Customer service here is horrendous a employee here would not give me a badge to check in and wanted me to use my personally device to make check in easier i have had to give my number everytime i come here and is annoying as i dont have much time to myself employee here was uncooperative and stated if I want to do anything I would have to go to the employee as it's there family and they run this place I'm appalled never has this happened before nobody should come here in my honest opinion it doesn't have anything to really offer it's a small gym has no vending machines nothing for protein shakes no incentives to help you become your better self I have never hoped for a place to shutdown before till now

This gym location has really gone downhill in the last few years. The one star is mainly for the smell and lack of cleaning. Treadmills are always dusty and dirty. The water bottle holders on half the machines are missing. They have less cleaning stations then prior so a lot of people gave up on cleaning machines after use. The staff generally are having thier personal conversations or on their phone and never greet you.

The woman’s sauna has been out of service for about 2 months now. I like this gym, but the sauna made it even better. I would go to a different location, but this one is the most convenient for me. Now I will have to go to one that’s 20 minutes away. Very inconvenient.

I highly advise against joining their personal training program, as it operates much like a "used car sales" scheme. Be cautious of signing a 6-month contract, as they will continue to charge you after that period unless you actively cancel. While I initially found the cost to be too steep, what truly sealed the deal for me was the lack of flexibility in completing the sessions. When I requested an extension, the individual "the yes boss guy" I spoke with lied and informed me I had a week to complete them, only for all my sessions to disappear. These unethical business practices left a sour taste in my mouth.

I love this gym, however the front desk woman Arianne, was not polite at all with my daughter, nor me.
I have guest privilege and my daughter got there after me, but the lady was very rude when my daughter try to get in the gym. And I wish there were more courteous people, I work with customer service, and that's no way of treating anyone.

I've been going to this gym for a while and have been a member of the LA Fitness/Esporta club for many years. This location is a solid choice, and there are very few issues. The equipment is clean and rarely broken; if so, it's quickly repaired. The staff always says hello, which is an improvement compared to many other clubs where the staff seems uninterested or bored.

I wish there were another basketball court, as the one they have is usually quite full, but I understand it's probably due to space limitations. The Mesa location has more room and, therefore, more court space. The same could be said about having slightly more gym equipment; more is always better, but I understand the constraints.

Overall, it's a good choice, and I won't be looking for alternatives in the future.

This location made me appreciate how clean my home gym on northern is. I had to be on the other side of town, and this location was convenient, so I dropped in. Kind staff and very large, open floor plan. Stair master is definitely a downgrade from Matrix stair stepper.... cardio equipment is dusty, which made me wonder how clean it was. I clean all equipment after i use it, so it is pristine and disinfected for the next user. The wipes were so gross when I wiped the stairmaster it was pretty disgusting. I know it's a dusty environment down here next to farm land and open desert, so it has to be a lot to keep up with. The drinking fountains are down for service, and bathroom sink faucets only turn on ¼ of the time, sensors must be out. I have been a member since I was a kid, and it means a lot to have awesome, friendly staff and good, clean equipment. Overall, I recommend all L.A. Fitness and Esporta Fitness locations for affordable, gym memberships for healthy, active people.

I bumped into a woman when I was coming out of a bathroom stall. I apologized to her. 20 minutes later; while I was in the pool, a member of the staff said that the police wanted to talk to me. When i went out there the police said that the lady was a staff member and said that I had bumped into her when I was coming out the bathroom. As if that wasn’t alarming. After i told them what happened and that it was an honest mistake; i went back to swim. The next afternoon, i got a call from the district manager of this place who told me that my membership was being suspended because I assaulted one of their staff. If you are an adult this place will be an immature waste of time…

Mostly a good place to workout except for the numerous broken TV's on the treadmills. My main complaint would be with all the people that spend 30 minutes on a machine, most of the time just doing nothing but looking at their phone, and thinking that they can just reserve a machine indefinitely for themselves by placing keys or a water bottle next to it. Just use the damn machine and get off for Christ's sake.

This was once a LA Fitness but it is now an Esporta. I’ve been coming to this location for years, and since the change, this gym has gone downhill. The staff doesn’t acknowledge the customers.They are on their phones and don’t greet anyone. The sauna is poorly maintained and there is often trash left in there. The sauna should REGULARLY be cleaned and sanitized and it’s NOT. The equipment hasn’t been updated and it’s usually dirty. You can visibly see where there is dirt and/ or debris building up around the equipment. The trashes are overflowing. There usually isn’t any paper towels to dry your hands. The only reason why I continue to workout here is simply the convenience of the location. I’ve grown unhappy with how this gym has been continuously growing more and more mismanaged. We expect better Esporta. We pay too much money.

for the past several months beginning this summer my son was  harassed by a particular employee at the front desk who identifies herself as one of the managers, at  Esporta Fitness 2325 E Baseline Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85042. So last month i get on own membership with a guest pass included, Ever since the first time i ever met this lady she has given me a hard time. i only go to this particular gym Sunday evenings. Last Sunday 11/19/23 she questioned the age of my son who is 13. Today on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at approximately 6:00 pm, both myself and my sons were stopped at the check-in. by the same lady I was advised with my membership I have a one guest-only pass. I was then told I had to pay $20.00 for my other son to get in. This was no problem at all. As I tried to pay the $20.00 I was then told by another employee who was at the front desk their system wasn't properly working to take my payment. once I was told the system was not working I proceeded to walk towards the back to work out. As I was walking she began cursing at me and threatening to revoke my membership. When the other employee tried again to take my form of payment, she instructed him to not take my payment and threatening to call the police. As she was doing all of this, she was on the phone with another manager, the operations manager Arianna, telling her a false story. At this time I wanted to make sure this was properly documented so therefore i began recording her on my cellphone. As I am a manager as well, I do not feel like this employee absolutely did not handle herself like a manager. The police in fact did come inside of the facility to escort myself and both sons out of the gym. This was beyond embarrassing and totally uncalled for. I don't have any other issues with any of the other staff members. I am confused and very upset that I only have issues with this particular "manager". at this location.

Got the run around with cancellation. Been trying to cancel for 2 months and was told only an operations manager can do it. Called ahead and went to a location just for the operations manager to not be there. The front desk associate takes my barcode and information down and says they will be sure the operations manager gets it. A month goes by and I am still getting charged and NOTHING.

I repeat the same process, this time asking if the operations manager is PRESENT, just to go and wait and be told that the ‘stepped out’ and will be back. I wait 30 more minutes and ask the associate to call and was told the operations manager will be out another 30 minutes. Frustrated, I call another location and ask if a manager is present to cancel my membership and end up going there to get it done.

This is ridiculous. It doesn’t make any sense that ANYONE can sign you up, but only a manager can cancel memberships.

After being a member of this franchise for 25 years since it was Ballys. I can honestly say that this is the absolute worse fitness international gym in America. I’ve begged them along with other members at this particular location to upgrade the low end equipment for years. After being exhausted in my begging. I’ve been an LA fitness member for a few years. I walked into this Esporta and waited for the front desk person to acknowledge me. After 30 seconds she then looked at me. I greeted her and asked if I could store my bicycle inside since I forgot my lock. She said that I could store it outside only. I said, “It will be stolen since I don’t have a bicycle. She said, “It can only be stored outside.” I asked for the manager and she stated, “I am the manager.” Her name is Ariana. She was highly unprofessional and even if this was the policy not to have bicycles stored inside, she could have made an exception or could have kept an eye out for it. Also, as a the face of the front desk and a manager she should be greeting every customer that walks into the gym. Lastly, her appearance is not reflective of a member of management or LA Fitness.

BEWARE of CREDIT CARD THEFT!!!!
After spending the last 3 months trying to cancel my family account with only two memberships and getting an extreme run around , being told the account was completely cancelled , and the charges were refunded, both by email and by operations manager, customer service people, and membership people, my credit card continued to be billed a monthly fee, and even worse a yearly renewal charge 2 months after being told all memberships were cancelled. Nobody you talk to there is ever responsible or has the clearance to cancel a membership!
I originally signed up at this location as a LA Fitness and they downgraded the location to an Esporta as it fell into disrepair and hired people with no ability to provide customer service.
Buyer Beware providing them with your credit card information.They will continue to charge any way they can in apparent desperation to keep a failing business afloat.

One of the worst gyms I have had the unfortunate opportunity to get a membership at. Hardly any strength training equipment to be had, half the floor space is taken up by vacant racket ball courts, treadmills, and under frequented cycle classrooms. Equipment is regularly under “maintenance” because it is old as sin (probably because the owners of this joint don’t care about client health and longevity but are more concerned with cutting costs to treat this place as a passive income source). About 3 disinfectant wipe stations for the whole gym, conveniently never stocked. Bathrooms routinely left uncleaned and hand soap free. And some how in the modern age, they have dial up quality wi-fi that barely reaches signal to the back of the facility. Not to mention the A/C is set to a sweltering degree. With added bonus of costing $10 more a month for less gym than you’d get at EoS.

Miss this place, unless you have no other option.

Don't like the new setup. And with it being closed for a week one would think the bathrooms would at least be cleaned during this time, but no such luck. I like this gym but the ladies restroom is pretty questionable all the time. Don't understand why management won't just hire a professional cleaning crew to come once a week to clean after closing. Equipment can get a little grungy at times too. Staff is always great though. A little better housekeeping would get 5 stars from me…….Ok months later from my Previous review they have hired an excellent cleaning person and she keeps it really clean equipment floors etc. the only complaint now is that the music is so freaking loud it drowns out your own headphones when you’re listening to your own music it’s very annoying but I guess if that’s the only thing that one can complain about about going to a gym it’s not that bad although it really is. Today is 5/4/2022 about two weeks ago I went to complain again about the loud music and was completely ignored. Playing background music is fine but when it sounds like you’re in a club that’s not ok. I have heard others complain also but no change. I have my own music but can’t enjoy it. I try to hit this gym every Monday and Wednesday mornings. It gets kinda busy later in the day, but it's still well worth it!

Their equipment is always in great repair or brand new. The staff are constantly cleaning everything after people use it, and the selection of weights and machines are incredible.

The pool is wonderful way to cool down in after a good workout.

Before becoming Esporta Fitness, it was LA Fitness. I never had issues with the gym when it was LA Fitness. Sure, the pool was closed here and there due to no chlorine being detected, or for who knows what other issues. I can tolerate that. But now that it's become Esporta Fitness, this gym has gone downhill fast. It seems as though the average gym member has dropped to the age of 18. I don't have an issue with younger kids, but I do have a problem with younger kids who are extremely disrespectful. It seems as though everyone there is there not to be fit, but to talk, and to take selfies of themselves. The gym is so crowded, even at 9pm. I used to be able to use free weights and have my own space in front of the mirror. Not anymore. '

And don't get me started on the pool situation. Now the pool is being used for play time. For kids playing tag. For kids pushing each other into the pool. And for those of us doing lap swim, we now have to play a game of frogger toavoid being hit by these kids. And hey, you want to make out with your partner, just head to the hot tub area. Wouldn't be surprised if a few babies were conceived in that hot spot.

If there were another gym closer to where I live, I would drop my membership and move to it. For now, I'm stuck.

Been going here about 6 months now. I used to think it was alright. But lately it has really gone down hill. All of the machines are very dirty. There are sweat marks covered in grime all over the machines that have obviously never been cleaned. The bathroom and locker room is filthy. The trash cans are over flowing all over the gym . The ladies locker room area smells like sewage every day, and the sauna is rarely even over 150. Still way below the temp it needs to be at. Not that I even use the pool, but it is often closed. There are so many people there that I can’t even get a full workout in anymore. Not many other options in the area for an alternative gym. I have hopes that things will improve at this location.

I don't know where to start, but this club literally robbed me. I just reached out to the front desk person just to check in, and he took me to the manager. this guy started forcing me to get a personal trainer, I repeatedly declined his offer and insisted him to help me check in for my workouts. He stretched the time forcing me for the trainer's membership and offered me low charges. Eventually I exhausted and accepted the offer that I thought was for the single session membership. He scheduled me for the session which had to reschedule because the lady trainer was not ready. I got irritated when this trainer again put me on wait, and reached out to the manager for my membership cancelation and to get my refund. Unfortunately, he did not give me time to rethink and cancelled my membership with the heavy penalty $360 which was quite shocking to me. I did not get a single session despite of paying $500. I reached out to the head office these guys did not support me in this matter and left me frustrated. It was a huge amount which had been charged from my credit card without my consent. Just because I signed the silly contract which I did not allow to read fully. this club manger behaved very rude and nonprofessional when I reached out to him for the help. looks like he was only interested in charging credit card, he did not seem to provide me a service for which he charged my card. I am now reluctant to go in this club.

Absolutely terrible staff. I called to cancel the morning before my next bill date, which is on a Saturday. Staff said I can’t cancel over the phone I have to send an email. Don’t get a response from the email until 4pm. It says that I have to either call my gym (which I did) or call member services which is only open 7-2 Monday-Friday, conveniently before they responded to my email. They said I can go in person to cancel Monday-Friday 9-5 so I walk in at 4:44 and am informed that I can’t cancel because there is no manager there. Guess they just take off early and now I have to pay an extra month even though I’m moving out of town because no one can help me.

Also this gym is gross. They never have wipes or anything to wipe down equipment, much of which is outdated. The setup makes no sense and if you want to do squats here give up because the two racks are always occupied.

Equipment and facility is very up to par, the main issue is the staff. Multiple times the gym has not been open on time, 15-20 minutes over scheduled time. Equipment is never put away or organized; I’ve been there at opening, mid-day, and closing hours and the place is a mess constantly. Original review — The bathrooms are always out of soap and paper towels. The guy who makes smoothies always on his phone and not happy to serve you.

There is zero airflow on the treadmills so it gets real hot running on them. They have tiny fans about 20 feet high on the ceiling and they have them on low speed - pretty useless.

The staff at the enternece are great though - always greet you and say goodbye when you leave too.

The main reason I have a membership here is the suana and for the past weeks the temperature has consistently been under 150°. I came here one time maybe 6months ago for the three day free trial. The sales guy said he had to take my credit card info for insurance purposes(which I thought was super weird) and he me told me I wouldn't be charged until I told him I wanted to sign up. I was charged for the membership that night and I emailed saying that I did not want the membership and never got a response. This morning I woke up to an email saying my payment didn't go through. I had completely forgotten about it. I've been getting charged every month because I went one time for a "free" trial. The gym is old, the equipment is old, when I went the bench press was missing a screw and the bench would slide off the frame. The gym is not worth $30/month and these guys are scam artists. I've been a personal trainer and worked in big box gyms. These are the guys that give every gym a bad reputation.

The pool was closed AGAIN today, per a red county order taped to the door. No notice was posted in the front at check-in. There was a homeless woman, shopping bags and all, washing her hair in the hot tub. When I brought this up to the employee, she quickly went to talk to her. And the homeless woman got out of the hot tub... and went into the main pool. So if you pay your membership each month, you won't be able to use the pool because this gym cannot stay in compliance with the county codes. But if you are homeless, you can apparently walk right in and take a bath in the closed pool for free.

This is a good gym. My only knocks are it's hard to be consistent because they open so late. 5am on weekdays and something crazy like 8am on the weekends. Oh, and they only have 3 squat racks. So even if their mildly busy, your waiting. Other then that, great gym. But if your a morning person EOS will have a location on 19th and baseline in 2023 so rejoice. A 24hr gym in our area!

The dirtiest Esporta/LA Fitness I’ve been to

Machines/ raiment are old, The center is unkempt and the girl at the front desk is extremely unfriendly/ rude. (Manager needs to put someone else up there in my opinion)
I went here just to check it out so I’m thankful this isn’t my local Esporta, I’d never want to exercise if this is all they could offer.

I am a regular at this gym, always friendly. However there is always some opportunity to improve. More often then not, there is no paper towels or disinfectant spray on the stations, specially by the benches, the most popular one, trash cans are overflowing, you used to see someone cleaning around, you don't anymore. Today I told them there was no paper towels or spray on the bench station, front desk told me they would send someone, 45 minutes later I finished my workout and still no one came. That is not a great customer experience.

I had joined this Gym several years ago and enjoyed my trainer and time spent there. I had to leave town for family reasons for a year and when I returned, restarted my time at this Gym.

I had some left over training and resumed with my old trainer who told me that he was not being paid based on some issue with the transition from LA Fitness to Esporta. In talking to the Training manager, to free up funds for my trainer I stated I would buy 6 new training, hopefully releasing the funds which should have been a win win for both me and the trainer.

I did not realize the training manager had signed me up for a year of training at $280 a month. Shame on me and shame on him for not clearly stating what he was doing. He new I just wanted to make sure Payton my trainer was being paid. I know it was
partially my fault for not reading the fine print, but if he made it clear, I would not have signed up for that.

I had heard this kind of thing has happened before, just too late to make sure it didn't happen to me. So $2,380 dollars later, I am finally out of LA Fitness and Esporta.

This note is to inform others to be careful on trying to help and READ THE FINE PRINT, shame on me.

Updating my review. Since the esporta conversion, my wife felt uncomfortable and unsafe. The class instructors she enjoyed also felt uneasy and left for other fitness centers. The culture and mood has drastically changed. Feels unsafe and unfriendly, just like being back in LA.

Thoroughly enjoying this place. Recently upgraded with the latest equipment, spruced up interior, new experienced staff. Surprisingly affordable for the quality and variety of the equipment and facilities.

Reading the negative reviews leaves me puzzled. Have to remember that the reviews sometimes say more about the reviewer than the reviewed.

This is first time in about 8 years that I have been to this gym. I like the machines there and they have plenty so there is no waiting. However, they need more stations with with sanitizer for wiping down the machines. Also, the ladies room was dirty, needed to be cleaned. Other than that, it was ok.

I’m not even sure where to start. When I signed up the employee lied to me and said my membership would be accepted at most LA Fitness locations, but this is not the case. Either there is no air conditioning here or it barely works. Employees are walking around the gym goofing off meanwhile there are weights strewn about, bathrooms filthy, toilets clogged, the whole place is a mess. Trainers will call you and even come up and harass you during your workout trying to get you to sign up for personal training!! Front desk staff is so rude and will roll their eyes at you when you bring up a concern. There’s also less quality/selection of equipment compared to any other Esporta/LA Fitness I’ve been to.

The gym is well managed but corporate is super cheap it’s hot as hell in here during the summer and after 8 years they haven’t upgraded the weight training equipment they’re getting left behind and I’m out growing Esporta like 60% people of the members I speak to at this location it’s pretty sad that this is only setup as a moneymaking trap instead of a service for the customers

The daycare is advertised to open at 8, but there's hardly ever a staff there at that time. I've repeatedly had to wait up to 15 minutes in the daycare alone with my kid, until a caregiver decided to come in and let me get the service I pay extra every month for. Once I waited so long I had to hunt an employee down and ask them to send someone in. The ladies restroom is clean about 60% of the time, and is ALWAYS out of soap or paper towels at at least one sink, at any given time. Equipment selection is pretty limited, and it always seems busy, regardless of the time of day. Staff are cordial, but seem incredibly indifferent and not very happy to be there.

Liked coming to this location a lot since moving over cities but since summer is here, it’s been really warm in this location. There’s NO FAN in the yoga room. They said they would get maintenance on it or operations at 930am to put a portable fan that’s typically there but an hour goes by and still no fan in yoga room .

I love it here and pretty much everyone’s nice but Damien rubs me the wrong way and is very unprofessional and rude. I also over hear him treating his coworkers rude as well. he never says good afternoon or good morning … and always on his phone. if you guys want us taking you seriously and enjoying coming to workout which is sometimes a difficult part of our day to begin with , hire nice and respectful people! they are the face of this company and the first interaction we have!

This gym is missing some of the best equipments:
1) T bar machine, one of the mandatory back machine.
2) Smith machine are really old ones. The barbel doesn’t oesn’t go all the way down.

Everyone has been great! Jacee, William, Leo , Corey and all the others we have talked to/worked with has been phenomenal!! I've never been one to formally do a gym workout because I was very self conscious about my body and all, but these people make you feel like family. Check them out! Their prices are great. The staff from the front door to the trainers are all amazing. They are always positive and motivating. Even on days I come in not really wanting to work out I’m greeted with a confirmation that I made the right choice by coming in. Front desk is always sitting and on phones, everyday of the week there’s a shortage of toilet paper in the womens restroom. :/ trash on the counters and floor. If there are three staff members at the front chatting and chillen idky they can’t do a restroom check and refill the toilet paper. Waiting for the cleaning crew is just poor work ethic. Spray bottles always empty and low. Cleanliness is just really sad here, it’s not the cleaning crew either. They are working, have your staff pitch in like all the other gyms make their team members do. I used to run multiple gyms here in Phx and that was a must! I never made my members walk into a dirty gym.

Where to begin, the parking lot is always TRASHED, like literally bags of garbage from the fast food places, thats been there for a week now, they moved equipment around and got rid of some of the ‘cleaning stations’ not that they had many to begin with. Lately either the bottles are all empty or they have NO paper towels to clean equipment with. Its pathetic. Theres literally a walmart and a Frys across the street, go buy paper towels!! We’re still in a pandemic and they have nothing for you to clean with. And if you try and say something you usually get and eyeroll or a heavy sigh from staff. Thats assuming any of the handful they have sitting around on their phones the whole time, heaven forbid they should look up from their phones and acknowledge you. The only reason Im going there is cuz my Anytime Fitness never reopend after COVID and the only other gym within 10 mins is Planet Fitness and I REFUSE to go there. Get your act together Esporta!!!

Been a member of LA since 2016, gym used to be really nice and clean, but since it’s transition to Esporta this gym has downgraded. The rearranged equipment clutters the weight lifting area and has TOO MANY people in one area at a one time. Machines, benches, squat racks, and cable weights are often times occupied. The equipment is seemingly dirty and doesn’t appear sanitized at all. Finally, Mason at the front desk will try to gouge you of your money by selling you a membership you don’t need. He won’t work you to provide you a memebership that fits your needs. Truly poor customer service from his part. The “new” esportas are just a downgrade from what once was LA Fitness, which ironically still reads LA Fitness in the front.

Loved the gym at first. Then started to notice the things others complained about: paper towels in the sinks, on the floors, showers kind of dirty and moldy, weights left scattered around when you walk in at 5am, when they should have been picked up by the closing trainers. The gym also opens 20-30 minutes late at least twice a week. It's now 5:25 a.m. and the gym has yet to open.

I'm updating my review from a few weeks ago. They've hired some new staff and seem to be turning things around here. The front desk people actually acknowledge you and the gym opens on time, even a few minutes early lately. Alot better
