Course is in great shape coming out of overseed. A few spots under repair because of the big rainy weekend a couple weeks ago but very manageable. Pace of play was excellent: 3 hours 40 minutes.

Great course! Almost every hole had an amazing view of Superstition Mountains as a backdrop. Tee boxes were clean and well taken care of. The greens were a 8 outa 10 condition. Very smooth, and the prices were where they should be. Only 1 negative thing to say and that was that the bunkers were like hitting out of dried mud. Otherwise, this course is worth playing. I'd have to say, I'll definitely be back. This course will be in my rotation.

Every time we show up the range is "closed" due to an event or the pro shop doors locked at 4:45pm before official closing time. Just want to teach my lady how to golf and can't ever seem to do it at this place.

I don't understand all the 1* reviews. This is an average to above average golf course. The conditions weren't as bad as all the reviews are making it sound. The staff were all very friendly. Pace of play was a touch slow at 4.5 hours, but what can you expect from a mid-morning Saturday tee time? Worth playing, it's challenging enough, but not anything crazy. Green fees are maybe just a touch high for the layout, but not outrageous.

Course is in rough shape and smells like raw sewage. As a Gilbert AZ resident, I was charged $40 more than my friends that reside in Gold Canyon. Complete rip off and bad practice. $125 to play this course is robbery. Do better.

Giving one bonus star because I’m assuming the rest of the course was pretty cool. The course policy of no refunds or rain checks due to a rainout seemed absolutely ridiculous to me and my group. We booked weeks in advance, flew in from out of state, and we were met with monsoon weather for a day, I don’t mean “let’s play through this” type of rain, I mean raining sideways “we need to be indoors” rain. There was one particular staff member that was rude before our round, and only more rude when we came to ask about our options after our 3rd hole rainout. We were told there was no management on site at the time, and there was no attempt from the course to help us find any solution - essentially we were told it just wasn’t our day… not a great way to run a business.

By far the worst golf course in the Valley, from the rude and inconsiderate staff to terrible playing conditions I would never play this course in the future even if it was free. I have been playing golf my entire life and have never came across this type of experience, Mountain Brook seems to be the local munie that over charges and doesn't care about members or the local community. If you're reading this review, move on from Mountain Brook! There are far better options a few minutes away from this place

Worst golfing experience possible. I’ve golfed all over the valley for many years and this the worst managed golf course by far. Incredibly rude staff, terrible playing conditions and over priced for the experience you get. From the Marshall to the pro shop. I have never been more disappointed and rudely spoken too by a golf course in my life. Please consider this review before booking a tee time moving forward any mountain Brooke golf course.

Played there today and was a super quick round. $125 for this course is robbery. $80-100 would be fair, but the condition of the course isn’t worth what they charging right now. This course used to be in much better shape.

I just played this course for the second second time on 2/14/25
About half of the fairways are dirt that are painted green to make it look good the course is probably the worst course I have played in a very long time. I got charged with a small bucket of balls $130 this is a $40 course in the shape it is in.i will not be going back.

I hate leaving this review, since this used to be one of my favorite courses out here. The course is in terrible condition. The fairways are being painted and spotty. The tee boxes are the same. There's about 3 times the amount of sand in the bunkers that there should be. I don't know if it's under new ownership, but I won't go back there until they get the course back to where it should be. Such a shame, it was such a great course.

We paid $75 which was reasonable for this course. I don't think it is worth $100. The course was in good condition. This day started with a 45 minute frost delay, but our tee time at 12:30 was only delayed about 15 minutes. Feared the full course would be slow, but we finished in 4:10 which was great. Staff was friendly and it was an overall great experience.

Greens were in rough shape.. someone had driven across several greens and left tire indentations. Many bare spots on the greens and fairways. There was sewer smell on at least 5 holes. This is definitely not a $100 course this year!!

I was very displeased with my experience here today. We didn’t tee off until 15 minutes after our scheduled time because it was so crowded. Our round took 5 hours! The round cost $80 but was nowhere near being worth it. The greens were horrendous. It was the longest grass on greens I have ever played. You might as well have been putting in the fairway. Also on one of the last few holes we teed off and one of the maintenance guy turned the sprinklers on as we were playing the hole. By the time we got to the green it was sopping wet! Not worth the price.

Booked on GolfNow for $72 each. Got there and it’s CPO because they’ve over seeded the fairways and what they refer to as “greens”. No mention of this whatsoever on GN but the manager said “play or not - there’s no refund”.
What a POS course. Fairways haven’t see a mower in over a week and the greens are basically either sand or 1” high grass to just drive your ball through. Automatic 2 putt rule after the first hole. It’s a shame because the layout is pretty good, but right now this goat track should be closed until someone actually turns it into something that resembles a golf course.
Actually, sorry about the goat track comment..found out even the goats have left this miserable place.

Our tee time was 6:37am on a Saturday. We teed off on time, and we’re playing the first 4 holes at an 11 minute pace. The Marshall on hole 2 told us we need to be playing faster. He then found us on hole 4 and said that they have a shotgun tournament going off soon and if we don’t pick up our 11 minute per hour-4 man pace, then we would be kicked off the course. We shouldn’t be punished for your poor planning. We then called the front office on hole 7 to let them know what happened and confronted the issue at the turn with nothing but deflection of blame and accusations of teeing off late, which didn’t happen. They have lost our groups business from here on forward and I will not recommend this course to anyone

Also, unrelated to the poor staffing, they punched the greens but didn’t advertise that to us at any point in the appointment date all the way until after payment.

I golfed here on a Friday late morning through a golf now hot deal. Prior to booking through GN I called the course twice, once as soon as I woke up and one mid morning to ask if I could have my girlfriend ride along with me. Through both phone calls there was no mention of a rider fee (I called a total of 6 courses this AM and if they mentioned a fee, I said “thanks, but no thanks”. 2 courses did not disclose a fee, Mountain Brook being one of them). I show up for my tee time and get told there will be a $25 rider fee (That is half the cost of my round!). Had I known this, I would not have golfed here in the first place. I was duped, and will not be coming back to this course in the future.

Course was in decent condition for the time of year, worth the $55 GN hot deal, but not the $80 I paid. Starter was very friendly and energetic. Great pace of play, was done in 4 hours as a twosome.

Arizona Golf is way more scenic than Texas.

We give this course a 4.1 out of 5.

Pace of play could be better.

Overall it was good to get out and enjoy some frustration 🫤 🙃

I would say this is the best hidden gem around the Valley. The value you get here blows anything around Phoenix and Scottsdale away and the course has beautiful views throughout it. I was skeptical with the lower reviews at first but after reading a bunch you can tell those complaining are either very cheap and don't know how expensive Arizona golf is, or don't want to follow basic golf etiquette by wearing a collared shirt. I've played here 3 times now and it is the best value around and a solid course

I live in the area and have played this course many times. They changed ownership a few years back and now their prices have sky rocketed. They charge nearly as much as the Gold Canyon resort now which is a much better course 5 stars. They are pricing out the locals. And their cheaper rates aren't until after 2ish and they want their carts in by 5. All I can say as someone who has golfed in different countries this course doesn't warrent a $140 fee. You are better off going to the Gold Canyon resort.

I will start by saying I love this golf course. I've played it probably 25 times. The layout is fun, the course is usually in good shape and it's reasonably priced. After today, I will never be back. I had zero intentions of playing the course today. Just a little range time to work on my game... but to be told I cannot use the range in the future unless I have a collared shirt on is utterly ridiculous. On the course, yes absolutely, but on the range? This isn't a private country club.

Overall a decent experience. Pro shop staff was friendly, the cart staff was efficient, price was right and the course was in good shape and fun. All this was overshadowed by a staff member riding around telling us we were "off pace" and to speed it up. We were not waiting for the group in front and rarely saw the group behind us. If we were truly SIGNIFICANTLY holding things up , fine - ask us to pick it up a little.
I'm out there to enjoy a round of golf with friends/family on a Sunday. I saw no need to give a little "rabbit punch" to an enjoyable day.

The most disappointing thing about this place is the management, It’s so unfortunate. I love the course and have played there several times. The only times I have a bad experience is when the “manager” is working. The few pro shop employees I’ve met are excellent and always happy to help and inviting. What’s unfortunate is I had a few corporate guys out and wanted them to see how great the course was. Unfortunately because of the interaction with the as states “manager” of the course we will no longer be playing here. We have a tournament planned with over 100 players for our corporate merge and unfortunately mountain brook is now off the table. I’d recommend any other course within a 25 mile radius. You will be greeted better and enjoy your round more.

Mountain Brook is the best value in the Southeast Valley. The tees, fairways, and greens are always in stellar condition and it’s a really fun track. While the course gets a lot of play, they don’t cram in the tee times like some other courses in the area. In result, pace of play is usually solid even in peak season. I go to this course regularly and have had great golfing experiences in the past. This last trip will be my last there. It was 110 deg out and we were there with a couple of friends from out of town to golf. We had five, usually we don't do five because we don't want to slow anyone down, but the course was empty, exactly zero people behind us. Even so we were on a 2 hour pace for 9 holes and had let the only two other groups on the course pass us on hole 4 and 5 as soon as they came up on us. We were paying customers buying beer and trying to enjoy our time even with the heat. Then the rangers came and yelled us for golfing 5 people (one a junior) AGAIN --- ZERO people behind us, absolutely no one else on the course behind us; 110 deg out and they were complaining to us about golfing 5!! WTF. Then at hole 10 the manager came out and told us that one of our group would have to play by themselves so that we didn't have 5. We told this jerk that they we had let the only other people on the course pass us by when they came up and that there was no one behind us. He didn't care and just kept repeating that it is their policy, over and over. WE said F- it and left. Absolutely unreasonable management. There are too many courses in AZ to waste our time with unreasonable course management.

They put out a small shotgun tournament on the holes in front of us ( who does that?). Called the clubhouse and was told the Marshall would be around. He came by and blamed the clubhouse staff and grounds crew for the mess. Pace was so slow we quit after 11 holes. Such a shame this course is run as poorly as it is. Such a rude staff. My friend and I wanted to get breakfast and walked in around 6:15am a couple weeks ago (they opened at 6), and the lady who greeted us said that breakfast doesn't start for a while longer, even though they were open. I said that we're fine with waiting and asked if we could have a seat outside since it was very pleasant out at that time. She then went on and on about how the cook doesn't arrive until 6:30am and said "it's not like she can just start up the grill the second she walks in... she has a ton of prep work to do". I kept trying to say it's fine that we'd wait but she wasn't having it. I said I'm SO sorry to be such an inconvenience to you and I'm really sorry that you seem to be freaking out... she then said "okay bye" WOW! Someone must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. We found a very nice club nearby for breakfast who had absolutely no problem serving us. I'm sure the food at Mountain Brook sucked anyways.

I am disappointed in the club house staff who have given two different reasons why a group cannot play nine holes in the morning. The first reason was "frost warning" and the other was "maintenance." Additionally, the greens are absolutely horrible for the splendor of the fairways. No discount or warning given for the mangled greens.

BEAWARE the golf course has damaged its greens and does not warn you or provide a discount. They had some how killed the grass on the greens, so they just sprayed the remaining dead grass green. Their pin placements further the frustration with the course because the greens are so fast since you are golfing on green dirt and therefore you cannot hold the ball near the hole after missing the putt. $60 cost for a $30 value.

I had an 8:37am tee time and when I showed up I was told there was an hour and a half frost delay. I was on a time crunch so I asked if I could just play 9 after the delay and was told no they don't do 9s until afternoon. A call or email would have been appreciated or at least letting me play 9 so I could still play at your course. I had to cancel and won't be back.

Absolutely horrendous. Made a tee time at 1 o'clock and they failed to mention there was a junior tournament going off just before. No refund offered and barely managed to get in 5 holes in my round

The course was in decent to good shape. Got around in a good time and had no problems. Everyone was friendly and helpful
