I’ve had Grace instruct in classes with Shawna as the primary, so I’ve seen her growth which has been consistent.
Today was her first solo class. She did an excellent ***** job. Definitely wouldn’t have realized it was her first. She did a good job with instruction and voice. I liked the routine she came up with and put us through.

I loooove Kaleigh’s classes, I’ve been taking classes at in balance for almost a year and I always try to take every class Kaleigh teaches, sometimes even two or three in the same day, she is great!! You can really notice a difference in yourself after a few weeks taking her classes, I feel much stronger and toned. She is also really good at motivating everyone to keep going back to classes.

10/26 another great class today with Natalie. Disappointed tho that IBP has changed Central’s Thursday morning Active Aging class to Flow. What’s up with that??? And… a couple weeks ago this Thursday class was cancelled with only 3 hours notice! That wasn’t cool. I had scheduled my day around being there.

Updated review. This studio is no longer a good match for me. I am a senior who has been doing mat and reform pilates for about 15 years. I particularly like reformer Pilates, and the classes offered at In Balance met my needs for many years. However things have changed. All but one of my favourite instructors have left the studio. My earlier review was of Suzan’s Active Aging class, and she too recently left the studio. In my opinion, there is only one instructor (Natalie) remaining who understands the limitations of older bodies and she teaches only one class a week at In Balance’s Central location.
My major complaint about this studio is with its management, which is the principal reason for my one star review. The few times I have made a suggestion or raised an issue with them, I have been belittled. For this reason as well as the lack of suitable classes for me, I have cancelled my membership. It is unfortunate because reformer Pilates is a great, low impact exercise program for Seniors. I will look elsewhere for an option that meets my needs and treats me with respect.
Addendum: Had I not already canceled my membership, the tipping point for me would have been management’s response to De Ann’s recent review. She had issues with the way Suzan’s replacement conducted the Active Aging class — issues I shared and because of which after attending that class once I never went back. After just about every class, the instructors ask us to leave reviews, which De Ann did. But rather than addressing the issues with the instructor and trying to make the class more suitable to the needs of Seniors, management cancelled De Ann’s membership.

I've been going to this studio regularly for 9 years. One on the classes they offer is Active Aging. Usually, this works great for me, as I am over 71. Aimee took over the class recently at the Central location on Thursdays. Today in class approximately half the class was on the mat. I perceive this as a rip off. If I want a mat class, I can get it on line for much less money. I pay to use the reformer, so use the reformer!
The mix of exercises with Aimee was heavily slanted toward the lower body, with 6 sets of squats! Anything over 3 sets of any exercise is too much and makes the class repetitive and boring. There was very little focus on upper body strength, which is what I really need. It feels like there is very little empathy or understanding of what aging adults need from an exercise class.
Every class we are berated to leave a google review. This really gets old. There is also a lot of regular encouragement to buy their merchandise, which is annoying. I don't go there to get commercials for their product or provide free advertising via their logo or through reviews.
Natalie conducts the Active Aging class on Sundays. She offers a much more balanced approach to the exercises. Her sense of humor and encouragement make the class pleasant, yet you get a good workout. Her music is the best of any of the instructors as she directs it to the appropriate age group. We are old, we don't want to hear electronica,
Finally, the music Aimee provides is terrible with new covers of oldies with a heavy electronic drum beat. It takes all my willpower to not run out the door screaming. I would much prefer to listen to the originals. What's wrong with Motown or 70s acoustic? Suzanne, the previous instructor had much better music, which made the whole class a much more pleasant experience for me. I hope Suzanne comes back soon.
I keep going back, hoping things will change. The studio is very clean, but they use the cheapest toilet paper that ever came out of China.

I’ve been taking Pilates classes here for about 5 months, mostly Flow as I’ve been getting back into shape—which the studio has helped me do. Now I’m ready to try Tone and Sculpt classes. Overall, my experience has been great. I appreciate that classes are affordable, easy to book, and have a fair cancellation policy. The studio is clean and welcoming, and the equipment is excellent. The only drawback has been inconsistency in teaching style. My favorite instructors so far—Tiana, Sydney, and Aimee—make it easy to follow every exercise. They give precise cues about where to place your hands and feet, guide you to maintain the right form, and offer modifications for all levels. Other instructors have been harder for me to follow, and those classes have been less enjoyable, but I do like that the studio offers many instructors to fit different preferences. I plan to keep coming back.

Today, Britt’s class 11:30 was brilliant. Whenever I am in her class I can feel how much effort and thought she puts into her instruction. Clearly, her gold is that the participants not only enjoy the time they spend in her class, but that they feel a sense of accomplishment and the class was helpful.

I have been wanting to try pilates for sometime and finally decided to try In Balance Pilates. I was running a bit late but still made it inside the studio just under two minutes late (and right behind another member). The instructor, Kait, had an attitude and at the very least was not friendly or welcoming. This has never been the case with other instructors I have dealt with across many different studios (even those with very strict timely policies). The class had a number of open spots and the other member was able to jump in the class while I was rushed out of the studio. I cannot speak about the quality of the equipment or class, but I definitely think that instructors play a vital role in making a class effective and enjoyable. Maybe I was unlucky and the other instructors are more welcoming. Unfortunately, I will have to join another studio. Open to recommendations.

Began going to IBP in January 2025 after belonging to a different studio and prior to that taking private classes. Having attended approximately 60 classes at both the Prince and Lambert locations in my opinion IBP is a very good studio. They primarily focus on reformer training but also utilize the TRX system. Never taken a private class here but they also have other equipment for those classes.
The instructors that have run my classes include Suzan, Kathryn, Tiana, Evie, Mallory, Alycia but there are several others also that I've never been in class with due to scheduling. Each of the instructors runs their classes differently and sets a different tone, that is a good thing because it means that it's never the same monotonous routine, but new twists by each. If the instructors that have run my classes are any indication there is no doubt the others are excellent also. The majority of my classes are with Suzan and Kathryn, they have different backgrounds and experience but they both are very dedicated to do their very best as instructors and are extremely good at it.
This is a well run business thanks to Tiana and I have never had any issue business wise in dealing with IBP. She and IBP are responsive to their clients and it's appreciated.

I am so happy to have found a way of moving my body that feels empowering and supportive of various injuries. This was my first week exploring reformer Pilates and I can easily say that in balance has restored some excitement and eagerness for me to move consistently. I have to give a special and BIG shout out to Sydney for really making my weekend movement special. It’s rare to walk into a room and feel a loving and open energy from someone right off the bat. From greeting Sydney at the door through asking questions and her supporting me during various transitions to ensure I have the right ergonomics to prevent injuries. She gave me and everyone in the class reassurance and encouragement that we are there with someone who cares about us and our growth. I watched her welcome and set someone up this morning who had never tried reformer Pilates before- she very patiently and lovingly supported all of us throughout and I am so excited that I get to look forward to moving on my weekends with Sydney. Sydney you are a gem and I hope you feel the love and support!

I'm late to the review game, but better late than never! I've been going to the Central IBP location since December 2024. I'm so grateful to have found the IBP community. Did my first ever Pilates class at the central location with Mallory. I signed up for the Flow class and I was nervous at first because I didn’t know what to expect. But, Mallory put me immediately at ease by being very welcoming and helpful to get me started and acquainted with the reformer. Great pilates experience! Clean space with nice equipment. However sometimes it’s difficult to understand what the instructors are asking you to do since they aren’t doing it with you, just explaining the movements to you and walking around. Also it would be nice if there was an “intro” class to show how each piece of equipment is used as some of them can be a bit confusing.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! I had my first-ever Pilates session at In-Balance Pilates Studio, and I couldn’t be more impressed! I was a little nervous going in since it was my first time, but Mallory was incredible. She made me feel so comfortable right from the start and really took the time to help me get the correct form down. The whole team is so sweet and kind, which made the experience even better. Love this studio! I’ve been coming to In Balance for a little under a year and they are the primary reason I get out and exercise. I have rheumatoid arthritis and several of my joints are affected, so I often have to trick myself in order to do any sort of physical activity and they make working out a pleasure.
All of the instructors I’ve taken classes with: Ashley, Natalie, Alicia, Michelle, Shawna and some of the apprentices are amazing and make the experience a real treat. They always have great modifications that can be incorporated and will advise you to listen to your body and not push yourself if you aren’t up for it. I’ve been to class a time or two after a long night out drinking and have appreciated this messaging 😆

I have physical/pain limitations and really wanted this to become my regular place in Arizona, but not at all understanding about sometimes not being able to physically make it. Won't try them again.
I always use ClassPass and of course your response isn't specific because it is NOT true. You affirmatively have to respond on your end for me to be charged. I would have been fine in fact if necessary to lose the points for the entire session but you chose to charge me $ on top of my already painful and struggling day.

I'm a first timer to pilates or any work out classes yet Natalie created the perfect environment for newbies to feel comfortable with learning and builds a community with the entire class. She helps you learn the exercises easily and has an incredible way of ensuring you are doing the proper form without making you feel picked on (highly recommend coming in 10 minutes early if it's your first class, she explains every part of the reformer). I’m a huge fan of in balance Pilates. I’ve been coming intermittently for the last 6 or so months. As a bigger gal there is always some hesitation around trying something new like this but all of the instructors are warm and helpful! I feel like I get a great workout and have fun at the same time. Mallory, Suzan, and Natalie are some of my favorites at this location.
The studio is clean and cute, each teacher makes sure everyone wipes down everything after using it which gives you that peace of mind that you’re walking into a clean space as well.

Natalie is a wonderful instructor for the active aging classes! She consistently demonstrates her clear understanding of body mechanics, and how and when to modify her planned exercises. She draws on her vast repertoire of various ways to safely achieve the same stretching and strengthening she plans for each class. If you’re on the fence about coming here, or just nervous about trying Pilates, just do it! I started my Pilates journey here earlier in the year and it really has been such a game changer (for both my body and overall well-being). The classes are easy to follow, and like so many others have mentioned, all the instructors make it a warm and welcoming environment for people of all skill levels. Each class can really be tailored to your needs with slight variations and progressions, which is nice! I have to say that my favorite instructors are Ariana, Acacia, and Tiana. All 3 never fail to challenge me, but they all keep it light hearted and also never fail to make me laugh (especially Acacia). They are the instructors whose classes I frequent the most based on my schedule, but anytime I happen to join in on a class with another instructor, I’m never disappointed. You’re really in good hands with any classes you decide to take! I love the ability to book classes through the app, and you can generally get into most classes. Overall, I’m so grateful I found this studio and got to fall in love with pilates here!

I started reformer pilates 2 years ago. During this two years, I lost 75 pounds, the pains in my back, knees and hips are gone and I can sleep through the night without needing the bathroom. I go to In Balance Central daily. The instructors are all very well trained and prepared. You can’t get a bad instructor. They offer a good range/level of classes so that you can take Pilates as many days a week as you want. The studio has been newly renovated, so it is equipped with new reformer machines and equipment. However, if you like to use Pilates chairs and spring boards, those have been removed.

My husband and I see Natalie for private sessions. She is a phenomenal instructor, very knowlegeable, patient, able to accomodate our physical problems and deficits. I love In Balance Pilates! All the instructors are knowledgeable, helpful and encouraging. My balance, mobility and strength have improved. I'm so thankful Tiana gifted me the introductory offer of 5 sessions. I've never stopped taking classes and I never will!

The absolute best studio I've ever been to. It is warm and inviting and there's never any pressure to do a move that you aren't comfortable with. Modifications are always available and the instructors do not hesitate to help you make them. The instructors and the owner are amazing! I will probably be a lifer....

The absolute best pilates class I’ve ever experienced with friendly, knowledgeable trainers! The workout is amazing and you leave feeling so empowered and strong. During my pregnancy they had modification options for me and I was always still able to participate. The owner is awesome as well!

I had never done Pilates before I took a class with Ashley, and I’m so happy that I did! Her vibe, even for a bright and early Sunday morning class, is radiant. I love how she is attentive without being intrusive, instructive without being overbearing, and tries to be personal even with a full class. She’s perfect for beginners since she’s so patient and kind, but her potential seems endless because of her drive. I felt great after each class, with different focuses every time. Didn’t know I could bend that way— but even after just 5 classes, I sure was much more flexible! Definitely recommend.
The facility and equipment are nice. Their cleanliness is very much appreciated.

An incredible Pilates studio! The instructors here are not only welcoming but incredibly knowledgeable, particularly Tiana. Personally, I've thoroughly enjoyed my Pilates journey here. Always feel so good after my workouts here! Wide range of ages and body types, so don’t feel intimidated. Try it you’ll like it! Diana and Marina are both attentive and skilled instructors. They have helped me gain strength and better balance. And the music makes the hour go by so quickly!
