10/10 gym and experience. The staff are so friendly and are great.
Alane from Vitality Training is a god send to my life. Amazing trainer focused on female empowerment at the gym. My life has significantly improved with her as my trainer.
This gym is top tier, the set up is super intuitive and accommodating, love the central model here versus a long room with sections. Makes it easy to superset!
best equipment Iβve ever come across, have never seen some of the machines they have.
If I didnβt live so far, Iβd still be a member.

I like this place overall, but they are too cheap to turn on the AC. They keep the gym at 78 in the summer and 66 in the winter. Itβs absolutely freezing in the winter. they have dozens of giant fans blowing at high-speed.

This place was sick! Best equipment, regular people, great staff, great upkeep! Iβm not from the area, but my god would I go back there and pay whatever they wanted for a membership. Probably the best gym in the state, and they have the resources: showers, massages, best equipment, and stretching equipment as well. Overall amazing!

Great gym, Iβd shell out whatever is necessary to come back here. Not crowded at all, nice people and perfect temp in the gym. All equipment and machines are updated as well. Easy 5 stars

If you're looking for a no nonsense gym with the best equipment in town, this is it. If you're a hardcore bodybuilder, you have exactly what you need here and it's all well maintained. If you're just looking for a good gym, this place has everything you need. If you want a gym that looks fancy but has little to no real use like a lifetime fitness then look elsewhere. Serious people train here

Was a good run for 4 years. The equipment is outdated, the monthly fee is more expensive than competitors for a whole year. It is starting to lean towards a trainer only gym, if your a regular member you will be asked to give up your spot if one is training a client and be told it's "gym etiquette" to do so. For the price and lack of services not worth it unless you have a trainer there. Front desk staff is nice and they recently updated the bathrooms.

Never coming here again. I went into the gym and someone their called me fat and gave me heat for working out in front of them in one of the mirrors. This gym is not good to go to if youre overweight. The trainers give you dirty looks and everyone looks pissed off all the time. Not only that the first couple months I was promised a sauna and never got to use one. When I approached them about wanting a refund because of this, they said I was locked in for 4 months and couldnt break it.

Head over heals for this gym! The staff are great, everything is clean, it's full of natural light, and the equipment is top quality. The best thing is that everyone there is serious about the gym therefore they are focused on themselves and respectful of those around them. It's the most welcomed I've felt at a gym and I love seeing the same people every day, it's very motivational. Best gym ever!

I've been in this gym for 2 years, and the new hire lady at the counter is very rude. I ask her if she can turn off the AC for just 2 minutes, because the room is very cold, but she just ignores me like no one is in the GYM.

I was in Phoenix for a couple days for work and had some time to stop by this gym.
You gotta check out this gym if you're in the area. One of the best I've been too. They have just about everything you would ever want. Tons of squat racks, rings, dumbbells, plenty of machines, American ninja style stuff, you bake it.
Highly recommend. Day pass is 15 dollars!

This is a real gym for those serious about working out, but not intimidating. Having tried the "hotel gyms" (like Anytime Fitness) its great to found a real place in Scottsdale that has an abundance of equipment. The price compared to the hotel gyms is pretty comparable for a place that is 5-10 times the size. Staff has always been friendly.
After a month of going here my only challenge/negative is that some trainers (definitely not all) do try to spread out to monopolize 3+ machines/areas at a time. Personally haven't used any trainers.

Gym is expensive. The trainers monopolize the equipment. A trainer decides they want their client to use a new piece of equipment that you are using they will take your machine. Bunch of bullies.

I have been coming here for about 2 months and I really enjoy the atmosphere. People here actually workout instead of zone out on their cell phone. Itβs big enough where itβs never super busy and small enough to maintain a good vibe. If you are a no BS kinda person who loves to lift weights, this is the gym for you!

Used to be a solid gym, now its "meh". Worth taking your $ to some place that has enough weights and stations for everyone.
New owner has been removing basic equipment and replacing them with stuff that no one uses so there is now a lack of fundamental equipment in the gym. I asked about this once and was told to be patient and they were working on it. Now everyone just laughs it off as we know nothing is going to change as they sold off all the equipment that could have gone back on the floor.
Instead, the new owner Jay added a giant ninja warrior jungle gym so thats cool, I guess. Its massive and takes up a ton of space for something that no one ever uses outside of taking neat IG photos on it.
Most of the fundamental lifting stations are now extra crowded and usually require a little bit of a wait to use. Add in that they only have 2 benches, 1 decline bench, and 1 incline bench. I'm amazed that people keep coming back.
If you want to actually lift weights, I strongly recommend a different gym unless something drastic changes.

Fantastic gym for bodybuilders/ workout enthusiasts alike. A little old school vibe + They take an extra step with recovery with their stretch room and recovery center. You can tell whoever designed the gym has gym-going experience, and filled the gym with all the good stuff. They have everything youβll ever need to get in shape. Friendly staff as well, the kind of people I feel like I would grab a beer with. I go everyday. Love this place!

I realize not everyone is going to wear a mask all the time, especially on heavy lifts and I'm ok with that. But the fact that your trainers can't even consistently do it is just quite pathetic, I mean they aren't even lifting or working out at the time.

Staff not allowed breaks!!! Visual signs to public π« for staff with "no breaks allowed and NO EATING" not due to covid, due to poor management!!! Gym going under and management taking it out on staff. KNOWN diabetics with health conditions working professionally and management posts NO BREAKS NO EATING. Those with health conditions blood sugar requirements, those living a healthy lifestyle are DENIED by management. A disgrace for a HEALTH FACILITY. Shame on Maximum fitness. The gym is conveniently located to the freeway and has plenty of parking. They gym also has the old style dumbells which is very nice as many gyms have the rubber covered ones. The hours aren't the best but you learn to work around them. The problem with the gym is that they make their money off the personal trainers who pay rent. As a result, the trainers feel they get priority on the equipment. If someone is using a piece of equipment, I can go use something else. I don't care. I guess one of the trainers wanted to use the equipment I was using so he jammed a bench near it so I couldn't use it. They were using a different piece of equipment when I walked in so I had no idea that they wanted use it since there wasn't anything near the equipment (water bottle, towel, etc) I was using. A week later I was using a mat and got a rash so I decided between the two it was time to leave.

This gym is definitely old school and bare bones, but it's got everything you need: cardio machines, sleds, plenty of free weights, lots of squat racks, Olympic lifting platforms, etc. and I rarely if ever had to wait on any equipment. If that's what you're looking for, and you're okay with a small, basic locker room, and not having some of the amenities other gyms have, then this is the place for you. Another nice thing is none of the gym staff have sales goals, so they're not constantly calling you or pestering you when you check in to try and sell you training packages, like they do at LA Fitness or Lifetime
I wound up canceling my membership since I moved and it was too inconvenient to get up there, but it's a good gym. The only thing I really didn't like was some of the personal trainers that work out of here set up these elaborate CrossFit-like training circuits for their clients that take up half the gym, so a lot of the time you're jumping out of their way or have to walk around half the gym to get to another machine. Minor inconvenience, but definitely got really annoying at times

We purchased Rick's drink cooler used for our new business in Phoenix. We asked him if it was in proper working order. Specifically asked about the compressor. He said "Oh yeah works great, runs cold". Nope- totally misrepresented. We emailed him in December about the issue and asked for a fair resolution, and he completely blew us off. After paying all the repair costs, we could have bought a brand new one. We understand buying used equipment has it's risks. But it certainly isn't fair for Rick to unload his used equipment on other business owners, specifically misrepresenting the condition on purpose. Not appreciated at all. Looks like he runs a nice gym with lots of happy customers. But buyer beware on his used equipment. Don't do it!

Easily the top gym in Arizona and certainly a contender for top 10 in the USA. Iβve trained at Goldβs Vence, been a member at every club from Equinox to 24 Hour Fitness to Mountainside Fitness. Today, most gyms/clubs are good. Often it comes down to who offers towel service. However, when it comes to equipment and you find a gym that not only has every body part covered, but a variety of machines per body part, youβve struck gold. Further, finding a gym that has dumbbells above 130 lbs. is becoming more difficult. Maximum Fitness Scottsdale succeeds on all levels. No, they donβt offer towel service. But the gym and locker rooms are spotless. Showering is not a problem.
The only negative is the hours. They should be open earlier and stay open later.
Top 10 gym in the U.S.A.π₯

Maximum Fitness is my favorite gym in Scottsdale. The facility is stocked with all types of specialized equipment like sleds, Olympic lifting platforms, TRX areas, etc and is very spacious. A real no bull$hit gym. Not fancy at all, just meat and potatoes here ladies and gentlemen. No dry cleaning service, massage, or anything like that. It has everything you need and then some to have a great workout and permanent gym. The rates are very reasonable too! The gym offers a free 5-day pass on their website, printed mine, walked it and was worming out within 5-10 minutes.

Maximum Fitness has been my #1 gym destination now for over 3 years. This is EXTREMELY friendly gym - none of the typical stuck up Scottsdale attitudes, or high testosterone behaviors that you might see at some of the other gyms in town.
This is the real deal - a serious gym for people that want a pure workout for mind and body. The gym is chock full of free weights and equipment - and all kept SPOTLESSLY clean daily. There are tons of machines, dumbbells, free weights, and everything one might need to pack on the muscle or get yourself trim and lean.
Friendly gym? Unbelievably so. From the front desk staff who actually remember your name to the many repeat clients and outstanding trainers that call this gym their home, Maximum Fitness is the finest gym that I have ever worked out in.
This is NOT at all like a LifeTime Fitness (which I have been to many times and isn't my cup of tea). This place isn't about the beautiful people - it is about improving your health and achieving your own goals to get yourself in the best shape of your life.
I am here at least 5 days a week and I also appreciate the nice selection of refrigerated protein drinks for sale at the front - always well stocked with a massive selection.
Maximum is also an incredible value - and many employees of the areas top companies work out here daily (you will see many name tags from TASER and Fender Guitar among others) .
I can't recommend this gym more highly - it hits all the check boxes of what a great gym should be. This is not a luxury resort - Maximum is a gym that will help you look great for when you actually DO go to a luxury resort.

I am not a gym person. I do not like getting up and getting sweaty... in the gym. I have always found it hard to dedicate myself to my body but coming here has been amazing! I feel more connected with my body! I feel active and ready to take on the day. It's awesome to work together with someone and have achievable goals and to make real progress. I asked for a better body and I got a better booty!
