This gym was previously name Fitness 1. New ownership now under the name Evofit, my membership was still month to month for $15 a month and I hear now its $15-$30 a month which to me sounds outrageous and overpriced. This gym has had about 7 treadmills out of oder plus 4 open stride machines and 3 stairmasters out of order, yet to see any be fixed. Not to mention the equipment downstairs that feel rundown and become out of order. Only updates I've seen since new ownership is a blue and black paintjob and hit45 classes that only have about 2-5 people attending, which in my opinion take up the open area upstairs where people could be doing workouts or stretches. Staff is friendly, besides the trainer Joe wich acts like he can hold a machine/equipment while he's training someone across the gym.

With the recent change in ownership, no one knows what is going on. Why is the information given not consistent? I was recently told by a “manager” (curly hair, no ponytail) with my membership with the “partner gym” in Phoenix, I would be able to continue my membership here. Within the week, that information had changed, and I was no longer welcome at this location. That being said, there was no email, letter, or other communication sent to members to let them know they would no longer be welcome at this location.One would think some notification would go out to members as a common courtesy. Wow, not impressed. I looked up their prices and they are higher than LA Fitness and Mountainside; they shouldn’t be charging more than them, as the space is average at best. Not good.EOS is opening down the street with amazing facilities for $9.99 a month.

I have been a member of fitness 1 since forever , I have been out of town for a month and I go back today and its evofit, they tell me they dont do prepay anymore ....huh? May be better for them but NOT me. Absolutely ridiculous. I was 180 for 18 months now its 15- 35 a month .....? Huh , after going here for so long they just lost a customer with that bs. Update: so after telling them three times that I was not renewing my membership they have sent me to collections. These people change their hours, refuse me a refund when they switch to hours I can't work and send me to collections after my contract was up (I had paid one full year in advance with no obligation to renew). These people are scum bags. I highly recommend you not get involved with people who use such business practices.

To Owner: Nope, it was your location. I bought a year pass and after 6 months they changed it from 24/7 to closes at 10 or 11. Because of my work schedule that doesn't work for me, so I was unable to use the facilities. Then you refused me a refund because there was another one in Glendale. Oh yeah, because that's a convenient drive and why I paid for a full year. Then you had the audacity to send me to collections after I didn't renew my year membership with you! I had to get the better business bureau involved to stop that. Then you still have someone call me once a month to come join your gym even after explicitly have asked to be removed from your call list for months on end. Its probably the worst experience I've ever had with any business. As I said above, they were scum.

I’ve been a member for a long time, and I personally think this is an amazing place to workout. I never had a problem with any one here, the staff is very friendly and polite. If you ever need anything they’re always available. Especially Lily, she’s very educated and one thing she never stops doing is smiling. Chris is very Polite and ready to help you with anything. A lot people complain about damaged equipment but all gyms have their flaws. It doesn’t take them long to fix their equipment. Sometimes there are quite a bit of people but that’s normal, however I still get my workout without a problem. This location is always clean, staff members are really good at keeping it like that. What I really like about this place is the environment, it’s great to be around here. You honestly meet some great people and this place is addictive.

I called to ask a simple question and the guy “Chris” had a really bad attitude. When he first answered the phone he sounds depressed. I asked if they are hiring he said no then immediately hung up the phone. I’m sitting here telling him to have a great day and thank you and he’s being rude. He has no customer service skills and me and a few frigate been wanting to go check it out but now we definitely won’t be going. Also I know why he can act this way. The manager “Brian” is the exact same way. This whole place is ran by jerks.

Terrible gym for the price they charge. When it comes to canceling it’s a huge pain & they will continue to take money out of your account. They claim they lost both my friend & i’s paper work for the cancel confirmation, I brought them the extra copy I was given & they gave no refund then told me they would make sure they put it in this time. Same results for my friend. It happened twice before them actually cancelling my membership. Staff is terrible, weights are falling apart, cleanliness is at about 5/10. Sad excuse for a gym, never will I return.

Horrible!! Will never join or recommend this place. Chris just tried to bully us into joining. He told me on the phone we had a free pass but when we said we weren't sure yet If we wanted to join, he said we had to pay $10 a piece. Thinking that we had a free 7 day pass like they advertised on the website and he stated on the phone, we were in shock!! False advertising!! Wow. Chris took our ID and held it hostage while we worked out. Once we asked for it back and told him we hadn't made a decision, he said we owed him money. I didn't even bring my wallet because as far as I was told there was no need. Fitness is a lifestyle for us and we are trying out all the gyms in Surprise before we choose. All because we do not want to join unless we get a good vibe. We just moved here a week ago from out of state. We just cannot believe how he treated us and misrepresented the situation. If you go to their website the free pass is the first thing you see. Horrible place.

If you plan on joining this gym and never leaving then great. But if you try to cancel then it's a nightmare. They use a separate company to do their billing. I canceled several times. Was told it was done and nothing left to owe. But months later I get an email saying that I owe again. Both reps from the billing company and gym were very rude. I ended up paying another payment. They said it's done now but I won't be shocked if they come back months later and try and charge me again.

I recently started and feel as if I am in better shape already.  The trainers are super friendly, awesome, but always there to push and get the best.  I look forward to actually getting my butts kicked here!  All my workouts are short, however, harder than everything else I have done ever.  DEFINITELY give this gym a shot!

Good gym, competitive pricing compared to Planet fitness/EOS. It's a smaller gym but they have everything you need. The only gripe I have is that they don't open early enough on the weekends for me to go before work! Otherwise, it's all good. Affordable, but they run deals pretty often and you can save a bunch of money if you wait for one.

Usually always clean. Good set up and enough room to workout without someone walking into your equipment. Gets really busy between 5-8 and 4-7. Very disappointed with the customer service when I went to cancel my account. I was under the impression I was cancelling all members of my family as it was a joint account, but in fact I was only cancelling myself. I was charged the next month for the annual fee and membership. When I brought the error to their attention they refused to refund the charges and could not even tell me which employee had done the cancellation so they could be counseled to correct this issue in the future. Not only this but there is minimal workout equipment and no childcare. I recommend paying a bit more for a gym that offers more than the bare minimum.

We were new to the area, checking out gyms for my husband and stopped here. It reminded me of every reason I hate gyms and prefer to have my own equipment at home. A bunch of people flexing in the mirror and taking selfies. The staff member helping us had an attitude. He literally said "Well, where do you think you're gonna get a lower price than that?" I only gave it 2 stars because they no longer offer childcare or fitness classes ever since their location off the 303 and Greenway in Surprise closed down. As a result of the close the gym is always crowded. The gym itself is ok considering that membership is only $9.00. I pay $9/month and it's worth every dollar! But I wouldn't pay $9.01. Ever since the Greenway location closed it's been so busy there's hardly walking room. Many people lack gym etiquette and will just jump on a machine if you walk away to get water or something. One day every bench was filled with dudes sitting down texting on their cell phones. Some days, a lady hogs all the yoga mats(literally about 6-8) for some crazy workout. I have to bring my own jump rope from home, because they only have one and it's unusable. Like one of the staff's kids made it in 3rd grade and they decided to keep it. With all those people crammed in a place that doesn't offer classes or kids care, you can't dish out $20 for a decent jump rope???? There aren't enough bars to fit all the benches, the staff is indifferent, it just goes on and on. But it's close and $9 so I'll give them a bonus star.

Where to start. Signed my wife up with personal trainer, 2 months later my wife was pregnant and Dr recommended to stop lifting weights since it was a new endeavor for her. The gym refused to end the contract but said we could transfer it. Fine, I'll take over the sessions maybe I'll learn somethings new. Sessions were Fine, trainer was nice. At the end of our sessions he actually moved out of state it was perfect timing with my contract ending. He told me it was my last session and my last bill would be February 6th and I wouldn't have to worry about a thing (the same thing I was told by Kris, the guy who signed us up "6 month contract, it'll end in February and you won't have to do a thing"). Because I like to verify things I checked the next statement I received and I was no longer being billed. With the pregnancy and planning for the baby I never went back on my statements until a few days ago. Lo and behold I have been billed every month since the month they stopped billing me. I feel like skipping a month was a tactic so if someone checked the following month they would see they were no longer billed. I'm now dealing with a 3rd party billing company attempting to get this resolved and will update accordingly. But beware for any one who hands their card information over to fitness one, check your statements regularly. Don't become a victim of fradulant billing.

Too busy ever since they shut down their sister location, keep saying they are gonna open up a replacement but zero updates on loactation or timeline. This location doesn't even have enough Olympic bars for all the benches/squat racks.

I signed up for this gym, the end of march. The 3 main reasons i signed up for were for the classes, location and kids club. One month later, the location i was attending closed. They tell me i can cancel or attend 91st ave and union hills, but i was attending LA Fitness on 93rd ave. I didnt like going because it was far. So i switched gyms. Now im being told they will not be refunding me the 185 installment fee, plus last mos membership dues. So i paid over $200 for a 1 month gym membership. This is ridiculous. I asked that the owners contact me to resolve this issue. I gave the manager at the Litchfield location my contact information.

Omg...Decided to go and work out with my daughter as a guest. I will never go back! The place was disgusting. Each machine upstairs clearly hadn't been wiped down or dusted in months. It smelled like rotten food when I walked in. I normally never write reviews but felt this one was much needed. Be very careful of staph invections.
