Was waiting to buy a sugar free Powerade for over 20 minutes but the “owner” was playing racket ball. He looked over multiple times and seen me waiting. I ended up having to notify a LA Fitness worker which they went over to let him know. He told them it was closed. It’s a shame an “owner” wouldn’t have the integrity to let a potential customer know especially with a misleading sign saying they’re “open”. As I’m writing this he walked right by me and started talking to someone else and poured a smoothie. Just ignored me. Bad business ethics and professionalism.

Way too expensive and they won't let you get a membership if you have an out of state ID and it took them a whole hour to figure that out after they begged me on the phone to come up here and all they did was be a complete waste of time with there pushy salesmen that don't think ahead to make sure you even qualify for a membership

By far the worse LA Gym in Az. Dumbbells are always missing and unorganized on the rack . Staff has been letting this slide for over 2 years since I gone to this gym from time to time .
2025-gym equipment still sucks and 80% of dumbells are missing from the racks .

I used to go to this gym, but have stopped going because they play their speaker music too high. Let's face it, most of us want to listen to our own music while we work out. In my profession, it is very important that I be able to hear clearly. I have to protect my hearing. If I want to be able to hear my own music or podcast or book on tape, when I am at the West Thomas gym near 75th Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona, I would have to raise the volume on my headphones or earbuds to an unsafe volume. When I asked (very nicely) the person at the front desk if they could lower the volume some, I was told they were not able to, that only someone in corporate is able to do it. What a shame. I have to drive 15 miles down the road if I want to be able to listen to my own music without risking hearing loss. I hope someone who cares takes this into consideration and lowers the volume for us all.

Solid gym. I travel across North America regularly and always look for a good gym to keep up with my training. Today was a Power Athlete Jacked Street upper body day and LA Fitness Phoenix had all of the tools necessary to get the full training session done. Aside from all of the standard plate loaded and cable machines and all of the standard condardio equipment you get at all of the commercial gyms, there are several turf areas with lifting platforms, bumpers, kettle bells, and dumbbells. There is also a cave with several squat racks and platforms for all of your basic barbell training. They even had an Echo bike to wrap up with an aerobic conditioning session. Definitely a gym I will use again on another trip. Shout out to Augustine and the staff. Super friendly and helpful.

I really like this gym . However, the one complaint I have (and the reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5) is that the dumbbells are often left scattered around the gym. They’re not returned to their racks and are placed randomly, sometimes even left on equipment. It can be frustrating and makes the space feel disorganized.

Honestly i like this Gym, the only bad thing is that yesterday we were at the gym and after we finished our workout we walked into the restrooms where is the sauna lockers etc. Right in the locker area there was this woman completely NAKED top to bottom, no underwear, bra nothing!!!!!! we went to te restroom area and i told my friend i was letting them know, when i go to the front they said there no such rule as to no be able to be naked in the restroom, what???? i understand there is the sauna and whatever but completely naked walking around the locker restroom like nothing was gross, we would be canceling our membership!

The equipment is dirty, the bathrooms smell like they haven’t been cleaned in days, and the sauna is disgusting, people wiping their noses, splashing water, acting like it’s their personal locker room. Nothing gets enforced unless it’s convenient. I brought in a mat on a quiet day to do abs, and staff (shoutout to Jose) suddenly found the energy to step in for that?
There’s zero consistency, zero effort, and zero pride. The place is run by guys who act like they hate being there as much as their own reflection. The energy is low, the attitudes are worse, and the whole place feels like a gym that’s given up.
This isn’t about rules it’s about a complete lack of standards. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone who values their health, their time, or even just basic cleanliness. LA Fitness, if you care about your brand, shut this location down and start over.
