I have worked out at many gyms and 1440 has been my favorite! The Equipment is always in great shape. The gym is not too busy. The workout crowd is my style and good people work there. 24/7 access. I only wish it had a pool.

Do NOT let the 4.1 ratings fool you! I have been lucky enough to see ALL sorts of gyms globally and I will tell these guys are doing it right. First of all they have new ownership with the owner on site every week day. Staff is great and very friendly. The equipment is in perfect condition and they even have towel service.
What else? Outside training if you dare during summer with sail shades plus a separate TRX room.
Most important the gym is very clean and never too crowded with a great vibe.
I didn't even take the 3 day free trial as I was so impressed with Carter (owner) and his staff.

Carter personally called me after seeing my review and took immediate action to fix the problem. He was incredibly professional, understanding, and genuinely cared about making things right. Within just 24 hours, he had fully resolved the issue and made sure I wouldn’t face any further problems.

I was one of the first members of Fitness 1440 Gilbert when it opened. I loved the gym. Unfortunately, about 2 years ago, the gym became one of the worst I had been to. I canceled and went to another gym after the new manager took over. Luckily, Carter now owns the gym, and it is as good as I remember, and I'm glad to be back.

Updated review. I will add a star somewhat reluctantly and only because Angelo really tried to make things right. After my earlier review another charge appeared on my son's card and I called back but no one answered. I figured I'd have to go in person. This time, however, Angelo the manager, reached out and wanted to make things right. He agreed that the additional charge was a mistake and he worked to take care of it. Sadly, he still said he couldn't refund the yearly maintenance fee billed January 28th on a contract being cancelled on January 31. Fine print in contract. Sheesh. He was apologetic for my son's experience and agreed they should be more transparent. He promised no more charges would appear on my son's card so fingers crossed that will happen. My son liked the gym but he was unaware to the ways of gym memberships and got taken advantage of. Please make sure you have everything they tell you in writing.

Wish I could leave zero stars. They scammed my son (18yo) with lots of no charge/cancel at any time promises. He cancelled and has had $200 debited from his card. They will talk to you once on phone then block your number. I've been in person and manager is never there. My son went on a church mission and I've had to take care of it. Still trying to fix it.

Don’t waste your money here.
They want $50+ a month for a small gym that has 0 amenities. Plus a $50 yearly fee. No pool, steam room, sauna, and classes are an additional cost at over $100+ a month. The only good thing about this gym is the fact that it’s not very busy which makes sense because of the price. They recently raised prices too which is laughable. JEREMY is a jerk who you can tell feels entitled being a “manager”. Basically tells you too bad so sad, cancel if you have a problem with the price increase and then says he doesn’t have anyone higher than him you can speak with. Guy needs a lesson on customer service and retention. If you do go here, don’t work with Jeremy. The other workers are much nicer and willing to help when they can.

Jeremy is still the absolute worst. He either is too lazy or too incompetent to help. I cancelled my membership and needed to pay another month before it would end. Great. They billed me for that last month like expected and then again the day my membership ended which makes no sense since I had already paid for that month. When trying to have him refund me he comes up with some bs about the days they bill and that it’s 30 days not a month. This would still bring me to the 30th day being the day before they billed me. When calling him back to tell him this he finally says “okay I’ll refund you but we are done here” and hangs up. We will see if he actually does what he says. He is the type of person to make shit up to bully you into whatever he says. Then when he gets caught in his own bs finally fixes it. Don’t take what this guy says seriously.

I recently signed up for 2 months free there and was told to pay a signing up fee and the yearly annual fee. After 2 months I realized the gym wasn’t for me and I asked if I can leave, the manager Eric or Jeremy told me I would have to pay the full amount of 700$ to leave the gym, I’ve never been apart of any gym that holds there customers hostage to a contract or when their employees are not transparent with you about the contract when it comes to signing up at a gym. Every gym I’ve been to before lets you leave or by paying a small fee to cancel. I would look at the reviews before signing up here. They bait you with “free months” while you have to sign a contract that locks you into a contract of up to 2 years. Disgusting work.

No matter how cool this gyms equipment is , it is not worth a penny. They rob you and have the worst customer service. We told them we didn’t want to join, I never even signed ANY paperwork, and they said we wouldn’t be charged, almost a month passes and over $300 later… they refuse to refund us, after they promised I wouldn’t be charged.

Awful customer service. I worked out with my personal trainer at this gym for a total of two weeks. I signed up for month to month, Jeremy purposefully locked me into a 2 year contract! I gave my notice to cancel my membership and now I’m getting hassled for overdue payment, late fees and threats to send me to collections. Mind you, I worked out in this facility for 2 weeks! I paid my upfront dues as expected. They want to continue to charge me even though I AM DONE THERE! Read all the reviews and see the trend. Horrible horrible business, I’m very disappointed and would never have joined this gym knowing this would be a hassle. No professional communication from the gym, just a collection company bugging me for money and threats to send me to collections if not paid. I’m very upset, if I were you I would run.

BUYER BEWARE! This gym is the Hotel California - you can check-in any time you like but you can never leave. It took them 15 minutes to sign me up for a membership, but cancelling is a nightmare - from what I can tell you can't cancel. I cancelled last December and they're still reaching into my account each month and taking money. I've called, I've gone in to the gym in person, I've complained - nothing. There's literally nothing you can do other than cancel the bank card they're stealing from.

I’ve been to both the Gilbert and Mesa location. I’m probably going to visit the Mesa location more often - it’s bigger and has more options when it comes to equipment. Although the Gilbert location has a really nice outdoor area. It was very easy to sign up online & get my tag. The front desk ladies are all super nice and helpful. Please be aware signing up for this gym as they have poor customer service. If you cancel you will be charged months after and they will do nothing about it. I canceled my membership about 3 months ago and I am still being charged. I have called multiple times, sent multiple emails and have had most people give me the run around, not take my concern serious, and not reply to my emails. I am still being charged. I was planning to sign up for this gym again in the spring but will not at this point given they have continued to withdraw hundreds after my canceled membership and not take care of it. While the gym is nice and a good location, it can get crowded and is more expensive than many of the other ones in town for the same quality. If you are looking for a gym I would avoid this one and go to a gym with better customer service and more amenities for a better price.

Horrible location. The gym itself is nice but the system they have sucks. You can’t get answers from staff. They make you jump thru hoops to cancel. They’ll charge you ahead of time when you do cancel to make sure they squeeze another month out of you. I was told I couldn’t cancel until 6 months (which was okay based on my agreement ) but then I’m told it’s another 30 days cancellation waiting period in which I’ll be charged. But when I called and asked to cancel at month 5 I couldnt. Just don’t sign up here. EOS is 10 bucks and no issues ever with billing.

No matter how many times I have told them to STOP their solicitations, and even blocked them, somehow they continue to get through and refuse to cease their harassment. Surprise location closed and the franchise owner disappeared leaving staff without the ability to prorate prepaid fees or any guidance. Most members who didn’t have a relationship with staff had no idea the location was closing. All memberships were forced onto Anytime Fitness and the franchise owner apparently didn’t explain to Anytime that he didn’t communicate to his members forcing Anytime to deal with the outrage and confusion.

The gym was very easy to sign up with, however, they make it challenging to cancel the membership. When I asked to cancel the front desk woman sat in silence while she wrote down a number and told me to call without any details. You aren’t able to cancel in person and you have to pay out the following 30 days.

Trying to cancel is a nightmare!!!!

Signed up for Youfit and when they were bought out I called to cancel. I was assured it was canceled then. Fast forward a few months and see fitness 1440 on my bank charges and call the number to report fraudulent charges due to not signing up for such a business. I received clarification that this was the new Youfit and I explained I called and canceled months prior. They looked into it then gave me the run around for a couple days. I went to the location I normally would've attended to close the account in person and it is closed permanently. Now I've been stuck with this reoccurring charge even with following the procedures online. They make you register for an account prior to being able to cancel. Each time I enter my information they state an error on their side. I've called and emailed to no avail. Next step is small claims court.

When this gym took over YouFits clients, I had to contact them SEVERAL times to have them close my accounts. When I was able to get them to do so I made sure to have them close all of the accounts under my phone number. Nearly 2 years later (my bad I didn’t check with my bank to make sure they were no longer taking money out, I had assumed they closed all the accounts like I had asked) I see a charge on my bank account and go through the rundown with them again. This account was for a boy I was babysitting and he had been linked to my number. I had never given them permission to charge my account and YouFit never charged my account either as I had canceled his membership. The boys father was paying for his membership but it was linked to my account because I would take him when I’d go myself. When the guy finally saw the date I called and cancelled all of my accounts he saw their error and said he’d talk to the gm and get back to me the next day. I clarified with them that I’d get a refund and he told me they didn’t even have a daycare in the gym. He didn’t tell me that part until he realized that I DID request for them to cancel all of my accounts. Because of COViD it took a few months for me to even get ahold of them in the first place to cancel my accounts. This is very poor business to take money each month when they buy out other gyms ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS FOR DAYCARE WHEN THEY DONT HAVE A DAYCARE and then they won’t give refunds. Awful awful awful and I hope they aren’t stealing from many other people.

I will never recommend anyone join this gym. The moment I tried canceling I got nothing but a run around from the gym and the financial service they use. I have been trying to cancel since November, I called the gym and was told to call the financial service, I was provided with the information “I needed” and every time I would call the financial service I was missing information or I had to call the gym back. I finally googled how to cancel services and was able to do it online. I was charged for next month being that it’s the middle of the month and I haven’t even used the facility in months, as I moved.

Not a minority-friendly place, and this is saying it mildly. The only reason I signed up for 1440 is because at that time, EOS was crowded, the equipments were old, and I played a sport which required me to workout in the summer. So I signed up after receiving a 2-for-1 deal in the mail. As time went by, I rarely came in because most of the time when I did come in, there was always something. I didn't come the first month because I was too busy. On the 2nd month, every time I came in, someone stopped me because supposedly the person who signed me up made a mistake and I should have been charged for something. For example, they kept asking me why my son had his own membership card. I said because I signed up for the 2-for-1 deal. They would say he has to pay for this and that. Actually, the 2-for-1 deal on the flyer did not include the second person having to pay an annual fee, but they took the flyer from me when I signed up so I couldn't prove it. Also, the person did not say anything about it when I signed up. What I paid for during sign-up was what I was told I had to pay. Then, a year and half later, after not coming in for about 6 months, I came in and forgot my mask. I apologized, but the person behind the counter just couldn't be polite, and as always, had to say something rude. I came in to end my membership the next day. The manager, who is the worst person named Steve, talks me into keeping my membership for free for the next year if I didn't quit. I agree reluctantly, because, of course, I don't trust this place, but I really wanted to be believe that I don't live in Trump-land. The following month, after they pull out my son's annual fee (who was my 2nd person for the 2-for-1 deal), they charge me my monthly fee. How typical. GO TO EOS WHERE THEY RESPECT YOU AND THE BUSINESS YOU GIVE THEM! Currently, EOS has 2 memberships from my family and will soon have mine!

Updated. After several months of receiving erroneous charges from an old YouFit account, which was billed under Fitness 1440, this matter has been resolved thanks to the staff at Fitness 1440. I have spent a considerable amount of time on this issue and finally figured out it was not Fitness 1440 but YouFit. If you have an old YouFit account this could be happening to you as well. I logged into the YouFit website which held my membership information and saw all of the details necessary to get these charges stopped. I appreciate the staff of Fitness1440 listening to me in order to get this resolved. I only wish it could have been resolved more quickly.

Their Silver Sneakers programs are started back up after the long Pandemic hold. The classes are just what you need to stay fit and keep moving and the instructors are great. Like many of the other reviews on here, we canceled our membership on 5/30/20 and are still dealing with issues related to being charged even though I have the email confirmation that our accounts were canceled. We've disputed the charges through our credit card company and was able to be refunded that way, but don't expect communication from this gym. I loved my trainer and would probably still be going here had the pandemic not hit. The finance company has the confirmation of cancellation but refuses to cancel our account because...we have to talk to the club directly because "they handle their own cancellations." I have. I have tried to cancel my membership for over 2 months. Each time I try I’m told the manager isn’t in or he’ll be in shortly. I have asked countless times to have the manager call me back and nothing. I have sent emails asking to be contacted about canceling my membership and still nothing. Beautiful gym! Lots of unique equipment like Jacobs ladders, hip thrust and an outdoor facility. The outdoor facility is included in particular memberships but trust me, it's worth it! I loved going to this gym. Only reason I stopped going was because I was recently fortunate enough to finally be able to create my own gym at home.

I have loved my experiences at 1440 in Gilbert. I joined in the summer and have been consistently impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the gym. One of my favorite parts is the outdoor workout area. Even though the weather is a little colder it is nice to have an outdoor option to lift and get a workout in. I’ve really enjoyed training with Stephen. I feel like I am making progress in my fitness journey and I’m excited for what 2020 will bring.

This place is great. There are plenty of machines and free weights. In addition to the many tread mills and stair machines, there are Jacob's ladders and an outdoor workout area. I'm glad I switched to this place.

I joined Fitness 1440 in early September being new to the Gilbert area I found the staff to be super-friendly, very fitness knowledgeable, willing to help you with any workout technique, fitness or wellness issue you may have. The atmosphere @ Fitness 1440 is very inviting and open 24/7!!
I cannot say enough about Fitness 1440 and highly recommend Fitness 1440 to anyone considering a fitness club memebership.

Great facility. It’s so clean and secure. The equipment is serviced regularly. Never seen a machine out of service.

Friendly staff. They are great and interact with all ages. My whole family works out together.

The training staff is willing to answer questions, spot you or just check your form to reduce risk of injuries.

They helped me get a an appropriate workout plan specific for my goals.

Fitness 1440 provides some of the best weight lifting experiences you can acquire from a gym. The employees are all trained and have a passion for what they do. The employees have helped me become a smarter lifter when I have struggled. I’ve been treated with the best service possible. The trainer’s excellent knowledge and great personalities are what drive me towards fitness 1440 rather than other gyms in the area.
The equipment is all brand new and ranges to any type of workout you are pursuing. Saying that this gym is well maintained would be a understatement. They have been open for 5 months now and have kept the facility in the best conditions possible for those 5 months. If their was a place that has a great atmosphere and a clean setting, it is Fitness 1440. I would personally recommend this place to anyone who desires to train with friendly experts while working in a brand new and clean facility.

I have been a member since July and have struggled with my weight most of my life. I knew I needed a change and quick since I am turning 50 in February . Ever since I walked in I have been greeted by my first name and with a smile. I have taken many of the classes offered as well as having a personal trainer and have had awesome results. I am almost down 30 lbs and have the encouragement from my group to keep going. The gym is clean and offers clean towels.

I’ve been signed up for about six weeks and I love it. It’s not to busy and you don’t have to deal with people stealing your machines or weights. The only thing that bothers me is their are a few machines that I have trouble using because of the size of my shoulders and chest.

Fitness 1440 is a fantastic gym. The staff is very personable which makes the experience with classes a fun experience. They also have an outside gym. You can do everything you could inside with the fitness machines. But the outside gym has more of a ninja warrior feel to it where you do a lot more body weight training. This gym also provides a lot for their members. All together, you want to keep coming to this gym instead of dreading a workout.

Saw it online and it looked great! The outdoor area was really appealing especially. Went in today and got shown around by Troy and met the owner Steve. Both were super nice and told us alot about the gym. Pretty incredible honestly. We joined after getting a workout in! All brand new equipment, specialty stuff you wont see anywhere else like helix, obstacle course stuff, water tower, jump trainer, vibration, computerized fitness assessor, heart rate, request tour own music etc. Highly recommend checking it out...or dont so I can enjoy it all by myself lol!

Mike, Troy, and Marion were three of the individuals who took their time to show me the ropes. As someone who is looking to get in somewhere at a great price while also not having to fight for equipment, this place was great. From the free weight racks to the outdoor circuit training, this place has a little bit of everything for everyone. If pools and hot tubs are what you want, this won’t satisfy that. If trying to get into a 24 hour facility with great folks and a staff willing to give you help and great individual training workouts, this place is going to fill that need and more. I’ll recommend this location to anyone in the Gilbert chandler Mesa area.

I'm already a member of another club for different amenities, and never thought I would be joining. However, after seeing the quality of the equipment and great selection, I decided that it was worth it.
