Great place to learn Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)! Shantonay, the lady at the friend desk is friendly, answers all questions, and makes everything easy to understand! Coach Bobby gives a good workout during the kickboxing classes, has a good eye, corrects my technique to make sure everything is right, is nice, and fun! Professor Vini is wealth of knowledge at the beginner Brazilian Jui Jitsu (BJJ) class and is very friendly!

It's cool to learn MMA from credentialed veterans who know from experience having fought in the UFC and the other major MMA promotions: Bellator and PFL. There are also active UFC fighters training there. My first week I saw Kelvin Gastelum and Tracy Cortez. It's also home to the Triple Champion (C) two weight division UFC champion and Olympic gold medal wrestler Henry Cejudo!

My doctor said I needed to improve on my vitals, recommended I train MMA since I used to wrestle in high school and liked it. Fight Ready definitely gives me a good workout every time and is a lot more fun than walking or running on the treadmill! My wife also says my body has gotten in better shape since training there!

Such a welcoming gym. Truly a place that offers something for the entire family. Whether it be strength training with coach Q, kids self BJJ, or adult kickboxing. The best staff, the best coaching I’ve ever experienced in a gym

Fight Ready really stands out as one of the best gyms our family has tried. We’ve sampled MMA and BJJ studios across the Valley, and nothing compares. My son only gets a couple of months each year to train these days because of his travel hockey, but he looks forward to every session. We’re hoping his hockey schedule cooperates so we can stick around long past the summer.

Cleanliness & Facilities:
The overall cleanliness of the gym really stood out. You typically need to worry about the tumbleweed of dust and hair at a martial arts gym, but the staff seems to truly care about the cleanliness here.

Front Desk Crew:
The front desk team has been fantastic from day one. They welcome everyone with a smile, handle all of our questions about schedule and classes effortlessly and keep things running smoothly. Their upbeat support sets the tone for every visit.

Coach Bobby’s Youth Kickboxing:
Bobby’s kickboxing class strikes the perfect balance between challenge and fun. He encourages the kids to push their limits, celebrates their progress with high-fives, and maintains a positive, motivating atmosphere. He is also so loud and clear (in a positive and respectful way) with instruction, which is helpful to keep the attention of the kiddos.

Coach Jackson’s Kids BJJ:
Jackson’s BJJ sessions are so well organized it’s like clockwork. No chaos, no random sparring from day one, just smart, safety-first teaching of cool techniques. We’ve seen other gyms where kids get tossed in the deep end and walk away with bumps and bruises. Not here.

Coach Adam’s Kids MMA:
Adam’s all about the fundamentals, and he makes it feel more like playtime than a drill. He’s right there tweaking little details, keeping everyone moving, and cheering them on. You can practically see the “aha!” moments on their faces.

Expertise & Credentials:
The best part is that every coach is a master of their craft. They are professional fighters with impressive accolades, and they bring that real-world experience to training the next generation of athletes.

Coach Helpers & Student-to-Instructor Ratio:
Every class includes additional coach helpers, which keeps the student-to-instructor ratio low and makes a huge difference. You can tell the kids love all the coaches—they’re always trying to team up with their favorite coach groups. That level of engagement shows the staff is doing a great job keeping the kids focused and interested.

My 8 year old son is a part of the youth wrestling program at Fight Ready. I've seen a lot of coaches in youth sports and when you see a great one, you know it. Coach JJ Tenorio is one of the best I've seen. He's a pro MMA fighter whose technical skill is top notch and his ability to transfer that knowledge to kids is readily apparent. With Coach JJ, my son is learning to work hard, to build self-confidence, and to have fun doing it. I couldn't be more pleased with this program!

Having been involved in martial arts for 49 years, I can tell a fantastic training facility when I see it. The classes are energetic, they adapt to all levels of students, and I think what's really outstanding is that the instructors collectively push for excellence.

One of my favorite things over these many years is watching new students and their meteoric improvement with proper instruction. That happens continually here. Great place. Highly recommended.

I wish I had a better review to give this gym but the last six months have been a disappointment with this gym. I nanny a child locally here in Scottsdale and he had been coming to this gym for quite sometime and learning great takeaways from previous coaches that worked here. After coach Anthony left the gym, the heart for the childrens classes left along with it. There was no structure for the children and they were left with coaches who didn’t have prior experience with childrens classes and it became sloppy. The child I work for ended up breaking his arm due to one of the coaches at the gym and nobody in the gym believed the child was hurt, he was left screaming and crying and I was instructed to take him outside. After returning again from his injury, more coaches had left and the children were left to do whatever they chose during class. I feel as if he didn’t receive the proper treatment not only from coaches but from the gym and upon returning the family decided to remove him from the gym to take him elsewhere and even after of week of being back, we were stuck having to pay for another two months when I had expressed to multiple people in the gym how I felt the takeaway from the class was. If you’re looking for children mma classes, keep looking because they don’t have the same determination and drive with their kids as they do with adults who practice at this gym.

This gym is definitely one of the best of its kind. The coaches and staff are all incredibly friendly and the training you receive is top notch. At one point these coaches went out of their way to call me up after my membership had expired to let me know that I had not used all of the sessions I had paid for and wanted me to come in despite not having a membership anymore. How rare is that. The honesty is just one of many reasons that this place stands out. Very comfortable environment and a large open gym space makes it worth every penny. As someone who is super new to this type of training I could tell I started to improve and learn just after a few classes.

I agree with the other 1 star review. Don't ever give this place your credit card number, as they are not up front about the terms of the contract in the beginning. I agreed to a 6 month membership and even though I stopped going after 4 months, I was willing to pay the whole 6 months because I did sign a contract, after all. However, I hadn't checked my cc statements and discovered they continued to charge me for another 6 months after that. Apparently you are automatically signed up for an automatic renewal in the beginning and I won't get my money back. Now I'm out $600. I will never recommend this establishment to anyone and I only hope their shady business tactics put them out of business.

*update*
After going in to talk to Fight Ready's new owner, Jay, he agreed to give me back $400 of the $600. What happened occurred before Jay took over as the new owner, so kudos for doing the right thing. I was also featured on channel 3 for this story.

Fight Ready checks all the boxes. World class instructors, world class facility, managed by professionals who treat you with respect and kindness, and the facility is just off the 101 so its easy to get to. I joined after checking out a few other places for bjj. Couldn't be happier with my decision after taking the beginner bjj class with Coach Paris Stanford. Everything was broken down for a total noob like me to understand, and the instructors were watching and helping me adjust my technique. The classmates were friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to keep learning here.

I've also boxed before, so having an in-house striking program is a plus in case I want to take some of those classes. For days I want to focus on strength and conditioning, they have a program for that as well. Man, this place has everything you could want and there's a real friendly attitude throughout the gym.

Overall, great spot. Can't recommend highly enough.

‘Fight Ready MMA’ Review

The coaching staff at this place is absolutely next level.

I’m writing an online review (which I never do) from a plane, because I’m headed home from a business trip and can’t wait to get back in the gym. Fight Ready MMA is helping me change my life.

I came to this gym in September with a goal of getting “Fight Ready”. Out of shape and inactive for over a decade, I decided it was time to pursue a longtime dream of fighting some dude in a cage.

I asked these guys to teach me and coach me to be a cage fighter, and their work so far is paying off. I’m a work in progress, but “progress” is good (hoping to be ready for a January/ February fight). Regardless of that fight, and how well I perform, I reccomend Fight Ready to anyone. They have classes for ALL ages and experience levels, and have the expertise to coach up even the most talented fighters in Arizona. Google some of the coaches and fighters, you’ll see.

They are professional, compassionate, and tough as nails. They treat men, kids, and females with respect. Everyone in this gym works hard every time they are here, but they don’t take themselves too seriously. This is an honest place where you will become stronger and you will become humbled. I’ve lost nearly 25 lbs and significant body fat. I sleep better, I eat better, and I feel better. One day soon, I may even be a fighter.

I have a long way to go and my journey is different from yours, but whatever your goals, this gym can help to get you there. Thanks to all the coaches! I appreciate all you do.

After extensive research of other gyms in Scottsdale I found Fight Ready. I was training at another national "boxing" gym locally and found the classes to be uninspiring and impersonal. Fight Ready is in a class all by themselves IMO. If you're looking for a workout where you learn practical skills then Fight Ready is the gym for you. You won't find this kind of workout doing run of the mill boxing/kickboxing routines at the fitness gym.

I totally, 100%, disagree with a comment below about the staff. I've found every coach extremely nice, patient and knowledgeable, same for the members. I think that is an unfair comment given my experience over the last 7 months.

Dropped in for a quick workout this afternoon. I had no idea what I was in for. This place is not just a gym, but a real training community filled with serious athletes who travel from all over the valley to train here. Despite being new, both the staff and the other students here were all really friendly and I never felt like I was being left behind or lost in the class. I'l definitely be back.

Been a member for 1.5 years. The instructors are excellent and the facility is the nicest in the valley. Great build-out. 1st class BJJ.

Excellent. My kid 5yo, just started wrestling. Coach Adrian is amazing. Experienced, patient, great teacher, teaches each kid @ their individual level. I tried other wrestling clubs in the north valley, it was a couple dads trying to coach. It was terrible.
Highly recommend to try a free trial with coach Adrian. The gym is a real true UFC GYM. Top coaches & fighters. Facility is very cool, clean, & well kept. I was very impressed. They also have a number of other kids class available

I've never met a more professional group of people at a gym. My son goes there for wrestling and the wrestling is top notch so I decided to do a little bit of jujitsu and I am very new to it and they are very nice to me and break things down very well

There isn't one thing about the gym that I don't like! In a short amount of time I made a lot of progress which I whole heartedly attribute to the amazing coaching i recieve. Personally, Muay Thai has been the best fit for me along with my coach Russell Mckinney.

It's crystal clear that the new ownership knows what they're doing. My 15 year old wanted to learn MMA and potentially participate in the UFC. I searched many gyms and there are a lot that just have cardio classes disguised as boxing training. Fight Ready is the real deal. The coaches are professional fighters themselves. Not only are the coaches great at what they do, they are also great mentors and role models and help bring out the best in the student. I highly recommend this gym if you want to be a amateur or professional fighter or even if you want you child to learn the values of hard work and character.

Fight Ready gym is a great great facility no matter what you are looking for. I began taking my 8 year-old last summer as something to do after school. Over the last 9 months, I’ve watched his confidence and maturity grow in leaps and bounds - not just as an athlete, mind you, but more importantly, as a school student & individual.

He has participated in Muay Tai classes (with coaches Russell & Paris), Jiu-jitsu (with Heath & Thiago), and Wresting (with Frankie). The coaches are wonderful with the kids and great at instilling "No bullying" ethics, respect, and discipline. What's more, my son has begun to construct lasting bonds and forge strong friendships with other boys and girls who attend Fight Ready ... It would be an understatement to say that he enjoys going as often as he can.

Additionally, my son also plays club sports, and as every parent knows - things can get a little competitive on the field/court. With that said, I’ve watched his confidence spill over onto the field of play, leaving him observably more engaged, and never reluctant to get in on the action - even in the presence of bigger, stronger kids.

As for the adult classes, the Gym does a great job making sure there are plenty that coincide with the kids program. That way, you're making great use of your time, not stuck sitting in a chair watching for 2 hours.

At first, I simply started using the weight room, but I have since joined the adult muay tai, as well as the Juijitsu. And just like they do with the kids, the coaches do an incredible job pairing each student with appropriate partners (so you're matched with someone who possesses a similar skill set).

In short, Fight Ready gym is truly one-of-a-kind. The facility is spotless from the weight room to the mats & locker-room. Moreover, it should be said that I also have a membership at Lifetime fitness and there is simply no comparison. The locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms are absolutely immaculate. So, kudos to the new owners who took over around a year ago. They've done an outstanding job.

This place is awesome! We love the Muay Thai classes with coach Russell. Both his kids and adults classes are fun and a great workout! He has so many great techniques and a wealth of knowledge. This place is also clean! The bathrooms, sauna, and locker rooms are top notch. Other gyms we have gone to had gross bathrooms but Fight Ready pays attention to detail! We love it!

DON'T GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER --If you plan on quitting they continue to bill you and we can't get them to stop--my son went for one month and hasn't attended a class in 6 months and they're a STILL BILLING US!!!!!
IF must give your money to these unethical people please pay cash to protect yourself. It's awful a company-- there weren't enough kids to spar with and the coaches were always changing--seemed like management didn't have it together--- they claimed they were in transition because the main coaches stole all the kids and opened their own gym and almost all the kids followed--a few customers gave me the low down- --wish they would of explained all this to me before we signed up--so no credit cards, make sure there's enough kids to spar with and a constant coach who knows what they are doing --we didn't get any of this $600 later?????
