I went here on vacation with my sisters while traveling from out of state. My massage began 15 minutes late and she stopped after 45 minutes. I paid for a 60 minute massage and got a 45 minute. After contacting the spa director this was the response I got.
"I am very disappointed to hear of your less than stellar experience with us. I am out of town until Tuesday, and so to not cause a delay in responding to you efficiently, my Spa Supervisor, Debbie Stanford, will research this tomorrow morning and call you. Again, I do apologize for your negative experience, and we hope you will give us a future opportunity to provide the wonderful experience we strive to provide."
Yet she never called me. It's been a long time this didn't occur last month. So avoid this place. They overcharge and don't give you the full 60 minute massage.

Iβve been training with Kamal Hibbler for the past two months, and I can confidently say he is one of the best personal trainers Iβve ever had. He brings outstanding focus to every session and carefully designs my training program so that no two sessions are ever the same. His thoughtful observations on my posture and immediate corrections have helped me train safely and effectively.
Kamal also takes the time after each workout to help relax and recover my muscles, which makes a huge difference. I truly appreciate his flexibility in accommodating my schedule, it shows how much he cares about his clientsβ success and well-being.
Highly recommend Kamal to anyone looking for an awesome, professional, and genuinely thoughtful trainer!

I joined DC Ranch Village Health Club & Spa two months ago, and overall, it has been a highly positive experience. Hereβs a breakdown of my thoughts:
π Facilities & Cleanliness:
The club is beautifully maintained with a resort-like feel. The gym is clean, well-organized, and equipped with state-of-the-art machines. Locker rooms are spotless and stocked with everything you need β from fresh towels to toiletries.
ποΈββοΈ Equipment & Amenities:
Thereβs a wide range of cardio and strength-training equipment, and I never have trouble finding a machine, even during peak hours. The variety of amenities, including the pool, tennis courts, and spa, really sets it apart from other gyms.
π§ββοΈ Classes & Programs:
Group fitness classes are a standout feature. From yoga and Pilates to high-intensity bootcamps and spin classes, the instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, and accommodating for all levels.
π₯ Staff & Community:
The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always available to help. Thereβs a real sense of community here β people are respectful, and the environment is inclusive and supportive.
π Areas for Improvement:
While the club is top-tier, a few minor things could be improved:
β’ Parking can get a bit crowded at peak hours.
β’ Some classes fill up quickly, so itβs best to book in advance.
Overall, I have had a great experience and will continue going to The Village for years to come.

The childcare at this location is subpar. Iβve taken my baby to the Camelback and Gainey locations, where the staff are more experienced and attentive; my baby has never cried upon pickup there. At this location, however, the staff were mostly teenagers who called me, panicked, just thirty minutes after drop-off because my baby was screaming inconsolably, something Iβve never experienced elsewhere. Despite the nice facility, Iβm hesitant to return to this location.

I am a long time member of Village. Quality facilities with great effort to maintain cleanliness. Only negative aspects are a fairly cramped free weights area and a failure of management to enforce rules on mobile phone calls and texting while sitting at weightlifting stations.

I am a past member of the health club and continually use Spa services as a non-member. The front desk Spa staff is always very helpful, and I schedule massage services with Larissa who is OUTSTANDING. She does well to listen to my needs and consistently provide high quality (best-ever) massage services. The value is excellent to me because of the consistent high quality experience. As a past member of the health club, the facility, equipment, classes, and staff were very good. My needs took me in a different direction which is why I am not currently a member but I would not hesitate to rejoin in the future.

I have been a member at the Village for years now. I really love the club and the spa too. I am a regular to both. Great classes especially Susan, Tammy and Jamie's spin/cycle class at 5:30AM- to be able to get up early and drive almost 30 minutes isn't easy but they inspire me. Hot yoga with Lauren, Dani and Elena is great as well. The team at the spa are terrific whether it be nails, hair, waxing...I love all of the employees from the front desk check in to those providing the services. I can't forget the boutique- I always find something there to purchase.

Gym is decent, if you're looking for a workout I'd elect to go somewhere like Lifetime or another gym. When you go to cancel your membership, it is similar to a low-level gym with fine print. 30 day notice, 31 days later you get another "final" billing. Have to go through your credit card to dispute, real hassle.
Unless you need a tennis court go elsewhere.

The population of members are ones we like being associated with and to call our friends, and the social opportunities the Club provides are similar to country club. No matter where we tap into the Club, every employee is service minded and caring -- it starts with the General Manager, followed by great hiring and training -- they make us feel happy to belong. The facility is next class with all the latest and best equipment, and capital improvements seem to be constant, and dozens of group classes are offered every week.

"I had a disappointing experience at the DC Ranch Village basketball gym. One of the fitness trainers made a comment that basketball is for guys of a certain size, implying that I wasn't physically suited to play. This was not only offensive but also absurd, given my extensive background in basketball - I played varsity and college ball, and was even a state champion! To add insult to injury, I'm 6'1" and 190 pounds, hardly an undersized player. The trainer's comment was not only discouraging but also made no sense, especially after witnessing my skills on the court. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this gym anytime soon. Disappointing experience and poor attitude from staff."

Generally disappointed with this club. I am a member of lifetime and I saw the villages and thought I would walk in and see about getting a guest pass. Apparently their membership services closes after five which I find odd for gym thatβs open till nine.
I guess I have high expectations coming from lifetime however, with what they charge those services should be open
The staff is OK. They didnβt seem to help me because I came in at 730. Also, the tour itself it reminded me of an old outdated hotel resort gym.
The locker rooms itself look like a 50 style spa with yellow tile on the wall
When youβre paying for a gym membership service should be top-notch amenity should be open including member services and you should have remodeled spaces
Lifetime is so much nicer

Good club (I use DC Ranch Club). Great facilities, well maintained, clean. Staff is friendly and competent. I mainly use the lap pool and that is well maintained and clean as well. The club and pool never seem overly crowded in my experience. They also have tennis and golf programs (but I think there is an extra cost).
Only downsides is that it is pricey - which tends to keep the cliental more upscale. Also, the club charges extra monthly amount if you want to have access to multiple locations which is inconvenient for me. Other clubs usually do not do this. There are times I am in specific part of town and it would be more convenient to use another location but you are not allowed to do this. I hope they change this policy as I think it is not good. But overall the club has a more spa / country club feel and it is worth the monthly cost to me. I make heavy use of the facilities. It is a very good club - best I have seen.

Great club! It is a full experience, and you want you can spend a whole day in there. Massive gym with all types of equipment, a large variety of high quality fitness and mindfulness classes, spa, restaurant, working space and outdoor pools. The classes are taught by experienced instructors who really know what they are doing. They also offer hourly daycare which is a big plus for parents. The space is really like a village where people come to workout, take care of themselves, socialize and be a part of community. Great facilities, with everything you need (like hair dryer, towels, shampoos, free coffee etc) and great service! The cost of course reflects of that, but it is worth it when you think how much is included in monthly membership. So if you are committed to such lifestyle, it is totally worth every penny. The only con is the opening fee but again, it is worth at the end

Pros: They try hard to keep the facility clean and up to date, yoga is on point.

Took off one star because the showers in the locker room didn't have super hot water and not as clean as I would expect. Continually disappointed by DC Ranch Village. Today the disappointment is with the spa. I scheduled an appointment at 2 for a haircut for my teen two weeks ago. When I arrived they said 'sorry the stylist is not here today, we tried to reach you.' That's interesting because I never recieved a call or voicemail from them. Oh well, there are a lot of other places to get a haircut. This poor quality of customer service is why I don't belong to this gym, even though my husband and daughter do. It's good there are other quality options in the North Scottsdale area.

Very slow right now. Staff has masks, most exercisers do not. They opened the wet side with self regulation of less than 4 people in the stem room and jacuzzi, 3 in the sauna. I thought it was funny there were signs to tell patrons not to spray the disinfectant on their bodies, but to use it in the locker surfaces. There are cards you flip over from clean to dirty when you use the equipment and the staff cleans it quickly.

I have been a Village member for 20 years some comments to share with you who are reading this.
I came in this morning 6:30 am and I was surprised that the basketball courts were being refinished. Apparently this was needed hadnβt been done in 10 years I was told. There was a lot of dust in the air that contained who knows what. The noise was unacceptable. When I asked the GM to call me which he did he said nothing could be done. It was needed and the contractor would not work when Club was closed at night to the membership.
They told me that they sent out e-mails regarding this work. Never got one!! He said that I must have opted out. I did not. He said he did not want to waste paper by handing out notifications at the front desk, baloney!
Another issue was the app does not work properly and has not for a long long time. We are working on it he says.
It seems that although the club says βHealth Clubβ this is if no concern to this GM or his superiors do not care.
They really need to up their gameπ€π€π€

My friend and I attempted to this gym with her family who are all members. And one of the requirements to come in as a guest is to be 18 so my friends mom said to tell them i was 18, which was not that far off because I was turning 18 in less than a month. So when the man asked my age a said I was 18. Then after he saw that I wasnβt 18 for another few weeks he began yelling saying βyou lied, you cannot be here, get out right nowβ and more phrases filled with what stemmed to be anger. After this I kindly left while my friend and I were in tears. I understand that I should not have lied but I was disgusted to see the employees utter lack of character. For a gym that is so expensive I would never want to pay to be harassed.

We have been members at Gainey, Camelback and DC Ranch for several years. We have not experienced any issues with Gainey or Camelback; we are cancelling our family membership due to extremely poor member service at DC Ranch.
In the span of approximately 8 months, we have had unauthorized charges on our account, rude/inaccurate comments placed on our account and accusatory calls from the child care area, and more. When we inquired about the unauthorized charges on the account, it was fixed within a few weeks, but without any acknowledgement, no apology, nothing. Same thing with the issues from the Child Care area. No acknowledgement, no apology, nothing.
When we shared our frustration, again, there was no apology, no acknowledgement. At that point, we decided to cancel our membership. We did so on August 17 and have yet to receive any acknowledgement of our cancellation. Extremely unprofessional.
If you are looking to pay hundreds of dollars a month to be treated like just a number, this is the place!

We have been members since opening 12+ years ago. If you are looking for an economical gym, go elsewhere. This is a country club experience with EVERYTHING you could imagine in one stop. The professional trainers are top notch. Spa is great. providing mountain bikes and helmets ready to use is a neat touch. day care for Kids is well run and terribly convenient. I have some quibbles but not enough to reduce the rating (should open earlier on Saturdays, inconsistent quality and variety from cafΓ© but this has improved a great deal in the last year).

Best health club I've ever joined. It's actually more resort like than the typical vanilla health club. The facilities are awesome. There are over 100 classes weekly, the restaurant serves good food, the pools and surroundings ding are beautiful, the member events are fun. Plus check out the little clothing store for cute stuff at reasonable prices.

The Village at DC Ranch is one of the nicest gyms in the entire valley! The staff is always accommodating and always helpful! The Health Club and Spa never dissapoint, can't say I've gone to a Health Club and expected restaurant style service at their cafe, the cafe has never disappointed.

I was a member of the Village for about two years. The gym is nice but they do not cater to a professional working person at all. The latest evening class is 6 pm which unless you have job where you get off at exactly 5 pm it makes it really hard to get to any group exerciese class.
Then you find a class that you like and make an effort to get there at 6 pm only to find out that half the time it is a substitute instructor and the class is nothing like the format with the regular instructor --- Ballet Barre taught by someone with no experience so you do basic PE gym exercises for an hour!
The primary reason we joined was for the tennis. I played at Camelback for a while but the leagues are riduculous. Half the time your opponent never shows up and then the rating levels are non-exisistent. What would be a 2.5 in other cities is a 4.0. The tournaments were good for a while but then participation really dropped. Probably due to the poor planning -- mulitiple revisions to the draw, etc.
The tennis center at DC Ranch is a joke --- no players, well at least not in the evening, once again the lack of attention to working professionals. The tennis pros are not friendly and do not engage with the tennis players. Also the clinics are twice the price of those at the Camelback Club. When this is pointed out the response is that they are competitive and not too expensive. I don't know any one that wants to pay $30 for a drop-in clinic. If people actually went the tennis pro would be making a killing, I guess they are just greedy. I also went to one clinic and saw a couple, definitely not worth what they are charging but maybe my expectations are just high having been to several of the top tennis camps and resorts in the US and receive better instruction for a lower hourly rate!
The cafe at DC Ranch has also gone way downhill. They had a really good chef who left and since the food is really meh and adding on top is the bad service of the counterhelp.
If you don't work, this may be a good club for you but if you work a normal professional job (8 to 5) not a good club at all.
