My baby (under one year old) has already been hurt twice at Mkid childcare in less than two months. The last time, he crawled into the kids’ basketball area, was hit by a ball, and fell, hitting his head on the ground. I usually go when it’s not busy, so I don’t understand why no one was watching him. As a non-white family, I sometimes feel we’re not given the same attention as others, which makes me uncomfortable.

horrible customer service just went trying to check in and a car remember, didn’t have my keys with me because I walk from my house. The lady of front just didn’t let me check in because I didn’t have my key. She was making me to download the app extremely rude. I have three people membership with my daughter and my wife. I was excited about this gym. I got a 5 day pass and was told that I have access to anything and all gyms. I came to this location to try the cold plunge and was told that it’s extra and I don’t have access on the 5 day pass. I guess I will not be getting a membership here and my hunt for a good gym continues. The guy literally said I don’t think you get access to it. Like how much thought did you put into it? And why you telling me something you think and not know.

I’ve been a member for almost 2 years now and I love the place. They are constantly updating it to bring different features into the facility and always have a clean environment and friendly staff. My family and I have been coming to this mountainside for about 6 months now and really like it. The facility is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The daycare is amazing, all the girls that work in the daycare are so friendly and so helpful. They are so patient with all the kids. I will say I am not a fan of the Hoist equipment, but other than that it is a great gym!

For about 6 weeks, I (and a few other women) have tried to make a complaint to Mountainside. It was minor just about music volume between the classroom while members were practicing yoga.We spoke to local employees and management. We wrote a letter to corporate. No one bothered to call, write back, or address this situation. I finally yelped. Low and behold corporate called and basically told me they would not address the situation. After our conversation, he asked me to take down the post, or "he would make it uncomfortable for me"
. I left for vacation, and Tuesday, when I went to the gym, they said that my membership was denied. They kick me and my 5 year old granddaughter out of the gym!!!
The only person here who will suffer is myself, but I guess this is how you quiet people.

I’ve been going here for years and overall it’s great but they are in the middle of a remodel. They got rid of their traditional sauna and put in a red light therapy “sauna”. Sounds cool but there is 1 red light and it’s hardly even warm inside the room. You can sit in there for 20min and not even sweat. Why a fitness club would remove their sauna is beyond me. They have told me the temp is as high as it goes. If using a sauna is part of your regime for all the health benefits look elsewhere. I will likely switch to EOS down the road as they have a real sauna and bigger than MS ever was. Bad decisions by management. I guarantee they loose a lot of people.

I ended up joining this gym. The front desk personal are still not that friendly but it doesn't really detract from my workouts. I just took my first cycle class and the instructor was helpful and welcoming. I think the thing that will ultimately stop me from continuing my membership of that it's a little expensive, plus, I cant come in after 9PM Friday though Sunday. The gym down the street is cheaper, has better hours and includes *more* amenities for less money. It's a no brainier so I'll probably end up making the switch.

Not honoring a 5 day pass legit 2nd time in door. 5 day pass was set up after a sit down consult, but I guess the 5 day pass "only applies If I come with a member " despite what my email says. The gym is outdated, save your money and contract hassles and membership issues and move to EOS or if you have a chuze fitness near you go there. No need to leave a corporate generic reply it ain't fixing this.

Kailyn is my trainer and I am thoroughly pleased. I would give her 10 stars if that were possible. She went above and beyond to personally write out a 2 day/wk, 3 day/wk and 4day/wk plan that gives me options and flexibility. In addition, she is a stickler for form, which I really do appreciate. This place is getting one star for this reason alone, I was a member 7 years ago at Mountainside. I left because of how expensive it was getting for a cheaper and competing gym EOS. Now that EOS is booming and I can't take the amount of people there I canceled my gym membership after being with them for 4 1/2 years. I was looking for a new membership at Mountainside. I saw they are offering free five day gym passes so I inquired on one and got one emailed to me. I wanted to see how Mountainside had changed so I came to this location and spoke with Shawna, the guest services agent who barely said anything to me and treated me like a complete robot, she didn't smile, she asked for my emergency contact, took my photo, had me sign a waiver and then tried sneakily charging me $22 for a day pass. When I said I inquired on the 5 day pass to try it out she blantly said I'm not eligible for a five day pass because I have been a member in the past. This doesn't seem correct for this company's policy at all! After leaving I looked up the terms and conditions on the pass and that wasn’t one of them. I have been treated incorrectly and unfairly. I don't recommend this mountainside strictly after dealing with somebody so heinous and obviously not happy in their job just by their facial expression, doesn't seem like someone you want signing people up for memberships. They are WAY nicer at EOS. I may just got back there since that alone turned me down on wanting a membership here ever again. Bad customer service does not look well on a company.

Canceled my membership due to my monthly rate going up for the 2nd year in a row. I cancelled my membership before the payment was processed on the 3rd of the month of January. I was told I would still need to pay for the month. I asked to be billed prorated amount which they allow when you sign up but not when you cancel. I will now go through my credit card company to dispute their payment. Poor customer service. Wasn’t surveyed as to why I was leaving.

The billing at mountain fitness is so awfully. The accounting people don’t have any clue or any idea about how an account is getting charged. They put my family account on freeze and when I ask for the reason for extra billing the explanation was for annual fees. Now another membership person claiming different information. So be careful with billing and check your bills monthly

We have been members for years, at multiple different mountainside locations. I’ve had to cancel once before because there was no gym close to where we lived. As soon as we moved I went right back. We recently decided to switch to lifetime for the pool and went to cancel at this location. I never leave reviews but I’m baffled at the way I was treated by Shauna, she was so rude to me. Never looked me in the eye, and barked orders at me for my information. I won’t be back EVER.

They are sneaky at this place with your membership. I went to go cancel and first of all girl Shawna was on the phone just not talking on the phone just dialing and ignoring me for a good 10 min. Finally she helped me and when I told her I wanted to cancel my membership she said I had to buy out because my 6month membership had renewed. So I paid 32$ extra to get out and it cancelled immediately so I lost the last month deal you usually get. They are money hungry obviously because they don’t even send you a renewal contract . I’m not going to miss this place since the weights are always taken and people there keep the equipment dirty, not one employee have I ever seen clean the equipment.

I recently had an absolutely horrendous experience with the front desk staff at Mountainside Fitness. This gym’s front desk staff is simply the worst. Besides their remarkable ability to barely look up from their phones and communicate in short, mumbled two-word sentences, my request for a 5-day pass was met with an option to purchase a day pass for $10 or consider a membership. All because I didn't check a box expressing interest in a membership. It's been over a decade since I have had a membership or even a pass, and yet they made no effort to win me back. The customer service skills exhibited by the staff are about as useful as a broken treadmill in a marathon.

I'll stick with my Lifetime membership, even if it costs me three to four times more than Mountainside. At least they value my membership (or money).

Good luck to you Mountainside. Don’t bother with the cookie-cutter “We appreciate your feedback, J. Don't hesitate to reach out to us…” response. It's nothing more than an insulting gesture.

One of the better Mountainside gym locations. Very clean and great equipment. This location gets really busy and crowded preventing a decent workout. The reason for only two stars is because of the staff that opens on the weekend. They act like they either did not get enough sleep or just crawled out of bed and are very grumpy and somewhat rude to customers. I could name the employee but won't but he is the young male and female that open on Sunday mornings. Obviously treating customers with respect and welcoming them is not a standard that this gym upholds.

Its a hangout for the high school kids. Looks more like a social club than what I would consider a gym. Bunch of kids standing around talking and on their phones. One machine could be occupied for 30-45 mins with teenagers. Nice gym, but unless you can go on first thing in the morning or late at night.......don't even try. I will most likely try out the new EOS when they open later this year. Hopefully all the kids will stay at Mountainside.

My family and I LOVE mountainside fitness - Peoria location. I love all mountainside fitness locations, but Peoria just feels like home. I’ve been a member for over 5 years. They are the only gym facility I trust to take care of my kids while I work out, I drive 30 minutes after moving just to get to this location. Clean, friendly staff, and even members/staff feel like family. Mix of new comers and old members, but never any judging. The personal trainers will work with injuries, rehab, and all different kinds of fitness goals. They also work with certain types of insurance AND have first responder discounts.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I recently got stationed out to Delaware, and between being a new father and having to outprocess Luke I didn’t exactly have the time to come by and cancel my membership. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for some months now but have been told I need to send a letter to corporate which I did. Then when I called to ask about why I’m still getting charged I was told it’s because I didn’t send it certified. I’m about to be deployed away from my family for the next 6 months and instead of helping me out and canceling my membership I’m being told to resend the letter I sent but certified this time. The cancellation policy if this gym is extremely outdated as their reasoning for having you mail a letter or come in person is to “make sure it’s YOU” wanting to cancel your membership. Extremely disappointed with this gym and the way they and their corporate counterparts treat military.

Been a member for years and love this gym....Always updating and getting new machines....The only minor complaint I would say a lot of members that spin wish the spin room was bigger lol or maybe switch out Yoga room and spin room cause more people I believe spin then go to yoga.....Also I did personal training with Mtn Side and Payton was absolutely great and listen to me everyday and was very professional....

The staff is exceptional from check in to member services to childcare. Childcare employees are wonderful and give their best effort to make sure your kid feels safe and welcomed. They always have a good attitude which makes me confident that my child will be at a happy place.

Now on a more serious note: the water is amazing! Taking a shower after a workout versus at home is something I look forward to! Skin and hair feels great and the lotion is non-irritating and moisture is long lasting.

I gave 4 stars only because I think the family bathroom (including the changing table) needs a lot of attention to cleaning. There was no hand soap and the changing table looked like it’s been neglected for awhile. Oh and the diaper pail is weird. Can you please replace with a hands free one? I don’t want to touch a circular handle that everyone else has touched right after changing their kiddo. 😝

Just sharing be careful for anyone going for the 5 day day pass. You CAN get one every calendar year per their website. On 1/24, My fiancé and I went in and we were told we could work out and go visit the membership services after. After we finished our workout. We went to talk to a women working behind the desk. She then told us I was eligible for the 5 day pass (I’ve never been a member) but my fiancé was not (she was a member 5 years ago) regardless of the status both of us qualified and the women tried to make my fiancé pay for the day rate even after explaining the situation. She was trying to take advantage of us. Yes it’s only 15 dollars but she more than likely has done this to others and makes commission of the signing of memberships and sales. This is unethical and I’ll let anyone know that be careful of this women. She was persistent on asking us to pay, when we said we aren’t paying the daily rate because we don’t need to. She then returned my ID and we left. We then after called and confirmed with another location in surprise that we were in the right and the employee was in the wrong.

Joined in January 2021 and had to put a freeze on my account due to health reasons and I wasn’t able to exercise in the machines. Apparently, someone messed up my membership and I had to go in and straighten out the mess that someone did, thank goodness they aren’t there any longer…..HOWEVER, I sat down and spoke to Mason Bowman and he explained what happened and proceeded to fix their mess. He was professional and was willing to listen to me about what should have happened. He has great customer service skills and he’s very kind. THANK YOU MASON!!

Horrible, horrible music. Also, it would be a SHAME if there was more than one weight rack with community weights. It's so fun walking all over trying to find weights, when they're scattered all over, over the minimal assortment of machines. To be fair I'll add that this gym chain costs more than others and offers less than them. So that's fair. Overpriced for your satisfaction.

If your looking for a gym with a lot of (fluff) equipment and very little for serious workouts. This is the gym for you! Nutrition bar hardly open , lots of cheap machines (a.k.a selfie Stations), Again not a serious lifters gym. Had to pay $70 to get out of my contract. Will be looking elsewhere.

Met with Taylor today to get info about the gym. My main concern was childcare as I’m joining the gym since having my son. She gave an informative tour of the facility and gave me all the info about the daycare and their practices. I look forward to attending with my son so he can see that being healthy is a priority in our lives. Thanks Taylor!

I used to love going here all the time until fairly recently. The main problem lies in how many people go here, even in the middle of the day when it shouldn't be busy (Because apparently nobody has a job or responsibilities at 12 PM on a Tuesday). But no, you have like 300 people in the gym all hogging the machines for like 30 minutes at a time, and I'm not able to get anything done.

Please build another Mountainside in the Vistanica area to help with this because its seriously effecting the quality of the gym. I'm having to go to the 75th avenue location now because its slightly less crowded there.

The crowded thing aside, the gym is nice, and employees are friendly. But none of that matters when I'm not even able to use or enjoy the gym to its fullest potential most of the time.

I love it here!! Love the staff, teachers, personal trainers. It’s really clean and well taken care of. Everyone is just extra nice and friendly. The only thing I recommend is asking about ALL fees before signing up. I didn’t know there was an extra fee for child care until after I signed up.

Mountainside fitness has nice facilities and the childcare is definitely a good feature for parents. If you are going to use their facilities I do recommend a month to month membership. I do not appreciate the poor communication regarding memberships. I began a 6 month membership 3/2020 and when I decided to cancel my membership 5/2021 I was informed that my 6 month membership was renewed for another 6 months. I did not receive any kind of notification regarding this renewal. If you have a 6 month or 12 month membership it will automatically renew for another 6 or 12 months not a month to month membership. If you decide to leave you will have to pay a buyout fee for however many months you have remaining. I’m sure this is all in the fine print when you sign up for a membership but I feel like this is something that should have been explained to me when I debated with the representative on the pros/cons of a month to month membership vs a 6 month membership. It’s disappointing that a good overall experience there was soured by this lack of communication. I will not be returning in the future.

I joined the gym knowing I needed a trainer to help me get motivated...and the experience was stellar. I was matched up perfectly with my trainer and we hit it off immediately. She was easy to communicate with, had a very good idea of what I wanted and helped me reach my fitness goals. Losing weight was not my goal, increasing my overall fitness and muscle strength was. I am a 66 year old female and I can honestly say I can see the results of my hard work. The equipment is up to date and well taken of. Thank you to my trainer and to the team at Mountainside Fitness.

Update: I was supposed to receive a call back today from the manager and did not. Still waiting for contact.

Poor experience with customer service while trying to have our account closed. We had contacted the Ahwatukee mountain side to close our account last November. During the conversation nothing came up about needing to sign in person or send in a letter with my signature on it. The last few months went buy and I find out I still have an account open. The Peoria location (the center we had attended) contacted me about updating my payment, that is how I found out. I have talked with member services to see about crediting back the time since we canceled; this time was due to the communication error. They explained that is not possible and that they have no notes referencing us trying to cancel. She explained there is nothing that can be done. We have not attended in 12 months, the only reason we waited until November was because of the 12 month contract. At this time there is nothing they have done to try and help our situation. The site manager Danielle is supposed to contact me tomorrow, hopefully with an understanding ear and clear mind. Due to poor documentation by the Ahwatukee location there is no documentation at all about the phone call we had when we believed we had cancelled last November.
Now awaiting contact by Danielle in Peoria.
