Worked with Alyssa Chavka as my personal trainer, and have to say that she goes above and beyond for her clients and does not force anyone to lock in a long-term commitment. Gets creative with specific muscles and areas that I want to improve on. 5/5 personal trainer!!!

The gym is fine overall. The quality of the demographic and facilities are much worse than Fashion Square or Biltmore, but it’s half the price so makes sense.

My biggest issue is the lack of enforcement of no backpacks or bags on the gym floor. I’ve never seen it enforced. Pretty concerning when a lot of the high school kids doing it look like potential school shooters. One time a kid left a threatening note in the locker room and the club never made membership aware of it (had to hear from a trainer). Should at least enforce the bag rule.

There’s a noxious sewer smell back again today. It comes and goes but some days it’s awful and I don’t know how people walk around like everything is normal and management can’t seem to smell anything. Feel like I’m in the twilight zone, maybe I’m the last person left that can smell.

I’ve been a lifetime member for over 4 years in multiple location and I have to say that this location is by far the worst one I’ve ever been to. 8 out of 10 times, it smells like sewage when you walk in and on the way to the locker rooms. The men’s bathroom in the locker room is always disgusting and everything just seems so outdated.

How and why is corporate not doing anything about this… it’s just unacceptable how bad this LT is.

As a lifetime member from another state I have to say this gym is so sad. It is disgusting, dirty, and old. Lifetime is supposed to represent luxury and a lifestyle and this location should be an LA fitness. Locker rooms dirty, floor is overly loud, and the crowd is pretty low brow. If you want to experience lifetime- do not go here. If you’re paying upwards of $300 plus all the fees to workout here, you’re being ripped off. Lifetime should be ashamed of this location.

Becca has tremendously helped improve my body recomposition which has resulted in significantly reduced body fat and extreme muscle gain. Additionally, she has helped me out with safe and effective stretching that has led to further flexibility and faster recovery. Becca has also been an excellent life coach putting me on the right trajectory of making healthier lifestyle choices. Becca is a dedicated fitness trainer with advanced skills and creativity that can be specifically tailored to any clients needs. I highly recommend Becca as a fitness trainer and coach.

I live across the street of the pool. Tonight i called to ask when the music would be ending just because it is very loud. Ashley picked up the phone and was extremely rude to me, all i wanted to ask was when the music would be ending. She hung up the phone and told me she wasn’t going to have this conversation with me since i call every friday. Keep in mind this is the first time i’ve ever called because i usually work friday night till 12 and don’t hear this music. I tried calling back and asking why she had an attitude with me when all i was trying to do was ask a question. Life time fitness should retrain their employees on how to speak to people. I’ve been living in this area for a couple months now and i’ve been considering coming in to tour the gym to get a membership. But if this is how the staff treats and speaks to people i don’t think i want to give my money to a corporation where people are entitled to act however they want because im not a “member.”

I love this location and I especially love my personal training sessions with Becca! When I started working out with Becca, I hadn't exercised in nearly 20 years. I was completely out of shape, intimidated by the gym, and had no idea how to use most of the equipment. From day one, Becca met me exactly where I was-with encouragement, patience, and just the right amount of
challenge. She took the time to educate me, guide me through proper form, and help me build confidence in my ability to move again. Her workouts are thoughtful and intentional, and she somehow strikes the perfect balance between pushing me beyond my comfort zone and offering unwavering support.

I've learned so much from Becca-not just about fitness, but about what I'm capable of. Thanks to her, the gym no longer feels overwhelming, and I genuinely look forward to our sessions. I can't recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and
empowering trainer.

This is an honest review. The facility is always clean and maintained. A lot of people use this gym and at times is very busy. However, the people who complain, hardly take the time to realize that if lifetime was not present in North Scottsdale, they would have no place else to go. Also, the main reason why I’m giving it Four stars, is there a group of professional member complainers who’s only job is to walk around the facility, and find reasons to be unhappy. These people need to show a little bit more appreciation to the people that are doing their best to serve them. I have been to several lifetimes across the country, and this is definitely one of the best. To the one star group, get a life.

I had high expectations for Lifetime, but it has been a complete disappointment. For the ridiculous price they charge, you’d think they would offer top-tier service, but that’s far from the case. The staff is rude, arrogant, and condescending—they act like they’re doing you a favor just by acknowledging your existence. Instead of being helpful, they seem more interested in upselling overpriced memberships and services while looking down on anyone who doesn’t fit their “ideal” member profile.

The gym itself isn’t much better. The equipment is often occupied or in need of maintenance, the locker rooms are not as clean as they should be, and the whole place gets uncomfortably crowded during peak hours. For the price they charge, you’re honestly paying for a name, not quality.

Recommendation: EOS Fitness
If you’re looking for a gym that actually cares about its members, go to EOS Fitness across the street. The atmosphere is better, the staff is actually friendly and helpful, and you’re not overpaying just to be treated poorly. Do yourself a favor—skip Lifetime and join EOS!

I lived in Minnesota for some time (HQ of Lifetime) and this gym is better than any of them I went to when I was there, even rivaling the flagship. Maybe it’s the standard of Scottsdale, but it’s awesome regardless. You think it’s going to be packed by the parking lot, but everything is well managed and accessible all times of day.

Great gym with every amenity you could want. I'm surprised with some of the reviews that talk about cleanliness and upkeep. I find the gym and men's locker room to be clean, up to date, and smell good.

The staff from the personal trainers to the front desk are very friendly. For personal training, I recommend Jared.

Really like the cafe. The smoothies are excellent. The Lifetime brand of protein powder is very tasty and has few ingredients.

Love the water jet massage beds and cryro therapy beds.

They also provide anti gravity chairs and Hypervolt 2 massage guns

Love the gym. The amenities are great and the equipment is new. Location is super convenient for me.

BUT the facility literally STINKS. It smells awful. Like sewage. Been a member for over a year now and I can’t recall a day where it didn’t smell bad. I’ve been reconsidering my membership bc of this reason for a while now. I feel as though it’s getting worse. Are they doing anything to fix this?

Given the absorbident costs of a membership here you would think that service would be top of the line. You would however be incredibly surprised by their level of responsiveness. My family and I have been members here for a few years (initially through a program that this gym was included in) and it seems to be less and less impressive.
Pros:
Rockwall
In Gym Chiropractor
Constant Challenges, workout programs etc
Massage Chairs

Cons:
Unreliable rock wall/ pool schedule
They will literally decide it is time to close the pool WHILE YOU ARE IN IT
Not responsive
Crazy Expensive
ALWAYS SMELLS RANK, especially after rain (according to management the piping is just really old, and there is nothing to be done)
Equipment, facilities constantly needing repair

I don't know that we will be sticking around given the ever increasing pricing meanwhile the quality of the gym continues to be less than impressive.

For how much this place costs... They need to step it up. That's why I did 2 stars. When comparing it to other gyms and the price.

Crammed gym, wayyyy too many cardio machines that don't get used, the showers are gross and smelly, and it's shocking they don't have any cold exposure.

EOS is offering amazing perks and benefits for a fraction of the cost. This location has not changed at all in the last 15 years. It's pretty much the exact same gym from 2010. Hopefully corporate is planning on bringing this gym up to date considering it's one of the most expensive gyms in one of the nicest cities in the country.

Lifetime Fitness in North Scottsdale is truly a top-notch fitness facility that offers an unparalleled experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a welcoming and professional staff who are always eager to help with a smile. The facility itself is immaculate, with state-of-the-art equipment that caters to all fitness levels, whether you're into cardio, strength training, or functional fitness.

One of the standout features is the wide variety of group fitness classes available, ranging from yoga and Pilates to high-intensity interval training and cycling. The instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, and ensure that every class is engaging and effective.

The spa-like locker rooms are another highlight, complete with luxurious amenities such as steam rooms, saunas, and even a whirlpool. After a tough workout, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. The outdoor pool area is beautifully maintained and offers a resort-like atmosphere, making it a great spot to swim laps or just enjoy some leisure time.

Additionally, the on-site café serves up healthy and delicious meals and snacks, which is a convenient perk for those who want to grab something nutritious post-workout. There’s also a dedicated area for kids, making it a family-friendly environment that accommodates everyone.

Overall, Lifetime Fitness in North Scottsdale delivers a comprehensive wellness experience that goes beyond just a gym. The combination of top-tier facilities, extensive class offerings, and exceptional customer service makes it worth every penny. I couldn’t be more satisfied with my membership here. Five stars without hesitation!

Horrible aquatics manager Kaitlyn Davis. Does not respond to or try and correct any of the feedback back given about the pool and her aquatic department instructors. The Monday, Wednesday, Friday morning swim instructor is a joke. He acts as if he is the pool police when his swim group arrives at 6:30 am. If so he and Kaitlyn Davis should make sure the outdoor pool is clean. Several times I and others have seen napkins, debris of all kinds in the pool and sometimes feels like I am swimming in a dirty pond. Maybe instead of worrying about if your swimming group has enough lanes or bothering people you should have them cleaning the pool. Poorly maintained and managed aquatic facility and department especially for the money you pay to go to this location in North Scottsdale. Worst aquatic facility I’ve experienced.

This is an excellent fitness center. I had a horrible experience with their spa massage therapist named Lorena. She would not listen to me. I just wanted a neck and shoulder massage and she refused. It was her way or no way. She demanded I get undressed which I didn’t think was necessary for just my neck and shoulders, and then she told me to leave. Awful. She thinks she is the customer.

This gym is way to busy. You can never use the basketball court and you wait around to use any equipment in the gym. They let way to many people into this gym. If you have a system or don't like working out on top of 3 other people go to a different location. I use a different location even with this one closer to avoid the over crowding. Life Time at North Scottsdale is good but not excellent, though I'm a bit biased, coming from my main Life Time being Fashion Square. The staff's warmth is a highlight, and the doubled up cardio machines are a plus. The neatly laid-out weight machines specify body parts they target. The spacious sauna and spas offer a comfortable experience, but I miss a cold plunge. The men's locker room is well-designed. However, there is a musty/sewer smell constantly. Showers get the job done, though some have quirks. For a gym, it functions perfectly, meeting expectations.

Lifetime North Scottsdale has been an amazing place for myself and my family to go to ! I have to hand it to the staff for making this place a great place to be. From the moment you walk in, the front staff is so friendly ( shoutout to Chase who is always greeting us!) , the kids academy /swim staff making our girls feel so loved and welcomed, and the fitness classes/ instructors that we’ve worked with so far are awesome !

Having moved from out of state and not knowing very many people in the community, Lifetime has not only helped us grow physically, mentally and emotionally in many ways but also helped us meet some awesome friends/families.

Great potential but terrible maintenance of overall facilities. Burnt out light bulbs in pool area, smelly locker rooms, painful to walk on pool deck, and closed interior hot tubs for months after a tragic fatality. I’ve told staff multiple times about many of these fixed, some that are super simply like dead light bulbs near the outdoor hot tub, but nothing has been addressed in over a year.

Outdoor pool is always filled with the swim team. Life guards don’t control wild kids from playing in the lap pool lanes inside. The indoor pools are also very warm.

Myself and many of my friends have ended our memberships and have joined nearby clubs for a better experience.

I’m giving this location a soft 3 stars, almost 2. This LifeTime needs some major remodels and improvements. From smelly lobby/locker rooms to dirty tiles in the pool area, I expected more for this area. Areas of concern:
- Bulbs out in outdoor pool
- rough pool deck pavers hard to walk on
- swim team that is their during prime hours and takes up almost the entire pool indoor/outdoors. I was a professional swimmer/coach and this team is terrible. They goof off during practice and the coach does not even seem to care.
- hot tubs are always under maintenance (as seen on news unfortunately…)

I put in a word as well as surveys letting them know what needed fixing but nothing has changed. Employees here are friendly from my time coming here but upper management needs a wake up call.

Rob at the front desk (Members Concierge) has the worst attitude. I came in to inquire about my membership and actually upgrading my plan. He made me feel like a burden when I only took about 5 mins of his time before I walked out. When I asked how much a specific plan would be, his response was “you just go online and look.” I initially asked to speak to someone specifically about my plan so don’t take on the job if you’re just going to be rude about it. Still, the inside pool is kept at a good temperature. Just have to work around the swim team which can be difficult at times. Staff here have been friendly and helpful. Locker rooms are clean, sometimes smelly but they might’ve put air fresheners in recently. All in all, good place.

I was really excited to start my membership with Lifetime Fitness but they fell short. There is a major breakdown in customer service in the billing department: customer service 101. I had a complimentary membership for 4 months. They charged me $39 for a junior membership. I should have not been charged they told me my card would only be charged for incidentals. I brought this to Victoria’s attention to give me a credit to my card. I haven’t ever been to Lifetime yet. She told me she couldn’t credit my card. This is terrible customer service. She said she talked to manager Cam but he couldn’t help me. I will no longer renew my membership after four months. I’ve been a member of Lifetime for 7.5 years now and really enjoy this gym. I love the number of fitness classes they offer. The gym is MASSIVE (although the one in Peoria is even bigger! 😳) The outdoor pool with the water slides are great for people with young kids. They have an awesome kids center for the kids to play in while you work out. All the studios are spacious and clean. The locker rooms are gorgeous and offer a steam room and sauna The salon is super convenient and the cafe in the gym is also great too. It’d be nice if they offered more plant based options as I’m vegan , but for what it offers it’s nice. My only complaint about this place is they’ve got this terrible sewer issue that they been battling for years. Often times the whole club or the lower level will REEK of sewer. They desperately try to cover up the smell with fragrance machines. I wouldn’t say “air freshener” as the perfume or fragrance it emits is suffocating, but they are trying.

Was really interested in joining this gym as I am looking to make fitness a priority for myself this winter. LOTS of amenities you won't find at other gyms and very clean. Can't remember the names but the guy from Minnesota was okay but the larger one with face scars was incredibly condescending. I toured on Sunday 10/16 late afternoon/early evening.

I go there mainly to swim laps so this review is in regards to that.
As an after work swimmer the place is so frustrating. Lifetime rents out almost all the lanes for youth swim teams every afternoon from about 3pm to 6:30. So I can rarely swim. And Saturday mornings from 8 to about Noon. Any complaints to the staff they do nothing. There are afternoons the swim teams take the outside lanes and inside lanes leaving maybe 2 lanes for the members. People swim outside on the outside of the lanes in the open area just to swim and the staff doesn't think like maybe we should have more lanes for members. So if you work full time and like to swim for the individual price of $120 per month it might not be worth it.
Extremely frustrating members have that much difficulty swimming. The pool lanes are essentially the swim team lanes. The other day they closed the pool to thunder. So the 3pm swim team has essentially all the outside lanes so they move everyone to the inside lanes which has a few swimmers so nobody could swim. I realize I'm just one member so my complaints are not a concern of Lifetime but it's like if they rented all the treadmills every day at those times and no one could use them.

Otherwise the gym is nice. But good luck to swimmers.

Indeed it was like going to a resort/upscale gym. Different kinds of cardio equipment that I haven’t seen in 4 gyms. Well maintained building, rooms, exercise equipments, two Olympic size indoor swimming pools, two Olympic size outdoor pools, spacious locker rooms and bathrooms supplied with towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. A steam room and dry sauna. Impressive!

I recommend Gino as a personal trainer. I started personal training trying to recover from a pinched nerve. I had weakness in my right arm with neck pain. I also had been out of a fitness routine for several months due to my pinched nerve. Gino helped me gain strength and confidence. He taught me new targeted workout techniques. Now, I feel comfortable and more confident working out and using the equipment/machines. Overall, I had a great experience!

I have been a member at Lifetime for several years. My favorite type of workout is group fitness. They have such variety in their classes and instructors. My faves are Pilates Fusion, Barre and all the dance classes. I also enjoy a Yoga class now and then. The reservation option ensures your spot is saved. The gym is constantly replacing mats and equipment to keep everything up to date. And, they even honor members in special holidays w event classes. On Mother’s Day, We we were surprised with roses and cookies. What a nice treat! It’s amazing instructors, challenging classes, and a clean environment that keep me loyal Lifetimer! Highly recommend it he N Scottsdale club!

I generally have used this gym when I travel here, but was really disappointed at the E Chauncey facility. No consideration for military. Not even a small discount off price for a "day membership". Indoor pool closed. Cafe closed. Still $40. Not even a contemplative moment to consider it. I won't be returning to this location. Not the dough but the principal. This is undoubtedly deficiency with their leadership. Sad to see such a nice facility lacking so much..

Really fun gym! I love love love the lifetime cup that gives refills on iced tea and cold brew- just a little incentive to come in and get a sweat on. Also, they got rid of tons of plastic disposables. Such a great company. I feel good about being here, like being at a resort. Needs more evening classes and to open rock climbing for adults.

Gym is average. Basketball court is nice, but hardly ever cleaned so can be slick and dangerous. They always raised my membership $30 after I moved. They told me in June 2021 that my membership from Iowa would carry over and cost the same… then March 2022 said no that’s not the case and nobody had noticed… for almost a year.. then forced me to raise it before letting me in. A little rude in the process. So worth the money? No. It would make more sense if it was like $50 a month.

The front desk/check in staff are all friendly, the class instructors Penny (core), Marissa (gluteMax) and Erin (Strictly Strength) are awesome!!! They are doing a better job at cleaning throughout the gym…IF only the guest would do the same! We would love to see more room made somehow where the free weights are; it can get really crowded especially down by the heavier weights. But overall it’s a good Gym.

Just want to give a shout out to the mens maintenance and custodial staff. Always there cleaning, picking up towels. Never been a time when I have not seen them maintaining the bathrooms. Great service. If only we could do something about that septic tank smell it'll be great. Although it doesn't help that the toilets are right near the exit where the smells just hit you when you turn the corner to enter the men's restroom. As a new member, overall great at the moment.

Best gym period. I've been fortunate to travel USA and live in North Scottsdale and always find Lifetime consistent. Patrick the consignee and Lisa M. Pulates instructors are standouts for me. My only complaint would be the indoor pools smell heavily of chlorine. Outdoor lap swim and immediate shower/lotion for me wins.

Life time is a nice gym with a bunch of amenities. The locker room and showers are handy. Most amenities you may need are available. The workout space is nice. It can often be very busy. It can take a while to fix the machines that break.

I like the personal training services. They are an extra cost, but worth it for me.

I haven't used to the pools, classes, or courts. I may eventually use the pools.

I just joined this gym and am very satisfied with my decision for several reasons. The club is spotless.... They maintain an extremely hygienic and sanitary club from the showers and changing areas to the actual equipment and the restaurant and overall club. I have been in the club from early in the morning till late in the evening and I can say this is consistently spotless.
The club always has parking available, every single person that greets you as you walk in is friendly and calls you by your name. I am fortunate to have met Maya, in of the personal trainers upstairs. She is phenomenal and has helped me set up a workout plan that is just right for me as I know it is attainable and also challenges me to the pint where I have seen a difference in my strength. I am happy I decided to join the club.

You can’t cancel your monthly charges, REALLY DIFFIcult, every month we were told it’s canceled but we were still getting charged
we had to cancel the credit card to do so.

A lot of areas are out of access simple because they have “classes” and they are not polite about that.

overcrowded.

Unless you want to “brag” about holding a “high end” gum member ship its not worth it.
