would be okay since I could just watch from outside. She made it appear as though the crying annoyed her. Now I know why she insists we parents wait outside and watch from outside the glass… so that she can tell and belittle the other little girls. How is this place still in business? Please the the time and read all the reviews. As most of the “good” reviews appear to be from friends or family of the owners and do your research. There is so many other dance studios that are much nicer than this one.

This is our 4th year at Dance Deluxe and with three girls on three different teams, it’s quickly become our second home! So much so that when one kid has dance that day, the other ones want to be there just to hang out! We’ve referred several families here that have also found a love for the DD family!

My girls absolutely love their teachers! They take the time to get to know each one of them and their strengths/weaknesses and work diligently to help them grow. They treat them respectfully, while giving them opportunities and pushing them to their fullest potential. Not only have my girls made friendships, both my husband and I have made friends that we now consider some of our closest! Additionally, the close-knit family feel makes my children feel safe when I am not there. There are cameras throughout the studio in public spaces (hallways, the coed and open locker room), while also giving children privacy without cameras in the restrooms and private dressing rooms.

While I’ve read some of the recent reviews, I would urge anyone interested in Dance Deluxe to come try them out for yourselves. It’s easy for anyone to post a review that isn’t a true representation of a business, rather it’s inaccurate information OR reviews made by someone that hasn’t even attended the studio. We’ve loved our time here and look forward to what’s to come! :)

I wanted to look into taking my child here. It seemed good at first, once I started reading these reviews. NEVER would I let my child come to this place, you should be ashamed of yourselves recording children in locker rooms. I called several times up here to arrange a meeting for a tour, and was met with nothing but harassing remarks from employees. At that the one time I did go in I was snapped at by someone who I later found out was family to the owners. It’s a room where they all hang out, eat and store their stuff and that’s it. There are PRIVATE changing areas and private bathrooms. My girls have been dancing here for the last 5 years and we love it! All the teachers have their own strengths and really connect with their students. Dance deluxe is a family run business so there is a family feel at the studio which I love. Last season we were there 6 days a week and my girls never once complained, they always looked forward to going to the studio. Their best friends are from the studio and they’ve all grown up together over the years. I also love the big windows in each classroom that allow parents to watch their kids and see what’s going on.

The training the kids receive here is top notch, which shows during competition season when they rack up wins. I always have parents from other studios come up to us during a competition and comment on how crazy good the kids looked on stage and they can’t believe how young they are.

In regards to some of the negative reviews, just remember there’s always 2 sides to every story ;)

So awful to see this false negative reviews when it’s the complete opposite! Dance Deluxe is the best studio in AZ! You will not be disappointed when you sign your child up for dance lessons! They even offer a trial just to see how the classes are ran. They have nothing to hide. They are dedicated and very family oriented! The pricing is fair as any dance studio can be pricey. **EDIT: Unfortunately, in a short two year time frame our feelings for the studio and the entire staff has changed dramatically. After the studio expanded, toxic people, partners with the studio staff and director quickly led to a decline in service.
The first thing we noticed was that a lot of the songs and dances were reused. Not only beginner level recreational holiday dances but top level solo, and group dances too. We saw the same dances multiple years in a row. We became more concerned with their teaching style which consists of very little hands-on teaching or visual execution of the skill. It mostly consists of pitting children against each other and negative reamformance. As my children grew, it became more apparent they did not know how to properly train children older than ten years old. At times even saying "at ten kids turn into brats and they're hard to train". I've seen the staff pick on and even berate children in class for non-dance related issues in front of their classmates.
Often I would overhear the front desk staff and specific parents participating in talking poorly about families. Not only about the children's parents but also the children themselves. There was obvious favoritism in the dances and the way they treated children and parents. I've seen the staff change kids' earned placement in dances due to disagreements with their parents. The immature behavior created a disconnect between the staff and parents as well as a division among parents and kids. The front desk staff encouraged the division by warning parents to stay away from other parents. As well as threatening parents, that they are on the wrong side and they should "be careful".
The staff condones physical violence from parents allowing them to act like bodyguards while sitting in the front office area. I've seen a parent physically pin another parent to the counter with their body, while yelling awful and inappropriate things during business hours. The staff did nothing about it and quickly made fun of the parent who got bullied.
We are beyond sadden by how quickly things decline and truly heartbroken by the lack of concerns for all the children's wellbeing. You can clearly see recently the studio has asked parents to combat the bad reviews, by the flood of new reviews in a matter of hours. Just as they did a few years back, when I wrote my first reviews. Mind you these are the same parents who have helped to create the toxic and unhealthy environment.If you're looking for a real "Dance Mom" experience; backstabbing,catty moms, toxic teachers and mediocre technique training, then this place might be a great fit!! However, if you're looking for top notch training, an inclusive environment and raising positive and productive children this is not the place. **

I have a son and daughter attended classes there last season! We loved it!! The teacher are awesome with the kids. They a friendly and firm. They are great at setting expectations, working hard and encouraging them during practice and then celebrating in the student's success when they accomplish their goals. The entire staff is super friendly and they all get to know you on a first name basis. We can't wait until next season!!

My daughter started at Dance Deluxe a year ago after being at a different studio for over 5 years and we are so happy we made the switch! We have since enrolled my younger daughter as well. It is a family owned business and all the owners work incredibly hard to provide a safe, encouraging and supportive environment. I have also seen so much improvement in my daughter's skill level in the last year, thanks to their great and attentive training.
The studio has viewing windows so parents can watch if they would like, I appreciate this so much as it really made me more comfortable to know what is going on during classes, especially when we were new to the studio.
Over our first few months at the studio the owners made it a point to check in with me to make sure that my dancer was happy, felt welcomed and was being treated nicely. I appreciated this so much as it shows they do care about the well being of each dancer.
The studio is very organized and has been great with communication. I always knew what was expected of us and when, as far as costs, competition schedules and other important information needed.
My daughters have been very happy since we joined this studio and it has been nothing but a positive experience.
Definitely glad we made the decision to join the Dance Deluxe family!

Costs were not clearly outlined at beginning when we enrolled our daughter. On top of the very high monthly costs, we ended up paying an additional 500 + dollars for costumes amd other acceasories amd those costs were never explained to us. Very poor communication from office staff. It almost seemed like they didnt want to talk to us at all. "Just drop off your kid and pay what we tell you to pay" That doesnt work for me. Especially when all the extra fees keep adding up. Monthly tuituon goes up also over a hundred bucks. Yikes. No thanks. On the positive side, classes werw ok, nothing super spectacular, but not bad either. Better communication of costs up front could be very helpful. However it seems that the office manager appears to havesome kind of social interaction issues. When my Wife asked a question about when the next recital was she told my Wife "You're scaring me. Thats just uncalled for and not a good way to retain business. Important to note that if they are closed for breaks you pay anyways, the full monthly tuition.

Other reviewers have mentioned the friendly staff and the incredibly involved family that owns and runs the studio. They find excellent teachers for the dancers and they have created a really, really good environment.

One of the things we love best is how the kids are treated. The owner and all of the teachers are always supportive to the kids and do such a great job at encouraging and helping each child to do their best.

The dance rooms at the studio all have a large window to the hallway where there is seating for the parents to watch their dancers, and the dancers can see the parents watching. This seemingly minor detail really helps the parents to stay involved and supportive, and it illustrates the transparent, open, and loving atmosphere that Dance Deluxe nurtures among their talented staff and students.

My daughter has been dancing since the age of 3 at another studio. We just completed our first year at Dance Deluxe. Let me tell you the amount of training she’s received and the quality of training in the past year has surpassed the three years she was previously dancing. All thanks to Dance Deluxe!

The training and costumes are always amazing. The techniques/performance demonstrated by the dancers is phenomenal. Dance Deluxe is a studio that is highly respected. You should absolutely check it out if you're looking for next level training for your dancer!

My daughter has been dancing at this studio since it opened, and she has been dancing with the owner since she was 2! I have seen so much growth in her, not only as a dancer, but as a person too. I have never been disappointed with my daughters dance instruction and I have always enjoyed watching the teachers teach. They truly love what they do and that’s so important. I have two girls and one boy attending Dance Deluxe. They love every minute. The teachers are enthusiastic, caring, joyful, attentive and knowledgeable. Its always pleasurable to deal with any person at the studio, whether for a bill, or a sign up or because someone forgot their shoes. I especially loved the recital. It was exactly the right balance of performance/ rehearsal/ pride/ choreography / costumes, without the crazy cost, rules, and inappropriate dancing that I have seen elsewhere.
