Journey Training is a holistic gym that helps Transform Lives Through the Journey of Training. Not only do members experience great training sessions that accommodate ALL levels of fitness, but they become a part of an amazing community of like minded individuals who encourage and support one another in their fitness Journey.

We also have a full time massage therapist in our facility, and have a hair salon with 3 hair stylists that work out of our facility.

Journey Training in an exceptional coaching resource. After an injury long distance hiking, Coach Austyn was able to progress me through the recovery process, taking me from unable to stand up without assistance to full range of motion, to now strength and cardio training in preparation for my next long distance hike. I had an amazing time at Journey Training and met the owner Tanner as well as the trainers Austyn and Bailey. I have taken a few of the 10:00 a.m. classes and loved the community feel. The trainers got to know me a little bit and asked me questions as well as introduced me to the class. The people in the class were very welcoming and introduced themselves with a smile and made me feel like a part of the community.
The trainers are extremely knowledgeable and know exactly how to adjust the workout so you don't injure yourself and that you have correct form with the exercises. They also help with one on one training to help dial in on your nutrition and provide even more focused training towards your goals.

I started at Journey in decent shape, looking to change things up, and was nervous about joining a true strength training gym after doing very minimal strength training in my workouts. But my nervousness was for nothing, and was immediately alleviated my first session!

Tanner is so mindful of your personal goals and meeting you where you’re at, but still knows how to guide you to push yourself. The Journey trainers all know their stuff, and each care about helping everyone have a great workout every day, even if you have limitations or restrictions. The other gym members are all really welcoming and helpful too! There really is a huge range of fitness levels at Journey, and people of all ages and skill sets, so everyone can find their place and find ways to push themselves.

Top Choice for where to go in a gym. Why, because it’s not just a gym! The name really does say it all- Journey Training. I used to hate gyms and even switched to my home gym instead for years. Finally I came across Journey and decided to give myself the 6 month commitment. I am 5 months in and see significant results. I am rarely in multiple days of pain. The proven programming allows for perfect warm up, strength, and conditioning blend. I always walk away feeling ready to tackle the day, my body craves eating well to perform, and I get excited to show up the next day. No need to think, just show up and go after it.
The community is highly encouraging not intimidating but accountable toward results and high standards. If you are humble you can learn a lot and even make some important tweaks on movements you probably have been doing for years. I tried out the 8 sessions a month package for 6 months and am thinking of going for the full unlimited. Being apart of Journey has improved my strength, functionality, metal and emotional stability, my focus at work and running a household, and so much more!

Journey training really is a special place! The coaching and programming is top notch, and the community aspect is amazing. The best gym I’ve ever been to! I’ve learned so much from the coaches here and achieved fitness goals I never thought I would be able to attain in the close to 3 years I’ve been training at Journey. Regardless of experience or ability, this is a great place to learn and I would guarantee anyone that they’d get better results and be healthier overall working out here instead of trying to lose fat or build muscle on their own like I tried for so many years with little success. Journey Training is incredible! I am 68 years old, and my experience with Journey has been amazing. My personal trainer Austyn created a workout program for me that exactly fits my needs.

In addition to working with Journey I train at a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy, so my strength and endurance requirements are very specific. Austyn thoughtfully built a program for me that considers both my age and my Jiu Jitsu needs; he really went above and beyond!

I have had the privilege of working with a number of great trainers over the years, including trainers who have worked with Utah Jazz, the San Francisco Giants and even the SF 49ers. As good as they were, my experience at Journey is even better.

I’ve been going to Journey Training for almost 5 years. The trainers are very welcoming and knowledgeable. No matter what skill or injury you are coming in with, every workout can be modified to meet or stretch your abilities.

From the moment I awkwardly stumbled into my first group session, the trainers there made sure I felt like I was part of the crew. The groups are small enough to make you feel like you’re getting the VIP treatment, but big enough that if you start floundering like a fish out of water, you can discreetly fade into the background and let someone else steal the show.

Whether it was my bad form or the fact my idea of conditioning was walking to the fridge, they always had a modification ready and tailored to me.

The team makes you feel like a champ even when you feel like you’re a chump. It’s the kind of place where if you fall over, they’ll help you up, brush you off, and somehow turn it into an impressive new exercise that’s part of the workout.

Journey Training is amazing. I am 37. I had never worked out consistently in my life and never had the desire to work out. I was always jealous of people who actually desired to work out. I've been training with Austyn for almost a year now. Hands down, this has been one of the most rewarding and important experiences in my life. I've struggled with putting on weight for as long as I can remember, and working out alone was something I would try, and eventually quit, time and time again. I wanted to make a real change, and after some searching, I made a call asking if I could come by and get a sense of what this place was all about.

One of the most important things I pushed for in my meeting was safety. I had old injuries and was afraid of what I might be getting myself into. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Austyn was very patient and firm about performing lifts in the safest way possible. Before getting into the meat of what my workouts have now become, Austyn took me through tons of mobility drills, very specific exercises, and then gradual progessions into all of the big lifts I was eager to learn. Austyn is easy to talk to. Down to earth. And I never feel uncomfortable training with him.

I'd also like to give a shout out to Dr. Jess. She's a talented PT who works on site at Journey Training. I asked to meet her, and she worked together with Austyn in helping me correct some of the more tedious aches and pains I brought with me before my journey even began. I highly recommend giving this place a shot if you're serious about making a change.

Training with Elidia at Journey got me through after 2+ years of injuries and health issues! I've been active all my life but after various issues kept piling on I was left unsure how to get back to 'me' again, how to train safely, and to do all the things I love. Elidia worked with me to set up a program and schedule that fit my needs. She checked in every session on how my body was feeling and adjusted accordingly. This was my first time trying personal training and she taught me a ton about proper warm up and form (again, this from a lifelong athlete!) The only downside is she's such an awesome, interesting person you might just want to talk the whole time so remember you're there to train 😆

I didn't do the group classes offered by Journey but I saw the community they built through them; Tanner and his team are definitely doing something right to encourage their members to incorporate fitness into life as a really joyful, participatory thing which makes consistency a breeze.

If you actually need to know more than 166 five star reviews here’s what I can add. My wife and I joined Journey Training a year ago to prep for our wedding. We both have always been active, consistent gym goers, my wife even played collegiate soccer. But there is a HUGE difference between going to LA fitness four times a week and working with a true pro like Tanner. In three months my wife and I each lost 20 lbs. Never done that before. We looked exactly as we wanted on wedding day and that would not have happened without Journey Training and Tanner. Beyond just getting results (which alone should get you five stars), Tanner and his team have created a community at Journey, encompassing of all backgrounds and fitness levels that really makes you excited to go work out. Workouts are always challenging, sometimes even grueling. But everyone that shows up loves being there because it’s a great community of people that want to better themselves. My wife and I do a hybrid approach. Tanner kicks our butt twice a week in personal training. Can’t recommend that enough. And we also do group training which is fun - a great combination of healthy competition and camaraderie. Can’t recommend this place enough, so grateful we found Tanner and Journey Training. Hello everyone! Please take time out of your day to read this if you are in the East Valley and are looking for gym that meets you where you are at. Journey Training is not just a gym - its a community of passionate, ambitious, caring people. It's a place where you can walk through the doors and have people meet you where you are at. At JT, they are seeking to care for you so that you not only thrive in a physical sense, but in an emotional and mental sense as well. When discerning if you're wanting to join the tribe, Tanner Allen is so thorough in asking what you want out of your experience.

For myself, had come off a college baseball season where I had only gotten four at-bats all year, riding the bench, not because I couldn't hit, but because I had suffered a shoulder injury that had inhibited my throwing for over a year. Tanner investigated my situation, asking me every question he needed to know the answer to in order to get a feel for the situation. He even used his PT training background to check shoulder and back mobility, and he built a well-rounded training program for myself to help get my shoulder back and continue my strength training. Over the summer of 2021, all of my power lifts increased and my speed and agility did as well. I got back to fall training for my collegiate baseball team and had all of the confidence in the world, thanks to Tanner being such a dog and hype man the whole summer for me. I led the team in balls hit over 90 mph (probably thanks to Tanner's strength program, as I did not change anything about my swing or approach) and I have my shoulder back. Tanner referred me to Insight Physical Therapy (shameless plug) for some additional rehab as well. On top of that, I found such a great community at JT, and met tons of amazing, kind people, where eventually I was going to their powerlifting competition, packing goodie bags for homeless people, and doing life with them.

One of the cautions people have with gyms that offer a wide scope of options, whether it be athletic training, powerlifting, CrossFit, or general wellness like JT does, is that although these gyms do offer so much, they aren't necessarily able to do all of them well. For JT that COULD NOT BE FURTHER from the truth. Tanner actually does his research, as I have caught him in the act several times haha. If he doesn't know how to help someone, he will go call people, and find a way to learn the best method for them, and he will do it excellence. I hope you can believe me, because I wouldn't be taking time out of my hectic student-athlete lifestyle to write such things if it were not true.

I love Journey training. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF GROUP TRAINING AND FUNCTIONAL FITNESS!! For years I have been active by hiking and training at gyms by myself and while I was able to stay healthy, I struggled to break through my fat percentage and strength plateau. I joined Journey at the beginning of this year and since then my life has been filled with gains! The coaches are very patient and take the time to teach form to avoid injuries and even check at the start of class to see if anyone is injured should there need to be modifications. I have had a great experience with Journey. Not having much gym background the classes were a great way to get into fitness. The classes are intense but a lot of fun as well. Gyms normally have a knack of making you feel self conscious or something of an outsider to the clique of regular iron pumpers. Not Journey Training and certainly not Tanner who is both warm and welcoming and keen to see you meet your development goals. Not your average gym. Having done Crossfit in the past, this is probably one of the most welcoming and friendliest gyms I have ever been to. It genuinely feels like family and is a "judgment free zone." If you have never worked out or are nervous about group training you're going to want to give Journey Training a try. The coaches are super helpful/knowledgeable AND are always willing to take extra time to explain a workout, movement, progression, or technique. Again, if you think you can't do it or are second-guessing your ability to meet your fitness goals, come to Journey Training, you WILL NOT regret it. Since my first phone call with Tanner, I knew I found a forever gym! I've never really found a good fit for group training classes, but my time over the last few months at Journey Training has changed the game. Fitness classes at Journey Training don't feel at all like typical "cookie cutter" classes I've seen/experienced/heard about at other gyms but are instead intentional, fun and personalized. It has completely changed my perspective on what going to the gym means, what getting fit can do for you and how to approach my health more holistically rather than just one facet at a time. Tanner is by far the best trainer I've met or had the pleasure of working with. At 29 I came in with some chronic injury that Tanner approached with the perfect knowledge base and skill set to mitigate, and within 3 months of his careful coaching I was doing movements I never dreamed of (snatch, hand stand push ups) having overcome shoulder bursitis. JT is awesome! Tanner is a great trainer who inspires greatness and encourages progress. My wife and I started at JT in 2012 for about 6 months. After a long absence, I came back in Jan 2018 committed to getting getting stronger, looking better, and feeling better. The group fitness training classes are a good fit for me and the way I like to train. There is no substitute for the energy, encouragement, and accountability you get with structured group sessions. He even makes efforts to tweak and persinalize the workouts for all fitness levels . When I was recovering from an injury, he even customized rehab sessions for me to do when I couldn't do the regular movements. He has such a keen awareness of my capability, yet pushes me, when I really need it.

I love everything about Journey Training. The owner and my trainer Tanner makes it so much fun but my favorite thing about it is that he is so passionate about helping people meet their goals, get stronger, be healthy, and have fun while doing it. He takes time to make sure that your technique and form are correct. He always has you warm up and stretch so that you don't get hurt. He celebrates every victory and gets everyone involved to cheer each other on. He incorporates strength and cardio in each workout and gives you time to master and perfect what you're learning. Everyone at the gym is nice and at different levels in their fitness and it's not intimidating it's more like a bunch of friends chillin' and working to be their very best.

Tanner is the best instructor, hands down :) He can also personalize your routine based on your limitations and is great at picking up each individual’s capacity. Best thing is he really cares for you and will work with you individually to understand your goals, come up with a plan to accomplish that and follow-ups with you regularly if you don’t show up . Before we joined Journey Training last year we have tried all other small to big fitness centers around the area, but none of those had as much impact. I had no self confidence, I was significantly overweight, I was unable to run around with my kid, I didn’t have a community supporting me, and most importantly didn’t love myself.
