When this was a 24 hour fitness, I got a killer deal. Nearly 800 upfront for 3 year membership and 5 PT sessions. Unlimited $50 per year after that. LA fitness does not do the deals that 24hr fitness did, but they are at least honoring the deals they inherited from 24hr fitness.

The equipment is old. The building is in very poor condition. The pool is supposed to be heated, but the water is always uncomfortably cold. And the locker rooms are always dirty.

Very Trendy Workout Joint. Always Clean And Welcoming...They Greet, Brand And Close. I Love Playing B-Ball At This Location, Most People Play & Not Argue. Beautiful Like Minded Folks! Hopefully, They Stop Billing Credit Cards After They Are Reported Non-Operable.

Wow! When LA Fitness took over the AZ 24hour Fitness locations, I think most suspected LA would close a lot of the clubs. Itβs just what theyβve always done when they buy a competitors locations. #carnivore. Well this club closed within the last week or two. I knew the end was probably near when they changed the hours. It recently started closing at 8pm on weekdays and 2pm on the weekends.
Now permanently closed. Even the sign at the street is whited our.

This is one of the nicer LA Fitness gyms in the area. It's much cleaner than the one at Mesa Riverview. For barbell work, there are three squat racks, at least four benches and this gym never seems to be crowded.
If you're a swimmer, the pool is clean and had bright sunlight. Solid place too knock out a good swim.

I love this gym, that being said the trainers were probably the first people to apply for the positions. None of them pay attention when they train their clients (I watch) and they all seem really unqualified. Also the blonde "main" trainer spends her time sitting on her phone ON TOP OF the counter. So incredibly unprofessional and just generally off putting. The trainers also have some crazy aversion to cleaning up at all, if someone went up once an hour and moved the weights back to where they should be the gym would be a lot cleaner, it has gotten to the point where I'll stop my own workout and put away a bunch of weights. The front desk is also rarely manned, can I get paid for sitting in the back doing nothing too?

This LA fitness is absolute trash. Hardly any barbells, limited weights under 35lbs, most equipment is broken and always "scheduled for maintenance." Always dirty. The only reason I came here was for the hours, with it being almost open 24/7 now they're changing that too. Definitely going to switch over to EOS Fitness. Will be a lot cheaper and I'm sure they will actually service broken equipment and actually have quality weights.

I have noticed that alot of the equipment is either old, showing alot of wear, or not working properly. On 3 occasions, my heartrate button didn't work on the treadmills. I go to a different location to use the pool. This one has paint peeling from the ceiling (not kidding) and the tile is filthy.

Half the treadmills and elipicals are broken. Old equipment . Been coming here for several months. They have replaced some cable equipment and they replaced some tiles but no improvements other than that. If picky about equipment i recommend heading to the lafitness off of mill and southern. Lots of steroid junkies taking selfies there but its clean and newer equipment.

Am I supposedly paying more than other gym for getting rid of guilt of cleaning machines after myself? I'd at least like the option to wipe down the machine if it seems sweaty after someone else.
Outdated machines, missing buttons & the only eye contact from employees were after hunting one down to use the restroom.
The only nice thing about this place is the availability of the machines.

Has that 80s/90s feel to it (at least I assume that's what it was like back then as I was born in the 90s). Machines are mostly old school cybex, which I personally love. Best LA Fitness I've been to in Arizona.

Been a member at MANY gyms in my life. This Tempe AS location is clean, well managed, and really not crowded like other area gyms. I can always get my kids into the care area without delay. Cost isn't overwhelming given I have all access nationwide plus 2 kids in care, and 2 guests, daily. $70. Worth it!

Nice low pressure work out facility. This location has a lane pool, large hot tub, dry sauna, steam room and lots of machines upstairs. Typically not very crowded but it is getting a little old and not as nice as some of the other locations. Note that this location does not provide towels (even at the pool) and you need to bring your own lock for the lockers.

Half the time there are no paper towels in the dispensers. The bathroom is normally dirty. However, my complaint here is mainly due to their unwillingness to change tv channels (best part is, 3 of them were not even turned on).
Go to one of the other LA Fitness locations.

I'll start with the good; it's open 24 hours during the week and usually never busy enough you'll have to wait for (cardio) machines. They also have a pool, hot tub, and sauna if you're into that. The bad; layout is terrible, machines are always broken and in disrepair, equipment is aging, A/C constantly leaks, any rain causes pooling water on the workout floor, and the free-weight section needs to be larger. It's a convenient location, however there are other gyms around that are less expensive, and offer a better experience.

I like LA fitness and I go to quite a few different locations to attend classes of the trainers that I like. But more and more I am noticing a lack of care and quality from the operations side of things. They have a herd of people standing around waiting to sell memberships and personal training, while machines stand broken, lights in the fitness rooms are out, the equipment is so limited in some rooms that they can't even accommodate the people who want to participate in the classes.
By far the worst is the location at Baseline and the 101. The teachers for classes there can't get management to replace the faulty microphones or buy enough equipment so everyone can come to the classes they offer. The personnel act like we are an inconvenience when we request that things get fixed. If the company keeps allowing this, they will lose business. At least mine.

Eh, the gym is old, yes, so long as its maintained i dont really care about the age of the weights. The sauna doesnt really get hot. I feel like the staff either sits on their phones and ignore you or are too fake happy go lucky in your face friendly, probably to make up for the lazy do nothings.

A lot of people seem to wear their shoes and socks into the steam room. This makes it smell like wet shoes and socks. You'll want to bring your own eucalyptus oil to mask that smell.

Since LA Fitness purchased 24-hour Fitness, I don't see any upgrades to the gym that would match the other LA Fitness locations near us. To me, it seems like like they just obtained the gym and that's it. For the past four days, four out of five of the ellipitical machines were not working -- just like 24-hour Fitness.

Although some of the equipment may be lacking, it is still a great gym where you can always feel welcome by staff and know they'll lend a listening ear--and it's the sort of gym you know you won't be jam packed in! Tony is also FANTASTIC and he'll do his best to meet you halfway and you're guaranteed a welcome and smile always!

Horrible staff, they're always sitting at the front desk with their feet up on the counter on their phones. They have absolutely no knowledge of what they are doing and don' t seem to care about their jobs, the cleanliness of the building or customer service. Can't believe how much of the equipment is broken, not to mention how horrible the sauna and steam room smell. Hopefully things will change but for now this place is a dump.

I'm a new member to the gym. I like it but I don't love it yet. I like the amenities like the pool and steam room. The staff at this location aren't the friendliest from what I've seen so far and some of the girls working are a bit immature.

Sat in the waiting room trying to talk to someone about a membership for 40 minutes. Staff barely aknowledged us and told us to wait for a person who never came. Finally told them we would have to leave if they had no one to sign us up and front desk guy shrugged and said ok. Super rude. Never going back to that or any la fitness location.

First time coming here. Hoped to transfer from LA in central Phoenix. But wow. The staff wasn't friendly. The building was poorly maintained. No soda in vending machine. There was actually dirt on the floor at the weights. The floor was slippery. Not smart for a gym. The showers had miscellaneous leftover items in them. I can't trust this place to come back. Terrible experience.

It's open later than other LA Fitness locations. But their gym equipment is 20 years old and really run down. Everything in the place is in disrepair. It looks like 24 hour fitness had not overhauled this place in awhile and LA Fitness is following suit.

I'm a member and took my High School senior daughter in to give it a try. She's on break and will be needing a place to work out after graduation when dance classes and cheer leading end. I asked if they had a guest pass and instead of being polite and simply saying, "Unfortunately no. We would have to charge you $15 for a day pass" they said in a smug way, "We aren't in the habit of giving out free memberships." No one asked for a free membership. In fact, when I kept pressing asking how people could know they wanted a membership unless they gave it a try and FINALLY found out about the day pass, I was fine with the $15. But when the smug, condescending young man decided he needed to reiterate that it's "Because we aren't in the habit of giving out free memberships," and just stood their silent when I told him "No one is asking for a FREE MEMEBERSHIP," and to keep saying that is making us not want to be here at all, there was no apology. Nothing. He just watched us walk out. It's like they're trying to go out of business. I was actually still going to get the $15 from the car and it was my 17 year old daughter who turned around and said, "You know what? Forget it. I don't even want to work out here. Let's go home."
