I am VERY upset with 1440. Not only do they have monthly charges that work out to *higher* numbers than competitors with bigger and cleaner gyms, but it is LITERALLY almost always unstaffed. Even during staffed hours!! I went there today to talk to the front desk between 9-10 am (staffed hours on a staffed day according to google and their building) and i waited 30 minutes at least roaming around looking for an employee. CANCELLING!!! Oh wait, how do i cancel if theres no staff to help me and their phone line never answers EITHER?? Mind Blown.

Way too expensive, dirty, staffs are rude. I canceled my membership in July. I had paid for final but in October they still email me and said I still owe them money. I went to the club to ask but no one could help. They just said they didn’t know! So upset!

Great gym, super clean, and open 24 hours for members! Lots of machines to choose from and not overly crowded either. The staff is also extremely friendly! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a solid local gym to workout.

Creepy. Walked by it and was thinking of checking it out. Had to look from the parking lot to even see a gym sign. The doors had "golf performance center" plastered all over them, so it was hard to tell if it was the right place. It looked really small with not many people and not much equipment. Every time we tried to peer in, the guy at the desk stared at us. Just a weird vibe. We decided not to bother going in.

Would give a zero star if it was an option. Worthless “leadership” that doesn’t follow state guidelines. Will say that membership is canceled but continue to charge you month after month. Sends your information to third party collection company who is just as incompetent. Then despite a pandemic going on wants you to come in to cancel your membership a second time. Much better gyms in area, I would avoid this place at all costs.

DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! Right after they took over our favorite and amazing Desert Fitness gym, they've been hounding us every single day to update our billing information after we had cancelled our membership before they essentially became 1440. They kept trying to charge us for our membership we no longer had and have requested multiple times to stop calling us. We disputed multiple charges with our bank. We recently tried calling them back a few times to get them to stop and... of course, no one answers their phones. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SHARKS!

My husband and I joined this Gym back when it was still managed by Desert Fitness. We only joined because of the location. We cancelled our membership back in June and stopped getting charged. Somehow my husband started getting charged again in November. The charges were significantly higher than what we were paying so we were absolutely confused.

We visited the gym (which is now owned by Fitness 1440) and turns out "my husband's membership was never cancelled" . The manager said he would try to get a refund but we never heard back from him. I visited the gym a second time to get an update and it look a good 10 mins for someone to come to the front desk.

So here is my review of the gym that is now called Fitness 1440:
Horrible customer service
Same old limited number of machines
Same depressing front entrance
More expensive

I went here in March 18th as all the other gyms closed because of the government shutdown but they were still open and said they still planned on being open. I bought a one month membership because I didn't want to be without a gym. This gym is very run down, old, small, dated and not very clean looking. I figured it was better than nothing and since the gyms didn't know when they were going to open, I figured buying a month would let me figure things out. If the other gyms were still shutdown, then I'd buy another month. On March 20th they were forced to close by our governor. I spoke to the manager that morning and she assured me I would be refunded. However, she stated that it had to go to their billing company and THEY would have to refund me in 5-7 days? I didn't understand this since I didn't sign up for a membership, just paid for one month by my card. Just as if I bought a gym bag they had in there and returned it. Would it have to go back to the billing company? NO, just refund my card! Of course, they DID NOT refund me and no way to contact them! I decided to wait for them to open and GIVE THEM A CHANCE to refund me. Once they reopened TWO MONTHS LATER in May, I immediately went in and spoke to the SAME manager and she said she knows where it screwed up and she'll put in that refund immediately that day and it would still have to go to that billing company and would take that magical 5-7 days because she doesn't have the capability to refund there? Are you kidding me?! I said I'll hold her to that and I expect this refund! I didn't use the gym for that month because they closed right after I paid them! She said okay and if there's a problem, to come back. Of course, I WAS NEVER REFUNDED TO THIS DAY and it's July! She lied to my face twice! Why would I go back if she cannot refund there even though SHE CAN! I had disputed this with my bank. My friend was also screwed out of his month as he joined at the same time. If you're looking for a gym in this area, steer clear of this one!

Cancelled my membership back in August and have it in writing yet I’m still being charged monthly. The manager claims to have fixed the issue and doesn’t seem like he cares anymore, literally the day that I sent him an email about having to go to my bank and disputing the charge because he didn’t do anything, ANOTHER charge showed up. It’s been super annoying having to constantly dispute these charges and wait for the money to be refunded when it shouldn’t even be taken in the first place. I emailed the manager again about this new charge on November 15 and still haven’t heard anything.

My favorite gym in pheonix. Several great locations each it's own unique layout and workout options. Contract free and only 9.99 a month gets you access to all locations. They even host monthly giveaways and sometimes promotions that allow you to grab up deals further reducing the 9.99. Example I paid 99.99 for 12 months. That's 2 months free! The staff is always friendly and people here generally keep to themselves allowing you to do your thing thing! Enjoy!

Been a member a year a half and they take out random fees whenever they feel like and they don’t tell you and then overdraft your account and don’t care. I love mountainside they let all their members know when they did another charge and that they are upgrading their gym. They care not to surprise you with random fees. And they care. I got a membership because I like the place, and it was a good deal. They've got all the specific equipment I want to use, but unfortunately for me, a bunch of other people want to use it too- which is great for them! I've been going since late February, and every single time I go in, there seem to be even more people, which is unfortunate given the cozy size of the gym. Everyone- staff and fellow patrons- seem friendly and amicable, but I'm not the most social person in the world and prefer minimal company when trying to reign in my jiggly parts, y'know? So, yeah, I'm gonna keep showing up, just not as often as I'd otherwise prefer.

This gym is very poorly taken care of, I don’t think they ever clean the floors in the bathrooms,showers,basketball court. I saw blood on the floor for months, to top it off you’ll be lucky to find a locker that actually works. The sauna has been getting fixed for over 3 months. If you have no other options and are okay with settling for a low hygiene gym, this is your spot!!

Just started going here this year, choosing this location because of the convince to home. This is a great place. It is simple and straight forward, at least to me. I feel that in a year or two it could probably use some paint and freshening up though over all it's a nice gym. I paid cash and received 14 months for the price of 12.

This is a small, reasonably priced gym. It doesn't have all the amenities that a place like Lifetime or Planet Fitness has but if you want to get in a good workout using the usual gym machines at an affordable price, this is the place. There are three locations in the East Valley and you can use any of them with your membership. The North Gilbert location located at Cooper and Warner has a basketball court, several different classes, and a locker room with showers and a sauna. They also have a kid's area so you can bring the kids along.

Management only cares about money, when my mom (a recent heart attack patient), asked about an ongoing deal regarding training sessions and her trainer tried to get her the deal, the manager Nick denied it, she then went to the owner, and the owner ripped the manager a new one but as a result the manager fired her trainer for making him look bad.

That trainer understood her sensitive heart issues, and has been with her throughout her recovery journey. The manager firing him was uncalled for and completely unprofessional.

When we reached out to the owner a second time about the issue above he did not respond (it's been almost 2 weeks), which is piss poor judgement on their end.

As a result several people have cancelled their memberships over the issue, and have gone to other gyms. The rest of the staff was great, but management needs a serious lesson in customer service.

If you come in after 8:30pm, it's pretty much empty. You own the entire gym. There is no other place nearby that give you such great space to work out.
